Greater Idea Burglary is probably my Civ win I am most proud of.
Death Note Mafia is my mafia win I’m most proud of.

Re: Anniversary Game 4 - Staff vs AtE D1
Catching me eye from one read thought:
lucy inquiring a lot of people on their meta.
Moonwink and Epignosis evasive on this inquire
Epignosis familiar, can perhaps chalk it up to standard banter.
Haven't played with either lucy or Moonwink though, is this generic or town-lean play from them?
Don't think TSP posted anything besides banter and that "spacedaisy v" comment that I don't get what it means.
What's your take?

Re: Anniversary Game 4 - Staff vs AtE D1
For me, the subtext of the ruling is rather that "only votes cast in poll count". I'm inclined to announce my vote, even if not necessary. Would be inclined to question votes cast directly in the poll (without reasoning), so a post would be used up for that anyway.

don't feel like I have anything else to say atm other than re-iterating my activity for D1 will be fairly low; expect practically no activity from me once it goes beyond 24 hours from now. D2+ should be much better.
I have not played mafia in three or four years and no plans beyond this game.
Usual MO was to post a lot, play serious, try to win. My mafia quality used to be hecking cool and sometimes get caught. My town quality was to be pisspoor and lose.
Read strengths usually bit shit.
Last year of playing I just chaos'd and dgaf'd - which I don't plan for this game, given its anniversary occasion.
Sure, I'll look into it.lucy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 3:21 amepi is a disciplinarian?

I saw Rico ask about this.
Also he asked about Lucy, Dolby and Moon, I think. I guess they all are within normal range.
Imo, Lucy is a weirder than usual rn. The mechanical way of asking people what their experience is. I mean, sure. She can talk about how she wants to use it and what she gains from it.
I liked how Moon responded to Lucy's question. Saying he doesn't have a preference for how she should approach him. I wouldn't call it evasive as much as holding his cards close to his chest. Evasive would in my mind imply he wasn't direct, but I felt he was very direct. I guess Epi was "evasive", but I personally don't care.
Dolby can post a lot or slank. He's a good player as both alignments. I'm hoping he'll post a lot, cause it's just better for the game when people do, but we'll see.
Didn't read Moon's "where's the fun in telling you / don't want you to know" quite as direct as you put it.

Also, like, a number of people aren't contributing much right now so not even worth to consider higher-posting players atm imo

Re: Anniversary Game 4 - Staff vs AtE D1
Halfway D1 list
Town lean
Martin - effort and read depth vibe best of all right now; slightly not sure what to read into his hesitancy to judge some players based on previous games/previous errors of judgement; blank vote on a low-player out of a generous basket thus far, but claims he is looking into something, fine
Daisy - effort and read depth vibe second best of all right now
Dizzy - not quite on best behaviour early on (banter opening statements, including being maf, blank Moon vote), but can get (or simply wouldn't overthink it atm) behind the rallying sentiment for activity and the scrutiny shown in others' reads
Complete null
Violet - totally inactive
Epignosis - I'm fine with his MO-question deflecting, though on the basis of remembering that is much-like-him; early pings on TH and Moon, not expanded since (due to no more activity)
Null towards sus
Dolby - one post out of three that can somewhat constitute interaction (answering MO) and picking small details/nuances off lucy; for a poster stating intent to not "do stuff", it's not nothing atm
Ruri - one hello and one post placing themselves in same camp with Boquise (though the detail picked on Moon's vote isn't blank)
TSP - early Day posts, nothing since; semblance of reading Moon (via Epig's ping) and some ping on Epig
Boquise - admits low-active rhythm, but drops a town read on Daisy, corrects TH (on something long corrected) for some reason, banter post towards Epig's banter post; can understand the relaxed take Daisy shared, though unfamiliar with their MO, but as far as that vote goes, don't find anything productive about it
Jack - banter MO answering camp, nothing else
TripleHaven - there's effort, but once re-read, there's also v reads thrown at blank and the bit where Moon gets suss'd for not answering MO and Dizzy gets townread for claming wolf; don't get quite a sense of it all, but it's most inching towards a full sus out of this tier
Suss
lucy - early high-posters, but it all amounts to inquiring on meta; in light of no read process off of info received, there's no inherent cred to award to this effort
Moonwink - 7am wakeup to game start had my vibe quickly set (tho clueless on MO) on her sliding past MO answers as not awesome; embraces her chaos playing; slow pace to get serious so far;

Think TripleHaven answered in more recent posts, still nothing from Boquise.
It was on the sus side at that halfway point because - whilst admittedly absent since - it was the only thing you did and it did not develop. Profiling or asking for meta info doesn't have inherent value until you develop reads or read into the reactions received.lucy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 9:43 pmwhy's it sus, don't you remember quotes verbatim for at least a few days? furthermore I was not "appearing to solve" or anything, instead I was copy pasting the exact same question at players, I don't understand how that is suspicious when it's so fucking blatantly doing nothing for anyone else, rather I'm strictly helping myself solve in a lobby of players I haven't played with before

At least, not intentionally. 18 posts by that point, by a player I don't expect to top-post and yet is top-posting with that almost half-way into d1, makes my gut yell they're town. Partially because I've also done that sort of read before and have been right about it.Epignosis wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 8:31 pmHow hard is it to be the top poster with 18 posts?MartinGG99 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 5:34 pm I'm surprised that TH is the top-poster at 18 posts so far lol
If I wanted to make a stupid leap of faith and ignore my past reading mistakes with them I would say they're probably town for this
which I might just to avoid thinking about that
Why is being the top poster meaningful?
It's kinda dumb, but it seems to hold up in my experience. Top-posting beyond d1 though I tend to ignore, as wolves can post more easily with the greater amount of content/discussion topics that have occurred by then.

I'm still the same. If it's not your MO to detail reads this early, fine, but your questioning method doesn't amount to much on its own. As town, it would be an ok effort, but not cred-gaining in any way. As mafia, it would seem like credible effort to look, but only surface level.

Sure, spoiler'd.
Chaos the way I used to do it was absolute non-collaborative and gimmicky game effort. Not invested in the slightest and disruptive to the point of, well, creating chaos in game. Imagine me just posting pictures of cats or wrinting only omlette au fromage. Full noise.
Chaos in Moonwink's style is rather a doing-whatever-you-want, playing free or gimmicky or improvising or cheeky or whatnot, not adhering to any serious playtone, creating a confusing state of reads and involvement in others' perspective (or at least my own)

Building off this
Not voting the green tier, apart from any massive ping. Would circumstance-wise pass TSP for toDay.
Probably still null on Epig, said his weekend was busy and last bit of activity was about how I'd imagine him having an hour to play here, quoting and answering step by step, working on pings.
Violet seems to step into it, but then stopped at #53 with a town read. mke
Vig choice still up in the air, how many suggestions were made?
Null towards sus listing about the same, except starting to feel better about Jack's latest stuff and maybe worse about Boquise, there's really nothing + blank vote.
And finally, my low list is still there out of more or less principled takes on how I view their MOs.
TH is snap-reading and reading-into-meta at times, but everytime I revisit his ISO, something feels thin.
lucy is profiling, but at the same time not willing or warmed up to do reads out of it.
Moonwink is resolute idiosyncratic, votes flying everywhere, pings-formulaic.
If asked which of the three I'd let another Day to see them develop better stuff or shake off the trend above, vibes-mostly, I'd feel a tad more optimistic re: TH & lucy than Moonwink.

Lucy didn't ask for explanation on reads, lucy had asked general chat what their read is.Boquise wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 5:04 pmI do not love this post either. Ricochet shares a list (salad) of vague reads. Lucy asks him to explain said reads. Ricochet gripes, "Not sure what you're expecting of me." He is expecting substantiated reads.Ricochet wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 5:17 am I'm still the same. If it's not your MO to detail reads this early, fine, but your questioning method doesn't amount to much on its own. As town, it would be an ok effort, but not cred-gaining in any way. As mafia, it would seem like credible effort to look, but only surface level.
The paragraph that follows is jargon about info-lynching. I continue to disapprove of that strategy.
Boquise wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 5:29 pm How to Make Player Salad: A Guide
Player Salad is the signature dish of The Syndicate. Those of you who have been following this tournament closely may have seen one of our head chefs, JaggedJimmyJay, teach the recipe to his fellow townies in Game 6. Player Salad is a dish which can sometimes confound people, but it's really quite simple. The basic recipe is this: "I could lynch Player X, Y, or Z. Maybe W." I am not one to rigorously argue for "mafia tells", but for whatever reason this one has an unusually high success rate. I suppose the above-mentioned configuration suggests that the player lacks conviction, and simultaneously feels a need to compensate for that lack of conviction by lumping several players together in an indistinguishable blend of suspicion: A salad, if you will. I will not say that it is 100% accurate or foolproof, but I give it some weight. So when I see the formula reproduced exactly by Ricochet:
I involuntarily raise both my eyebrows and place a vote for him. Note that he was somebody I suspected prior to this. I am not voting for him strictly because he typed those three bolded names in that exact manner. But I think there is some merit to "Player Salad", and I view it as supplementary to a larger suspicion here anyway.Spoiler: show
I can give a more thorough read on Ricochet later. Right now it is 5:30 in the morning and I've just marathoned my way through this thread overnight so that I could be somewhat informed if I manage to also be awake at the deadline, which I hope to do. I urge people to look into Ricochet if I pass out momentarily. He is comfortably my top suspect after having read the thread in one sitting.
I made the point before, but since I haven't played in years, I've chosen serious playing for this occasion and, in doing so, am going by past instincts and methods. The readlists and the low v-read threshold, irrespective of quality perceived, is a given from me.
3. still not sure I can stay till EOD, but right now, yes

Fair, though before returning, I had stopped with the very analysis you labeled salad, so that's where I was at in saying about others.Boquise wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 5:42 pm I am far too sleep deprived to give you a satisfying answer at the moment, but suffice to say that none of these are what I'm implying. On the surface it's just an observation of Player Salad™, no more and no less. My vote is on you primarily because of a larger suspicion I had around this particular post of yours. I highlighted a couple other posts of yours in my catch-up.
But I'm less interested in what you could say in defense, and more interested in what you have to say about other players. So just continue doing your thang and I'll check back in once I've had some rest. I apologize for dropping the beginnings of a case and then leaving, but this is a but this is a tight schedule for me.
There is more content now, but I cannot in earnest say I'll be time left to do my thang on it all at this stage.

Ruri wagon feels like throwing D1 down the drain to me, there is no info or reads on them besides the very three people pushing it.
Dizzy is all over and has resorted to lynch inactive out of all avenues.
Jack strikes me ever since that tie comment as either confused or possibly stirring chaos.

Re: Anniversary Game 4 - Staff vs AtE D2
Morning. Not much in reading the last posts. My #1 and #2 sus of yesterDay seemed to have a shared a moment of "so are you gonna do actual reads today".
Bottom line, I still wait to see real read process that both have stalled on.
lucy, if D1 is not your day of developing reads, will it be toDay?
during Night 1 in BTSC with Dizzy, we were given further options with the snowmagic/magic event mechanic. We agreed to use magic and target you. No info on what the mechanic did, if it turned out to be a block, welp
then lucy also read it as most logical, so perhaps Moon assumed likewise? ech

Do you have a pair of people that doesn't include us three that probably aren't scum together?
To answer your question, my mind doesn't work like that, and certainly not this early. Although I'm not altogether sure what you're asking for, since why would you want to work with me and Spacedaisy if one of us is bad? What does "work with" mean here?

Dunno how Nanook enforces AtE policy in other games, but it's probably ability-related, given the theme of this game.
