I didn't catch any hints at the questioning, until Eloh said one would be allowed mention if he was chosen to question or such and MM & Epi started doing that, but I had a feeling the questioning ability didn't work too well.

I had a feeling Epi was up to no good. In fact, I was thinking of running a gambit that Eloh must have definitely cast her spouse as bad, just like he cast her as mafia in Biblical, but then I forgot to run it.
My spacedaisy read was still the best read I ever had in mafia so far and nothing can take that away.

Pretty much, although I only received "meals" (sandwiches, croissants or, worse, a bloody waffle!) and drinks when flying with Lufthansa; god forbid I get more than a smile with the low cost company. Not that I need meals much for one-two flight hours - you probably fly longer, though. As for fun, I usually entertain myself. Music, movie, tv episodes - I have more stuff stored on my tablet than money in my pocket.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Florida --> Chicago --> San Fran --> Eugene. I don't recommend flying. It's expensive and usually not fun. Oh and it's near impossible to find a good meal.
As for recommending it, idk. I was shit scared of ever flying, then when I had no choice and got in my first plane (17 yrs, to Paris) I was all "weeeeeee" as soon as we took off. It only got bad one time was when my hearing shut down during a flight (err let's say i don't remember how old ) - of course I acted like a complete n00b and felt that I'm farked and my life is over.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
I'm sorry, but no. You made it very clear that his lack of avatar is the main issue, including to him. Nowhere in your posts, since he showed up, do I find you stating that you feel better about him, in order to switch to TH.thellama73 wrote:Great points by Ricochet. I like the way he is playing. The reason I ultimate didn't vote for MP (who I still think is a girl) is that his posts read extremely cig to me once he actually showed up. Too bad about TH though.
It only adds, to me, that you intend to blur the lines between MP and TH as inactive players, between which it was easy or justifiable for you to switch. Nevertheless, you still called MP the "best option" for his avatar issue and that alone, then never stood by it.
thellama73 wrote:She's not going to get modkilled, because Eloh doesn't do those things. She might get replaced, but that doesn't make her more likely to be good. It's only a waste of a lynch if she is not mafia. Right now, we can't find out whether she is mafia or not, because she has robbed us of our only way of doing so by not having an avatar. Seems like the best option to me.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Pretty much.
MP is bad scenario: distancing is the only way, because teamies acting casual about MP's missing avatar is the worse path to take. And it gives plenty of space for Llama to tailor his hunt on MP in a professional way. Town cred gain if MP is lynched. His reason for suddenly pushing TH instead could be a way of not going all the way through with sacrificing MP.
MP is civ scenario: easy smoke screens to construct, again because MP's missing avatar and his/TH's inactivity being exploitable issues. Civs lost Omerta because they lynched one oddball player after another, so again, very exploitable. If both TH and MP get lynched, boom, 2 civs down + 2 more civs night killed, 8 to 4 by Day 3.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Oh joy.
---
Of TH's four voters, Spacedaisy sealed the deal, pushing TH at 4, with DDL at 3 and MP at 2. Now, she did make an eloquent recap of the Day and reasoning of her vote choice, despite not being very active throughout the Day, but that's actually what gives me pause a bit. Remember who she was the last time she made eloquent, if sporadic posts, that got her little to no suspicion/heat and made her sail to victory? Kami!
In complete contrast, Black Rock's four posts throughout Day 1 are half fluff, half wagony (agreeing with Llama and Splints that TH's situation isn't an issue for a lynch), so her posts look worse, but it makes me recall she's done this in the past and got mislynched for it...Mary! She could be intentionally playing the same card again, of course, but idk what to think.
G-Man's Day 1 posts should mostly be in orange and green (not literally, but you get my point) and he himself defended his way of being more jokey at the beginning of the game. His suss on TH missing actually dates before Llama actively got the votes rolling. And in light of what I'm about to point about Llama, it is interesting to note that G-Man went along with everything that Llama proposed. Kinda fishy.
And now let us turn to the Switcheroo Detection Game. I know Llama will appreciate this, even though it's about him, because he does it regularly on others.
Llama's first suspect choice
Backlash at players disapproving of his hunt idea? Check.
Breaking apart players' disapproving arguments (the newbie stances)? Check. And double check.
Heightened suspicion when the suspected player starts showing signs of rectifying or fine tuning his behaviour (like suddenly showing up)? Check.
Pretty consistent hunting from him, right? Given that his main reason for wanting to lynch MP was the avatar issue, you'd think a player like Llama would stick with this hunt and vote accordingly, especially since MP still failed to provide the avatar, right? [following quotes snipped a bit to point out only the relevant part]
One could say that for him MP and TH were in the same boat for being inactive, but his reads on them are actually not of the same caliber.
His reasons for voting MP? Solid: Lack of avatar, affecting the mechanics of the civilian night game.
His reasons for voting TH? Mellow (Mercy kill, "It would be the kind thing to do.") and/or jokey ("to piss everyone off (...) when I vote for non-participants or people who <<have not had the chance to defend themselves.>>").
Llama is bad and will probably get my vote.
My trust-o-meter on the other three is pretty low, as well, right now.
Ricochet wrote:Then again, he developed an apathy in Omerta as well, players flocked to lynch him (uhm eventually), flipped civ.
RIP TH. I know inactives aren't helping the civ cause, but I think it'd still be nice to primarly hunt with the mentality of catching mafia, not of mercy killing or cleaning up civ who aren't playing.Ricochet wrote:Biblical, after going AWOL? Civ.

Topics:
MP - Torn. He seems our oddballer candidate right now and we all know how well D1 oddball lynches go. We did start the game unwilling to wait for him any longer, didn't we? Then again, I agree there's more depth to this issue, mainly because the avatar is a central aspect of this game. Slightly less so, if we will be allowed to ask questions about "non-existent" features. Since he actually signaled his presence, yet hasn't fixed the avatar issue, it's either: a) kinda bad form if he's civ, because the incentive to ask questions about him is quite high now and we'd be basically burning a question; or b) he's in the Mafia and I can see the team as a whole liking the idea to toy around with this issue; plus I also agree with Golden's idea that MP, if Mafia, could potentially also tailor his avatar a bit (or under team guidance), at this point.
Rox/Splints - Not sensing coattaling, at this point. I agree either of them could have taken their stance first and stick with it. From their individual posts, I only find Roxy's newbie stance on MP kinda clunky. He's neither new, nor returning - he played Omerta and so did Roxy; the fact that she got night killed early shouldn't be a factor. Him returning after Omerta - which was like a month ago - isn't exactly a return, either.
TH - Inactive player of the thread right now, although I'd slightly consider Hedge too, despite her one post (which wasn't of any real contribution whatsoever, but was made very early on). I can see him staying that way, because he's apparently on a kind of "athelete hangover" since playing Champions or something. Then again, he developed an apathy in Omerta as well, players flocked to lynch him (uhm eventually), flipped civ. Biblical, after going AWOL? Civ. I know it's a tight game to allow inactives and non-contributors to stay on board (and that the Mafia will more than generously agree never to dispose of them), but I sorta smell a mislynch nonetheless. One day pass sounds ok with me.
DDL's takes? A bit edgy, but not enough for a suspicion, imo, and can dig his explanation that it's his way of pushing things.
The thread started spreading since and I'm sorry, but it's 3am and less than half an hour to go. Going with MP for the avatar issue. G'night.

G'night.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Haha total gender mayhem domino
Despite being a tennis bro, pinged a bit by Timmer taking the non-contributor vote route. He concludes MP is not on his bad vibes list, although earlier he said he doesn't really dig MP's explanation for suspecting Splints but not Roxy. Not finding a link in his other posts between his early take and his clearence of him right now - except maybe this post?

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Catching up, because the bit I kept up with was before the thread exploded from 1 to 4 pages.
Off-topics first.
Eloh chatting with us is fine. Also, she seems a more friendly host than Episcopalian, although also keener to modkill. Mixed feelings about that.
Both DDL and Llama repeatedly call MP a "she". Oh, and then Timmer too. Are they trying to impersonate me? Splints got it right, apparently a woman can tell.

No. And she had a milkshake, so I went with a limonade myself, because coffee isn't my thing.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Did the mafia buy coffee for a girl one night?
Nice post, tennis bro. I never caught Agassi playing.Timmer wrote:LOL, I'm glad you guys see my point. I'm watching Wimbledon right now, and am reminded of years ago watching a young Federer vs an old Agassi in the U.S. Open. Federer was throwing himself at every point, running, leaping, and ultimately winning. Agassi knew his back had a limit and reached for the points he knew he had a good chance to get, but if a shot was a certain distance away, he just calmly let it go and walked to his mark for the next serve. It was a cool life lesson in maturity and acceptance. Now, when I watch an older Federer, he's getting the same way, though he's not at Agassi's point yet.
I see mafia vets in the same light.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
I like that Hedgeowl is misspelled, but nijuukyugou isn't.
Not sure I get the "Civillians will be receiving specific information about players concerning their avatar." part from the rules. As in when a nominated player will ask a question during Nights or will there be more than that?
I have a date tonight, which is my idea of independence these days, but I should be able to make it back in time not to miss voting.
