Alright I think we should all be able to view the main thread now. I'll lock this one per the host's suggestion. I guess PM me and the hosts if you're still unable to see the main thread.

If you’re okay with it, I can tinker around in a bit. JaggedJimmyJay handled all the thread-viewing permissions when we hosted, so he’d be more familiar with the process.
Also are we supposed to maintain access to this thread, or do you want us to just be able to see the main thread?

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 4]
responding to michelle's big post because i'm on my laptop now
When I say "tinfoil" I just mean it's a suspicion that relies on a lot of unknown things to be true. Like, I do not know that sig is responsible for this phase happening, so I do not know that his teammate would be aware that the threads were going to split up. I also don't know how you've interacted with sig, and the theory I was suggesting was pretty specific, and it wasn't something that I'd consider a lock. But it was a possibility that I saw, so I shared it.Michelle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 5:32 amWasn't the tinfoil a speculation over a town read who can turn bad if certain ideas you have may be true?Sloonei wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 2:32 pm I have a very specific tinfoil about Michelle. It relies on more If's than I'd like, and her recent vote change to juliets may point in another direction, but it's on my mind and I want to get it out there.
Part of the premise of this theory is that sig triggered the "inception" phase that we are currently in (his role, The Architect, is a character from Inception/Inception Mafia and he was likely to be lynched today, so it would have been his last chance to trigger this mechanic which could theoretically be hidden in the role's *secrets*), so if you don't care about that theory then feel free to skip the rest of this post. I am not convinced that it's the case, but it's a possibility that I recognize.
We're a small group of 6. None of us, as far as I'm aware, could have anticipated that the threads were going to be split up today, let alone which group we'd placed in or who we'd be placed in a group with... unless we are responsible for triggering the mechanic. If this was sig's doing, his partner (the anti-monitor) would be in on it as well. In Inception Mafia, the roster was split up mostly at random each time a new thread was created, but the mafia team had slight control over which players submerged onto each level.
Michelle entered today having already compiled a big clump of posts from speedchuck in the original thread before the split happened. Speedchuck also happens to be one of the 5 players she shares this thread with. It looks extremely convenient that, in such a small and presumably random group of players, Michelle was prepared to attack one of us before the day began. Of course, it's not impossible that this is all pure coincidence, that she had singled out speedchuck as a Player To Read during the night, and then she happened to get put into a new thread with him by sheer luck during the day. speedchuck is a viable candidate to be lynched, and if the mafia team does have some control over where players are going, he wouldn't be the worst option for a player who wants to have a scapegoat in their group. Of course, Michelle is currently voting for Juliets, which complicates things somewhat but doesn't entirely erase my initial concern. I've also had no reason to associate Michelle with any of the anti-monitor members prior to now. She voted for Radishes on an abbreviated Day 1, then Turnip Head on Day 2 when Radishes was lynched, and Mac on Day 3 when sig was the counterwagon.
None of this constitutes a read on speedchuck himself, as he could very well be a member of the other team. Without the other thread I have no direct evidence to link him there, obviously.
You didn't read me town from the get go, so how come you have a tinfoil?
The cyan is the entire accusation. And also I'm not sure what you mean when you say it "fits conveniently with Jay's theory". The theory about sig triggering the inception phase was my theory. I was following up on my own theory, not piggybacking on somebody else's. Here's where I first mentioned it.The cyan is a grave accusation and fits convenientely with JJJs theory, indirectly pocketing him. This is well written and I have no doubt that if Sloonei is mafia I can't fight with him because I just can't construct in english a proper defense.
This is all may be so. Like I said, my concern was that you came in prepared to target one of the 5 other people who were in this thread with you. I would not bank on this. If we were in a full thread, this alone would absolutely not be strong enough for me to vote for you. But in this thread environment, it was enough for me. Also, I asked you to explain why you had the speedchuck posts saved earlier in the day because I was concerned about this, for the record. The orange is a supposition and I already explained why I choose to Iso Speed and why I posted the quotes raw. No one took a stance then about the content, but Juliets asked me oppinion like she is curious about it. In fact she wanted a tool to backfire at me. I was conscient about this and I waited to see if she will be objective about me or not. She wasn't and when I saw her opportunism I voted her.
The idea of me preparing an attack on Speed knowing we will be separated in a dream and with whom is contradicted by the fact the quotes are not from the complete Iso, but from the first part and this is not enough to form a solid accusation because the later posts were more game related and full of content. I didn't have time to finish the Iso so I didn't know.

I did manage to take a screenshot of a post Michelle made, color-coding the first three lynches. I can try to recreate that here. That might help us.
The roles listed suggest SVS and nutella 2 were civ and sig bad, so I will start there.
That said, we could see what happens if we try to lynch G-man by a tally of 3-2.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 4]
Given that we appear to be the middle of three levels, and that the smallest group contains just three players and one confirmed scum, I am not feeling much urgency about this lynch.
If we’re following the same pattern as the original game, the 3-person limbo-lylo will resolve today and all the dream levels will collapse back into one. In that scenario our lynch doesn’t produce any tangible result. I don’t know what the purpose of our level is in that case, but my instinct is still to lynch the player I am most suspicious of just to be on the safe side. My tinfoil on Michelle is the most substantive negative read that I have right now. However, this theory hinges somewhat on her being the anti-monitor, who will have -2 votes applied to her. Maybe the best strategy to ensure we learn something today is to put Michelle one vote ahead of a second candidate.
But that’s just me pursuing my own pet suspicion that no one else seem on board with.

That’s certainly the strongest point against the theory we have in this thread. But it’s also important to remember that Day 1 ended earlier than scheduled. Some votes may not have been intended to be final.G-Man wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 8:25 pm Okay, why would Anti-Monitor Michelle vote for teammate Radish on Day 1 when she has no reason to? There was a perfectly good opportunity to vote for someone else. Unless she was going to change her vote but didn’t get the chance to when D1 ended early, I am skeptical of her being Anti-Monitor.

My concern is that Michelle was specifically targeting speedchuck, who is in this thread with her.G-Man wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 7:35 pm Okay, Sloonei, I see in one of your first posts a mention of a possible miscommunication between Mac and Michelle that made it difficult for you to see them as teammate-compatible.
Also, the face that you were mid-ISO of Mac when the Inceptioning happened, I think that lends credibility to the supposition that Michelle could have been mid-speedchuck ISO when it happened too.
Noting this now as I start my re-read. I want to keep this info in mind as I get to the compatibility theories late on here.

Well this is good. It might also lend credibility to the theory that sig triggered this. A 3-person thread would be a sort of Limbo, and keeping sig from winning there would be crucial if we're following a pattern similar to the original game.

I don’t think mac’s entire post history would fit in one post anyway.
Saito never said he can’t provide multiple posts of info. He also never really said that he can do anything like this at all. I have no idea. This was not a mechanic in the original game. If legit, this is an LC/BR original.

Outside of asking them to reproduce posts (and I don’t know how we’d go about doing that), we could ask mechanical questions: how many threads are there, how many people are in X thread or Y thread, who is where, does everyone have public voting, etc.

My problem is that I had no read on Michelle or Speed before we got Inceptioned. I can construct cases on all five of you based on the votes. I’m going to re-read this whole mini-thread before the deadline to see who’s got the worst combination of vote analysis tin foil and potential insincerity.
I’m not sure how much this lynch actually matters.
We also had private voting, and no deaths/kicks were revealed until after the night phase ended. That way the lynched player and the nightkilled player would go back up together with no indication which one was which. We did this to obscure the mafia team’s nightkill target, as revealing that info would have pseudo-confirmed that player as a civilian. We don’t have private voting here, so the mechanics are not identical. This could just be an indication that we’re only here for one phase.

I don’t share your level of concern about juliets here. Juliets and I have butted heads earlier in this game, for instance, and I don’t feel like she’s trying to appease me right now. If she has a town read on me, it has been earned. I can’t speak for jay or her read on him, but I don’t object to that either. Given the state of this thread right now, a POE of you and speedchuck is not unreasonable. What you read as “defensive” I read as “uncertain”. Neither of you have been prominent suspects in the main thread, so this whole day is kind of a shrug.Michelle wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 9:14 amIsn't convenient that you are oscilating between the only 2 who have votes until now? That leaves Michelle and speed who I did not have a strong read on and hadn't done their ISOs. I had vague feelings about them but that isn't helpful now. So I guess my decision will be between the two of them unless something happens to change my perspective today.

You are non committal and I expect you to be scum, I already noticed something is wrong about your votes, and now your behaviour is lacking town presence.
You are affraid to upset both JJJ amd Sloonei with suspicions, GMan is obviously contributing with useful things and you choose me saying you have "vague feelings" about me (it's me you're talking about, not a new unknown player) and Speed with whom I didn't finish the convo.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 4]
I have a very specific tinfoil about Michelle.

Yeah I'd be surprised if this is a long-term thing. And if we are indeed in three threads right now, it's tough to imagine things being stretched out more than two day phases at most.speedchuck wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 12:13 amI'm pretty sure we've just been split into threads for the day. Anything more than that would derail the game, giving undue weight to Inception over most themes.Sloonei wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 11:29 pmI'm not sure I understand the question. But in Inception, kicking people back to the top level exposed them to the chance of being kill off for real in the main thread, and prevented them from submerging into deeper dream levels. The mafia team wanted needed to submerge all the way to limbo and survive there to claim their reward, so a successful lynch by the civilians on the lower levels would lessen their chances of achieving that.G-Man wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 11:03 pm Oddball thought process time- if lynching someone kicks them up a level, should we really try to keep our baddie suspect trapped here in dream land? Maybe the Inception hosts can speak to that. The hamster in my brain is running wild about this structure right now.

Michelle were there other people you were ISOing during the night, or was speed your only target?

Could you elaborate on the highlighted bit?G-Man wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 10:59 pmOn Day 3, everyone piled on Mac right away. That led Mac to amplify his griping. He made a lot of hot noise (which, in retrospect, helped provide cover for his teammates) but then the sig thing dropped. I went with Dyslexicon’s from-the-grave case against sig because I had a sharp turnaround on Dys early Day 2.
In the end, I switched back to Mac to keep things spicy at EoD and because I really didn’t want to hear Mac rant against the world for another day.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 4]
I was ready to hammer away at G-man after his Day 2 vote, but that suspicion has been dissolving since then. I don’t have an explicit reason to remove him from the pool of suspects, but I also don’t really believe in that initial suspicion like I once did. I feel like the thing that I was suspicious of (refusal to vote in the same wagon as me) was just his mafia instincts kicking in. That would be a careless slip if he was bad and partnered with Radishes.

How did speedchuck look in relation to radishes/sabie/sig? My radishes research revealed absolutely nothing. I never looked at sabie.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 9:33 pmWhen I reviewed people's treatment of Mac in the original thread, I felt speedchuck was a decent teammate prospect. The primary driver of that interpretation was Day 3, which I have touched on a bit in this thread. speedchuck shuffled his vote between sig and Mac before ending the day on sig (I believe the order was Mac - sig - Mac - sig). Combining that motion with the bland mechanistic basis for chuck's explanations for his votes left a crummy product.
His answers to these points in this thread are leaving me feeling nothing.

I'd like to see Michelle respond to that. I'd also like it if she could tell us why she specifically had all those speedchuck posts saved and ready to go.

Why is michelle's read a bad faith argument? Gimme specifics.speedchuck wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 5:35 pmI fervently disagree. I had reasons for everyone I scumread there. The only one named who hasn't flipped yet is TH, who I still suspect. Call it piggy-backing on Dom if you will, but I'm on that. This not only does not fit the definition or template of player salad, it is accurate, provides reasons in previous posts, and caps it off by providing a direction I'm going in. Screw off with that.Sloonei wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 5:28 pmYes it is. How do you feel about each of us here? Anyway.
This thread... It's easier to POE. I don't suspect G-Man or Juliets whatsoever. Michelle I hadn't hardly noticed before today, and her reaction to my posts feels like a read in bad faith. Like she's trying to look for the bad in posts that are batting a 50/50. I don't pretend to be able to read you or JJJ when I've read about 3.5% of your posts, but I'd suspect you over Jay just because I trust nutella more than you.
The above isn't going to satisfy you, because most aren't 'original thoughts.' Too bad. I've had original thoughts, accurate ones, and Michelle just finished crapping on them.
