Interesting, a rev player would know him better. I do believe he has made an impression since he started playing here as well. I wouldn't limit it to a rev player at all. Killings can be a surprise. Like the last two times I was killed on night 1, I was super surprised when I found out who did it. Don't worry boys, I never forget. I know I'm not that brave. I doubt it was you or SVS. lol boo, maybe so, maybe so.
I feel like he reads remarkably like I felt when I was on the verge of getting lynched. Frustrated, certain that the baddies will win, and a bit disgusted with the civs for not doing better. I think that is a civ reaction, not a baddie one.
I feel that too, but you can't ignore the fact that he hasn't followed any of his suspicions, and instead of helping find baddies, or at least suggesting them, he focuses on arguing, and posting posts no one can really get. I don't want to lynch a civ EPi, but he's not being helpful at all. And I get being too frustrated to care and feeling like pissing on everyone. But if feels like he's been like that on and off from the start of the game. I don't know what to do with him
I don't find that out of character for him.

That was one of the points I was going to bring up as well when I finished my catch up. There are a few players in this game that will kill just to shut them up, myself included. I will never believe that those kills are just set ups. Most people will kill someone before their voice is heard. IF LC was right about any of the people he was accusing now would be the perfect time to strike in hopes that the thread would forget about it.

Again, for the millionth time, my suspicion and vote for Snowman are not based on his level of participation, but the content of his posts.

Unlike boo, I don't see very much distinction between someone who doesn't post at all and someone who doesn't post anything of substance. Neither is trying to baddie hunt. Neither is contributing to the discussion. Neither is really playing the game.

But again, that's not why I am voting Snowman. I just think boo is hypocrite for saying we should lynch people who don't contribute and then defending Snowman so hard.
I am not entirely talking about your suspicion. I just wanted to know why your usage of words regarding Snowman. Gah! Dinner is almost ready and I don't have time to read the last couple of pages of posts. I am going to vote for Boo now.

In the show, at some point someone adds fake rules to a Death Note. Death Notes come with "rules" on like the first page that dictate how to use one.

Ok, I know nothing of the show but aren't death notes different from the roles?
My thought process was, continuing the thought that MP would put as much of the show as possible into the game, the best way to incorporate the rules/fake rules of the Death Notes was to use it on role secrets.

I can understand wanting to give him a pass given that he is still relatively new to mafia and this is only his second game. On the other hand, I can also understand that he has extensive knowledge with social mind-based games such as mafia, and he doesn't strike me as a fool. I think he's well aware of what he's doing.

My main reason I don't have a read on Snowman yet is because I tend to read people based off of what they say (as in, I like being able to pull quotes in order to build cases). And given there's not much of that going on with Snowman, I'm not entirely sure what to think of him yet. In other words, I need to see him talking more to develop a better opinion on him.

Linki

Linki again

At this point I don't think he's being given a pass. It's way too early and not much to see to even think of him as bad. I'm certainly not going to make excuses or defend his actions, I just don't think his actions warrant a lynch.
Turnip Head wrote:This is the snipped portion of the boo post I'm talking about. Yes, boo also mentions that Trice didn't need defending because he was defending himself. I still feel like something doesn't add up, but idk.
boo wrote:My big problem with the Snowman stuff is that it already looks like there's a bandwagon forming against him, and seeing as how that went so poorly with Trice (who I didn't step in for because he was actually defending himself and I don't like to try and help people in the early game since if they're lynched and bad that somehow makes me bad for doubting a pretty shaky case), I think people who don't agree and aren't looking to bandwagon him need to actual make an effort to stop that from happening and engage. I think people who are considering voting him, and are civvies (so not looking to bandwagon) also need to be challenged before it becomes the easy and safe choice.
linki @Epi: I was just giving you credit where it was due since you brought it up first, but I obviously simplified the argument. I apologize.
That doesn't read as bad as I thought it would. I get what he's saying here. I'm going to read Boo now and form my own opinion. Like I said he has tweaked me but I'm wondering how much of that has been from reading other peoples posts and how much is from his posts.

Even Zombarella (which is in the same boat) posted something somewhere about how she now got it. Oh, thanks a lot, BR.

I used sarcastic orange. Happy?
:haha:

I think it's between Zombarella and Snowman for me. While I hate to vote for Zoombarella after the nice things she said about me, I've seen her play and she's not giving half of it this game. Yeah, she has another game, but this is getting closer to deadline and she's posted just enough to stay under the radar. In the other game she's more aggressive, and came charging into the game. I don't see any of it right now.

linki: Don't hosts let players change their vote if it's placed by mistake?
She would have to ask for it to clarify that it is a mistake and not a deliberate trick, and it sounds like she will not be back before the poll ends.
Just got home and I see I screwed up on the poll. I did mean to vote for Trice and not you. I have no suspicion of you as of yet. I will double check my vote before submitting next time.

I will finish my catch up now.

I voted for Trice, he is my top suspicion for this day and I have run out of Mafia time for now. I won't be able to get back here until after the lynch so I will continue my reading later.

Thanks Boo. That was a big post and a lot of thought put into it. Gives me a lot to think about. I think I'm going to read BWT myself now.

You said you were considering voting a low poster. I don't think any SVS (civ, baddie, or indy) would do that in a normal game, which made me think you were a baddie since the baddies are not in their normal position. You didn't go for it, but if you had I'd have voted for you on the spot because that just would have been a whole other level of out of characterish-ness.
I haven't had time to read SVS yet so I missed that but you have a good point here.

Now alone, that wouldn't be enough to warrant attention (at least in this D1 mine field)... BUT which option did bass vote for? Normal. Ok good, right? No, because which voter was he? The 11th. How many votes did L/Light have? 9 (total and when bass voted, he was the 26th voter overall after SD was the 25th overall when she voted for L/Light).

How many posts does bass have? 4.

What do they say?

"Real happy this game started." Ok, sure.

"I voted normal lynch." I mean, it is the right option, but literally nothing else, no quote even using other peoples ideas. The very essence of low effort.

Because WIFOM.

Today's discussion has been enjoyable, but I think that behavior after the gameplay has been decided will prove more useful.
I agree.
Then this one. Ok, thank you for that very useful insight.

Then there's the vote post where he apologizes for having to vote now (I buy) and says he's voting randomly (I don't buy).

The first three posts are nothing. I think they were there because Bass is mafia, wants to fly low, but doesn't want to be at the bottom of the list when we look at total posts (and guess what, with 4 posts he's currently sitting with 7 people with the same or fewer posts, a nice buffer from being to far down in case people look at low posters, while still flying low).

No treble.
Ok, I said I would look at this post when I got back so I found it. BWT, I see what you are saying BUT I am seeing it from a different perspective. Everything Boo says seems more opportunistic then correct. He has taken 4 posts and made a case. Bass is often a low poster, not always, but often. It is day one and his day 0 vote wasn't an option any one considered baddie. I don't like this case at all, it smells baddie to me and now has put boo on my list.
I remember thinking the same, but I'm not sure how much Boo has played with Bass. Most times I see Boo around is when he's hosting. So not sure he'd know that about Bass.
I certainly can't remember which games they have played together or not but they have both been around long enough to have passed each other by. They both played on Rev as well before it died.

Linki Boo: I'm not sure I understand the SVS thing.

Essentially, he want to leave someone he thinks is bad alive indefinitely.
I thought that was a little weird as well. I'm still convinced he's a baddie. Wouldn't that be an awful weird stance for a baddie to have?

I'll offer my insight and contribute what I can, but I don't see the "discussion" coalescing around anyone in particular. All I see is argument ad nauseum around the D0 poll.

I'm happy to see so many involved, but how do you find so much to talk about when literally nothing has happened yet? The most earth-shattering event so far is the realization that Russ hasn't posted anything.
Waiting for a bandwagon to hop onto? :eye:
Hmmm...good point.

Alright. I can probably add TH and Snowman to my list, albeit I would still rank them below Trice and bass. So my list currently goes:

1) Trice
2) bass
3) TH/Snowman
How can you find anything suspicious in Bass? I know I'm reading back so I don't have the thread momentum but Bass hasn't posted much and has RL things going on. I saw nothing in his posts.
Boo had a nice, long post that explained it in much better detail. I went back and read bass' posts myself (all 4 of them) and found it to ring true.

I'm still leaning strongest towards Trice, but if I decide to go the low-poster route, I think bass is a decent option.

Linki: What exactly is TH's thing with llama? Is there an actual reason for his vote or is it just a 'no u' because of llama mentioning his thought process on Day 0?
Ok, when I'm done in the barn I will search for Boo's post and see what I think after that.

Without a clear view on everything yet I have put Trice at the top of my list. His posts seem more of a trying too hard to be helpful while shifting focus on a separate group. He's coming off as Mafia to me. I still have a lot to read but I have to go check on the horses and chickens. I'll read more later.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

thellama73 wrote:
birdwithteeth11 wrote:Okay. That was a little intense. But I think I have a pretty good idea of what direction(s) I'm leaning towards for this lynch.

Definitely not Epig and DH. I read all that shit twice (thanks for that you fools :P), and I need time for it to absorb into my brain. Needless to say, I don't see anything for either of you, or boo for that matter, that makes me think anything other than "This is just DH/Epig/boo being DH/Epig/boo".

Aces I'm okay on. I was gung-ho to vote for him, until I went back and actually read his reasoning on the Day 0 vote. And then it became pretty clear that Trice took his post entirely out of context by quote-snipping. Given the way that Trice continues to hold onto his IMO fairly weak case, plus taking someone out-of-context, plus making a lot of posts that don't really contribute anything until Aces went and brought Trice up, I could see myself potentially voting for Trice today.

Daisy I feel good about for now. I think her fly-by vote would have been more suspicious if she'd come back in and tried to keep justifying her vote. But since she already had, I can give her a pass.

Bass I do not feel good about. He feels like the type of low-poster who is doing just enough to fly under the radar, but still seem like he's paying attention. I'd feel bad voting for someone that can't be around to defend themselves, but I could be pressed to vote in his direction if I decide to go the route of voting a low-poster.

So I'd say right now, I'm considering a vote for either Trice or bass. I'm sure I might have forgotten some other thoughts with how much I just read, but feel free to ask questions for me if you want my opinion on something else.

Linki: Look forward to hearing your insights, BR!
What about Turnip Head? Maybe you should think about voting for him... maybe.
I haven't read your whole case on TH yet but I just read TH as my first because I love to suspect him. So far I am seeing a TH with nothing to hide, having fun. I like to think of that as civvie TH.
