Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 10

I'm up for a TH vote, tranq.

@MM - the timing and lots of other stuff... I mean, I agree there are still good reasons to suspect timmer. In some ways, timmer being lynched could make a lot of things clear. But, when the one theory I had I now think is wrong (that timmer had items, and knew he was killig epi with an obisidian dagger) it is harder for me to judge the rest of my case. It was that part of the case which made me feel sure.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 10

Bass has fallen off my radar a lot but splints post has reminded me of a lot of the reason I found him suspicious in the early game. I could be on board with a bass vote.

I don't know if timmer is good but I'm pretty sure he has been honest about the obsidian dagger. I don't think he knew what it was. That's why I've not been pursuing him as much.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 10

@tranq - the other question of relevance is... why is it ok to mention the poisoning today but not yesterday? Just an attempt to paint me as suspicious for misremembering what day I got poisoned on?

But, on the other hand, TH has a point... why mention it at all. It's not like it created a whole lot of traction for a lynch on me. :ponder:

I don't understand it either way.

As for lorab - I have no reason to assume she is good and I actually spent a large chunk of this game feeling like she had posted a lot but her thoughts were within quite a limited range. In that respect, I still think LoRab could be bad. But on recent days I've felt her content is more civ like, and I also have a theory that she is in a particular role that I think might be civ. I don't intend to vote for LoRab today.

Dom, do you think Matt F tried to kill you?

I have to say, I completely agree with this:
S~V~S wrote:Matt becasue he is not really *feeling* the tinfoil. I think he's trying to find tinfoil acceptable to the crowd at large, and he just isn;t finding it.
I think the other bit - Matt trying to be less tunnelly, is genuine and could be town or bad.. I think we will see it from Matt going forward. But this bit is something I agree with. I think Matt's current tinfoiling lacks a feeling of being genuine. I also have been sitting on a theory for a while that Matt himself is Dr Dre, and he has been trying to push it onto MM.

Matt - I'd have to look back at your posts to see if you could be Witherdeath or not. It's hard to rule out anyone from being in circle right now, for me, except those people I have solid reasons to trust.

I still also suspect splints & TH.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 9

I've done a lot of thought about the likelihood of the Living Statue to be civ.

I tend to think it more likely the role gets recruited by a baddie.

The advantage a baddie team would have is that if one of their people get the gem and then die, the rest of their team would still know where the gem is and would be able to complete the task. If a civ died with the gem, this wouldn't be so easy. The baddies also have the advantage of getting to know more about what is on each square by covering more squares per day, given they have non-square related btsc.

On the other side of the coin is that there are more civs (or at least at game start there were).

It could go either way.

I think that if anyone has the ability to do so, finding out DFaraday's role could help. His absence from the day 6 poll seemed most noteworthy to me, and I suspected he might be Blinkman. But who knows for sure.

Trickster, although it's unclear to me if that ability can be used on themself upon death, it says "causing a lynched person to seem as though they were the role of his choice". LC/BR, can trickster use this ability on themself?

That reminds me of another thought I had.

LC/BR - what if the Trickster chose to use their seemer ability on the last person to die from a team? Would we still be immediately told the team is dead?

I've been thinking very hard about Wilgy over the last couple of hours.

I still believe I have a lot of evidence that he is on Witherdeath. I find this scenario far more likely than him being on the circle of decay. His vote for me, given team Witherdeath ought to have relatively unique knowledge of my poisoning, only reinforces this further for me.

I don't see any evidence linking him to team circle. I think I'd find it slightly more likely that he is town than circle. But if he was circle, it would be fantastic to take one out.

Very good questions. Did Mac vote anyone other than Floyd yesterday? And I've been wondering, would temporary votes count, or only votes at end of day. Cos if it is the first, then looking at the polls alone might not work.

Another potential theory... the Golem is civ-aligned (or watching over someone civ-aligned) and they have sat on the ability to kill Mac for a while, but recently decided they thought he was bad?

@splints - as with timmer and the obsidian dagger - we have the cursecrafter out there making usable items that are potentially harmful. I am keeping that idea in mind. But all my suspicions at this point have counterarguments. I still have to be honest about who I suspect.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 9

Well TH perhaps I am paranoid but there a few things involved here...

You specifically raising Dr Dre not being in the poll was a ping for me. And I'm not saying you are lying about LP, I'm saying that the fact Dre was civilian in that game is convenient for you - and while I previously perceived that particular exchange as civilian looking, when I read it back I realised that if you are bad, it would really benefit you to bring up that point.

These things don't make you bad, but you have definitely earned an eye from me. I'm suspicious of several people for how they've played, and that includes you right now. But I admit, none of my suspicions are massive - they are based around theories of the game, and what is going on in it. That's just the way my brain works.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 9

My thoughts are pulling me in a lot of directions today.

I still think Wilgy could be the last Witherdeath, but on the other hand they don't get a kill tonight.
I think splints could have been responsible for that beacon, and I think that feels like the actions of a baddie.
And I'm tempted to vote TH, to start figuring out this Dr Dre thing, because in some ways it feels to me like it could be the most malevolent threat. As I've thought about it more over the last couple of days, TH's 'the role was civilian last game' could be him providing the most information, but it could also be him intentionally misleading.

They feel like the three I'm most suspicious of right now... so I could see my vote going any of those ways. I'm going to start with TH for now.

@Lorab - I'm also really interested to start having some convo with you today - I feel like I haven't been doing much of that yet, and I'm interested in your thoughts on the Feral Pixie, your thoughts on Mac's death - those two things in particular.

I'll admit, I've been focussed a bit on the beacon because its destruction blew me off course a couple of days ago. Tomorrow night I should get back to where I was originally trying to go on night 7, so at least it wasn't too bad, but it was annoying. I suspect it was splints who did it.
