Seriously, that was horrible not being able to talk. I think that might actually be the first time I've ever been silenced. Of course it would happen when I can barely talk in the other game I'm playing. :fist:

Gotta say, at first I was worried when Scotty died and I was silenced that we were being played and someone was either setting Cookie up or controlling her. Then she voted for me and posted what she posted. Then it was pretty obvious she was bad. For future reference, Cookie, what you did is what's called laying it on a little too thick. Good effort up to this last day though! Hope to see you in games more often.
I have a response for this, however, I don't think I can tell you while the game is still going so remind me to respond to this when the game ends!
Yes I do! I kind of gave up on the game at this point. I knew I had no chance of NOT being lynched and I wanted to stop having so much pressure. So I silenced you. After that, I posted that I was voting you and did so early in the day, before anyone could comment that you were probably silenced. I kinda set myself up to look bad.

I knew people would then find me more suspicious and lynch me. I wasn't sure if Moloch had died already but I didn't want to prolong the game due to my inevitable lynch. I can't talk myself out of being suspicious lol.
For the record, Cookie, I think you played a great game. It was hard to get other people to see you as bad without giving up too much info about my role, and I think that was a testament to your non-suspicious play style.

If you had given up at that point, was that before or after you killed me?
And if it was before you killed me, was killing me just a spite kill?

@Rico DAMN MAN. That's the type of thorough commitment you would see out of a Host, but a player? Hot damn. Throw me in a pot and call me Potatoes. You were very deliberate.

I knew you sounded much too civ to be on completely our side, but I didn't expect you to be Ozy. I also couldn't finger as bad either way. One hell of a game, and one hell of a commitment.

@MP: So you two never tracked Eloh? LOL
How would they track Elo and make a full wolf case on her afterwards?
Tracker uses his ability on Eloh.

Epi PMs him back and says "Eloh used an ability on X"

Night ends, X was killed.

Therefore, Eloh is the one who killed X, barring an incredible coincidence.
Exactly.

I figured Scotty was my partner for sure after I had no result N2 and then a result on N4. Then when he started defending me subtly after the N4 result, I knew 100% it was him.

It's possible he thought I had info on Elo that he didn't get to see (i.e., N3) and that's why he followed me.
Ding ding ding.

Being away for 2 days and coming back in was a blur. I honestly skimmed days 2 and 3, and found that MP seemed the most out of place. Of course he was my partner. If I had been alive for those 3 days I probably would have tracked him N2 and gotten confirmation earlier, and maybe this game would have ended differently..

So coming back for Day 4, and knowing MP didn't do anything on N4 after tracking him, I knew he had to be either the Comedian or my partner.

Night 4, Ozy sent me this brilliantly done audio message that was so hard to hear, and concurrently needed to be played backwards. I spent like 45 minutes trying to listen to that shit.

Fucking Ozy. Puzzles are my kryptonite.

But here's the funny thing:
The message sounded so much like mafia chit-chat talking about ika's blowing up and such. Then it said distinctly that "he made a read on me yesterday so I'm going to make him look bad," followed by "I voted for espers to get some cred."

So me, in my dimly lit, World War 2 backwoods bunker thought "oh yis" and went to town looking at who might be attempting to frame someone that day, and who voted for espers.

It was all legit hogwash. However. That piece directly led me to either Elo and Cookie. So while Rico had given me false information, it actually led me to a little more conviction for those 2. But MP had done a biopic on why Elo was bad that night after, and Elo was avidly defending herself- so much so that it made MP look bad- so I was like, "GOTCHA" and, assuming MP had some info from one of the nights I missed, voted with him. It just seemed to fit.

Big kudos for Rico. He played me well.

N5 MP tracked Cookie and saw she targeted 2 People: Rico and MM. And then I found out MM was silenced, so...there ya go. Obvious for me, but a lynch was led against MP for some reason.

If I hadn't been silenced Day 7, I would have built more of a case against Cookie and maybe we could have bought ourselves some time.

Derf silencing me and Comedian killing me...well...you guys chose poorly. But hey, hindsight is 20/20.

I really do appreciate DDL for bringing me back. That was incredibly helpful for the time I had to spend with my partner.

I tracked DDL Night 6 and it said he targeted Ninjablooper, which made me go all Scooby Doo. So I knew you were Manhattan. But there was little I could do that following night, when no one heeded my advice. Cookie was toast by that point, but then I knew I was as well. My last speculation was that Moloch "is someone who looks the most civ." Which was hardly DDL. I knew it was either Russ or Rico as Moloch. I actually thought it was Rico til the end. Russ was a complete mystery to me, and he played a brilliant game as well.

Thanks for blowing up my brain with this game, Epi. It felt really immersive and your technical expertise was sure fun to witness! Here's an obscure stout from Germany in your honor.

If I could go back and change one thing of my play, it would be not to piss off MM day 1 when he's a vigi ;)

Good game all!

Re: Watchmen [Day 7]

If it's the last thing I say, I want to acknowledge that I have done a 360 on Moloch. I've literally jumped around in a circle. I thought that it would be a brilliant move to be quiet and coast, but then I would envision that for Big Figure instead. Having 2 mafia teammates dead would either cause the fight or flight mechanism for BF, and I haven't seen a big change of gameplay from the remaining members. Cookie has picked it up after night 6, and has made a small effort to come into the light, but not to the extent of the others (except Made, who is at least catching up). She is the coaster, with this one dude up in her bizness like a Jack Russell fucking terrier. Sorry bout that, but I've got to imagine it's either you or MM for final baddie.

For moloch though (getting back to the 360 now) I thought, what better way to get to the end but look MOST civ, for everyone to have your back? I'd look at the most civ sounding next. Which may or may not even be here. I mean honestly it could be a moot point if moloch is already dead, so I guess we'll see.

But I'm getting this in just case I am dead in an hour.

No.

I'm not Moloch either.

I was expecting more creative questions tbh.
What is your favorite color?

I've been mulling on the can for a few minutes now and just got thinking: I'm weakest when I can't account for hidden variables. I was pinged by Elo in part because of the hint I received from [???] someone, I don't know who, I assume it's Ozy. Let's say he wants us to hear certain things. But this wasn't just a message, but a puzzle. I love puzzles. And if I'm going to spend the effort of solving a puzzle, I would expect that it would be relevant and not just to throw me off. Maybe Ozy needed to fulfill a win condition and manipulate the information as a means to do so, but Im keeping in the back of my mind the premise that Ozy is a Watchman and must win with the civs, so even if he is spewing skewed info, I doubt it would be useless to the civ cause.

But then I don'tknow his win condition. I don't know the conditions or abilities of Moloch or Mr. Manhattan. And it's pissing me off. It's like trying to wear a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops to a 5-star restaurant. I feel entitled to do so, and I want to do so, but I cannot! it doesn't make sense, it's socially unacceptable, and I look like Jimmy Buffet.

I do the best informed decisions I can based on the information available. But I'm not perfect. ("You can say that again!" Shut up Dad) I'm operating under the assumption that I do have the info necessary to make informed choices, but there is room for error.

What happened night 5 and night 6? I refuse to accept they missed the vote. That's blind chance and I want to use reasoning behind decisions.
Reasoning #1: LoRab used her protect function. This is HIGHLY specialized if LoRab waited to use her one power, out of all the powers, to protect someone. She definitely didn't do it twice, so what about the other night with no kill?
#2 BF biding his/her time. He/she knew there was heat that day, so they backed off to give air to the game. This seems definitely likely at least one of those days.
#3 That BF indeed can only kill on his inherited even
Nights. Which would make #1 and #2 more remarkable.
#4 them secret roles gots all kinds of secrets that I can't account for.

I mentioned before about Moloch's weapon in the spoiler tab. No one really knew what it did, nor do I, but the name alone makes me feel like Moloch might have a copying ability, where he has a random power in intervals, and could have received role blocking. This would explain the night 2 people were silenced, if derf is in fact dead. Could have been Moloch blocking in stead of LoRab, and I'm betting 100 to 1 that LoRab protected one night, and Moloch protected the other.

Am I just spewing my lunch food or what?

Although I'm not 100% certain of this logic, civ silencers usually aim to silence/incapacitate players they suspect as being bad. Derf silencing you would make no sense, except if he actually suspects you (but who does here, really?) or if, well, he's not very inspired with his moves.

I would conjecture that he can hear chat from behind closed doors and relays that info in secret ways and in the Day/night posts... But I bet his win condition has something to do with the other Watchmen dying in his wake, especially Mr. Manhattan. I think it was Russ that received a secret PM yesterday, which I also believe to be Ozy.

A civilian could be recruited or switch to the bad side, but that would inconsistent with who manipulates whom in the story. It would mean Moloch or the Inmates recruit Ozy, which, canon-wise, would be quite silly.
Metalmarsh89 wrote:

Considering that Ozy is a Watchman, a player who must win alongside the civilians, I can't imagine his win condition would be detrimental to the civilians.

I know Rorschach's is a little bit, but if the civilians played a good game, they should have nothing to worry about.
I think it's definitely more of a mixed bag. Rorschach's win con right now is very detrimental to the civs, because he needs a lot of remaining players to be dead by endgame, whilst the civs themselves require only two more baddies to die. DH officially needs Derf to be already dead or die, in addition to civs winning. Comedian was detrimental only insofar as potentially killing a civ (Scotty). Silk Spectre II is not detrimental to the civs in any way, she'd rather like more Watchmen to fall in order to have an easier task with the role calling. No idea about Manhattan (Win con: Presence. Ok. As in "not going away on Mars, tired of the human race?". As in "not killed or lynched"? As in "exposed [role flip] to everyone else via lynch or NK" (why do I still keep thinking of freakin' Shinigamis?). Ozymandias, canon wise, was downright heartless towards the human population in achieving his goals, so he might actually be detrimental to the civs, despite needing to achieve their win con.

Nothing about Cookie actually. I've just changed my mind about LoRab from before. I guess it looks like hindsight to some, but my early suspicion of her was gone.
That is quite the use of hindsight, indeed. For the second lynch in a row, in fact. After MP died, you said you read him as civ, yet in the game you barely ever addressed any read on him; almost like you would let things run their course. As for LoRab, last time you mentioned her, I think, you just said she slipped off the radar, not that you cleared her of suspicion.

In all seriousness though, where I live we get both the summer heat and the winter cold. I always laugh at the southern states who freak out over half an inch of snow and can't handle anything below 45 degrees.
I'm originally from the Atlanta and the uproar over an inch of snow is actually justified because the tire treads aren't meant for that climate. The Snowpacalypse of 2014, which had like a foot of snow, stranded motorists all over the city because their cars were essentially immobile. I heard of a schoolbus that was stranded on the highway with kids overnight.

Also, my dad lives in FL and he puts on a sweater when it gets below 55 degrees so I can confirm.

The Comedian is a huge asshole. It's hard to hate anyone in the story more than him, including Ozymandias. But he dies as soon as the comic starts, which fits his wincon in this game.
Yeah all these Watchmen seem like assholes in the stories. Self-serving, egotistical jabberwokkies.

But I like that the superheroes have depth. Makes for a juicier story I suppose.

I think I'll rent Watchmen tonight since I haven't seen it.

how Moloch spends the whole story being manipulated by Ozy. He's a retired supervillain at that point and doesn't actually do a thing.

What if Epi has lied to us and Ozymandias is the one we should be trying to lynch? While Moloch is just a decoy?
This would be trickery at its finest, and would also make sense, since Ozy is supposedly super smart.

Re: Watchmen [Day 6]

Here's an updated list of characters that may or may not be alive still:

Bernard: Some seem to think he is still alive due to the Night message from Dr. Manhattan. Some think Dr. Manhattan wrote it.
Derf: Who else would be a silencer of two people? Some think either MP or MM were faking their silent treatments, since only one person seemed silenced Day 4-5. I would add that perhaps both had silenced the same person both days, or they just forgot to send in a PM.
Dr. Long: Could be dead or alive. No idea.
Jenny Slater: Could be dead or alive. No idea.
Det. Bourquin: Could be dead or alive, though MP being his partner gave an indication that they apparently were not in sync. Could be dead, which would also explain MP's blatant tirade against Elo in Day 5.
Rorschach: Seemingly dead, or else he is playing his cards very close to his chest. Maybe Dr. Long removed just enough names from his list that Rorschach can just coast.
The Comedian: Could have been NK'd at this point. But could go either way. Used up their one shot on me Night 1. :disappoint:
Dr. Manhattan: Seems most likely to be alive, since he had a hand in the last night's message.
Spoilers from movie/comics:
Spoiler: show
The doctor gets torn apart in an experiment and is reborn. He then is able to view time in a non-linear way. Methinks Manhattan can revive someone, and can also view things that happen in the past, like people that have previously died.. (or future lol I don't know how that would work)
Ozymandias: I would say still alive, because: (Spoilers from movie/comics)
Spoiler: show
Ozy is super smart, and manipulates governments into thinking aliens blew up NYC, when he did it himself. Nice guy. He has a network of technologies and seems to have ears in all places.
BF: :suspish:
Moloch: So I just did a background check on this guy from a few sources. Spoilers from movie/comics:
Spoiler: show
Moloch interacts with the Comedian and Rorschach, and is killed by Ozymandias in the end for knowing too much. He carried a pistol, which some thought to mean he was a skilled marksmen, but who knows. He also had in his possession a Solar Mirror Weapon, which is a mystery in and of itself. The only reference I could find was when we see the Comedian raping Silk Spectre (wtf?) through the warped viewfinder of the SMW. I would conjecture that since Moloch has no super powers, he uses smokes and mirrors in some way with this weapon. Still working on what ability Epi could have made that into.

That was Day 6. Nothing really changed for me there. Into the night, when you guys were farting around with MP and LoRab, I didn't talk too much about BF and more about who Molock could be, since I had it in my head that, "Of course Cookie is mafia, let's move on to the next deduction."

My last post before getting silenced:

Shame, because I feel like we really could have eliminated that problem.
So who do you see me is being elimininaed from that problem?
That sentence doesn't make sense.
But I'm talking about cookie
Honestly if I was BF, MP would have died in the NK when he first insisted that I was mafia, I think it was D3 or D4 when he put a lot of heat on me.
Actually that's not the best strategy. Ricochet puts it nicely:
Ricochet wrote:If you ask me, MP was kept in the game due to the high potential of being lynched. That he himself started a huge case on a civ Eloh must have been even more of a delight for BF and Moloch.
Why not keep in MP, who's already garnered a lot of heat, and had been wrong on so many separate occasions? He could get lynched instead (the Elo vote was the deciding factor, methinks), and he did.

Guess who was the first to vote Cookie Day 4? Me. I thought that a mafia would be trying to float by, to blend in. Espers was lynched, he flipped bad, and ika even voted for you, so I took a step back- just a step- for how implausible it was for you to be Big Figure. Sweet, newbish, frustrated Cookie. Now knowing that MP backed me up on Day 4 is just dandy, and gives me even MORE conviction that you are bad. I mean, if you recall, MP stressed time and time again on Day 4 that espers was at the top of his read list, and in the end he voted for Cookie. Could it be...that both were bad and he was giving a hint? He wasn't right on the Elo vote, nor was I (going back to Day 1) but I would find it hard to believe MP would be wrong on all of his reads.

I have essentially not garnered heat like MP has, and I am going full fledge semi through the tunnel mode. If BF kills me tonight, look no further than Señorita Galleta tomorrow.

Good night friends, I'm off to work for the night.
She silenced me to pull her off the hook. The if/then statement does just apply to NKing me, and I didn't think I was too vague with my assumption for an entire day before. But maybe I was, and maybe I should have been more aggressive with my accusations.
I'd stake my reputation at this point that it's Cookie, but I don't really have a reputation here, and it didn't end well with MP. But I think the lens I'm looking at her is very narrow and matches very well with what I expect.
LoRab was my #3 choice, but she kept slipping today towards civ. GMan also fell down off my list. The next likely person on my list after Cookie is MM, but I also don't see him as mafia either.

Russ, she isn't a new player. She's new to the fast and tight playstyle we have here.
And if she were mafia she would have experience in her back pocket. It's called Sloonei. He's totally active in BoB, so if she has needed help or advisement, he's there to help her out with people or advice.

Why have there been no killings? Well, maybe it was to let us pick ourselves apart so she can coast.

Honestly we're going to lose if you keep up this mentality that she is a newb and couldn't pull it off.

Scotty- do you think you're likely to get killed tonight or lynched tomorrow? I personally see no reason for you to be lynched, so I'm assuming you think Big Figure will come after you.

What I find interesting is that you got on board with MP07's theories after you were rezzed even though he went after you Day 1 for what I though was a very unsound case. Not saying it's suspicious though. I'm just dying to know why you got on board with him after he tried to railroad you.
You see no reason? I do. I've been rezzed, and no one has really looked into my case. Except maybe Rico and a bit of Russ (who just says he patently disagrees with me). I was wondering why no one killing MP until you realized he was making bad reads all game.

There may be a chance I am wrong about my newest reads, but my reads become more poignant as the game goes on. More votes to look at, and like you, GMan, I enjoy logic puzzles. This game is like a logic puzzle mixed with hide and seek.

I've been operating under the assumption that I was going to be NK'd since I was rezzed, and now I'm just acting on spare time. All of this is a gift that I've even been here this long, so thank you powers that be.

As for "getting on board with MP's theories", didn't you see that I've been buddying up with him since Day 0? /s
He did get on me for a pretty weird reason at Day 0, and then I died. I wasn't really convinced he was civ until about Day 5. I didn't trust him a lick when he kept posting his rainbow reads, waiting to vote until the very end, and not voting for the lowest common denominator at the last second, which seemed fishy as tuna.
Tunneling on Ehlo seemed to me either a VERY civ move or a VERY sloppy mafia move, and I chose the former. Like come on, MP isn't new to mafia. His moves seems suspicious, but TOO suspicious. I'd be looking at someone trying to fit in, or at least not raising any red flags. Those are the dangerous ones.

I also had a read on Elo. I became convinced that one of the espers voters in Day 5 were bad. I limited it to Elo or LoRab for a time, and Elo's post at the end of the night before she was silenced was just icing on the cake for me. My gut read on MP at that point was warm-blooded civ and the thought of people accusing MP of being mafia was ludicrous.

I know now how Russ felt when we tunneled into Elo, whom he defended for whatever reason.

I looked up tracking and it does not learn the role of the target, but what they do. I was sorely confused on that point.
So I'm curious if and when MP tracked Ehlo that would give him info that led to her demise? Maybe she did something that night to the target that died? That would make sense, right? So maybe she sent back her info to Bernard and Bernard died that night? I don't remember seeing Bernard post recently, so that would make sense for MP to tunnel.
