I'm not sure how you could disagree since your point is exactly why I think Mafia isn't for him. If you expect defences at face value to be accepted then there is no game and if your reaction to that is as emotional as his was I would encourage him to not play because it's not healthy.

I have never come across a Glorfindel before. What an utterly magnificent and unusual human being. Mafia is not for Glorfindels though.
