Designated Survivor by way of OnDemand. It's entertaining but not very engrossing. There are equal amounts of intrigue and predictability. It makes me eager to watch another season of 24 this summer.

My wife and I watched the pilot episode of Designated Survivor the other night. It was decent but I kept waiting for Kiefer Sutherland to shoot somebody and shout "Do it now!" a la Jack Bauer.

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)
My wife and I just finished 24's 4th season. It was decent enough but having the arch-villain escape time after time grew stale for me. As big a plot as his associates planned, I have a hard time believing that they kept it all under the radar for so long. And who the heck bankrolled them?
Plenty of excitement and intrigue but I guess there's only so much originality you can pump into one guy saving the world for the fourth time. I guess I give it a B.

Episode 3 dipped in excitement but it had to. After all the shock and crazy of the murder scene and OJ's highway chase, I think it was bound to lag a bit. My wife and I just watched episode 4 last night. As someone who is a total legal nerd, I was fascinated by all the in-fighting among OJ's team and the conniving strategy during jury selection. It shows you just how close OJ's team came to blowing it and just how horribly screwed up the legal process was for such a high-profile case. I can't wait for the next episode.fingersplints wrote:They were excellent.G-Man wrote:The first two episodes of American Crime Story: The People v. If this show is an accurate portrayal of Robert Kardashian then he must be rolling in his grave over how poorly his children turned out.

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)
I plan on watching The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story when it debuts next week. I was 10 when he led the police on that chase and I still remember my relatives watching the trial and analysis any chance they got. The hooplah surrounding the trial was nuts and really pushed us into the era of 24-hour news coverage. The miniseries is based on Jeffrey Toobins book, which was very critical of the court proceedings but did not take a formal stance on OJ's innocence or guilt. I'm curious to see if the miniseries stays objective on the verdict or not.

Now that my wife is on maternity leave (no baby yet though), we're going to binge watch season 3 of 24. We may go for season 4 as well.
We've also been catching up on the Republican and Democratic debates. It's been difficult to watch more than an hour of either at a time.

We finally watched the finale for Under the Dome. Not bad but boy did they really go crazy on killing people off the second half of the season! The ending left me asking questions that may or may not poke holes in the whole egg-dome-cocoon timeline and necessity. Maybe they had to rush it but I thought season 3 was pretty good overall.

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)
I found out yesterday that Under the Dome has been cancelled. It's a shame because I think Season 3 has been pretty good. I hope they end it well and with closure.
This won't help my aversion to committing to TV shows.

Anyone going to watch Season 3 of Under the Dome? My wife and I are. It starts this week but old farts like us have to watch in On Demand the next day because 10:00 is too late for us to watch anything but the news.

My wife and I don't watch much TV. She actually watches more than I do. Right now, it's the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Once summer comes, we'll be taking in season 3 of Under the Dome. Hopefully it will be better than season 2 was. It was pretty hit or miss.
We'll also be binging on season 3 of 24 this summer. The first season was amazing. The second season was very good. I've been told good things about season 3.
Not sure if we'll get around to a Lost re-watch yet. Even though I was okay with the way the series ended, I feel like I can't fully commit myself to a TV show again because of it.
