She was here at our house drinking and watching the Watchmen movie and talking a lot about boobs.

She lamented, "No one ever targets me with anything."

I shot back, "Someone targeted you tonight!" :haha:

Good times.
True story :suspish: I did at least get one (incorrect) guess in the first night.

Good game, all! :D
Which guess was that?
Total crapshoot since it was so early in the game:

Night Owl II - Bass
Dr. Manhattan - espers
The Comedian - Ricochet

I don't even remember why I picked those, except that I had a feeling I would die early :sigh:

RIP Golden :( Knew there was something fishy.

How did the poll look when you said this?
There were four votes on Golden with no votes on anyone else and almost no mention, let alone discussion, of other candidates, with a few hours to go.

I don't think Eloh is bad. Someone made a good point - why would she tie up the Day 1 lynch against Sloonei by voting for Sloonei instead of me if she were on his team? That would be stupid, or at the very least really, really risky. And in regards to this point:
MovingPictures07 wrote:EBWOP: it should be noted that MANY of Elo's posts on Day 1 were interactions with Sloonei. Would a teammate be more likely to engage heavily with Sloonei or avoid interacting with him?
Not the baddie Eloh I know. I've been on her team twice and we barely interacted at all in the thread (unconscious on my part; can't say the same for her since I'm not in her brain :P )

Unfortunately, that's all I have time to say for now (I've already spent far too much of what little time I have today on this site...damn you people!). Hopefully I'll be around tomorrow to discuss more.

I'm gonna go ahead and vote before I forget, and out of the four, my strongest suspicion is MM, and it's weak as hell even so.

I hate having only four choices. I look forward to discussion of more people.

Because he said he found himself suspicious, which I found odd. Reminds me of Vomps being Uzziah in Biblical.

But I'll put my self-defence vote wherever it will help me best - he is just my preference.
Are you referring to this post?

When I read it, I'm seeing him saying (if you switch the wording around) "Myself, I think I'm voting Eloh, G-Man, or llama." Like, he's not actually meaning to vote himself, but he's saying it's his decision. I had to read that a few times.

Re: Watchmen [Day 2]

Going through each person on the poll to make my choice:

Golden - I don't think he's playing his baddie game, or he's doing a clumsy one (sorry, Golden, I know you just said something along the lines of being held to too high of a standard, but take it in a good way from me :P ). As much as it pains me to say it, he's right about my attempted lynch train yesterday - I have only been voted out once on Day 1 in Cars, and it was for some nitpicky BS verrrrry similar to what went down yesterday - I chose to say whatever came to mind and people weren't used to it, so they lynched me. I was a civ (and I'm still bitter about not being able to use my awesome role :suspish: ). Long story short, I don't usually stand out, and I'm NOT an easy lynch (that's not an invitation BTW). This, however, looks like an easy bandwagon, and Golden seems genuine in his responses.

MM - I'd forgotten that he'd mentioned me quite early in the game (Day 0) in discussion of quieter players. Most of his posts look like fluff and witty banter. His "suspicion list" is smileys. He asks Epi if the poll is a standard lynch poll. I don't even know why he asked that. He mentions me twice (that includes the Day 0 mention) before voting for me, but qualifying it with "but I have no real baddie reads." Also don't really understand that. Actually, most of his tone after the first lynch seems a bit snarkier than usual, but that may be in response to Scotty's persistent questioning? Also, he self-voted, which he does all the time, but gosh, the WIFOM. Would be some shit if he voted for himself as the only candidate he's "comfortable" with because he's bad :P But I always see MM as bad, so that gives me pause.

LC - Misses first vote due to busy reasons. Understandable, once again. Mostly discussion of game mechanics and roles, and later responses to earlier discussions. Suspects Golden, listens to his reasoning, feels a bit better, but votes for him out of today's candidates. It looks like a rational thought process, even though I don't agree with the sentiment, which scares me, because I always suspect LC. Always. And I'm not getting crazy vibes.

Russti - Constantly catching up and says he's busy, which I can understand. Is on the fence about G-Man like me (agrees with my sentiment in the thread, that is), and eventually votes G-Man, citing that he often suspects Eloh and gives her a pass. I agree with a lot of what he says. I wish he were here now to post thoughts about the current situation, but he said he's in the wilderness. Alas. Nothing sticks out except that there's nothing definite. Golden, you said he was the only person you'd use as a self-preservation vote because you have slight suspicion of him - why? I'm not seeing it.

So, out of these lovely gentlemen, I'm most likely to vote MM, but I'd like to hear other thoughts and there's still time.

Re: Watchmen [Day 1]

Yikes! Two kills  Hope the ninja knew what (s)he was doing! And four lynch candidates. Well, I guess that makes looking back at only four people easier?

As it seems like much of the conversation since I last posted was on Golden, here goes:
thellama73 wrote: Golden's vote looks bad because he voted to tie Ninja Blooper with Sloonei. Could have been a baddie save attempt, but it would be a really transparent one, and I would expect better of Golden. Espers looks bad because the last minute final vote on Sloonei could have been a baddie underbussing a teammate.
MovingPictures07 wrote: - I know some folks are seeing Golden as bad, and he certainly looks objectively very suspect, but I really am having a difficult time seeing a mafia Golden conduct D1 so carelessly -- and I think Golden genuinely didn't see anything different about Sloonei, and perhaps was blinded to him because of Golden's post here -- nonetheless I have to keep him at a very slight mafia read, since there's no denying he looks bad after the Sloonei flip
I had the same thought - the Golden I (think) I know wouldn't be this clumsy. I'll look back at him, but I wasn't getting the baddie vibes yesterday, and his suspicion of me, though wrong, didn't seem as forced as what I perceived Sloonei's (I'll admit, this is likely in hindsight knowing his alignment) and MM's weird reasoning.

Other people I wanted to comment on in my read-through are not currently in the poll, so I guess I'll save those for the next phase and spend time looking back at the others actually on the poll. My laptop's about to die, so I'll be back either later tonight or tomorrow late afternoon I'll be driving about 4-5 hours back to my lovely home to hopefully make more observations.

I don't think so. Do you have any pings on anyone other than Sloonei? I assume not, but it's worth asking. Do you have any town reads?
There are a lot of names being thrown around. G-Man's not off the radar - like I said in the last two posts, his posts themselves don't give me pause, but things that others have pointed out do (I know that's vague as hell, and I can elaborate when I'm not so danged hungry :P ). I also want to go back and look at others' "playful" interaction with you at the beginning of this game to rile you up and see if I can find anything worth looking at there. It was on my mind earlier but in the major catch-up party I've had to complete in the last hour or so, I'd forgotten about it.

Golden wrote:ping on ninja's long post...

Her finding llama's adverb idea 'interesting' and suggesting she might be willing to vote sloonei, that whole latter part of her post felt quite bandwaggony to me and not quite sincere.
Bandwagoning onto what? An idea? An empty poll? A suggestion made by one person? At no point did I suggest voting Sloonei in that post; I said if there's nothing else to go on, and because I hate Days 1, those are tools are at my disposal (and, might I add, better than randomizing or self-voting). But you're right about one thing - I am feeling weird about Sloonei after catching up (again). Stay tuned.
MovingPictures07 wrote: Everyone: what do you all think of this post by Sloonei? What do they think of the suspicions he cast against Elo and ninja? Does anyone think that Sloonei seemed more likely to vote for Elo or more likely to vote for ninja, at the time of his post (i.e., does his vote being cast for ninja seem logical, or do you believe he had a higher propensity to cast a vote for Elo, and thus you're left wondering, why ninja?) ?
I'll post again in a bit here.
I was surprised after reading that particular post that he went for me (it looked like he was leaning Elo), but not surprised in general (he's inclined to see me as bad when...I haven't ever been bad in a game with him :P )
MovingPictures07 wrote:Regarding where I am at this moment:

I have very slight suspicions of G-Man and Ninja. That being said, I think a lynch of Ninja right now would be "easy", and I'm consequently hesitant to cast my vote that way, or in G-Man's direction. I'm going to examine the players I have in my No Read section now.

That said, Ninja does have the highest propensity to receive my vote as well, but man, these lynch trains always make me nervous, and they do minimize the information we can gleam in subsequent Days from looking back at this lynch, especially if hardly anyone casts off.
If this is a lynch train on me, it should make you nervous - I am not bad and I'd really prefer to survive past Day 1, please. I'll say this - I wouldn't have bothered to post any of those thoughts as a baddie, because they have obviously drawn negative attention (and you know how much I hate drawing attention to myself). I have no one to discuss things like using adverbs and smileys, etc. except in the thread, and I generally (ooh, adverb!) say anything I want as a civ. I should probably stop doing that, but I'd rather feel free to talk.

Like just about everyone, I'm having a hell of a time deciding who to vote for, but as I've been writing this post, I've made up my mind. I'm still torn with G-Man - while, as I was reading, I found the points on him to be good, when I went back and read him myself, I didn't find anything too terribly ping-y (but I said something to this effect before). I think the point on Eloh's backtracking on Sloonei could be a baddie sign, but at the same time, and I hate sounding like I'm pulling a "no u"...I'm feeling iffy about Sloonei myself.
Sloonei wrote:@ ninnyjuju, you said you are "intrigued" by the theory about scums using more adverbs and smilies than others. That theory was brought up to be used against me. What do you think of me? As a player in this game, I mean.
While your play is similar to BoB (in which I'm 99% sure you were good) in terms of questioning people, etc., I have to agree with llama - you seem a lot more obsessed with others' reads of you and needling questions this time around. They seem more narcissistic rather than finding information in general for the benefit of the civs, which is really off (and might be what others are seeing as "off" in the thread). Yes, this line of thinking with the smileys, etc. is not the greatest way to find someone, but it's a way. And you did seem to back off on it when it was pointed out. You are my strongest ping, so I will vote you.

I like this policy.
I don't. Good players won't usually give you a good reason to vote them on Day 1. If they did, they probably wouldn't be on you 'good players' list. Giving a pass to "good players" is bad. While I realize that you're are not saying that you wouldn't put pressure on or look closely at a "good player" Day 1, you are in a way creating a class of people who are worthy of a free pass. You better believe they take advantage of that charity every time they can.

In writing, there's a phrase: "murder your darlings." Don't be afraid to apply that here. Heaven knows the baddies do it all the time.
Agree with this. Don't ever give mafia a reason to act like or be something - they'll use it to their advantage every time.
DharmaHelper wrote:Also, I ain't doing no rainbow list. Fuck that noise.

MovingPictures07 wrote:For anyone that has ANY reads whatsoever, that hasn't voiced them yet, I am literally dying to hear them. I'm incredibly intrigued.
Oh dear. You might want to get to a doctor

Since G-Man is prominent in the conversation, I'll include my two cents. I'm torn about him. I agree that he seemed to take the comments in jest about "policy lynching" him Day 1 (P.S., I hadn't heard the term "policy lynch" until this game, but I understand the concept now), which could point to defensiveness. But then again, I empathize with the feeling of being bombarded, in jest or not - it can get rather irritating regardless of alignment, so I'd probably react negatively eventually. But now that I'm re-reading him again, he doesn't sound as irritated in his posts that I previously thought, so  I agree with a lot of the points he's been making about mafia in general. He hasn't made any accusations (just an idea to lynch Golden for shits and giggles), but that's pretty normal for Day 1. I think. So, in conclusion, I'm less torn and more...observant and wary, really, since his name is being brought up.

I've always found the concept of using too many adverbs as a sign of baddiness intriguing. Smileys I understand. I like llama's line of thinking, especially for a Day 1 vote. While Days 1 are some people's favorite hunting days, I hate them with a passion, so sometimes you gotta go with whatever you can without a vote record - silence/hiding, evasiveness, or someone profusely and excessively using adverbs and smileys to a great extent XD XD XD I crack myself up

I'm done now. I'll be back after a day trip to Asheville to discuss and vote and stuff.
