I cracked open some games in the last year I've played with him to double check my feelings (Witcher, Spiderverse, GoC). Mac is known for being abrasive, in yo face, etc as both alignments (where others poke he punches), but I've found there's a slightly different taste to it depending on his alignment. As town he will do his little shtick of quoting a post and being like 'this smells like poop' and then call them scum 20 times for the rest of the round. But he also evolves his reads. Like he gets a light ping by someone, and starts bopping their noses, but then if they get townier he stops and something else pings him and he finds a new punching bag. Along the way he still backreads and analyses and builds cases to confirm or challenge his own reads.

Conversely, scum!Mac mimics that. He remembers to be abrasive and punchy, but he gets caught in a fake worldview for longer and finds it harder to evolve his reads convincingly. He'll take a post that fake-pings him and stick to that read for a long time. He also often forgets to do any actual work to back up his takes. His posts tend to be much shorter and more to the point. If his thread position is secure as the game goes on this can change, and he can start manipulating events to his will, but early on and if people aren't convinced of him he just tries to double down and become more of a bulldozer. (This is exactly what he's doing to me now that I've sussed him.) (FYI he's also not adverse to throwing shade at a partner and even pushing others to vote them, so a one-off suss of Marmot earlier is not clearing in the slightest.)

I am in no way 100% convinced he's scum here (I never am with Mac) but his game so far fits my view of his scum game far more than his town game.

I agree with this account. There's no backbone to Mac's worldview when he's scum. He also never really lands anything. I'm going to reread Mac to see how I feel and also how he treated Marmot. I think his vote was on Marmot when he got shot, but don't remember how he got there.

Tbh several people have done that but it's not like I'd expect you to dig through game this size. The main thing that I've arrived at as a result of the Marmot flip is believing that there are 2 triumvirates that maybe contain a wolf in them. That being the people voting for Scotty (a confirmed town), and the people who were voting Paopan with the latter predicated on Paopan being town themselves. Creature has been handling me in good faith and hasn't really pinged me while you and Radishes have not only had shit reads on me you've had shit reads on me, you've also both been lacking in general. Mac, you called Scotty mafia yourself. Yes, it dropped off, don't know why, but you called him and Marmot mafia.

And in every D1 mafia has been chopped, there's been plenty of mafia on that wagon. It's the same shit always. Of course, this was different as it wasn't EoD yet, so none of the wagons was fully formed anyway. I actually think it would've been better if these particular wagons in question had had the chance to grow even further tbh. But that's whatever. Beyond that, it's not that a vote was placed somewhere, it's how. I didn't see you vote in thread when you voted, but I saw you were pretty early on Marmot. And I do think Marmot was vote worthy at the time, so I don't really have any problems with your vote.

My thought process on Marmot was that I wasn't very worried in any case. I thought he was town based on a misunderstanding (but it was probably for a dumb reason in the first place), but I retracted that read. My feelings before Marmot was shot was that it was quite likely he was scum actually, but still I'd rather give him room to post exactly because of that. And if he was town, that would probably shine through as well. The day was not done, so I was not very worried about Marmot. I think I can read him fairly well, and he's known for being a much stronger town player than mafia player afaic. I think it's pretty obvious that I did not have TMI on Marmot. It's way too easy to say "But you voted Scotty instead" and it's in bad faith when you also suspected Scotty.

Sloonei doesn't mention Marmot at all in his ISO. I would maybe expect him to if he had TMI on Marmot, but that is also dependent on how much of the game state he was aware of. And seems like he's mostly out of it. In any case, I don't think Sloonei is my favourite kill/chop this day. He looks legit busy.

Ok, but I voted Scotty because I wanted to have a wagon there. Marmot already had a lot of attention whereas Scotty did not when I voted. Yes, he turned out to be town, but that is hindsight. I think the more relevant question if you want to read me in particular is if I had tmi on Marmot.

Does anyone town read me? lol. It's like someone says a read on me, and then everyone has that read. It pretty much happens every game. If the game has enough of the right people in it, the read will be scum. It's very predictable. Not to be all boss bitch, but I haven't lost a game I was mafia in for years. And now everyone thinks they know how to read me and how I work. Oh yes, must be obvious scum. I mean, it's fine. This is the alleged slip that Urist pointed out, the accusation being that LP feigned ignorance about the soup kill. I don't really think going off of slips like this yields the best results, cause I've seen a lot of town miss stuff or assume stuff and it being seen as a slip. I think actual slips are very rare. However, LP is later claiming that they did read the OP, but that Nanook must have edited it. I don't know if this happened, but it seems a bit unlikely? Why not just say that you missed the part about the soup kill instead of "No, it changed"? Maybe this has more to do with LP's personality than anything. I could see LP trying to feign ignorance here, but I don't think that is a slam dunk thing at all.

But reading through LP's iso, I just end up with very mixed feelings. I've only played one game day with them before, but they were obvious town to me in that game. This game, I don't get the same feeling. At the same time, there's actually a lot of content and analysis to read. A lot of the analysis doesn't really make sense to me, but that was the same as last game. What I think may be different is that last game they eventually became very town leader-y and sorted people pretty aggressively and had much more impact overall. I wish I had a more firm take here, but I don't. If others have more experience with LP, please share.

Neeko thought that's what Marmot did and that seems to be the pattern in Marmot iso.
Pretty much identical so far to Team Fortress Mafia where Marmot was Town.

There's also this, which is the only thing LP has posted about Marmot. This being the only thing in their iso when there's a lot of content isn't great in itself.

And ther's been a lot of discussion around LP, and if they're mafia there might be a lot of anti-alignments to draw from it. I could see them being mafia here, so I'm not opposed to chopping them.

Would also like to know where LP is at with reads/sorting right now.

Creature's ISO. There's a bunch of stuff that I don't like in the start of the iso, particularly surrounding the Alexa/Nut dynamic. I also don't like the almost focus on derping, both around soup claim and saying he wouldn't get drafted. That said

These are the only interactions/mentions of Marmot. I don't find myself having much to say about it, other than it's not clearing.

I hate that I don't have more to say about this. I feel like LP/Creature is probably not w/w as they've had quite a bit of focus on each other and interaction as far as I've seen. Also, might seem contradictory, but I feel like if Creature is mafia, Poapon might be as well. They have some pretty weird interaction, like how Creature says they don't know Poapan like they wouldn't care about them, and then goes on caring about them a lot. Saying they are fine chopping them, but they are probably town, is something I could see Creature do as mafia as a oh so weird wifom play.

I don't know Creature very well play wise. Overall a lot of meh, possible weird stuff, but with a few posts also that sounded more genuine.

Going over ISOs only to get more unclear about people. I love that for me.

Ender calls out Marmot and eventually votes there, but I don't find that clearing. He was not the first one to call out Marmot. Two things that's been on my mind:

Creature and TSP had this thing about drafting, where they simultaneously seemed to think that mafia had picked roles, but also wanted to draft teams. It struck me as a weird thing to care about at the time. And if mafia really did pick teams, and as others also have mentioned, Marmot's role doesn't seem like the strongest. This seems like one of these things that strikes me as important that nobody else will care about. I'm just thinking that mafia knows how the team was formed, and this might be visible in the conversations around that, which sounds really vague lol. But I found that whole conversation around when Creature and TSP brought it up to be kind of weird and pointless and it has stuck with me.

Second thing, and that is Ilario has twice done this thing where he places town as having a better position than scum. Once he said that 7 mafia seemed like not a lot in such a large game. Later he said town would probably win this game easily. This is a typical red flag for me, because it's unusual for town to think they're getting the "better end of the deal". There's a lot of reasons why this is the case, and I've seen it many times before, BUT it's a tell that has failed me a couple of times as well. But it bothered me enough that I wanted to say something and just leave it there. SHADE

I'm not actually asking to be shot. It's a bad shot, the same way I'm a bad chop. I have literally never been chopped D1 as mafia ever. I have been chopped a few times D1 as town though, especially lately. People can't read me for shit, someone says I'm mafia, and then everyone says it.
