Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 6]

Yeah well I've lynched a Suit in a tight 1-on-1 lynch, a lynched Sorceror might help quell doubts about me. Usually circumstances convince everyone of my civvieness by now. No luck this game!

If Russ is Suit, who do you think the final one is then?

I wanna hear from Made. Suspects, thoughts, anything.

I'm tempted to vote Russ too now. Really want to lynch a Sorceror to get a bit of fucking civ cred.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 6]

Nice post, timmer. I was going to do something like that myself but I think you put a better case than I would have.

I think voting off any of the people not playing is helpful right now. If the game gets to the point in which there's weak cases and nobody really stands out by all means lets start culling the dead weight, but right now it feels like a cop out.

I'm going to put my vote on DH and leave it up to someone to convince me he's not a Suit. If he flips that way, the last one is either Daisy or Snowy in my opnion. Both seem linked to him.

In regard to juliets' curse, Made was very quiet on the contents of his message. He said it involved a shape or some shit. How possible is it he was lying about his curse?

bea, my wand vote doesn't look good, you're right, but that was only in reaction to the unwarranted and unexplained trust MP was receiving for it. I believe I initially voted LC maybe, don't quote me on it, but Dom had a vote more so I switched hoping somebody would turn up or swap over. I was just worried about MP getting it.

Snow Dog, I really hope you reconsider. Maybe take a break and see how you feel?

I'm a bit annoyed today thinking about all the players who've simply not shown up this game. Likelihood is they're all disinterested civs who are missing a great game and making it seriously hard for the rest of us.

About Daisy:
timmer wrote:All of this reads like detached baddie or indy to me, except the Dom vs Bass lynch where you went BIG against Dom. I think you are a Suit.
I believe the last two Suits are either her, DH or Snowy. Your point about her suspecting LC (in theory a teammate) a little but not too hard, works if DH is her teammate as well, as he was in her Top 3 Suspects but saying she's just unsure about him.
timmer wrote:If MP chose SD as his narrator, which makes sense as a good choice, and he knows her role, it doesn't mean she is CIV. It means he knows her role and needs her alive otherwise he DIES. And the only way he could make that happen, in a situation where she is getting looked at, is to promote her as a civ. It's entirely self-serving on his part (and understandable of course). So if she is his narrator, it is NOT an indicator of alignment.
You could be right about MP and Daisy, I'd forgotten about the death factor. I feel better about him than I did but you raise a huge point that shouldn't be ignored.

My thoughts on LC are all over the place, can't get a decent read on him. He seems genuine and civ one post, then tetchy and insincere in the next. Did he ever say which team he was silenced by?

S~V~S I tend to believe is Snape. Obviously it's possible she's also Voldemort but he can't summon a patronus (like that in Lily's avatar). Unless I've read the situation incorrectly and she isn't likely responsible for Lily. Someone correct me if that is the case.

juliets is always hard to read, but nothing of hers has struck me as odd. timmer I've never played with but I generally feel quite good about. Seems genuine. Only thing that has me wondering about him is that he's offered himself twice to take the wand and helmet (if I remember correctly).

Russ is an interesting one I can't place, hasn't really got that involved compared to the other game I've played with him. I thought he was possibly a Suit before Bass' lynch.

bea appears to be silenced, I'd like to hear what she has to say about your suspicions as I've generally found her sincere.

What exactly is it that makes you think I could be bad? I don't recall you mentioning my name until Rox did and you still haven't really expressed any reasons for this.

Urgh, clearly I'm not articulating very well today. Am I fixated on voting? No. Is it the ONLY way to build a case? NO. Am I avoiding looking at thread evidence completely? No (MP, again with the hyperbole). Do I believe the thread is good for catching baddies? YES. But voting patterns can be a good basis for case building. We've just had a close vote between two baddies, which way everybody came down on can be very helpful when looking through their previous votes.

I'd have felt better if you'd have offered to take the Ring because you'd be helping protect a civ from recrimination for taking it. One of us has to or a baddie will get it.

Of course I have a natural distrust of a "neutral" role because you don't really have to care who wins. We don't know whether you really do, what you're capable of and how your secrets will affect the rest of us. And while I am annoyed, I'm less worried about you. I would be even less so if you had made the gesture I asked of you in taking the Ring, but it's a moot point now.

The thread is subjective and you know that. Evidence of that is my "worrying behaviour" which time will tell is actually healthy mistrust.

Jeez, MP, can you not do brevity. I shall respond in a concise version of your tone.

Tell me what about this is unclear, MP, I am not going to accept your word because you think I should. That IS absurd. Have you read your role type? Are you an Indy? What is the logic in us just accepting all your intentions as you give them? You're not more trusted? Explain people voting for you to get the wand for no reason at all? Do I have any more info that voting patterns? Do you? How is my behaviour concerning? Am I asking questions in a mocking tone just to annoy you? Did you do this to me? Who knows?

I apologise for having my own opinions and expressing them about a non-civ role, yours, and not blindly agreeing with you. You should be worried about the ones staying silent on the subject.

I addressed Roxy's concerns when I read them. Which I only did when she stated I had not responded to them, as I have been planning my proposal I'm had intermittent periods in which I haven't paid full attention. My knowledge of the Ring is from the literature and media. It corrupts its bearer and tries to get back to its creator, Sauron. Powerful individuals could become vengeful god-like beings if corrupted by its power. Normal men are most easily corrupted I believe. If a civ bears it they will most likely be in a lot of danger and if a baddie gets it they will probably be more powerful.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Night 5]

You're being absurd. You're saying you should have less skeptism but your win conditions aren't known because you have secrets. We don't know if they affect the win conditions we know about.

It is our highest concern. We should decide, right now at night, whether to give you a pass or not. Fact is you're not civ and we all know it. We should decide whether to trust you at your word or not. Then when lynch time does approach we can focus on lynching a bad guy. Stop saying we shouldn't consider lynching you because we should, you may have no interest in helping us. You can be very influential because everybody knows and likes you but not considering lynching you is the truly absurd concept here, don't pretend it isn't. You don't get trust points because we know you're not on a team.

What concerns can I speak to? The ONLY person who has actually given ANY reason to suspect me is Roxy, which I have addressed. My voting record. I voted very early for Bass. None of my other votes have counted yet. What do you want me to say about that? Everybody else have only mentioned me in passing, like yourself, despite the fact I'm not on any suspect list. Suspecting me for suspecting's sake. You've given no reason yourself, just I should be looked at. I don't want to invite you to try to make a case against me, but what reason have I given you not to trust me? (Asking for an Indy's trust, priceless :)) People should trust me because I'm a civ trying my best. I can't give you any evidence or out myself, sorry about that.

My top suspects are Snow Dog and DharmaHelper. Try looking at their voting records.

Did I say I demand you take the Ring? Don't be dramatic, ask for the Ring and actually help us out. I won't ever vote for you if you do.

We? You're not civ, I am. It's up to the other civs to trust me or not.

I never said I was going to ignore you, MP, but it doesn't mean I'm going to believe you either. Everything you said may well be true but as an Indy your primary concern is your win conditions. Are you going to vote for a player if they're one of your recruits and you believe they're a baddie?

Now nobody is going to target you at night incase they end up in a 1 on 1 lynch, so whether to trust you or not is, in my opinion, our highest concern moving into a new lynch. Seen as you outted yourself, it's only fair you accept this (hopefully short) debate and not throw a NO U back.

Epi has said this isn't a voting thing. I want you to take the Ring so the rest of us aren't in danger from having it.

Roxy wrote:zeek voted for Bass Day 4 I think bc Bass was not around he was very easy to toss under the bus for zeek but he never showed any interest in the DF case and actually was pushing a DH lynch that whole day. Also i would add that I had posted suspicion of zeek earlier and zeek, who seems to respond to everything, never even mentioned it. Which is why I made a :ponder: post under his post that day.
I've literally just searched your posts and read that. I never saw it because, I dunno, personal stuff. I've been a little behind since then. Feel free to vote for me, Rox, because I am different in this game. I play every game according to my role. Ask bea, I was messaging her in Who saying how my voice is my only power (hence the volume of posts I made). I have more to offer this time, as everyone does.

On the other hand, I like playing with Dom, and I felt bad that he got stuck in the two-man-lynch situation, so I hoped he'd survive and keep playing. I chose logic over emotion in my vote, but both sides were in play for me.

As for my DH-lynching activities... well, you seem to be right, you can't be on both baddie teams. You've got me there, it's true. :srsnod:
I think DH is a suit. He ignored the case on DF, DF voted to save him, and he went after Dom during the Bass lynch.
DH could be a Suit but tbh I do not think so I think the other Suit is Zeek. Check out Zeek's posts and voting record it tells the whole story.
Is this a joke? I voted very early for Bass. I'm not bad at all, Suit or otherwise.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 5]

I haven't caught up and I won't properly until tomorrow but I'm noticing TH and DH saying things like "Civ with no reason to be careful" or "Baddies lie in Mafia." Everybody is careful and everybody lies, good or bad.

Gonna be honest, this sounds false.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 5]

Oh dear lord. What a night to miss, sorry I've only just got here.

For what it's worth I'm sorry this has happened again, Dom. I can see why you're so annoyed.

I don't really know what to say tbh, except, wow.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Night 4]

I'm confused as to why we're going to a tie? It's up to the Doctor to choose one of us to make contact with, right? Doesn't matter if one or five of us votes for them.

Don't vote for me, Snowy, go for someone else.

Rox, we don't know what the Doctor's secret power is. He may regenerate again so they may want to take the chance.

Epi, is the spelling in the last host post meant to mock our British spelling or what? :P
