You tell me! Because of Dom, it sounds like. Just my perception, of course. But look at what epi said to me 'we're not lynching yiu, we're lynching quin.'
Epi has yet to provide a valid post or interaction that supports his argument, so Epi isn't the most reliable guy right now.

Linki @epi - why are you so convinced I'm pissy and not relaxed? I'm on holiday - I'm chilled as. I literally do not care that you suspect me one iota. I don't deny that suspecting me is rational, especially after Dom flipped. But Epi's specific case against me isn't rational at all.

To break it down, he threw a post at me claiming it could be detected even though all signs point towards that not being the case; his accusation rests on the belief that either DDL or Snow Dog is my teammate, and although I've pressed him to elaborate three times now, he still hasn't given me the time of day about it; he's accusing me of fabricating my reads even though he's the last person who should be accusing me of that given that he was my teammate in Mad Max.

No, I just don't see a situation where you could be behaving this irrationally if you were a civ. And your baddie game is better than this. Your argument against me doesn't make sense, you're using crappy examples to back it up, you still haven't addressed my counter to your case, and this is just one occurrence of this behaviour. Your interaction with Spacedaisy about your unfounded trust of Long Con is yet another example of this.

3J said the same thing about me in the last game we were in.

He was the serial killer.

Whether I'm civ or not doesn't make you any less irrational. 3J being the SK didn't make you any less irrational in that game either. I don't make up reasons to accuse people that aren't legitimate. You most definitely know that considering you were my teammate in Mad Max.

That post was phrased from my own perspective, so unless Dom has the ability peer into my mind and read my thoughts, he couldn't check that. And even if he could, it'd come back as the truth considering there's nobody who doesn't have a reason to scum-hunt in this game.

Definitely not the same Snow Dog that we saw in Monkey Island. I have already given an opinion on his play:
Long Con wrote:I am suspicious of Snow Dog because of his drastically different playstyle. He wants to go fast and loose this game, carefree and a bit chaotic. It's a fine choice, and one that a Civ might make to survive longer (because who wants to nightkill the court jester? He's no threat...), but my other feeling is a bit stronger, that he is a baddie that wants to avoid a lynch by acting that way. It's really hard to separate truly suspicious behaviour from fun chaos behaviour. Which would be the point. It's not nearly enough for me to advocate Snow Dog's lynch though... and anyway, I owe him for our last game together, and I want to follow through on that.
A question to everyone: do you think Dom lie-detected Quin as bad, or was he just upset about his lynch and lashing out at the stand-out vote? I can understand the idea that a baddie Quin would vote off the main wagon under normal circumstances (as in: a lynch that had some voting variety), but I'm not sure that Quin's DDL vote warranted that accusation from Dom.
If you have the time, I'd recommend you go through my posts and see if you can pick out anything that Dom could have checked that would incriminate me. I don't think you'd be able to. As for my voting off the main wagons - that's just me. As a civ, I did it in Red vs Blue, and as a baddie, I did it in Mad Max. It's as 3J calls it 'a convenient meta'. :p
I did go through your posts looking for a detectable statement. There was at least once where you said "I'm a civ" but it was in a longer sentence which could have possibly made it a non-detectable. One thing I did notice was you pointing out a statement Epi made for Josephine to detect... if you were concerned about her getting a detectable statement I wonder why you didn't make a clear one for her.
Just going off my experience with the role, 'I'm a civ' wouldn't have been detectable.

I assume that this is the post that you're referring to about Epi:

They are. It's the basic nature of the game. Multi-faction games kind of damp that, but generally, mafias are passive.

The game thread is about finding scum. It's what everyone is either doing, or pretending to be doing. The side that is not doing it is the passive one.

Mafias can do things (like manipulate players to act their way and such), but most of them are just smokescreen so civs don't realize they are not actually doing jack shit. Mafias want the day to end already so they can kill players faster and get to LyLo.
Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Also when I say "passive", it's not about number of posts. A player can make 100 posts a day and still not do anything. The scariest baddies are the ones who can do exactly that and still be hard to read, imo.
So, really, "passive baddies" equals people whose cases DDL doesn't agree with?

This just feels very subjective, and not warranting grand statements like calling it the "basic nature of the game."

DDL, when you are bad, do you not try to play as closely to your civ game as possible? Thinking that "aggressive" = civ, and "passive" = scum, wouldn't you try to be as aggressive as possible regardless of alignment?

It feels like a system where you'll always be townread, regardless of actual alignment.
The first statement is putting things in my mouth. I didn't say that.

My baddie game is a work in progress since I'm usually pretty terrible at it and I've only recently played my first game where I lived until the end as bad. So I can't really say much about how I play as baddie, I change it every game. What I can say is, if someone is bad, they will try to look like they are scumhunting, but other than those games with two or more factions, baddies can't scumhunt. So they have to pretend they are doing it. Since that's the number one thing the game thread is for, baddies are passive in the game thread by nature. They have to pretend they are doing the one thing everyone is doing.

And yes, my opinion are subjective. Problem? I refuse to change them because some people think having them makes me a baddie.
You underestimate good mafia. When I'm bad, I can do nothing and still make you think I'm your only hope.
I think Josephine needs to fact check this.
Which was referencing the part I coloured blue - it was a joke. Making a lie detectable statement wasn't a concern for me.

Re: A Mafia of Unfortunate Events [NIGHT 3]

If there's no personal problems, then 'You have lost all value you could possibly have as a player' was a completely unnecessary thing to say.

I'm probably not in a great mood right now either, so I apologise. I'll just try and put this as plainly as I can, and I'll probably elaborate tomorrow morning.

I found your original case against me disingenuous, and your justification that you 'accuse first, research later' didn't sit well with me. Others brought up good points against you, none of which I can recall you ever discussing - instead you just continued throwing out your opinions on other topics. That's kamikaze play, and I don't know how to read that.

I didn't let it go on Day 2 specifically because you hadn't discussed the case against you.

We've been in this massive beef since where we're both accusing each other of OMGUSing one another. I don't think your accusations against me hold weight specifically because you've done the same things.

1. You accused me of twisting conversations into a reason to suspect someone. The context behind that was me asking you a question.
2. You accused me of ignoring your case, much like I said about you.

You can call it what you like, but don't pretend I'm a brick wall who's not listening to what you're saying, because I'm the only one of us who's actually tried to interact with the other person.

I don't think Not Dom will end up lynched, but why do you suspect him?...because I'm bad.
He just comes across as completely disingenuous in - I can't do this :disappoint:

I'll probably vote DDL again. Him being all but cleared on one baddie team does not a civ make. Lately he's accused me of doing the exact same thing that he did, being that he tried to spin conversations into a cause to suspect someone.

Why don't you read what I said and talk about it, instead of quoting what Eloh said about what I said, then using it to say I'm full of shit?

If she's wrong, then Eloh just tried to misconstrue the effort that you went to in your catch up. How do you feel about that?
I've thought about this question. I think Elo's remark shows just laziness from her part (or being busy IRL, or whatever). She just didn't memorize what I said and didn't bother to check. There's hardly an attempt to indict me because such a thing would backfire.

I'm more worried about what could be an attempt from you to create suspicion on me based on what she said, and when that doesn't work, create suspicion on her. You seem far too eager to find someone with malicious intentions in this conversation.
And now I'm accusing you of refusing to defend yourself from my accusations.
Yet another ironic accusation considering you completely ignored my case building on Day 2.

We're still doing better then that game.

I mean technically we're only two civs down, one mafia member, then another three unknowns. So I'd say we're doing pretty good. Also who knows maybe I'll have another god like meta/gut read I can talk about next phase. :p

If not? Then I've got no idea who we should lynch. :(
I was more-so referring to the atomic bomb of suspicion I'm anticipating coming into the next day phase :haha:

This, for starters. He doesn't say why voting for sprityo makes Soneji look bad.
Assuming this was before the Day 2 flip, I don't like it either. It reeks of foresight.

If Dom is bad, this is strike 2 for you.

I've done pretty well so doing the opposite of Quin. I think I will try again. *voting Dom too*
Well look at you pointing fingers before there's even a flip. And nice to see you voting again with a justification that excludes your actual suspicion of the guy.

I get to have as many strikes as I want, Eloh, because I'm pretty sure you're bad.

Rather than focus on sprityo's team, I would like to have a crack at the other. That's a good deal harder than finding teammates. So there's where my focus will be.

If there's no advancement to be had on that front, then fine lynch a sprityo teammate. I won't complain.
Why wouldn't you want to eliminate one of the teams as quickly as possible? Would make it so that there is a kill only every other phase.

Really busy today. The Dom wagon looks really solid based on JoH's and sig's posts, so that is where I will vote.
What's deterring you from voting LC, who you claimed to have read as moderate scum?

I would like to point out that I would bet that the Lotab kill probably had someone involved in the decision who knew she was in Israel. Most likely a friend of hers, letting her enjoy her trip without worrying about mafia. Why else would a mafia team kill her when she is busy and fairly disengaged from the game?
Mr. Poe is a civilian. ;)
This error looks good on Spacedaisy, because a member of Esme's team, the team that killed last night, would not make this error...as a baddie. It's not impossible that it's contrived - I don't read it that way at all though, but it's something that one could do...as a baddie.

I have to wonder why Sprit replaced Glor. Glor was pretty active. I know glor has a hard time being mafia, so maybe it was too much pressure.

This is all I have to go on right now, unfortunately. So, *voting Sprit*
I think there are much more significant topics being discussed right now which make for better votes than than voting based on a flimsy hypothesis on why someone might have subbed out.

Okay I somehow managed to miss eloh saying this and I agree with quin. This is lazy playing, an easy out.
This is interesting from Quin, some soft defense of Sprityo and quin was on another wagon. Which could have taken off.

I think the troupe was trying to avoid being on the same vote as Sprityo, since that would have put them under fire if/when Sprityo flipped. So instead they low key defended him/attacked people who were agaisnt him and joined other or started potential wagons.
It wasn't a soft defence. I made it pretty blatant over the course of the day that I opposed the main reason people were piling votes on sprityo. If you're gonna throw a case at me, make it hurt.
Quin likes it when you make it hurt apparently.
