Master Radishes wrote: Wed Nov 24, 2021 2:01 am Mac's story doesn't feel like a lie? When mafia lie about mechanics they tend to either keep it simple ('I'm a cop') or overly complex ('I'm a cop on Nights that fall within the fibonacci sequence but I only get a result if its a 3P who has activated their ability and I get a double cop on N1'). Mac's story is specific in a different way ('after 26 hours I got fed up and used it') that is unlikely to be fabricated.

Or it is just a clever lie I guess, which is also a possibility because uh we're starting to reach peak 'confirmed town' in a game that's supposedly not bastard, so I can only imagine the power Mafia have here.

This is MR's response to Mac/falcon's claim. He immediately followed it up with a vote for Anne.

This is a lazy read for someone who has been putting forth some effort. 42 posts thus far. The timing of it with Mac's claim, the lack of reasoning behind it (even up to this point), and given that he's interacted with several other players since, I'm surprised his vote is still here.
Yeah, this is one I can go with. [VOTE: Master Radishes] aubergine He feels way to comfortable with the thread state. His contributions are also way too minmal compared to his activity.

Well, you're not doing particularly well at surviving right now. I want your thoughts on each player in the game, which will be useful now matter how you flip.

I mean, you're sticking your head in the sand, ignoring all of the town reads coming my way from people around you just so that you can develop a read in your own way of reading the game. The issue with that is, typically people who read the game the way you seem to have a disproportionate tendency to scum read me.

[VOTE: JaggedJimmyJay] aubergine

Come on. I don't see a JJJ who says a lot of activity is a bad thing.

Didn't MR also have a wagon briefly?
Yeah, it got to five. I'd still be willing to vote them out.

[VOTE: Master Radishes] aubergine Yeah that isn't happening.

All this "x could be scum, but could also be town" and "I don't want to vote for anyone, they're all so towny" doesn't help town at all and makes it easy for wolves to hide.

I have 1 post left, which I'll reserve in case of something that I or my partner really need to say. See you at EoD.
Can you pinpoint why hedging is mafia indicative or do you just not like it? You may view it as counterproductive and not efficient protown behavior but that doesn't make it not town behavior. I will die on the hill that hedging is more villagery than not on average
Hedging is scummy because scum are far more concerned about staying consistent. They don't want too much scum reads off the bat because they don't want to make too many enemies or be blamed when their vote goes wrong but don't want many townreads either because they might have to vote them out later. I can link you to times when I caught a wolf based on excessive hedginess or when I was hedgy as a wolf myself. Of course, it can also be indicative of inexperienced villagers, but I'd like to think that the player quality here is too good for that
see your first sentence sounds like a contradiction to me

but i don't have the energy to argue about this, we simply have completely opposite views
Why did you say that voting "sleep" is the best option?
Memes
It still falls into a pattern of general hedginess of your slot though. Can you list all the reads you currently feel confident in?

basically that her self professed discomfort and inability to get into the game is actually possibly the scum version and she isn't holistically that towny

what're your independent thoughts on her aorn?
The fact that I don't feel much about her posts is probably a bad sign and she is definitely a suspect if we end up voting town today as she seems like someone pretty comfortble with thread state last she arrived, but I feel more comfortable on Wilgy/MR/Axehole. My partner did have a townread on her last I checked so maybe you should talk to him.
You realize the entire case on me is that I'm causing town to lose, on a site that is constantly losing as town whether or not I'm a part of it. Like, the read is almost unreasonable to have at this point unless you're Mickey Mouse himself, or upset that you haven't won in a while.
You haven't done anything to make me think you're town, your behavior is NAI at best and when there's so many people who have more reason to be townread you stand out
Right, so you know ilario's alignment, and ilario thinks that I'm town. Yet there are so many people who have more reason to be town read than me? I think maybe you should check with Ilario what he sees, or at least try to make sense of why you have so many town reads. It seems unreasonable to sit on D1 with a bunch of town reads without re-evaluating the thought process behind that (although I know the feeling).
This is about you, not ilario. Why should I believe you are town?

why
I feel like they have wonky progressions on many of their reads, then seem content to park a vote & scram.
I disagree with the idea of them having a scumread and not voting for them. We're all allowed to have more than one scumread.
Of course, I'd never say otherwise.

How do you feel about their thread absence since, and the manner in which they're content to park their vote on Mac, when previously they'd moved their vote around a fair bit?

They had reads that weren't fully...developed let's say? Subject to change at the very least. Yet now, based off their perception of Mac being "sub-optimal", are fine with locking down?
Were you paying attention? We shared a post restriction so we had to use our posts conservatively, we couldn't just spam the thread. Of course now that is no longer an issue. We have problems with some of Mac's reads and my partner is a bit suspicious of his actions but we agree that his claim means there is at least a significant chance he is town (I think it's most likely the case). Of course I can change my reads in light of new information

You do realize that our restriction is twice as strict as yours and that's why we couldn't talk too much in thread? Of course, now that the restriction is over I'm going in guns blazing

Also explain "wonky reads"
