Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 9]
Epi is never so nice when it comes to ties, but I do think we had one at the start and there was nothing to suggest it wasn't simply a coin flip. It implied the joker may have had a hand in deciding, but the joker is dead. Who knows.DFaraday wrote:At least I wouldn't have to wait in anticipation. I think the best point against Bubbles is that she actually has continued to turn up despite the fact she mostly isn't checking in on the lynches. So, if bubbles is lynched, I do have some hope. I just feel like she always gets lynched and comes back town for basically the same reasons.

I think LoRab is relying on being given a slightly easier ride for having been away for much of the early game. However, I also didn't like her responses to DF (I felt like DF was fairly clear) and, well, I'd prefer her as the lynch to DF or bubbles, basically.Dom wrote:What does this mean?Golden wrote:And I already gave in on glorfindel and I don't want to give in on two of my stronger town reads in two days. Stop telling people to read her? What on earth is that post Golden? Why? I'm encouraging people to make their own decision. I have discussed and will continue to discuss other suspects as well. What is your angle here?
There is a 'normal town' bubbles. Really clearly. If I was to suggest something to you, it would be go back and read bubbles in A World Reborn. She was way less straighforward in what she had to say than she is in this game. All these games as civ she just says what she thinks. Thats exactly what she has done here. But in World Reborn, totally different.

For all the criticism of Glorfindel, I felt he was really contributing. For example, his case on MM and his point about how lower posters were being killed off, perhaps because some killers are higher posters that didn't want to isolate themselves, were really unique thoughts that he brought to the table.
Bubbles, on the other hand, just started a new job (I know because she had to ask for a replacement in Zodiac) and so I know she is having a tough time contributing.
So you voted Bubbles because logic went out the window.
Stop telling people to read bubbles or just saying her posts 'are scummy'. Why are they scummy? They are the same as she usually is as town, what do you see as being different from normal town bubbles? It feels like you are the one who is clinging on to a view and refusing to move at all.

I think part of the challenge we're all having is that we're playing a game in which a third of the players are vanilla civs, and most of us are used there being no or almost no vanilla civs. So, there's a whole lot of people that we're not sure how to read/who are posting differently than what we're used to, regardless of what they're like as either civ or bad.
There aren't very many out and out baddies. That makes them hard to find.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 9]
Whats your point? On day zero, for example, I was pursuing MP and enrique to the ends of the earth, determined they were my top suspects. Now they are two of my top town reads. I put SVS through the ringer and came out the other side feeling she might be civ after all. Are you honestly trying to tell me my opinions haven't changed at all?Typhoony wrote:Civvies thoughts will progress and evolve as the game goes on. They start with 0 knowledge. As information (ie posts etc) gets dropped in the thread, they will learn more about the game. Their thoughts can and will change more often.
Baddies' thoughts less so, simply because they have more knowledge at the start of the game and generally have a better grip on what is going on.
Typhoony, you are completely wrong about me, but you are someone I think would know my game style relatively well, so I think you ought to be able to think about this twice. I think you've been so hung up in this concept that I would be open about my role but this is just not something I'd be willing to do in any circumstances. Not because I'm mafia. Not because I'm an inmate. Just because I'm not willing to do it. If you move past the fact that you suspect me for that, I think you'll recognise that I've played a very open game where I have shared heaps of reads and they have absolutely moved organically as the game has moved.

Yeah, this is basically how I feel.juliets wrote:I am not having very much luck today on who to vote for. Someone else said this and I feel similarly that my leaning bad reads are all gone. There has been evidence brought about DH but he has not been around since Friday to respond to it. I don't agree right now with either Typh or Dom being bad. I understand what your saying Golden but I can't suspect someone off of your gut reads. I'm not seeing Golden bad either. Equivocate and ekenat haven't been here to send in kills, and Bass its hard to say because the field that tells the last time you were here in his profile is blank. So anyway, you get the picture. I'm tempted to vote Matt for not letting DH respond before voting him but that seems like a small reason to vote someone. If anyone has other ideas I'd love to hear them (btw I've noticed DH, SVS, and Enrique haven't been here this phase. I could see one of them being silenced but all three? Enrique said he would have declining participating but nothing during the whole phase?).

I disagree that a cop is the 'last civ role I can basically be'. As I already pointed out.
I could be slotting someone in to another role to make the baddies believe I'm not it.
I could be lying straight up about not being any particular role, just as anyone else would.
You seem to ignore the fact that I just don't want to role hint as being a perfectly reasonable explanation. I don't want to role hint. I've made this clear from the start, that it is something I will not do.
