When I played Red vs Blue the day ended at like 5 in the morning so I missed EoD all but maybe one timeindiglo wrote:Ok, I voted:
LoRab and Zou Ci
I think LoRab is bad, and I'm just not confident enough which, if any, of the other leading vote takers are bad. So, I voted Zou Ci in case that triggers something awesome and cool, not because I want Zou Ci gone. And because I don't think he's in danger of taking other votes. But what if he gets something for receiving a vote?
Eep, what if his role says he implodes if he even gets 1 vote? I didn't think of that before I voted for him.
I couldn't stop over analyzing, and I really need to get going with my evening and log off. I will say this - this is the first time I've played a game where the thread closes at night, and I actually really, really like it. It's such a nice break after over thinking everything for 48 hours.
It's about lunch time right now, so this is a great change of pace for me too.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 12]
MP was definitely buddying in his green list. When I looked at it I went through all of the players who were active throughout the thread before that point, and Dom definitely was, he just didn't make the list, and I think that means something.indiglo wrote:Quin wrote:I developed what I think is a strong case for MP and Dom being teammates here, indiglo. Spoiler: show
He has a few posts around this time where he's pretty strongly defending Dom. He instigated a CFD on timmer because he didn't like the three main wagons. Dom is the only unknown there and MP could have easily gotten by not opposing the main trains. He says he understands why Dom is getting attention and calls the cases against him weak, which is contradictory imo. I saw teamie potential between Dom and Wilgy/Marmot, but I'm seeing it stronger here.
I definitely see what you're saying here with the defense of Dom by MP. I think that, if we just look at those exchanges, it does look like MP could be defending a teammate. At the same time, when I was ISOing MP, he seemed to be buddying up to a whole bunch of players. He basically just said every active player was civ, and he could see where they're coming from. He even defended a few other players, although I don't recall him ever saying that the other lynches were BS the way he did with Dom.
So I could see his defense of Dom going either way. It could be teammate defending, OR civ buddying. I guess I just don't see it as 100% definitive indication of teammate-ness. How lame. I wish I did see it as definitive. Then I could go ahead and vote and just be done with it!

Quick question though,
How come we are having so many people pop on, not talk about who they're voting for, and just vote and run away again with no discussion? That is not good my friends. Working together is all we've got. Now I don't expect a dissertation here, but at least a few words, and a few moments consideration before just splattering the poll with a mish mash of votes. It looks like it's been sprayed with machine gun fire!
But I do approve of the LoRab votes.
This is all I want in life. If people could just do this, I could die happy.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 12]
I came to a similar conclusion in an earlier post, but without LoRab because I'm 99 percent sure he just got the two names mixed up and the dialogue just went in that direction. I also mentioned that sig looks bad in my analysisindiglo wrote:Reading MetalMarsh...
Here's a pattern I noticed. (Which, JJJ picked up on straight away, earning himself a NK from the Nan)
MM talked to Wilgy (his Nan teammate) a LOT in the thread. In fact, in many of MM's posts he would refer to Wilgy and 1 other player. For example (I am just posting a brief sampling, the patterns I noticed happened over a large number of MM's posts, and multiple times, but to save space and time I'm keeping this post as brief as I can):
Metalmarsh89 wrote:I give my votes to DrWilgy and JaggedJimmyJay, in hopes they will perform as they did in Talking Heads mafia.
I'm leaving for a camping trip soon. I'll be back on Wednesday. Peace!Metalmarsh89 wrote:I'm voting for DrWilgy and Turnip Head in the hopes that one of them will end up dueling me. Oh, and the day ends in 75 minutes.
Catch you all later.
In both these, he talked about Wilgy and first JJJ and then TH. What do JJJ and TH both have in common? They were NKed by Nan. So MM likes to talk about his teammates, and his NK targets this game, apparently.
He did make a few posts that actually didn't mention Wilgy, like this one:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:Well there you go. Have a good rest.Jan wrote:Oh lord, turns out I misunderstood the whole point that person was making. And here as well, I thought you were trying to convince me to make wild guesses by giving me that proportion.Metalmarsh89 wrote:
You have a 71% chance of being correct about a civilian read.
You have a 29% chance of being correct about a non-civilian read.
Therefore, civilian reads are more likely to be accurate.
I thought they basically had said that civilians are more likely to read scum correctly than scum, which is pretty obvious and facepalmed.
I guess I should go to sleep.
He also had a few posts going back and forth with Scotty where he did NOT mention Wilgy. That makes me think that neither Jan nor Scotty are teammates with MM, because he broke his usual pattern of mentioning a teammate, and a NK target.
Then, there's this post, which kind of sticks out like a sore thumb to me:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:Are you not having fun?JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I should just start playing like MM. He has more fun than I do.
Stay determined friend.
LoRab hasn't posted yet DrWilgy. Does that bother you?DrWilgy wrote:How could you forget about me LoRab? I was at work and had dnd night, but never left...nutella wrote:Oh I also want to hear more from Wilgy. I feel like he's usually a lot more active than this, but I keep forgetting he's even in this game and I don't think that's a good sign. Likewise with sig, to a slightly lesser extent.
Here's why it sticks out like a sore thumb: he sticks to his pattern of mentioning Wilgy and a NK target (JJJ) but he also mentions nutella and LoRab in the same post. Neither of which has been NKed by Nan. That's what leaves me scratching my head. Anytime he's mentioned Wilgy (which was a LOT) it was also in a post with someone the Nan NKed. Then, he has some interactions in other posts with people I deem non-teammates, due to his pattern. Then, he has this - fits the pattern, but also has extra names. Are those extra names additional teammates? I can't know, but it definitely piques my interest.
Makes me want to do a read on both nutella and LoRab. Thoughts?
For now, I will move on to Wilgy, the other known Nan.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 12]
Also, something that people probably already have figured out for themselves, but just in case:
We'll know when we can deliberate whether we've exhausted the Yellow Turban kill or not. Right now we cannot, because we haven't lynched Dong Zhuo. The fact that the YT kill has stopped makes me think one of two (three, including a tinfoil) things:
1) The final YT is inactive
2) The final YT is dead but Dong Zhuo is inactive
A tinfoil, assuming the Dong Zhuo kill will be named as such in the night posts:
3) Dong Zhuo has inherited the kill, but is withholding their kill to make us continue looking for YT teammates.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 12]
I'm looking at Simon and nijuu right now, and I'm not really garnering (is that the right word?) anything from their posts.
So instead, let's discuss their voting histories.
Simon
On Day 1, he voted 3J along with MacDougall, Dom and Bubblei. He was alone in doing so on Day 2. I need to read into the context behind these decisions. More to the point, 3J was killed night 2. All of 3J's votes while he was alive were for confirmed civs (besides Scotty for prefect), so I imagine if 3J were being treated as a normal civ (or at least, a normal 'not on the same team as the one who killed him'), he wouldn't be topping the priority list for a night kill. From my experience playing with him, I imagine that being 3J, baddies are always going to put a target on his back whether he's on the right track with his reads or not. I'll read into the argument against 3J and decide whether I think there's something there or not. Nobody died on Night 1 even though we know that the nanman were in part active, so I think that was a game mechanic and not activity based - and that also means that Night 2 was the earliest night kills could be submitted. I think this is more in favor to the four I mentioned, because it would be much easier to night kill 3J than to kill him in a duel, so putting votes on him seems like a pointless endeavor.
I don't have anything specific to say about Simon past this point, but he self-votes often which tells me he's very likely a warrior, and probably not a Yellow Turban.
A question for Simon - why did you vote MP?
I'll look at nijuu later. I had a million thoughts about what could be and what couldnt be just with this and I want a break

I put Simon and nijuu in the same category as people who at one point did contribute, but are now just dropping off their votes late for unspecified reasons. I'll read into them both and give my thoughts soon.
Does anyone have GTH's they'd like to share with the class?
In other news, I'm sick again. Or to be more specific, that weird stage where it could go either way and I just feel awful but I'm not hindered by it at all.

I'm going to step back from my Dom vote for today. Nothing's come of time and time again so I'll try something else by voting Dunny and nijuu. I'm putting some faith in Zuo Ci because I agree that he very well could be 3J, and nijuu because I've observed her in this game often placing votes for innapropriate reasons given the context of the game at the time.

I probably won't vote indiglo today. Part of it is that she's done a good job of integrating herself from the get-go, which I like. Another part of it is that I want to keep her around just because she's probably more active than half the current living players already and from a 'having fun' motivation, killing active players sucks.

I wasn't suggesting anything, I just wanted to hear your thought process. I read back into yours and INH's dialogue and I can see a natural flow to your suspicion of him, so I'm content with that.Scotty wrote:I found his absence striking around day 3 or so, and gave him time to make cases and prove himself. I might be a little biased because he was a fellow prefect, but I didn't like his nonchalance. Added to the fact that he voted in tandem with MM just gave me blinders. Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 11]
This trend of lynching inactive baddies based on them being inactive has never worked out for me before now, so this is a new experience for me. It happened by a fluke in Red vs Blue, I guess. I don't know anything about BTSC unfortunately.Matahari wrote:Hi Indi, welcome. I replaced in too, and I'm a bit more comfortable now, but still find myself researching posts constantly. Good luck to you.
I have found four players who did not seem eager to vote inactives. Quin, Sig (sorry Indi), Golden, and Lorab (in sideways fashion? Lorab suspected Glorf, I think, for mentioning inactives a lot, as though he was trying to point suspicion their way, but she also pointed out that he only mentioned voting them once, and she found this suspicious for some reason).
On the one hand, this is suspicious because we have turned up 2 bad inactives now, but on the other hand, there is more btsc than just bad teams. I also have a theory that Epignosis is not replacing the mafia inactives. I could be wrong there, of course, but I'm kind of stuck on that.
If I'm gonna say something, I'll say that I didn't oppose of lynching INH - it just happened that a significant part of the case against him was that he didn't live up to peoples expectations as a prefect, therefore bad - which was objectively silly. I still stand by my thought process that the people who pushed against him with that case deserve further scrutiny.
I'm still not completely well, my throat feels like someones been fishing around in there with a razor Nevertheless, I'll get back into the swing of things - not that there's been much thread content recently

Even when we had known YT's alive, their kill rate was low. I think there is some pre-condition to be met for their kill to go through.

Do you think that whoever we voted for took over the sock?Golden wrote:I'm guessing that the messages are coming from someone you listed as bad, that isn't.
I don't think Zuo Ci is Zhang Bao. I think he is Jay.
I do think that the earlier sock (whoever it was that was only speaking in chinese) could have been Zhang Bao, just because of the whole apparitions thing associated with his role.
Zuo Ci is much different to her on a mechanical level, so I don't think that they're in the same boat.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]
I don't think the fact that he didn't live up to the expectations people set for him as a prefect is a good reason to lynch him, so I'm definitely wary of some of his voters.

sig still has not posted since i joined this game. That's beyond the point of being suspicious, he clearly just has things going on and can't play right now. But he's not ruled out as a suspect. Voting for him isn't a bad option in a game like this. With this many inactive players and a lack of strong active suspects (for me, at least), it's feeling more and more likely that lynching inactive players can catch us a bad guy or two. It's never going to be my favorite strategy, but I hate it less in a game like this.
sig has posted for brief periods during Day 2, and he made a good point against TH in however limited his activity was.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]
I didn't take your voting record into account, that list is made up almost entirely of the interactions of confirmed baddies. Your soft accusation to sig and Wilgy caught my attention just because I'd already come up with a thought processes for a sig/Wilgy team. Yours isn't the strongest case I have in that list, especially since sig hasn't flipped, so I do think you deserve scrutiny, but I don't think you should be voted today if we're voting based off of my insight (which you shouldn't - get your own damn cases )nutella wrote:Quin, I'm not sure why you think I'm "potential nanman," and to be honest I don't really understand how you arrived at most of your list (I kind of get the Dom and TH part I guess). Could you elaborate? What makes you think I could be nanman based on those posts and taking my voting record into account?

I don't know. Like I said, his green list was just composed of then-active players so I don't know if future-proofing himself was his motivation.Scotty wrote:We can scrutinize TH all we want. as for MP's green list, do you think those on the list are suspicious? Because I would not expect Mp to complete disregard his team on a green list. I'd expect 1-2 maybe.
Looks like you've got Nutella as a potential Nanman. I seem to remember getting shit for even suggesting the link because of MP's and nutella's fracas in the early days. I do think that the Wilgy WIFOM referring to LoRab may or may not have to do with Nutella, since he was technically replying to nutella's post.
I'm still down to vote Nutella and INH. For the 3rd (4th?) day in a row. And I'm fine in avoiding anyone that's dueled before.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 1]
Spoiler: show
I already mentioned that Mac looks good out of the fallout from that post. The back and forth they had was way too emotional and heated to be premeditated in BTSC. It helps my read when after the fact MP still went through the dialogue and made an actual case on him. Mac, I don't think you ever responded to it - I tried posting it here again but every time I tried to the formatting went all weird and chunks got cut out of it. It's on his second page of posts and I'd very much like it if you could talk about it.
I'm pretty confident in saying nutella isn't a yellow turban. I don't think MP in his current PhD workload would really want to go to the effort of duelling his own teammate and potentially killing a teammate more active than he is.MovingPictures07 wrote:DDL, just here quickly to say that I don't understand how you're coming to the meta assessments of me this game. I don't think I'm patient and I don't at all think that I always react patiently to suspicion when I'm civilian. So if you suspect me for your meta assessment of me, I'm not sure what to say about that. I'm sorry I didn't try to converse with you on it but I keep popping on here when instead I should be studying and I don't have the time to get bogged down in a conversation right now. I just wanted to quickly post my observation because it appeared to me that you were misrepresenting me, and I found that suspicious. Like I said, if you suspect me because I barely talked about MM, cool, I honestly expected more heat about that by now. I was wrong about him, but I didn't like the way everyone was bandwagoning him for what I saw as barely alignment indicative behavior, especially since he and Wilgy WIFOM the fuck out of each other every game. I'm willing to take responsibility for the fact that I was wrong.
And lol Dom, you suspect me in every game we play together, so I knew it was a matter of time. I don't feel like arguing with you and I don't have the time. But I'll just point out that timmer wanted to duel and he wasn't bad, so... yeah. I have my reasons. Trust me. I wanted to duel nutella today.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]
I don't...actually expect anyone to answer that thing about Dom. I kind of went ahead without concluding that one.
The quality of his suspicions kind of fluxuates between legitimate and forced, and that shouldn't be happening for a baddie who's legitimately scum hunting (as I think he was). He makes a good point against nutella that I'd typically associate with baddie behaviour, so I think that one was legitimate. His Dom and TH cases give off a teamie vibe of sorts, though.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]
I'll go in order of when each person flipped for this, and just highlight any interactions or posts that stand out.
---
DrWilgy
He voted sig for prefect on a 'first to do [action]'. I recall this method getting a bit of scrutiny early on because it could easily enough be a premeditated baddie move. So I figured I'd mention this.
Sort of a softball sus at Wilgy and sig from nutella. There are more people that those two who's inactivity was apparent on Day 1, and I've just previously brought up a connection between Wilgy and sig, so I can't help but look into this. Another observation is that he mixed up nutella and LoRab's names. But nothing more than that at this point.
Considering LoRab didn't even show up until Day 2 I'm inclined to think he's talking about nutella. Or maybe this is just some complex mindfuck orchestrated by The Syndicates most incomprehensible baddie team to distance themselves from a teammate.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]
I won't be volunteering, no. I still think we should be putting our top scum reads up every time. We don't need to worry about the probabilities of a civ volunteer losing if we aren't putting a civ read on the chopping block on the first place. We're more likely to learn things this way too, which is something that I believe Scotty was getting at earlier.Matahari wrote:In this game, volunteering to be voted isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are some incentives to dueling, but I take it that you won't be volunteering, since you find it suspicious. Given the mechanics of the game, I don't see it as cut and dried as you see it. I'll reread your posts on it to see the reasons you elaborated on.Quin wrote:I'll do my analysis of the flipped baddies this afternoon. But I also do have a fairly meaty report due at the end of the week so my activity might be a bit more 'spotty' until then. I usually say this and then wind up being twice as active as I was before, probably because of how much of a procrastinator I am , but it doesn't hurt to mention just in case I drop off the face of the earth.
