Are they obvtown? I voted scotty because I thought knowing for sure what alignment he is would help us figure things out. He also seems kind of contradictory about whether he thought we should vote him out and then getting annoyed that people were voting him. NAA all of a sudden hasn't been around today when he was one of the more talkative people earlier. I don't know that I would call him obv town. I guess I don't have anyone as obvtown at the moment. I do think some people seem kinda towny to me like marmot and wilgy but others I feel kind of unsure about. I guess at this point I'm trying to make a decision based on what would help us further the game and figure more things out so we know where to go moving forward.

Re: ɒiʇɒM: Day 3
I have had a similar problem as this game came at a weird time for me and I haven't been able to be around as much as I wanted which I guess puts me in the lurker category.Ruri wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 8:34 pm My original statement was to get rid of the slankers and leave obvtown alive to eat the bullet. Get enough of obvtown, and the game should be easy. Wolves are already killing off the obvtown.
I know I'm one of the lurkers, since this is how I usually play. Maybe a bit less due to IRL, but I'd like to know if there's other lurkers.
Finding and voting off a strong wolf could prevent them from offing one of the lurker wolves to win the game. Not sure who those strong wolves are though.
So are you saying you think we should vote out a lurker or someone you think is a "strong wolf"? Do you think we should be voting somewhere different?

So are we going for scummy player and hopefully not allow mafia to choose one of their own or a towny player and see who they choose? Either way we will learn more after today. I guess I'll vote scotty. I think knowing for sure if he is town or mafia will maybe help us figure out where to go next. [VOTE:

I guess I would be interested to know what alignment either wilgy or scotty is after all their back and forth. That might give us some info to go off of.

Re: ɒiʇɒM: Day 3
I don't think in general people have done a lot this game so far (myself included for just some real life things). I think with this game style being kind of out of the norm people have been a little hesitant and unsure. I think now that we've gotten this far we should try to work together as best we can to figure out what to do. Either way if we vote out a mafia or mafia kills one of their own we will have at least something to go off of after night 3 which might help us get on the same page more than we have been. It's just a matter of do we choose or do they choose and what's better? I guess going for someone we are less sure about may be the better way to get more info.

Re: ɒiʇɒM: Day 3
The thought was that if we end up voting out a mafia then they don't get to choose one of thier own to nk. Night 3 and night 5 if no mafia get voted out then they can choose one of their own to nk.

You voting tess is something I agree with, for instance.

Re: ɒiʇɒM: Day 2
It sounded like what scotty and NAA were talking about strategy wise but I also was wondering like how that would help us because if we are pretty sure someone is mafia then vote them out then aren't we helping mafia get rid of a person we wouldn't have voted out otherwise. Then I was like I'm thinking about this way too hard . I shouldn't try reading the game when I'm half asleep.Marmot wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 9:31 amsabie12 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 7:40 amI mean it kind of is seeing as how the goal is to be voted out but there are no PRs or anything.
Sounds kind of like what others have been suggesting. Do you have someone in mind that you would vote out that you think is potential mafia?Ruri wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 2:20 am I wonder if optimal play is to just vote out the lurkers. Those who post a lot should be easy to solve towards late-game. Or, we should always leave the most obvious townie in the game. Since mafia will get a free kill on their own if this is past D3, it also might be better to vote out one mafia just before that.. Prevents them from picking someone they're sure won't be voted out.
Who else has been suggesting this particular strategy?

Real talk, m8s
I like sloon’s suggestion of keeping a strong town voice or two, but might it also be a good move to try and kill obvious town when we see it?
Mafia still has to kill at night, and they might as well kill the towniest like usual, decreasing our odds of finding towniest. So each day will start anew finding our towniest voices. Is that a viable strategy? Hmm
Luckbox is my current towniest read. Cant place why
Hot take: This is wolf Sloonei's attempt to slot himself as the "Obvious town leader to murder in F5" given how he is generally viewed/read in mafia games.
Yeah you did.![]()
This game's weird, but hey, at least it's chill so far and not high-posting like some tend to be.

I phone post and the mentions always seem to get messed up when I try and then you posted a response to ruri right after my post so what would have been the point of doing that a second time? Hmm yeah I think slooneis idea makes sense to try and keep some strong town voices alive to keep the discussion going for the first few days at least. I think then after awhile people become a little more talkative in general (aside from the post limit) as we have more to go off of.
