My suspicion of LinearPoint is based on one small episode in this thread. It's the only interaction I've had with them, and admittedly I have very little sense of what else they have done in this game, so all of this should be taken with a couple grains of salt. You could also call this an OMGUS if you wanted to.

And that's basically the end of it. These posts exist, but they do not mean anything to me.

My problem with this is that LinearPoint introduced a potential suspicion of me based on a perception that does not seem to be entirely accurate, and that I would fail to see as suspicious even if it were accurate. When questioned on it, the subject was promptly forgotten and ignored.
The timing of this exchange is also a factor for me. This happened about an hour after Dyslexicon was shot and flipped mafia. I would think that, at that time, Dizzy's teammates would be prowling for other suspects to latch onto, as several players were being cleared as a result of the flip. Up until this moment, I was a very viable "low hanging fruit" option in the game. I would consider myself to have been vulnerable to false suspicion from Dyslexicon's teammates at exactly the moment LinearPoint began to pursue a bogus suspicion against me.

Not doing anything with these numbers at the moment, but I just want to note that the best possible ratio at the moment is 15 town to 5 mafia to 1 independent. That situation is not as grim as we may be feeling right now, though it's also possible there are more third party roles active than the projection shows there. Today's megaball results will do a lot to determine the numbers moving forward. I have faith that we will not go 0 for 4 today, at the very least.

It is difficult-to-impossible to set an exact POE target number in a game where players are dropping like flies as they have been here. I'm not feeling very mathematically inclined at the moment anyway.

This post serves no purpose other than to help me calibrate my mindset.

Bit worried so far it feels like town has been given plenty of chances to kill wolf (and blew most of them).

Town's chances of success are lower early in a game when we are collectively less informed.

I've only played one game with Guillo, he was scum, and what you bring up feels entirely NAI for him.

That said, if I had to compare one game of scum meta to this game so far, I'd lean him being Town too. He was a bit...more shouty/aggro in his exaggerations in the scum game (Spiderverse I think), whereas here he is just sorta firmly stating his takes.
Maybe. But of the few posts I looked at that is the one I remember as hitting as genuine rather than fake. I could be wrong, but I’m also often not wrong in early impressions. I just talk myself out if them later and crumble.

This post also gives off a bit of nervous energy. Like Dizzy initiated a point about Guillo and wasn't really prepared to respond the specific point that Maestro Radish brings up. It is a good look for the Radish.

Well, I did use to work as a comedian. Which I don't recommend to anyone.

I haven't seen them be topics much, and I haven't seen them be towny, so there would be a good chance there's scum there.
As for more "interesting flips" I'd say Marmot/Ender.
Also, the question is kind of meh in the first place. It's not even half way into D1 and a lot might change still.

In any case, I feel the game is in a pretty ok spot consensus-wise.

I have some concerns about Mac. Feels like he's not really landing any of his thoughts, and they seem to be a bit all over the place, which I find scummy for him.

I think these are the things I've been thinking about the most.

The Mac suspicion is new here. It feels oddly placed if they are teammates, unless they had cooked up a plan to distance from one another and then Dizzy suddenly realized he'd forgotten about it.

I'm tempted to throw a townie point at Phil & Gloria here because Dizzy specifically names Mac as a suspect. I feel like if this is distancing, Dizzy would have naturally referred to the hydra account as a hydra, rather than singling out one of its two heads.

I cracked open some games in the last year I've played with him to double check my feelings (Witcher, Spiderverse, GoC). Mac is known for being abrasive, in yo face, etc as both alignments (where others poke he punches), but I've found there's a slightly different taste to it depending on his alignment. As town he will do his little shtick of quoting a post and being like 'this smells like poop' and then call them scum 20 times for the rest of the round. But he also evolves his reads. Like he gets a light ping by someone, and starts bopping their noses, but then if they get townier he stops and something else pings him and he finds a new punching bag. Along the way he still backreads and analyses and builds cases to confirm or challenge his own reads.

Conversely, scum!Mac mimics that. He remembers to be abrasive and punchy, but he gets caught in a fake worldview for longer and finds it harder to evolve his reads convincingly. He'll take a post that fake-pings him and stick to that read for a long time. He also often forgets to do any actual work to back up his takes. His posts tend to be much shorter and more to the point. If his thread position is secure as the game goes on this can change, and he can start manipulating events to his will, but early on and if people aren't convinced of him he just tries to double down and become more of a bulldozer. (This is exactly what he's doing to me now that I've sussed him.) (FYI he's also not adverse to throwing shade at a partner and even pushing others to vote them, so a one-off suss of Marmot earlier is not clearing in the slightest.)

I am in no way 100% convinced he's scum here (I never am with Mac) but his game so far fits my view of his scum game far more than his town game.
I agree with this account. There's no backbone to Mac's worldview when he's scum. He also never really lands anything. I'm going to reread Mac to see how I feel and also how he treated Marmot. I think his vote was on Marmot when he got shot, but don't remember how he got there.

This is mafia piggybacking on town to bury other town.

This is the alleged slip that Urist pointed out, the accusation being that LP feigned ignorance about the soup kill. I don't really think going off of slips like this yields the best results, cause I've seen a lot of town miss stuff or assume stuff and it being seen as a slip. I think actual slips are very rare. However, LP is later claiming that they did read the OP, but that Nanook must have edited it. I don't know if this happened, but it seems a bit unlikely? Why not just say that you missed the part about the soup kill instead of "No, it changed"? Maybe this has more to do with LP's personality than anything. I could see LP trying to feign ignorance here, but I don't think that is a slam dunk thing at all.

But reading through LP's iso, I just end up with very mixed feelings. I've only played one game day with them before, but they were obvious town to me in that game. This game, I don't get the same feeling. At the same time, there's actually a lot of content and analysis to read. A lot of the analysis doesn't really make sense to me, but that was the same as last game. What I think may be different is that last game they eventually became very town leader-y and sorted people pretty aggressively and had much more impact overall. I wish I had a more firm take here, but I don't. If others have more experience with LP, please share.

Neeko thought that's what Marmot did and that seems to be the pattern in Marmot iso.
Pretty much identical so far to Team Fortress Mafia where Marmot was Town.
There's also this, which is the only thing LP has posted about Marmot. This being the only thing in their iso when there's a lot of content isn't great in itself.

And ther's been a lot of discussion around LP, and if they're mafia there might be a lot of anti-alignments to draw from it. I could see them being mafia here, so I'm not opposed to chopping them.

Would also like to know where LP is at with reads/sorting right now.

If Porscha is indeed town, you might even be right. Don't think that will happen now though, and it's not a vote I'd feel confident in.

Belzy is definitely town. Porscha is probably town. I am inclined to say this is not a good look for c4.

Think Sabie comes out of Dizzy's ISO looking quite bad. She is named as a suspect from beginning to end, but he never once gives any substantive thought to anything she's done in this game. High distancing compatibility.

While a rule of 4 shouldn't be adhered to, I think it's wise to ask if you are voting just to vote? If the PoE is too big and tight it enables wolf play.

We are going to have 8 people on the final poll no matter what we do. I’d like it to be the 8 people I think are most likely to flip mafia. That may or may not require me to use all 8 of my votes.

I have been one of the highest volume players in this community in the past. But I have been in semi-retirement for the last year or so.

Anyway I just took a quick look at LinearPoint's interactions with Dizzy and they were uninspiring. I can see a somewhat awkward teammate pairing between those two.

1 to 2 Mafia in this list based on other analysis.

Neeko thinks we should focus on 2 of these groups of people for the vote of 8 OR choose a handful of suspicious from each.
Neekos proposal based on this would be: Paopan, Belzy, TonyStarkPrime, nutella/Wiggly, Guillotine, alexa, Phil and Gloria, ilario as the logical solving mechanically.
One can argue instead of "Guillotine, alexa, Phil and Gloria, ilario" putting 'sabie, dyachei, radishes, c4" also is logical to solve mechanically.

IF neeko were to suggest scummiest of all groups the list would look closer to this:
Belzy, TonyStarkPrime, Guillotine, Phil and Gloria, Sabie, radishes, jpic, falcon with possibly substituting one for c4 or Dizzy.

This post sticks out in particular. Dizzy (along with C4) gets tacked onto the end as a salad appendage after Linear has spent a lot of words talking about why a bunch of people not named Dyslexicon deserve to be suspected.
