Do you think it is a fair criticism, though?JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 9:02 pmAs an example of my struggle: much of my methodology is driven by interaction/association. However, I can’t pinpoint any moment so far this game that has me feeling like you’re naturally coming to your conclusions with evidence- and actually, you tend to blame the lack of direction on lack of others posting. While that’s not an illegitimate reason, it’s also convenient.
Tony is right- thinking it is one thing, talking about it (which Tony started with) is a whole other thing. Performative.

But I am curious how you usually approach mafia- do you tend to follow people that have conviction of other people’s guilt, or make your own personal cases against people?

I’d even go so far as to town read him
I can understand in the most basic sense "these posts may appear bad, but they're actually not", but your wording is extreme in both directions. Are the other players that haven't put on a "trying hard" face also town reads? LoRab? Sophia Abigail? Princess Abigail? Half the roster? Why is Simon town?
I’m perhaps being selective as I’m looking at people as I look at them. Comparing Simon to Lorab is a bit different with content, as one as literally checked in, and one has had a full seemingly conversation. I just happen to find Simon’s 4 posts towny in his lack of effort.
Abbi is a weird case where I feel like my expectation is being sated.

I remember the days where I was hot grits, texting and mafiaing at red lights or in long, straight stretches of highway. I quit that a while ago.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 2:33 pmNo Mafia + Drive.
I didn't speak about their relationship. I did ask falcon to provide a read on Tony. That was mostly intended for resolving "this thread is dead, so ask someone a question, any question, get posts in here immediately". You may have interpreted subtext.
Now I started watching YouTube videos or trying to find the right podcasts when driving and I’ve had some close calls. One time I drifted too close to a guy on the Golden Gate Bridge, which- if you’ve ever driven it, you know those lanes are extremely narrow. Almost sideswiped him. Needless to say, I had to yell at myself to set some guidelines. I’ll never do it again.

Yes, and I would contend that in this state, we’re in a lose-lose scenario for ideal D1 candidates. Leaning more towards a low poster gaining info in this case.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 1:16 pm I am concerned that, in the present state of the game thread, the bar that the mafia must clear to seem like civilians is “have a pulse”. But a middle of the road contributor (this is distinctly different than a poster by count) would be ideal as we talk more

You have little means to actually tell if I was ever going to put out content without the pressure. I presume one could gauge how I responded to your pressure directly and the following work to see if it makes sense or not given the context, but there's so little of that at this point. Even more interesting is that commentary about this type of discussion is also mostly NAI as town can make the comments you made indicating concern as you put it, and wolves can voice it to leave an avenue open.
What fun
In the same vein, you can be a 1st year drop out instead of a doctor. I think this type of reasoning you’re putting forth- less of the zany, off the wall banter- at this point, regardless of me pressuring you, is a good look from my expectation of your town play
