Unsure when vote manipulation comes into this, am I being completely stupid?
It was seaside's role to see through vote manipulation once, he was town so no reason to make shit up, so must've been the reason he was harping on about the three of them.

But then if Drugs is the sole scum vote manipulator its not a direct link. Can't Drugs drug a guy and vote a different way the next lynch?

I'd definitely be down to try to pull votes onto motel room.
Why?
Mainly, he's throwing out totally unsupported opinions, every so often and saying we should believe them just because.

He was on Rico for days for being bad, and then suddenly N5 he thought Rico was good "despite really wanting you to be scum".

Since D3 he's been saying JJJ, espers, Diiny, and Zebra were bad, for no other reason than that they voted Rico on D3. (He later retracted his suspicion of Zebra upon learning Zebra was a dead civ when he posted this, and he's since back off of also-dead-civ espers.) This post in particular reeks:
seaside wrote:anyway, i reakon there is a strong chance one of those three are scum
i'm not saying those three are my most suspicious (or suspicious at all) but i think 1 of the 3 could be scum
He hasn't offered even a modicum of a case against any of them, but is trying like hell to get people to join him in a lynch just because. He even tried to use JJJ's move away from Mac yesterday to get Diiny.

Today, though, he's all about the easy JJJ lynch. He has precisely one point of evidence: he's been going on about JJJ's Mac connection all day, despite the fact that everyone is perfectly clear on it. I think he's trying to lock up the lynch without making it look like he is. Which actually makes me wonder if my vote should be on Floyd after all. If there has been a save attempt in the thread so far, this is the one. It's just subtle enough that people might miss it, and just unsubstantiated enough that he might be able to laugh it off.

Linki: Oh wow, big push toward seaside here. Holy cow. That's a bit nerve-wracking.

motel room, my suspicion of Mac arose because he was willing to lynch civs for no good reason. I've suspected people for less. I'll read you in full by tomorrow, but since you won't be lynched today and I'm short on time it's not worth the bother. As it stands now, I consider you a major suspect. I see you voted me for most of the day - what do you find suspicious about me?
Just so its clear, cos I dont think it's clear, your answers to Epi are regarding seaside right? Cos I didn't do any of that stuff but you're talking about both of us in the "Why?" post Epi asked about.

I found you suspicious from the way Mac treated you and how his "suspicions" of you never panned out. That and how you seem to pop in just to drop a vote and then vanish. But now I also have your actions this end of day to read and figure out how I feel.

I didn't see anything in Floyd's history that makes me really want him dead. I think the scum slip theories are overblown, and beyond that there's just not much there.

Nah you should quote it cos I don't like you dropping into the thread after no content and trying to drum up shit without context.

I'm not sure how I can further explain it. I think JJJ may be town and made the same mistaken judgement on mac as I did. I'm not confident enough to fight his lynch and can see benefit from him as a lynch contender being removed from further chatter. He has even said the same thing himself. My theory is that at least 1 out of you three is scum.
It is possible 4 u both to be though.

I don't see the point in wasting a lynch on someone who was gonna die anyway.
I looked through your posts and your big mega reason for isolating these three names and apparently never considering anyone else seriously was from a vote wagon way back in the game. Why? Have your reads not changed based on further events since then? Is there a role (whether its yours or you want us to think it is) that would make you so narrow minded to only consider these names? Or are you just fixating on something to make you look interested enough to disinvolve you from current shit in the thread?

Good question.

Last game I was mafia, I did jackshit the whole game, just teasing people and having fun. A Gentleman's Guide to Mafia

The time before that, after doing shenanigans on Day 1, I was the most vocal scumhunty player in the game (after MP was nightkilled). I wasn't a great "civilian", but I was the most active. Angry Birds Mafia

I was also mafia in Recruitment Mafia, but I was recruited to the mafia team Night 5, and the game doesn't really describe one's "mafia style" like a normal game would. But we still had to eliminate the other mafia team, and we were successful.

Looking back, our teams did win all three of those games, and they happened to be 3 of the last 4 games I've played here.

Dunno if that tells you much. My style in some ways stays consistent, but in some ways changes drastically from game-to-game, and also depending on the game size and location.
So why would you be so surprised that someone might find your play in this game scummy? You don't seem too vocal scumhunty this game, maybe more like your first example, but if you're good at switching masks as scum why act like its confusing why we should think this particular mask is scummy?

Mac himself has mostly seemed towny to me, up until he jumped off his Sorsha wagon and started pursuing Matt F over what started as a mild ping or whatever he called it. After that it seemed like mac was in chaos mode and was less about "who is scum" and more about "what can I get away with". But I say "was" because I like how he responded to Matt F's accusation - I read some others are using this as evidence against but I see it as positive evidence.
My theory was sketchy (to be fair, it was) but I'm more interested in "Mac's maybe bad but no but maybe and oh yeah a few days later I will do my damndest to get Strawhenge to save Mac and then say I was trying to get him to slip up" ?!?!
This is going to be me defending myself but basically I'm being as transparent as I can in the post I wrote. I thought Mac was town and the only point where I doubted that was when he switched off the Sorsha wagon he was fighting for to jump on you which didnt feel genuine. But then the way he responded made comfortable again that he was just being fiery rather than seeing what he could get away with. I was wrong.

He may have wanted out and told teammates not to fight it too hard but I really doubt it was a planned bus. My two cents, for the guy who is pretty sure Mac is scum cos of that idea. I still think mac is town.
Second theory in a row that makes Mac look bad that Motel Room says "NOPE NOT HAVIN' IT"

Towards the end of the Day Phase, Motel Room and 3J try their hardest to get Strawhenge to change his vote to save Mac. Later after lynch says he was tryinig to get Strawhenge to "slip up". Bogus. Bogus bogus bogus.
Yes I defended Mac again, and yes I was pressuring Straw to see what he'd do but I dont see how they're related here?

I think he's suss but that translated into a vote from me because he kept being mentioned as suss back on day 1 but he was never a lynch contender, which is a thing that I feel scum can then point back at their posts and say "i thought he was suss, see". Anyway I had a vote on him for a good portion of today and he hasn't flinched or questioned it or brought it up, not sure what that says. And now he's lead lynchguy, there's even an unexplained vote from Choutas on him (or well, I havent seen him mention his vote in thread).

So like, I dunno are we missing something here?
At this point, has a conversation with Epi about the Long Con lynch. Epi doesn't want to lynch Long Con, motel room asks why, Epi explains, motel room does this...
motel room wrote:Alright, switching to Choutas, hi
What's hilarious about this, is after the lynch period is over, motel room immediately sets his sights on Sorsha (a civilian) and Epignosis...even though he was quite easily swayed by Epignosis to change his vote. motel room just comes off real bad here IMO. But no matter, eventually when people aren't feeling the Choutas lynch, motel room does this before Day 2 ends...
I was swayed by the amount of vouching for Long Con that was coming from the Syndicate camp. It wasn't just Epignosis. It was the reverse of what just happened with RYMers and Mac. So later, I guess the hilarious part?, I was ok with a Sorsha lynch because it was generated by ppl I kinda trusted, and Epi was my own read still. This was after like 3 real life days of not being online also bear in mind.

This is back when Sorsha pointed out my mistake in thinking Roxy and Zebra were on the baddie team together. What's interesting, is before this, motel room doesn't bother to tell anyone "yeah he outright said it", only waits until a civvie lets people know. It is important to note that motel room does previous say "oh Keterman = RBZ" but never stops me from making accusations at Roxy or RBZ because of it...not until Sorsha does anyway.

I get the feeling he's in a bit over his head, our Floyd.
Nice defense of baddie Floyd.
He's new. He's like 16 I think and he's only just discovering that people can be fake and manipulative (judging by a thread he started over in RYM). Forgive me if I don't hammer his balls for saying odd things according to the way we play this. He may well be scum but I've seen new town say things they dont understand the connotations of before in innocence.

How do you know he's scum? Heavy accentuation on the word K N O W.

Already answered on Floyd. And here's a thing, but you can try and paint it as defence of a teammate or whatever you want but I got a PM from Roxy, non-game related, about some interrogation room thing for this site. Now I don't believe people on the internet are real so I rarely engage but perhaps Floyd did?

Or perhaps not, maybe he's a scum that slipped. I don't know because I'm not in a position to know.

Have you seen Caddyshack? There's a scene where Rodney Dangerfield is driving his yacht all crazy and mowing down rich folk in smaller boats and one guy looks over, looks away, then does a double look with his eyes all HUGE before jumping into the water seconds before his boat gets crushed. This reads like you're acting that guy's scene out for office colleagues in the kitchenette, in that it feels like you're describing your confusion over the top. :nicenod:

At least I'm pretty sure that's Caddyshack.

And on that flowery post I'm out for a bit. Work's over.

Are you kidding mate? Because I thought you were staying away from the lynch intentionally. Because I wanted to force your hand and if you were scum you would already know how the lynches would result so would have to think about how you would appear on the other side and could then read that in your nervousness or your gung-ho-ness or your indecision or your misdirection. You stood your ground and did nothing. You didn't disappear from the thread, I think that's a good thing. You made some leaps in logic, like Matt pointed out, I think that's bad.

The only thing I wasn't counting on was Mac being scum. That screwed with my read.

Dont overuse the not-confident\being confused card. That's why anyone pressures anyone. So we can read how they reacted.

Wait WHAT? What does this sentence mean? I thought you and Jay were simply trying to get Straw to save Mac. What do you mean you and Jay were trying to get him to "slip up" ? I'm not following.
No, I can't speak for jjj but all I wanted was to get him to move his vote from "nowhere" to "somewhere" (either Diiny or Mac). The pressure was because if he were scum being all safe over on metalmarsh he might do something he'd regret under pressure, so when he did nothing the safe option I was all ready to finger point.
This doesn't explain why you used the phrase 'slip up.' That denotes you were trying to make me make a mistake.

Well yeah. From the perspective of you being safe-voting-scum, if there was a mistake for you to make I wanted you to either make it or overthink so hard that you made it anyway.

Well, 3J said that Mac was one of his strongest town reads because it was MacD who originally went after Long Con for his Bea gambit.

Anything is possible.

I think it's more likely that you and Straw are Floyd's teammates, however, I'm not ruling JJJ out.
You're right anything is possible. I'm not in there though.

Does a WTF to Floyd, but rest of game wants people to back off of him. Also, since MacD was scum himself, you'd think he'd use this post of Floyd's to completely go after him. Afterwards, he could simply say "Well you saw what he said about being rivals!!" But no, doesn't go after him.

Other people who have lightly questioned Floyd for his MULTIPLE scum slips in the game but never went after him:

i did that thing about asking about his PMs and he fell for it but every time I try and do a trap like that in RYM I only get townies who just didnt get what i was insinuating. Also I felt bad after.

So check it out. Strawhenge doesn't want to vote for Diiny or Mac because he doesn't have a strong read on either, and yet he is going to accuse a few players of trying to get him to save their "scum buddy". If Straw really wasn't "buying it", and thought you all were trying to get him to save your "scum buddy", then why didn't he simply vote for Mac?

:ponder:

Btw, anyone besides JJJ, including Strawhenge, can tell me what you think about this.
I was ready to bring down wrath for not voting someone because I feel like staying away from potential trouble is scum m.o. but I was expecting mac to flip town and so now i think Straw, if he were scum, could've made something of the situation by voting either of them really. Diiny to potentially save mac and wear the shame with rest of us if mac died in the 50/50, or voted mac and got some glory.
Am I misreading?
I think he avoided voting for either because...

a) If he voted Diiny but Mac was lynched, that looks bad.

b) If he voted Mac and Mac was lynched, people could say "Well that's interesting that you finally voted Mac last minute".

I personally believe him sticking with his vote was perfect. However, what I'm questioning, is why he would call Mac a scum by accusing you and Jay of trying to save your "scum buddy", but not vote for him. That makes ZERO sense. If he thought Mac was your scum buddy, then why not vote for him over Diiny? Why?
In his ratings at the time he felt that Diiny was scummier than mac too, so I'll def agree there's very little logic here.
