[mention]NewTraditionalist[/mention] made a meaningful impact on this game -- he was first in the late game to move against nutella when the other civilians were handing her all sorts of credit. That was the initial moment when MP began to shift on that nutella read. It was a big moment and NT triggered it.

Re: The Search for Quin [END]
I think there was some visible growth in MP's civilian game here, particularly toward the end. He's always effortful, and he's always engaged. He has made good reads before too.
What I saw here that I haven't seen as much of in the past is assertiveness. When he made reads, he made fucking reads. I was thrilled to see the late-game PoE wherein he limited his suspects to Dom and nutella -- not because he had the right answer, but because he was eliminating low posters from the suspect pool with confidence. That's how you have to be. There's always a chance of being wrong, but that doesn't mean anything. Civilians cannot worry about that if they want to win games.

Re: The Search for Quin [END]
I think the execution of the bussing was fine -- in most games I'd expect it to work better. The problem was the timing. I probably wasn't ever necessary in the first place to engage in such deliberate distancing. Especially with the civilians' strongest power role eliminated from the start, the game could then become a speed-burn for the mafia if they worked instead to keep each other alive even at their collective risk.
It's all speculative though. The civilians earned it by making what I thought was a difficult decision to lynch sanmateo late on Day 2, and everything else rolled into place from there. If they hadn't done that when they did that, we're still playing right now.

"So what was the point of the whole 'Quin Search' mechanic?"
For the vast majority of this game, there was no point. Y'all lynched the theme itself on Day 1.
Two of the three power roles (Long Con and sanmateo) were tied to the search mechanic. They were both gone by the end of Day 2. So it was really just for fun. I think I made my hints too easy though, because y'all were either on the correct answer or tied for it in every night but one.

Re: The Search for Quin [Day 5]
Day 5 ends.
The team roamed the beachfront area of Sydney, hopelessly trying to pinpoint him in the dense motion of humanity. There were fucking tourists everywhere. They all seemed to have their own selfie sticks, just being chipper without a care in the world -- like the most indecent bastard in Australia isn't hanging out somewhere among them. The ignorance was sickening. They focused their search at Bondi Beach, one of the biggest tourist hubs in all of Australia.

They were beginning to lose hope that they could ever find this guy, but they had forgotten one thing -- his hair. It was blindingly red, glowing like a beacon from the sky. There he was, that absolute cad, out in the open living it up with cute ladies under each arm, kicking a beach ball around on the sand. The audacity! Did he even care that he was about to be taken down by the most dedicated team of hunters in modern Australian history? Did he even care about the lives he'd damaged with his unspeakable indecency? Does anyone actually know what he even did wrong?

Quin Search
The team was a bit at a loss. How the hell can one person be found in this sprawling metropolis? There are millions of people here, and he could be hiding in any area. They worked to narrow their search nonetheless, and at least agreed that it was likely Quin would want to avoid today's huge charity marathon. There's no way he could hide effectively in that setting.

Quin Search
The team was on fire. They were beginning to wonder if Quin would even make it through the night without being apprehended. How could they fail at such a pace? They'd narrowed their search to the massive city of Sydney, meaning there was still much work to be done. Finding a single person in this place is worse than a needle in a haystack. After ensuring the local media was giving due attention to the hunt, they began taking calls from all over the city. Sorting through them all was nigh impossible, so they had to attempt to focus them by where they were densest -- and it seemed that high-traffic tourist zones were the worst of it.

Day 3 ends.
After the great success of the prior phase of the investigation, the team felt they'd earned a breather. They took it easy for a while and just enjoyed the lovely trivialities of life -- all the while Quin's terrible indecency could continue unchecked. Still, they did manage to collapse upon one consensus suspect, and the interrogation was notably brief. She was resigned to the reality around her and just wanted the entire ordeal to be over with.

Re: The Search for Quin [Night 2]
Night 2 ends.
It had been a very productive day in the search for Quin, and spirits were as high as they'd been throughout the ordeal. The team deliberated over their next move, and they decided the population center of Sydney would be the best place for Quin to be hiding. He could hide in the boondocks, but he'd get bored. Quin, so absolutely indecent as he is known to be, needs more action than that. It felt like the right move. Unfortunately not everyone was able to make it. It was discovered that one member of the team wasn't qualified to take part in detective work... he was just some bloke on the road. He went home.

Re: The Search for Quin [Night 1]
Night 1 Ends
The hunt for Quin continued, at least as well as could be expected with Australia's top detective no longer on the case. Following the lead at Dubbo, the team focused their search in the central region of New South Wales. They knew they were getting closer, but the bastard Quin was still at large. One of them, however, was unconvinced by the entire strategy and decided instead to move north into Queensland, toward a Chinese restaurant Quin was known to appreciate. Before he could finish the trip though, he discovered that he is actually a cow and so he stopped playing Mafia.

Day 2 begins and will last 48 hours. If there's any need to adjust the deadline, I'll PM everyone next time. I will not hesitate to shorten the phase though if that is what I deem to be the best option considering whatever time constraints I encounter.

Night 1
Quin Search: where in New South Wales is Quin? Leads are murkier than ever now with the top detective lost, but there has been word that Quin was in Dubbo and possibly headed south.

Re: The Search for Quin [Day 1]
The investigation team made way for New South Wales, and anxiety was running high. Every person they passed raised their suspicions. Quin could be waiting around any corner, under any tree, perhaps even in the trunk of their cars! They acted quickly against their first suspect.

Re: The Search for Quin [Day 1]
Attention:
Due to unforeseen (but unsurprising these days) time constraints, I am going to have to end Day 1 15 minutes early. The only alternative is to wait hours and hours after the deadline, and that'll throw everything off. The new deadline is now 8:45pm EST, 15 minutes prior to the deadline stated in the poll. That is in just over 45 minutes. I will screenshot the poll at 8:45, all votes occurring after that moment will be void.
