This game absolutely confirms that I was right. We tried so hard, but the civilians truly played to their utmost potential. All game. You guys seriously rocked it and you deserved it so much.
I even totally sent a PM to my team just a few (real) days ago asking if I should just give up, because I thought you guys really deserved it and we didn't, but Blooper and Zomba talked me out of it. :P I had just been insanely emotionally and mentally stressed, so that was definitely factoring into my breakdown, but it's also a testament to how insanely well you guys had put the pressure on us all game. It was insanely draining to me, but so, so much fun! Thanks for the game, Epi! It truly was a ball. Maybe my favorite speed game EVER.

Well hot damn, we got bamboozled!
Canuck, you're a freaking genius. Those cartoons were SO HARD to choose jokes for, too!
Poor Golden! I did enjoy counting your vowels, though :P And everyone's, for that matter - hope y'all enjoyed the smoke
Excellent game! My teammates were incredible, and the Civs were on top of their game. Hope to see you in the next one!

I'm curious as to where the other voters are. Anyway, voting bea because I feel defiant and tipsy and amused today and it's as good a vote as any, as we're all over the place in the thread aside from LC for most. And lynches are nuts in this game. Let's see what happens.

Might jump on the LC wagon. Might vote Sophie again; you make good points that I don't think have been proven wrong. Might vote Zomba; she's a zombie and wants to eat my brains, and she has some strange behavior. Might vote bea; I could see her flying under the radar with her in-and-outness, but I'm still curious if there's anything else others see.thellama73 wrote:Hey Blooper, who are you planning to voet for today. Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Night 5]
Good evening, everyone. A running commentary, if you will.
I am enjoying these horrible clips. Or enjoying them as much on an ironic bad movie level as one can.
I am not enjoying not winning any contests, despite my best efforts to remain active. Alas. I am enjoying playing in them, though!
I am enjoying the rainbow colors, LC. I should've thought of that.
I am enjoying that it is Friday and it is high time I bought some beer.
I didn't see Zomba infodump as MP said. I thought she was pointing out a strange logic between Bass' slip and no Judge NK. Actually, I don't see how those correlate, and I'm probably reading that wrong; I was never very good at geometry. But I'm obviously good with an LC vote for reasons.
...
Oh, right. Reasons. Those reasons, of course, being that hey, Bass likely indicated him in a slip; but hey, if the slip wasn't a slip, apparently, he's strongly indicated as the Judge, and we don't want Judge kills (especially given the recent info about inheritance from Grand Supreme Hostmaster); and I enjoy a nice change of subject besides my own lovely tentacled self
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Now to remember all of the horrible movies I've pushed into the recesses of my memory and choose the best-worst one.

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 5]
What the actual fuck. Even after checking the thread, I still don't understand how I have 8 votes on me all of a sudden. I'm irritated from lack of sleep, and the fact that it's probably pointless to defend myself given the number of votes, but whatever. I apologize if that comes off in my writing.
Canuck makes good points (and I still love her even though she's slightly evil). Regarding the "maybes" of my behavior, I play mafia in chunks and try to get all of my stuff done within an hour or two in the evening. That includes catching up with what I can't read throughout the day from the previous day, making at least a partial post (which, yes, means that I often promise to go into more detail, but sometimes I don't end up fulfilling those promises), and participating in the Day or Night activity (voting or posting something fun). Add in multitasking and this can take up more than a couple of hours that I just don't have at the moment.
Secondly, these are terribly explained votes. The only viable and well-explained vote that I saw was Canuck's. The rest are jumping on...well, you know.
I feel like re-addressing my ping of MM is just going to be repetitive and pointless. I stick by my suspicion. Regarding Bass, of course it was an obvious choice without explanation. Even something as crazy as a slip deserves a bit of time to have it explained, and when it wasn't and Bass gave up, it was the *obvious choice.* Obviously. And this:
Again, sorry if I sound irritable. I need to step away for a bit I think. I figured I'd at least go down with something.

First of all, unless I'm misunderstanding the situation being referred to, I did not gun for LC during the Bass lynch. At all. I had voted for him in the previous lynch because of slight suspicions above the others in that really spread out one, however. And not just Eloh, but a ton of people are expressing the sentiment, "Well, I'll vote nijuu today for reasons, but LC, you're totally next!" If you guys were so gung-ho for LC, then why am I shocked at the poll?Elohcin wrote:@MP. If Niju is toon patrol, then I don't think LC could be toon patrol. She was adamant about voting for LC over Bass on the day Bass was lynched.
I agree with LC that he has been trying in the thread. He has been trying real hard to win this game IMO.
Now....I feel this is safe for me to say in the thread. And, I know this is going to cause crazy reactions b/c of everything I said yesterday. However, I do NOT trust LC anymore. I do not believe he is toon patrol. I believe he has to be the Judge. LC...I love you man, but I WILL be voting for you tomorrow. As for today I think Canuck's case on Niju is very convincing. I believe she is toon patrol and I will be voting her today. Now, I have come forth against LC and I am hoping that b/c of this, you all will vote with me tomorrow for LC. If not, I know I am a gonner.
Linki: If t helps, I am 99.999999% that zomb is civ.
linki: llama, I think Sophie may be a good way to go too, but I think the case on niju is better. Sophie could have just been an overzealous civ in her reaction to the Bass "slip".
Again, sorry if I sound irritable. I need to step away for a bit I think. I figured I'd at least go down with something.

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Night 4]
Damn all of you and your nighttime talkativeness! Just kidding - I love you all dearly and you keep me somewhat sane
I don't understand all of this trusting and these trusty posts happening without much substance. We had the first lynch we could actually understand what happened, this game is full of shenanigans (I just love that word, so I will use it profusely), and yet we apparently trust each other. But no one trusts the same people. It bothers me when people these things, and a lot of these lists aren't really supported with anything but "I trust so-and-so." Trust in mafia is horribly dangerous. But I suppose that's like saying "the sky is blue" or "oatmeal raisin cookies are pretty delicious."
That's my two cents on that subject. And while I still have a little bit of free time, more thoughts while I remember them. I think llama's look at Sophie is worth considering; I haven't really looked at her, but I think he makes good points with what he found. I think what people are saying about Bass' "slip" (about it not being a slip) has some merit, especially about the PM vs. BTSC business, but I'm in the slip camp, simply because it seems to be the simplest explanation. I like simple. Simply simple simpliness. Is Eloh role-hinting? And why? Perhaps I didn't read thoroughly enough, or it's just banter, so correct me if I'm off base. I know I say this a lot, but I think I had more to say but forgot. I'm willing to discuss other things (or these more thoroughly) while/if I have some time tonight (I miss bantering in real time
)
And now, for the greatest toy in the history of toys:

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 4]
Apologies for general quietness this week, and for not returning last night when I said I would. I did start the new job today (which by the way is a DREAM COME TRUE so far
but I gotta be on my A game for it, so I will either be just as quiet or slightly less active this week than usual. I will do my best not to be inactive). In my post during the last lynch before voting, I was in the middle of saying I didn't suspect Canuck because her demeanor is not out of the ordinary from what I've played with her (and I think I've only played with her once as a baddie, when she winned Mizfits :P ). She was very wishy-washy when bad, but as others have said, she's been doing a lot more participatory baddie hunting in this latter part of the game, which further makes me think she's good.
As for Bass, I also didn't understand his vote for splints when it happened, but the votes were so spread out and people had such similar reasoning that it didn't stick out too much in the last lynch. This posting with LC, however...Ummm kinda can't ignore that, I don't think :P And he's being realllll quiet after that. Both are, I suppose. I'm gonna go plan some lessons first before I explode into a ball of anxiety and then I'll be back to check on the conversation/for the vote, but it looks pretty damning without explanation.
This game is freaking awesome.

Sorry for lack of posting - busy day back to work doing fun orientation and planning for new classes. Whew. This will unfortunately not improve throughout the week, but I'll do my best to keep up. I'll start with the nasty drink and move from there into more pertinent matters (then again, what could be more pertinent than a drink you should never, ever imbibe?).
Anyway, any drink with mayo in it has got to be the most disgusting, but the drink with the funniest name to me and probably the most dangerous outcome is Satan's Taint, which is a shot of everclear and hot sauce mixed together and lit on fire. And sorry, $100 is not enough for me to destroy my digestive tract

...And on my quest to look up the aforementioned mayonnaise shot, I found the New Jersey Turnpike, which is whatever's soaked up in the bar mat by the end of the night and squeezed into a shotglass. This is not a drink; this is a death sentence.
Back after I make some mashed potatoes.

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 3]
Okay. So I've been reading and re-reading for the past hour or so, trying to decide on my vote, and now it's all spread out. Like what most others are saying, the people with votes are not particularly suspicious. So, I've gone back a bit and looked at the current vote-getters (it's funny - in real life, I make tons of short lists, but I don't usually in mafia. But here we go):
Splints - Seems like Bass's suspicion was based on changing her mind in-thread? Not big enough for a vote.
LC - I stated my lack of suspicion before, but also my wariness for having said lack. I fell for his baddie game briefly in Monty Python, but by the time I saw my mistake, I was NK'ed real quick. Also, just for simplicity's sake and possibly for logic, he and rabbit were at it, and now rabbit's cursed and a helluva lot less talkative because of that (and apparently being in China). It could be that LC wanted him to be more quiet so rabbit couldn't keep going against him?
MP - Also tricky like LC, but I'm truly a sucker for emotional appeals. I didn't really understand the votes for him yesterday, either.
rabbit - So aggressive that I think he's Civ (I mentioned this before). Also, see above.
llama - Quiet for the weekend, but for a valid reason. Not voting llama today.
Linki - I see suspicion/votes for Canuck but...Canuck's being what I've known her to be, good or bad (I think I've played with her more as good? I dunno). I don't see enough out of the ordinary...Oh god running out of time. Out of the players getting votes, LC is barely, BARELY the one above the rest, so I'll go there.
Linki linki - Holy shit

I do think MM was an odd choice for the Judge to kill, given that he was taking a bit of heat (more than others) for possibly being the Judge. Did Doom want everyone to know that we were wrong? Or more manipulation? Or a burning desire to kill large mountain-dwelling rodents? Am I overthinking? Yes?

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 2]
I think I'm gonna go ahead and vote for MM, because I've spend far too much time mafia'ing this evening and I need a bit of a break (though I'll probably be back once I finish this delicious, delicious wine). I'm glad Eloh brought up my sentiments, because I feel most comfortable there today, and BR's suggestion that he could be the Judge in light of Sophie's comment makes me a bit more confident. But mostly, I'm going off of what I felt before, which hasn't changed much since the last lynch.

Interesting that you say this - I was going to respond to BF's comment about my "pushing" an MM lynch with this sentiment as if MM were confirmed Civ, when all the lynch did was prove to be confusing as hell (and advantageous, but still confusing). It proved nothing of MM's alignment as far as I can see, and talk of him has just dropped off, which makes me wary.Elohcin wrote:Also...what about MM? I know that he is looked at as civ now because of the Day 1 Aces lynch, but does this really clear him?

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 2]
Hmm. I shall express thoughts, as nebulous as they might be (yes, I'm stealing Canuck's word, because it's an awesome word and I'm of a similar sentiment today
).
I've been reading throughout the day and mulling over the happenings (don't get used to it - this is my last day of pseudo-unemployment and I will have much less time next week. Yay!). I've never played with rabbit before, and he seems to have a very, VERY aggressive playstyle (and immense back pain. Sorry that's a thing for you
). I'm not really sure what to make of it, although I'm leaning crazy, aggressive Civ - I'm usually inclined to see this type of behavior as such, since it puts one out there so obviously. I'll go with that instinct right now - my gut's often right as far as mafia goes.
The gut also tells me that LC's all right, which might be a bad sign. But then again, it rarely happens (I usually don't trust him whatsoever). I haven't seen anything in his behavior, anyway, that sticks out as bad. I'm not even quite sure how the back-and-forth between them started in the first place, but it seems blown out of proportion.
Gonna go ahead and linki because...Canuck. You are reading my freaking mind, and I'm pretty sure we're rarely eye-to-eye in mafia. This is how I was reading the breakdown of the suspects today, as well, which...doesn't really help much in the way of voting. But! It does make me feel better that others see the same stuff I do. I have not been reading medical treatises today (although I was marathon grading high school research papers for my former students. So much for pseudo-unemployment), but I will try to get more detail/better analyses if possible before the vote ends. If all day doesn't do it, I honestly don't know what a few hours will do, although perhaps more discussion will help.
Linki - Wondering the same as bea, Zomba. And LOL

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 1]
This is supposed to be a speed/small game, and you leave me with six pages to read in the morning?
So, wow. That was unexpected. Good job, Aces voters/Golden! I'm curious as to why it worked out that way exactly, but hey, a baddie lynch is a baddie lynch
I see suspicion all over the place and I'm not sure where to look. Juliets for what I gather as people seeing her trying to save Aces? I feel like there's something else in the argument but I wasn't really sure what happened there in my marathon read-through. Zomba because she looks a bit floundering and the "asset" comment (hehe...asset). There are others going around, but they don't seem as prominent. I'll have to go back and read more closely, especially in light of Golden's being correct about Aces. (I hate that a lot of what I say when I catch up tends to be repeated from the thread, but I suppose that's the bane of not being able to play in real time for the most part.)
MM, you posted this two minutes before the lynch post:
Why is it still Day 1?
And here's a cartoon for y'all called "High Note". Sorry it's not a direct video in the post, but YouTube doesn't have the whole thing, and clips won't do it justice. If you haven't seen it, YOU MUST. The animation is clever as hell, it's entirely musical (in more ways than one) and...well, you'll see

Linki - I was wondering myself, Eloh - did you make that cake or find it for the game? Either way, incredible

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 1]
I've gotta head to trivia in a few minutes, so I'll vote before I go. I'm going for MM - my gut says yes, his self-vote says yes, and his nonchalant attitude towards his gathering votes says yes. I disagree that voting based on behavior should be discouraged - plenty of people get caught based on behavior, and it's much better than randomizing.
Holy good God I gotta go. I was trying not to do this in a rush but lost track of time talking to the mother

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 1]
We really do talk about the same things every Day 1, don't we? Never really noticed until now. And now I'm noticing patterns more as I read. Anyway.
Today was a surprisingly busy day for my supposedly having an impromptu vacation. Some thoughts after catching up:
1) There always seems to be some sort of "battle" between two higher posters in the first day or so, and it looks like it's Golden vs. Aces. I'm inclined to see it as Civ vs. Civ, since I haven't had a really big ping from either one. I found Golden's pointing out of a "bandwagony" sort of voting pattern for the Day 0 poll as something interesting to point out. Dunno if it has much merit, but it could be something to look back on.
2) MM's self-vote pings me something awful, definitely more than anything else I've seen. As others have pointed out, he has done this in multiple games, and in most if not all of the games I've recently played with him. It may have been a joke the second or third time, but geez, you have plenty of time and a good amount of posts to at least make some sort of accusation or voice a suspicion. It is detrimental to the cause if you are a Civ (since you're taking out your own numbers) and weirdly drawing attention if you are bad. I have ignored it in the past, but I don't like it at all and am inclined to vote his way today.

He avoids knowing a Phyllis simply by shaking his head. I'd vote him right now, except...
2) What do people make of the cobbler's dogs jumping all over the detectives? That and the mention of the fur coat (the murderer not taking it after inspecting the collar) are giving me pause, but I can't figure them out and I figure Epi wouldn't put things like that in there if there wasn't a reason.
