Vague shit.Dr. White wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:44 pm I however found JJJ "strong town reading" Colonial interesting, since it was solely on the grounds of him listing his own reads. I don't agree with your interpretation. Thread of the dialogue:TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 11:36 pmCBob on Colin:colonialbob wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:33 pmBecause he still has ~24 hours to talk about why he asked his question and what he felt like he learned. He doesn't want to do so before everybody has responded because that skews what responses he gets.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:27 pmI straight up don't understand this question any time anybody's asked it. Because the things you do in the day phase affect how the mafia perceives you and if you get nightkilled on day 1, you don't live to day 2, and you can't contribute useful information/win the game? Is there a difference in fundamental game mechanics between this site and everywhere else in the universe Mafia is played that I'm not getting?colonialbob wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:22 pm @ColinIsCool the only thing I don't get is why you brought the nightkill into it when we were barely halfway into the day phase?
Obviously ridiculous example: "please everybody name your favorite animal"
*answers by some but not all*
"Hey Epi why did you ask this?"
"Well see anybody who mentions a predator is scientifically proven to be mafia"
*remaining players all name fuzzy herbivores*
Did those last players respond honestly or because they knew what he waa looking for?
Both of the CBob posts here are kind of outrageous. The first one comes out of nowhere and is not as far as I can tell directly related to anything in the thread. It rehashes an old argument from hours ago that got some swing the first time.
Where Colin's response is directly an answer to the question posed by CBob, CBob's counter response is not about that response at all. It goes back to the "Colin not answering Epi" thing, another argument already dissected in thread.
CBob switches off his vote half an hour later.
~ colonialbob asks Colin why he was concerned about night kill dynamics re: Epi in the middle of the day phase.
~ Colin responds with incredulity and discusses the longer-term potential of day phase chatter to motivate night phase decisions of the mafia team.
~ colonialbob retorts that Epi still had half the day phase in front of him to do his thing with his exercise, relating to the core question about why Colin didn't Epi that time before raising his gripe about night kills. colonialbob draws an analogy to describe why Epi might not want to reveal his hand.
What's the problem in this thread?

Of the posts you've cited, Epignosis, the one I find most compelling is the first:

She's a suspect by pure meta. Her first game ever on the site was the fast-paced Mortal Kombat, and she hit the ground running. She wasn't afraid of the new environment and involved herself frequently in dialogues all over the thread. This time, even when acknowledging that her time is more restricted by wi-fi issues I believe she mentioned somewhere, her appearances in the thread have been considerably less inspired (hi Quin). She doesn't look comfortable.

I don't see a good reason to tie sprityo's talk about the danger of his receiving votes with the Five Finger General Ring slot. Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
Some of this is going to be a rehash.
Spoiler: show
I think people ignored the problems with this post because I chose to highlight it with the "interestings" found in it for meme value. Let's try instead focusing on the quality of the content.
Green: he implied that Mac's provisions of intuited reads don't even qualify as a contribution. That's bullshit. He can question their sincerity, but to say they are nothing is a ridiculous smear. It also came on the heels of colonialbob's anti-Mac stance, so there's room for opportunism.
Red: Dr. White observes my town read on colonialbob and then proceeds to make vague assertions about how interesting it is. I don't know what this actually means. This became a problem later.
Cyan: This just looks fake to me. He was really put off by a vote which may have been, by his own admission, a pressure vote. Meh.
Yellow: Neither of these comments amounts to anything.
Spoiler: show
He bit hard on that "interesting" bait with this response. He implies here that he was reading me as a mafioso (but again doesn't actually say it), and that "pegging me right" incited my linguistic poke. He didn't peg me as anything. He called me interesting. He said vague things. Refer again to the red-colored content in the prior post.
Spoiler: show
Dr. White clarified his vagueness here. It was difficult for me to get this clarification out of him. It covers the full gamut of "JJJ and colonialbob being interesting" and amounts to general suspicion. I complained about the lack of clarity and as such our argument exploded:
"That is clear and utter bullshit JJJ and you know it -- This is where Dr. White starts insisting that his initial meaning should have been obvious, and that my failure to acknowledge that is suspicious. This again refers to the red-colored statement in the first post I've provided here. That shit is not obvious in any universe, and that he so forcibly pushed that crap on me looks like Caught for the Wrong Reasons. He hates being suspected for the reason I provided and pushed back hard, but in doing so only managed to spew a bunch of nonsense. I hate it. It got worse.
He continued to double-down on the notion that what he said had an obvious meaning -- No. Absolutely not. I don't think he could have responded much worse to my accusations.
A number of people encountered two people screaming at each other, rolled their eyes, assumed civ-civ, and ignored it. It wasn't until more recently that I was able to get people to look more closely to get my points across.
The separate notion of his handling of the draft specifically pertaining to Marmot and Iron_Dwarf doesn't mean a whole lot to me, because that's highly speculative and mechanistic. I don't think that can be reliably utilized. Maybe you'll disagree. I think he looks bad anyway.

Overall day 1 he notably pressured RDW, Colin, and Quin in this way, but RDW was saying crazy things and deserved it. Colin and Quin both were pushed as feasible Day 1 lynches but Cbob ended up on Rabbit even though his arguments against the two carried on and almost led to lynch.
Colin Quinn is an unfunny relic of Saturday Night Live.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
I'm irked that Dr. White addressed the point I care the least about (Marmot/Dwarf and DraftGate) and bailed. Let's kill him. I'll start.

I'd like to hear more about these reads at least briefly. I screwed up the code when I snipped, so the shades of colors might be different.gwilikers6 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 4:05 pm Dr. White

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
I have very little read on Kites. Let's take a look.
Kites stood for Kenway in the dialogue about the latter's assumption that drafting would occur during the drafting process. The assumption about the draft means little to me, because the mafia team literally might not have realized that until they were informed of their selections. The clear, positive stance taken on Kenway is more important though and is noted.
I'm not sure what importance gender has if anything. The question isn't likely to produce much of interest.
The comment about Wilgy is an observation but not a read. I like reads more. I'll also note that the purported randomly selected teammates for the Don Kites are given specific examples. Those two are more random than others?
He cast doubt on Dwarf for being quiet. I think the point is as fair as any other "lurker guy is scummy" point. It's an easy to make or to fake.
I kind of love this. While a newcomer like Kites may not entirely realize that poking Epignosis is a dangerous game for a bad guy, by this point I do think some of the Epi character had shown itself in the thread. The exercise definitely had, and Kites was clearly not afraid of that shit. He went after it. I don't agree with his argument, but I don't care. When I consider the player and the delivery, it looks good to me.
What made you feel that you were playing so poorly to this point, Kites?
This is another instance of argument I don't agree with, but a conveyance of the argument that I like. Unles there's a mafia teammate among the two Kites named, there's no great motive for him to stand in the defense of players who have done nothing. When you start tacking on "unless", you've inherently reduced the probability of the outcome in question.
It's also nice that despite his reservations about Epi's exercise, Kites was willing to credit it when it was turned into a product. He acknowledged it, stated his perspective relative to the conclusions Epi drew, and didn't rail against it unreasonably.
He isn't afraid to go against the grain with his rainbow list, at least with some players (Epignosis and colonialbob stand out on the bottom end. Dr. White stands out on the top. Tell me about that read please, Kites, before my twitching eyeball twitches itself out of its socket.

Conclusion
I think Kites looks pretty good. It isn't immediately apparent without doing this ISO work, because his posts tend to be concise. He isn't blending though. I'd give him a sweet lime green skittle.
Spoiler: show
