Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [ENDGAME]
I didn't really know what to do with my role, because from the beginning I didn't have anything specific to say that I wasn't prepared to say on this account. Early on I was just trying to gauge reactions, but I started to hint at who I was in hopes that the baddies would realise my role and that it wasn't particularly threatening to them and they'd keep me alive

I wasn't really sure what to make of you when you tried to get me lynched before, I just couldn't see a single reason as to why a civ would try it. I mean, at least fudge a real caseBass_the_Clever wrote:Awesome game everyone!! Sorry Quin I really thought you were bad. Lol . We did it JJJ thanks so much for the much needed help at the end.

I thought for a moment that you might actually be the role checker, but I figured you weren't because you were saying Bass was bad, and I was under the impression you were wrong because of what 3J said. I figured since he had BTSC I thought that he was defending Aragorn and Bass based on that. I was half right, I suppose. I'm not sure what the whole Bass/3J thing was all about, they won together so it must have something to do with something.
Speaking of 3J, he really likes the word 'inspire'

So happy this ended with a civ win. I feel like this was one of my better games
Still, sucks not to win in the long run, but my focus was always on hunting baddies rather than officially winning.
@glorfindel you praise me too highly, I'm blushing.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 16]
I don't want to get on a high horse and declare myself a confirmed civ, but my thought process right now is this:
When the day began, I was kind of surprised that I wasn't dead. Scotty had definitely cleared me as civ, and since indiglo assisted him in getting there I'd say she's of that opinion as well. The fact that I'm not dead makes me confident in saying that the SK is among Simon, nijuu, DFaraday and Boomslang. None of them were around at the time the interaction between Scotty, indiglo and I transpired. Their lack of presence thus far makes me think they're more likely to be skimming the thread, and it's likely that they missed it in their catch up (if there was one).
Really, I just don't see anybody who's been highly invested in the game choosing Scotty over me as a NK target.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 16]
I'm gonna listen to the messenger and see if anything stands out in yesterdays wagon that might give me a rainbow list for the SK. I tried reading back through people's posts to see whether anyone was overly focused on YT's, but that's incomplete and I'll get back to it today and tomorrow.
What I know already is that everyone who did vote (so basically, everyone except Simon) voted leetic yesterday. I don't really know what he'd have done and I don't think it's worth guessing.

I kind of had Scotty pinned as the alignment checker, but it really doesn't make sense. Unless it does, in which case, someone should tell me.
I think it's more likely they died early, because I've been looking through posts for sudden changes of opinion after a duel for quite a while, and nothings really stood out to me.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]
I don't think he's leading us astray either, nor do I think he's super obviously wrong. I'm just questioning what we should be prioritising - the inactive YT, or the SK in the waiting. leetic is the safe choice, but we have the opportunity to look long term.Aragorn wrote:I'm inclined to side with Zuo Ci here. So far he's helped town quite a bit, so it's safe to assume he isn't leading us astray.
I'm not swayed to pick either side. I just want to see what people think about the idea, and I'll probably go along with the majority.

I put him there because I don't have any feel for him. And I kinda distrust that. I figured if we're talking about people we got no read on, I'd throw his name out and see if any of you had a feeling on him.
Also, the more I think about DF, there have been moments when he's done some type of analyzing, but all of it was pretty much incorrect, and (no offense buddy) but pretty obviously incorrect, even for someone who just entered the game when it was more than half-way over. So on the one hand, I felt like - oh good, he's trying to help! But on the other I felt like - um, yeah, no. Like it was an attempt to appear to be analyzing, when it really accomplished nothing. Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]
The people yet to vote are:
Quin
indiglo
nijuu
Aragorn
Simon
Boomslang
Matahari
leetic
leetic's ...not coming, if he did I'd be surprised.
nijuu is likely going to vote self-preservation if we go this Bass/nijuu route
So we still have the potential to get those two in the lead if that's what people want to do. I'm still fine voting leetic, which is a safe bet I think, but it will trigger the SK.

I'm sure you can figure that out.Scotty wrote:I think it's obvious who you are, but not if you've been recruited. How would we even know that?Quin wrote:naw, I think it's obvious at this point that I haven't been recruited.indiglo wrote:Ok, so here's where I'm at. I don't want to vote Bass simply because of his past prowess at dueling, no. I have Bass down as 1 of these 2 Indies: The SK or the dude that recruits.
Yuan Shao
Strategist
Military strategist and commander.
Each Night, Yuan Shao will attempt to recruit a warrior (anyone with BTSC cannot be recruited). He may recruit up to three warriors (one from each kingdom). *Secrets*
So, my theory was to wait and see who, if anyone seemed to stand up for Bass when I declared my stance on him (as him being 1 of these 2 roles). I figured if there was much of a ruckus kicked up, it would likely be from his recruited warriors, which would then identify Bass as the Yuan Shao Indy. So that's why I was formulating a theory that perhaps Zou Ci was some how roped in with the recruiting Indy, and perhaps Quin, after standing up for Bass so vociferously.
To be clear, I have no problem with Yuan Shao or his recruits, I was simply using that as a basis for my theory of identifying which of those 2 roles Bass has. Ya dig?
The Serial Killer is most definitely still alive, because s/he has not lost a duel, and CANNOT be NKed. So no, Leetic is NOT our final foe, spirit dude. The SK is still out there FOR SURE, though we can hope s/he is inactive at best.

I'm completely prepared to vote leetic, because I think there's a very high chance he's the last YT. The only issue is that his death will trigger the killings of the SK. A way around that is that we take advantage of his inactivity and try to find the SK first.
I think we have enough votes to put both Bass and nijuu up against eachother, and that's a compromise I'd accept.

I could vote right now, but that'd mean losing time we could otherwise spend discussing this, so I wont.
indiglo, still think Bass is a good vote? Is it because of his survival history alone?
linki: With Dong Zhuo, I see two ways they'd approach the game, obviously which one it is would depend on the person. They might not do either, but I think these are likely.
1) Dong Zhuo is an active civ. Unless they're incredibly meticulous they'll be likely be hunting for YT's much more than the nanman.
2) Dong Zhuo coasts because their role is useless for a pretty long time period.
Why does Bass fit my description more than nijuu? I don't know if I could accurately describe Bass's activity as 'coasting'.

Unless there really is a nanman left, whoever I vote that isn't leetic will be based on indie hunting. nijuu fits the description of an indie Dong Zhuo waiting for their role to activate better than Bass at this point, because she's the one who's coasting. Neither of them has appeared particularly gung-ho about lynching the YT's specifically which I would expect to see from someone eager to get that going.indiglo wrote:What if I told you that I am as certain in my assessment of Bass as I was in my assessment of Mac, and as I currently am in the assessment of leetic? More likely that they just didn't submit a kill tbh. I'm only guessing that the lack of a NK on Night 1 was intentional, MP and SD were both absent Day 3, and SD was absent on Day 5. It kind of reinforces how strongly I feel about leetic being the last YT, in a way.Bass_the_Clever wrote:Yeah I think they were most likely getting blocked.Quin wrote:An observation.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 14]
An observation.
The Yellow Turbans have killed Night 2, 4 and 6. It's very likely that they only had the power to kill once every 2 nights.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 14]
In saying that, Bass had some inactive spurts as well, but I'll need to look into timelines if I'm going to put his name up again.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 14]
Shouting 'I'm not bad, all of you are' is not a great way to spark discussion. Who is a better lynch than you are, right now? Why?MacDougall wrote:So nobody is gonna post until deadline approaches and they will just come in and throw a vote my way. Phooey.
As for the idea of putting Bass up again because he'll likely win his duel - I don't support it. I'd support it if we were putting him up with the conclusion that he's bad, but I'm hesitating on that front. I'd rather put up leetic because I do believe in the inactive YT/Dong Zhuo idea (this also half-applies to nijuu, she's posting but extremely sporadically so it doesn't really feel like she's attentive to the game)

I like this. Mac, say a thing!Zuo Ci wrote:I am called by nature to share my research.

To claim credit where there is no inspiration. This is not to be viewed with favor.MacDougall wrote:Oh look a guy who I voted for on day 1 got lynched and is bad and this time I didn't actually try making a case on him. New strategy.
Wassup Glorfindel with ignoring my comment? You scared there buddy?
The rodent spirit animal was slaughtered because his affiliation with the doctor was visible in nature. To resist his destruction for the reasons stated appears as a disconnect with the truth of the universe. I am inspired to pursue the destruction of he who spoke it. To make a mistake is to be human. This does not appear as a mistake. It appears as a conscious resistance to the destruction of the second Nanman on the second day.MacDougall wrote:I don't feel like Dom is bad, so sending him to fight the Marmot isn't jiving with me.
I don't think Marmot is a good candidate either. I don't like that the case has trace elements of Wilgy wifom in it. Wilgy is a savant of causing wifom to work the way he wants. I feel like he would be expecting Metalmarsh to get suspicion from that post. I also think Metalmarsh is playing the game way too casual considering his situation.
The only person with a vote who I am feeling neg about is Russtifinko. So I will be voting for Russ and trusting my feel on Dunny from Day 1.
Those who the Nanman have murdered are those who have threatened the Nanman. This is the way of MacDougall.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 13]
I'd like to pursue this inactive YT/SK route and vote for at least one inactive today. I think leetic and Bullzeye are the two in question in this case, so probably one of them.

Alright. What do you think about his content so far? Is he leading us astray? What do you think about the idea that Zuo Ci is just a sock taken over by whoever we voted for when we got the chance (Jay)?MacDougall wrote:A random entrant late in the game posting in roleplay mode and acquiring utterly no suspicion at all.Quin wrote:Tell me your thoughts about Zuo Ci, Mac.
