Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
DDL will never trust me again after the Heroes of Olympus game where I got myself strong town cred and tricked town into wasting resources on my mafia scummate who could tank a lot by presenting him as the last remaining member of the other mafia. That teammate was Marco, who I have yet to lose with as mafia together(5-0 currently).

Yes well, don't spread it around too much, it will hurt my cold, detached image I have in games.Silverwolf wrote:Soneji-I'd like to publicly thank you for your kind comments in scum chat. Before anyone complains, I only got access out of concern for ika and only temporarily. I understand why it wasn't released and I thank the hosts for their consideration of ika and your kind comments as well.
I reached out to Ika earlier privately but as the game was still going on I didn't feel it appropriate to send that PM to you as well.
Hope to play with you two in the future.

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
On NF where I play the games with the one-third ratio are role madness games of 30+, most of the time with two(on rare occasions three) mafia teams. So if 30 players there would be ten mafia, five on each team(potentially 6-4 or even 7-3). Its balanced as well as RM can be and as I have learned from my interactions with those from other sites, what they consider role madness is tame compared to the beast it has become on NF. We love it though.

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
You didn't even mention the hardest part of the set-up, that being our low numbers. Mafia is usually one-third or one-fourth of the total players, in this game we had one-fifth the total players.
I seem to have the most success as mafia when its I and another top tier player in charge of a mixed group that mostly lay low.

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
It would have made a difference in the night arrest choice between Nero and TH. That may have given town the win, depending on if Epi could get a mislynch on chaindeath or Nero.

This game was really draining on me. I'm used to 24/24 with no talking at night. 48/24 with night posting is a killer, though I think it while generally pro-town is also somewhat pro-mafia as town loses it focus.

Ika defended your honor as nobly in our BTSC thread as he did in the main threadSilverwolf wrote:Thank You Daisy and soneji and also sig for what you said after I died!! Prisoner 509 and Sloonei were great at analysis and it was really me knowing ika and gut and stool pidgeon stuff that had me doing what I did.Spacedaisy wrote:Sloonei wrote:sorry i spent so much time and energy trying to get you lynched, quin and sig.
That CFD was amazing but it kinda doomed me personally in this game. It caused me to shake up so many of my reads from earlier in the game, and it turned out all of my new ideas were wrong and my old ones were much more on the right track.
Soneji had me fooled the whole time though. If it weren't for those last day shenanigans I was never going to vote for him. Very well played Soneji and the rest of you cops.
This is so very true for pretty much everyone but Silverwolf. Silverwolf has incredible instincts. However, I have never seen so many civs be so absolutely wrong and yet 100% they were right as I did in this game. People who usually have outstanding instincts as well. It was almost painful to watch at times.
Also, I have to share my own Slooneji story. Sloonei, you were originally supposed to be the Chief and soneji was supposed to be my Don, but because I flubbed and got Sloonei and soneji mixed up, I had to flip flop your roles because one of the role card messages was read as soon as I sent it. I felt like an idiot.
I needed to do a better job of explaining my reads. I am an emotional/passionate player and that distracts me sometimes. I was supremely frustrated with feeling like I wasn't being listened to but I didn't have a lot to go on, just gut and the fact I don't like lurkers and the stool pidgeon stuff. It was hard to read, coming back, some of the stuff said about me by indiglo. It wasn't personal but still hard to read.
That said, no hard feeling anyone!!
Damn about the BTSC, I really wanted to see how ika operated here.

I was both lamenting the civs waving away your reads based on meta and passion while also being thankful that they did as you had our entire team nailed. I know all too well the feeling of being so right in your reads but getting ignored, the trick is to do it so often people have to take notice

We kept you around as long as we did mainly to keep Ika happy :P

It would only truly be disappointing if I was town. Reading the mafia chat is one of my favorite parts of games when I'm town/indie. This does benefit me in the end, as now no one can truly see the depths of my villainy other then the hosts and my scummates

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
I triple checked several different things before submitting that and even then I was paranoid about being wrong. I think the main thing for me was that you misread TH's post about you being his Don(he was changing up the classic "brother from another mother" into "Don from another mother") and a post he made after the failed lynch on him, where he worries about being killed(but not arrested). There were other minor things that added to those but they were pretty major ones.Epignosis wrote:Soneji had incredible insight to arrest Nerolunar when he did. Were I around, I might have argued him out of it. We had tried to arrest Nerolunar before and it failed, so my thinking was Nerolunar and Sloonei were the Dons, and Turnip Head had one of two lynch stops (like we got).MovingPictures07 wrote:You really kicked ass. Sometimes.
Speaking of which, I'm still amazed that Soneji's double arrest succeeded so many times despite being mathematically improbable.

I want to thank Jay most of all, after the hosts, for sparking activity and making this game exciting. I probably would have just maintained my under the radar, catching up routine but when he entered it was like: new challenger approaching.
Silverwolf was also very spot on with her reads, loved her passion and feistiness.

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
Epi and I very much hinted towards the Prisoner not mattering. The game would be heavily unbalanced if the Cops had to rely on the town to take out the Dons to win, as the Dons were immune to the actions of the cops. Neither faction of town can meet their wincon if only the Dons remained from each family, so Cops win by default if only one of them is alive against both Dons.

I have been focusing on thinking through that. If Epi is a Don, I have to rethink my position on Elo due to his defending of her earlier and Sloonei and TH become suspects again, mainly TH who hasn't been around and was a viable suspect earlier. Nero and chaindeath then become quite probably teammates.Prisoner 509378 wrote:I think you're way too worried about "try again", and instead of focusing on that you should answer its call: if Epi is no longer the doubtless cop you painted him to be at the opening of this phase, then where do you stand?Soneji wrote:To get a rise out of me? At this moment the issue for me is that I've basically slotted Sloonei as a Don for most of this game based off of Ika's saying that an arrest failed on him. Him saying that he thinks there is a 3/10 chance that Epi is a Don threw me through a loop, as I'd think if he was Don he'd put it as a 1/10, unless he doubts TH being a Don.

There's no reason that wouldn't have also impacted his lurky early game. Bull.
For someone who comes from a site with unlimited multi-quote and lynches not being in polls, it does take some getting used to. The players here are heavily meta reliant, metas that I have no knowledge of because I haven't played here much. Matt in the Spirited Away game was doing fake BTSC posts in the game thread and flipped town. There is a cultural difference and it takes time to get used to players after having been in only one place for three years."I'm used to the site format and style now."
This website is extremely easy to grasp, and nothing in his posts implies a struggle with player style. Bull.
Kill him.

Re: [DAY 11] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
Why does this board have a limit on how many quotes you can have?
chaindeath, Nerolunar, Soneji, and Turnip Head.[/quote]
Yeah you screwed up. Oops!
You're only trying to appeal to S~V~S at this point. You don't believe TH is bad. You're obvious and you hate it.[/quote]
No, I don't believe Turnip Head is bad. I don't believe S~V~S is either (in fact, I think I have her role pegged).[/quote]
Hes very wishy-washy on who the cop team is without offering much explanation on why his views keep changing.
I didn't say that. What cop team is there if you, Eloh, and Dom are all town?[/quote]Epignosis wrote:
