Does anyone town read me? lol. It's like someone says a read on me, and then everyone has that read. It pretty much happens every game. If the game has enough of the right people in it, the read will be scum. It's very predictable. Not to be all boss bitch, but I haven't lost a game I was mafia in for years. And now everyone thinks they know how to read me and how I work. Oh yes, must be obvious scum. I mean, it's fine. But if I'm right about my strongest town reads and they scum read me back, maybe remember that for next game this time? Thanks for coming to my self pity ted talk.

Ok, but I voted Scotty because I wanted to have a wagon there. Marmot already had a lot of attention whereas Scotty did not when I voted. Yes, he turned out to be town, but that is hindsight. I think the more relevant question if you want to read me in particular is if I had tmi on Marmot.

Sloonei doesn't mention Marmot at all in his ISO. I would maybe expect him to if he had TMI on Marmot, but that is also dependent on how much of the game state he was aware of. And seems like he's mostly out of it. In any case, I don't think Sloonei is my favourite kill/chop this day. He looks legit busy.

Mac, you called Scotty mafia yourself. Yes, it dropped off, don't know why, but you called him and Marmot mafia.

And in every D1 mafia has been chopped, there's been plenty of mafia on that wagon. It's the same shit always. Of course, this was different as it wasn't EoD yet, so none of the wagons was fully formed anyway. I actually think it would've been better if these particular wagons in question had had the chance to grow even further tbh. But that's whatever. Beyond that, it's not that a vote was placed somewhere, it's how. I didn't see you vote in thread when you voted, but I saw you were pretty early on Marmot. And I do think Marmot was vote worthy at the time, so I don't really have any problems with your vote.

My thought process on Marmot was that I wasn't very worried in any case. I thought he was town based on a misunderstanding (but it was probably for a dumb reason in the first place), but I retracted that read. My feelings before Marmot was shot was that it was quite likely he was scum actually, but still I'd rather give him room to post exactly because of that. And if he was town, that would probably shine through as well. The day was not done, so I was not very worried about Marmot. I think I can read him fairly well, and he's known for being a much stronger town player than mafia player afaic. I think it's pretty obvious that I did not have TMI on Marmot. It's way too easy to say "But you voted Scotty instead" and it's in bad faith when you also suspected Scotty.

I cracked open some games in the last year I've played with him to double check my feelings (Witcher, Spiderverse, GoC). Mac is known for being abrasive, in yo face, etc as both alignments (where others poke he punches), but I've found there's a slightly different taste to it depending on his alignment. As town he will do his little shtick of quoting a post and being like 'this smells like poop' and then call them scum 20 times for the rest of the round. But he also evolves his reads. He'll take a post that fake-pings him and stick to that read for a long time. He also often forgets to do any actual work to back up his takes. His posts tend to be much shorter and more to the point. If his thread position is secure as the game goes on this can change, and he can start manipulating events to his will, but early on and if people aren't convinced of him he just tries to double down and become more of a bulldozer. (This is exactly what he's doing to me now that I've sussed him.) (FYI he's also not adverse to throwing shade at a partner and even pushing others to vote them, so a one-off suss of Marmot earlier is not clearing in the slightest.)

I agree with this account. There's no backbone to Mac's worldview when he's scum. He also never really lands anything. I'm going to reread Mac to see how I feel and also how he treated Marmot. I think his vote was on Marmot when he got shot, but don't remember how he got there.

Anyway, I'm going to start to look at Marmot connections, cause I don't think anyone did that yet

I'm sorry, but it doesn't feel like you care. Your earlier read of Guillo for having "flower language" in his enterance post was bad IMO, and then these reads are bad. I'd guess most of them are TRUE, but they feel performative and they feel similar to reads you've made in other games recently, as if you're trying to fake that townie spark your TF read on me had (but failing to).

That game was a mess, is my point. It was full of vigilantes (figuratively speaking, not literal like now lol). So I felt more responsible and stressed, cause it was honestly a shit show for the one day I was alive.

You're totally right that I don't care as much now in the sense that I think this game is honestly fine enough without me. The miscalculation you're doing is concluding I'm scum because of it. Or because of anything.

Sean cares about his own thoughts and suspicions and follows them up, and he's also doing classic town!Sean things in response to people either town reading him and accusing him.
Guillo has had many posts I found towny from him. Both Sean and Guillo are showing their paranoid town play styles imo. I think I'm pretty good at reading both of them actually.
Alexa is town for how she went about her role check on Nut. I also think that she wouldn't have a role check as mafia when that is how mafia makes the soup kill tbh, but that is kind of besides the point. Her posts are kind of "messy" in a way I find they are as town, while they are more deliberate as scum. I've also been pretty good at reading Alexa.

There's a bunch of players I town read to a lighter degree or even a pretty solid degree, probably too many, but the aforementioned are the ones I feel I have a better handle on reading.

In any case, I feel the game is in a pretty ok spot consensus-wise.

I have some concerns about Mac. Feels like he's not really landing any of his thoughts, and they seem to be a bit all over the place, which I find scummy for him.
I'm also suspicious of Scotty, feel like his posts are just awkward, trying to chime in but not really going anywhere.
Sabie is meh.

I think these are the things I've been thinking about the most.

I think quips are just Radish. I have my own thing that I look for in Radish (which I think he thinks is silly, cause it's based on literally one game I saw him as scum), and he's neither here nor there on that measure. I'm hoping he'll share more of his inside thoughts as we go. I actually do think he has inside thoughts though, so maybe I think he's town.

I think it's fair to pressure Marmot. And I think he'd be a less than ideal chop if he is town here. And I think that that will be solvable in time. I'm not going to give you whatever hard commitment you want here. I want my reads to be decent, and I want to work together with other town. At the same time, I don't care all that much who gets chopped today, at least right now.

Well, I did use to work as a comedian. Which I don't recommend to anyone.

I haven't seen them be topics much, and I haven't seen them be towny, so there would be a good chance there's scum there.
As for more "interesting flips" I'd say Marmot/Ender.
Also, the question is kind of meh in the first place. It's not even half way into D1 and a lot might change still.
