I mean, I do have different feels of you two. Also, don't care to apologise for Nanook. But I'm so over him pissing people off with his play and then throwing away a lot of energy on that. It happens a lot. I think Nanook enjoys it and does zero effort to extend a hand, but I can't do anything about that.Long Con wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 9:26 amAnd you could replace Nanook's name with mine in your post and it would be equally, if not more, true. And yet you have a lazy whatever vote on me, and you're Nanook's top apologist in every other post you make. Super fine.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 4:02 am @DkKoba Your frustration with Nanook is understandable, and something I've seen a lot. But I think leaning into that frustration is a distraction for the game and for you. I don't think it helps solving. Nanook has a history of making players feel exactly this way about his play. If it help, keep this in mind, that Nanook is experienced, but he plays for fun/to chill, and he has actually given some thoughts (although maybe few and not well explained.) If it still pisses you off, I suggest you'd just ignore it. Several people in this game have a history with reading Nanook pretty well. If he doesn't show up for town, he'll get chopped eventually. I get the impatience, but it's not getting us anywhere.
I blame auto correct!Gavial wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 9:13 amI’m not.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 4:18 am @Gavial Why on earth are you sleeping Alison on yourself?
I’m sheeping Alison on myself.
And saying it how you did is quite a naughty way to think eh?![]()
That is not a clear at all in my eyes. You said "scum would not do that", to which both me and Marmot said we would definitely do that as scum. And I don't see why LC wouldn't at all.
Can you say why please?NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 7:53 amI'm deeply reluctant to ever give seth (gavial is seth btw) a true townread
This reasoning doesn't hold up for me at all. And I am considering voting LC. He's not a town read in a sea of town or mild town reads.DkKoba wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:42 am i guess this is where i reveal why i townread longcon, and the simple reason is, they intiated a vote on me, and thats usually town indicative to me. i guess its not really a good reason but also i think their intentions were towny. they were a very easy mislim in my last game with them.
Do you have meta here, and can you elaborate on them if you do?staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 2:07 amgth? town. i don't really know yet, though. it's too early
As is Dkk's.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:57 am i think that nanook's reaction is a little villagery
You know you tilt someone pretty much every game you play lol. That responsibility is fully shared by you. And then someone ends up having to mediate that.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:55 am Anyways I gave reads idk what you're complaining about, does it tilt you that much that I'm also having fun
I think I've actually read him correctly every time we've played together (counting from when I got to know him more). Only one scum game though, in which he was always in my PoE, and in other games when he was town, he has eventually become a town read. I'm also pretty neutral on him now though, but not really that worried.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:52 amwell, nanook playing a coasty game doesnt mean that he doesn't have specific alignment tells - i pegged him as maf in a recent mash game even though he was one of the lowest posters in the thread. i am neutral about his alignment so far but i don't think he's an impossible read
it might be easier to read him accurately if his activity was higher, but that's true for a lot of people
Yes, and he frequently pisses people off with his play style. It's pretty tiring. Trick is to see beyond all the discussions about how he's not playing the game the way everyone wants him to, and look at his actual content.
This is a good thought, especially the very last part.
Ok, thanks.fingersplints wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 3:32 amI think Seth is GavialDyslexicon wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 3:30 amWho's Seth?NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:49 pm Also seth just town slipped pretty sure, fyi
You're missing stuff here, I think. And Marmot is Seth? I did not know.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:54 pmFwiw this is the first I've seen seth say that
Who's Seth?NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:49 pm Also seth just town slipped pretty sure, fyi
What's sad about this is that I don't get to play with you. And I like to play with you and I value your opinions.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:46 pmI was pretty explicit I'm not taking this game seriously until d3 or d4 at the earliest, you're free to ignore me until that time!
Alright. I don't think it's the best reasoning myself tbh. But I also feel that it's not a good write up of Invictus's actual read on me, but that's just me filling out blanks which I tend to do (maybe too much). What I'm trying to say is that I don't think it's weird for Invictus to town read me here if he's town. And I do hate playing as mafia, but I always try hard.hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:40 pmcause it's weaksauce and easy to make and incredibly hard to determine if it's faked or not. While there are some people (yours truly) who would appear "drained" after a string of wolf rands I don't think that's universal enough to say "player x has vim and vigor and therefore is town"
10 =phollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:35 pmhow many town reads is too many?Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:18 pm I was very ready for Marmot to be scum, but he seems very relaxed, and that's a vibe that I associate with town!Marmot.
I'm starting to have perhaps too many town reads or reasons to think people town. I'll try sort out who gives the strongest vibes.
Alright.hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:33 pmyeah, it's a soft sus, but I'd still like to understand the thought process between those back to back posts
I'm fine with you all up in my hair, it's comfySpoiler: show
I don't plan lines. I do and want different things at the same time. I'll always get dragged into honest and wordy more than not. And honest thoughts is I don't know how to read Alison, and I'm probably generally prone to just be uncomfortable with her alignment wise. So I have sparks and thoughts and maybes and wants to randomly push, and then I have longer considerations, at the same time, and that is what you're seeing. I'm pretty sure this is not unique though. And in this case I never had a real thought of being convinced of Alison as scum. Just a possibility/worry.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:43 pmthe first quote has a level of spiciness that is utterly let down by the second quote. why assertively call alison scum and then back off from that read before alison (or anyone, for that matter) had the opportunity to react?
Acceptable.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:41 pmhere's my solve: i'm gay!Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 1:52 pm And now for @staypositivefriend to solve the game. Please and thank you.
Yes, I do that a lot. Especially D1. I also often have a hard time getting hard scum reads for wanting to give people the benefit of the doubt x10. Also especially on D1.hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:03 pmnah, you said I was shrug, so I was asking if you vote your shrugs often
I'm living for the drama. But I honestly think you are both town. /however many centsfingersplints wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:01 pmthen sufferDkKoba wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:59 pmi dont need to prove anythign to you except with my unique dayplay that will deliver 3 scum into the path of a silver bulletfingersplints wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:58 pmYea, don’t really see how I’m “suffering”
It’s kind of on you at this point to prove your town in this game, not expect others to read several games on other sites. I’m not going to waste my time with that.
[VOTE: DkKoba] aubergine
That's kind of what I asked myself with you. For how worried you got about a lingering two vote wagon on me, that I might not get out of. Why would it be a bad thing, what if I was scum? Anyway... I don't knooowhollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:52 pmI think it's weird that two people voted a zero poster and you seem fine with that. Do you have TMI that dizzy is town?
Why?hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:51 pmI super hate this readInvictius wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 12:41 pm fwiw i also think dizzy is town and it's mostly based on energy and early involvement. if what he's saying about not playing for a bit is honest then that means his most recent game was on mafiacafe was when he was scum and prior to that game he was also scum a few times all in close proximity to one another and id assume another scum/wolf rand would have him coming out with low energy again(as he did in that last mafiacafe game) as he probably wouldn't be up for it.
I really don't see the issue at all. It's RVS, practically meaningless. What I'd say is it's probably marginally more productive to RVS someone who's around.hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:50 pmit always bothers me when there's a wagon, even if only 2, on someone who hasn't posted yet. One vote is fine, people do that all the time. A second vote is weird and I don't understand it. I mean if they're flirting there's better ways, this is like that jerk boy pulling pigtails because he's a jerk
I really felt the energy was just town. Particularly the "If scum think they're going to get me, they got another thing coming!" kind of sentiment.fingersplints wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:38 pm DkKoba really reminds me so much of this player from back in the day. Which if this play is similar it really doesn’t mean much. Could be town, but could just as easily be mafia. I’m still hoping someone will come in and say what they usually play like (Who isn’t DkK them self) because as of now it’s still really not sitting great with me. it just seems a bit early for this kind of aggressive play. They created much more suspicion than they had on themselves with this response.
Yes. Except when people think it's particularly funny when they are in fact scum. Like you (and me sometimes)
What on earth?Gavial wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:17 pmJust like you said in your above post, Dizzy is an out of this world wolf so you could also be falling for their trap.
Importantly together we should rebel against Dizzy!
I mean I kinda had a similar vibe that HK had but SoD reads usually don’t mean much but SoD mind melts on the other hand or Angling, that’s something that is AI.
Very fair.Marmot wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:04 pmDyslexicon wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:02 pmAlso, I'm quite pretty. It's unfair, really. But are you going to try to read me this game for real for real? Now is the time to start \o/
I've already locktown'd you, but I'm willing to reconsider.![]()
I mean, his sus on me/spf was very "there might be a wolf here", certainly didn't read like a strong suspicion to me and not founded on anything. I get the surface level of what you're saying, but I just don't see it in this instance.hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:01 pmI thought the back to back juxtaposition of those two posts was interesting and wanted to hear what Gavial had to say about it.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:56 pmSerious question: Can you not agree with someone's town read on someone, but still think the person giving the read could be scum? Imo that happens like all the time?hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 2:36 pmHow do you go from agreeing with SPF to saying there might be a wolf between Dizzy and SPF?
Sure, it's possible that's whats happening, but generally if I'm sus on someone and they're giving off reads I tend to question those a bit instead of just agreeing with them, especially if with my next post I say there might be a wolf in a group that contains the person I just agreed with.
I'd want to explore more why/how that person got to where they did
I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking if I shrug off votes often, then it's a no normally (depending) and a yes when it's RVS votes when I haven't even posted or other votes that are obviously not serious.
Referring to that whole line of responses btw
Serious question: Can you not agree with someone's town read on someone, but still think the person giving the read could be scum? Imo that happens like all the time?hollowkatt wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 2:36 pmHow do you go from agreeing with SPF to saying there might be a wolf between Dizzy and SPF?
