Apparently he started playing in NF, OJ and Syndicate at the same time.

I first met him when a guy named Crugyr started inviting people to play my game and I was full in sign ups, so I basically redirected them all to TS. So nova joined it here. But he already came from somewhere else.

I'm not sure if this is something that can really be solved by policy. My gripe was more with culture than policy, tbh. A lot of the time I just want to make a vote earlier then forget about the game, but people will often think that is "scummy" or "inactive". I wish we treated a 24 hour game as that: a 24 hour game. Not real time. Which means you can play at any moment of those 24 hours, depending on when you are available. If you want real time, play a burglary.

Sometimes I wonder if unchangeable votes weren't a good thing.

I'm talking about all those games I wanna host but I might get a job this month.

If that happens I have no idea how I'll host anything, with both work and uni.

I like being able to make a game where the good and evil roles are super obvious and being able to make it work by banning claiming.

But I also like challenging myself to come up with ways to allow it. Like in Hogwarts.

Generally a game should be designed so that revealing your role doesn't usually save you. And investigations are limited so town can't win with just them. Case in point: this game.

If you can't guarantee that, just ban claiming and call it a day.

Also NFers are lazy as hell and will abuse loopholes even when that is not strategically smart.

Favorites is extremely hard to balance though. And it's a homage to role madness so that's usually not the priority.

But yeah I feel you.

The way I see a game may or may not allow role claiming.

The next two games I'm gonna host (both of which should be soon) will not allow it. Maybe sign up to them if you can.

But if a game does allow it, then there is nothing wrong with people doing it. It's part of the game.

I don't mean to bash you, btw. When I came into this site in 2015, all games banned role claiming. Things have changed so it's normal if you found them strange. And I don't think things necessarily have to change all the way, that's why I still make games that ban claiming now and then. Just letting you know that what some things that used to be socially unacceptable are now acceptable.

And claiming doesn't necessarily make a game less fun. If the game is well designed, it can add a whole new dimension to it (though if its badly designed it can break it).

Like, my whole argument with juliets was because I thought you would have been more obvious if you actually caught a baddie.

And if you catch two baddies, the game might as well be over. Go ahead and win it.

Now I know why I was lynched, that shit would not have flown with me at all. LC was clearly town. And I didn't even read endgame, I saw the poll and knew immediately dunya was bad because civ dunya would never have voted for LC in that situation.

I think it's possible speed and/or luna just made a silly mistake.

I've mislynched people before for not behaving on ways I'd expect to be logical. Such as not revealing cop results and stuff.

Like, although I did say it to juliets in that argument before, not everybody plays how we would expect all the time.

Luna from where I am I have no way of telling if you are just picking one of the options at random or if you are sure of it.

I can only try to infer.

I don't think Eloh has enough experience with games where info dumping is allowed to know that when a cop outs a mafioso it's GG. She hasn't played that many recent games and it's a fiarly new tng in this site.

It is possible that she saw the situation and thought she could reverse it, rather than just bus her teammate which is what a more meta-savvy mafioso would do.

If a cop gets what may be the entirety of the scum team, they shoudn't stay silent. Ever. They have the entire result of the game in their hands. They just need to dump it and it's GG.

your posts were saying "if speed is lying..." so i got confused. if speed is mafia, and luna is town, why would he have to set anything up himself? people were already scum reading her. he put himself in the middle and for no reason except to look bad when she flips town.

If Speed and Jay are both mafia this is a stupid plan. No reason to put both their names on the line.

If just speed is mafia this is just opportunism. He saw Luna cursed and tried to get her lynched.

If just Jay is mafia then I guess he couldn't have seen this coming, just got lucky.

If neither is mafia and Luna is bad we are golden and Jay's action is just a mild invonvenience.

If all three are civs and it was just a misunderstanding from Luna then we are on the path to defeat and mafia is laughing at us in BTSC.

Saying she is 80% sure of someone IS Mata being assertive. She is not a particularly assertive player.
