I would prefer to lynch Bubbles, tbh.I think her vote was informed, regardless of her past history.

And I cannot say re Typh; I don't think he would play civ or Inmate differently, tbh.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 8]

I have said repeatedly that I don't think he's bad. Indy maybe, but not bad.

And I am not after you, but repeatedly saying someone is lying in a Mafia game like that has any meaning whatsoever is pointless. We get it; you think TH is lying about his experience with the Riddler. But speaking about it like it is a *fact* that ALL of us can agree is a fact is somewhat hyperbole to me.

Telling people to shut the fuck up is inexcusable. And saying things so terrible that I thought I drove Mac off is also inexcusable. Do you have any opinion of Bubbles vote, and how it does or does not reflect on Glorfindel? Her timing was amazing, his wide eyed, "Why would you lynch Bubbles" has me worried she actually IS civ, especially with Goldens promise to lynch Glorfindel if she flips bad.

I don't think you're bad and now that you are apparently cured you're more likely to help out/participate. I'd rather vote a low poster than you at this point. Bubbles has been lurking in the thread since I've been around today but not posting.
Sure if you want to put a vote on someone who's not getting lynched go right ahead. :eye:
Perhaps not my friend but given the choice of voting for players that I believe to be Mafia and those that I know aren't (my assumption on MP that I'd stated previously) I'll go for players that I think are Mafia EVERY time.
That's all well and good but sorsha has given no indication that she thinks bubbles is mafia so what's your point?

Chrysanthemums tawdrier maid nag. :disappoint:
This is the first remark you've made this Day phase my friend with which I concur...
To clarify, not necessarily THOSE low posters...
I'm REALLY not entirely comfortable with what I see here, Golden. There seems to be a focus in this game not so much on the low posters as it is on the newbies. To illustrate my point, take a look at the TS career posts of the players you named; Equivocate (5), ekeknat (78), Bubbles (195), Floyd (291) the only exception being Bass with a more impressive total of 1732 (despite the fact that I don't think they have posted since very early in the game). Look at the primary candidate for lynching last Day phase - it was me (again, <200 TS career posts) until MP's vote took off. And now there are people looking at Sprityo and while I haven't looked, I'll wager he's in the same boat.

While I agree that having 'non-active' players in the game is a bad thing (and I agree if they could be subbed that would be awesome) I don't see a lot of value in pursuing them at this point other than as you say, to simply thin the herd. I feel it would be more prudent to pursue those players that are somewhat more active and whose elimination is based on some perceived evidence/logic and whose departure may give us something to work with.
And this.

*Glorfindel*
My role is not the issue here my friend (as you will see for yourself at some point). The issue is purely the distorted lens through which you and others have and are judging my comments throughout this game. I doubt a single one of you (with the exception of Golden and maybe Juliets) has even attempted to stand back and consider the possibility that I am genuine. I'd like to think that (in that respect) there would be a perceptible similarity between my performance and my Pikmin game. Thank you for saying those nice things about me and I'm sorry but the fact that you can see that and believe that I am bad in spite of that says more about how you see things than it does about me. I've explained ad nauseum to you that the post to which you refer was 'crafted' the way it was out of respect for my fellow players. I could see grounds for your suspicions had you been able to identify some inconsistency with my subsequent posts but you haven't and I doubt you can. It's much the same thing that we've just witnessed with Matt and Golden and that ridiculous Two-Face accusation that has been leveled at me. The fact that Matt interpreted that 'data' he collected in the way he did, in an unbalanced way illustrates well the struggle that I'm having with this game right now in that his first assumption was that I was bad and he interpreted my posts in that way.
Well, you obviously convinced Bubbles, too :)

Glorfindel wrote:OK, thanks for the consideration of allowing me to address my technical issues. I'm afraid Dom that I could not reply to you earlier. My keyboard gave up the ghost and would only work intermittently and it took ages to type anything. I was at work on a break when I sent that last message and as much as I'd have wanted to reply to you, it simply wasn't going to happen - I appreciate your patience.

Basically, I agree with what's been said already - the well of newer players being Mafia has dried up. On the law of averages, you'd have to assume that there are one or two more experienced players involved as part of the Mafia families.

On that note, some time ago I was playing a Mafia game where (as Town) I'd concocted this theory on the guilt of one of my fellow players based on their use of certain punctuation in their posts. I was absolutely convinced of their guilt and put my case to the rest of the players in that game. Needless to say I got laughed out of town and rightly so, I was completely wrong. Now please don't misunderstand me here - I fully respect the ability of each and everyone of you, my fellow players and in particular S-V-S. I know we had that run-in early on over my post that you thought was too carefully worded. I think that case was pretty thin (more so than the one I described above) and what's more, it was wrong.

I found your argument with Golden interesting and for better or worse, I think his judgement is pretty good from all accounts (after all, you don't win all those Socky's for nothing). And then, in the dying shadows of dawn, you started accusing me again. You said that you would vote for me because I am not direct in answering questions - and that may be true. I do the best I can to contribute fully and respect each and everyone of you in the face (sometimes) of some considerable provocation. You would do well not to misjudge me for that.

In terms of my vote right now, I think it will be S-V-S. I have an open mind and if someone comes up with a better case before tomorrow morning, I'll happily consider it.
[/quote]

Thank you.

OK, so you suspected me because of the early suspicion I had of you.

You are misconstruing what I said. I said that I suspected you for how carefully you answered someone elses wuestion, writing a big long post to say you trusted Zebra, and then you had to be poked before you would list a suspicion, and you worded it ever so carefully~ it was Matt, the person who suspected Zebra. I suspected you for, not only how carefully you answered, but WHAT you answered. You keep implying it was becasue it was too careful, and I keep correcting you. Same thing as the more recent thoughts on you; you keep saying it is BECAUSE of the comparison with Star Wars, but it is actually becasue of your content. You keep couching it in the terms of Star Wars, not the rest of us.

For me, misconstruing the cases against you are a very big bad tell and it has nothing to do with Meta.

Did anything ever come of your suspicion of Matt, btw? Have you moved past that?

And you also suspect me for suspecting you of being selective & evasive, yes? Well, that still holds true. I would hope you had some suspicions that were not self referential. All of the reasons you had for suspecting me have to do with me suspecting YOU.

And I did see this post, from what you said, I thought there was another one, this one reads like a summary. So sorry for badgering you.

Golden keeps saying, "I don't know why SVS thinks I am gonna vote for her". Well, I was his main topic of discussion, every post where he mentioned me he mentioned some form of "bad", for starters. And Glorfindel (writing "Glor or Glorf" seems disrespectful to the High Elven, lol) clearly stated he was going to vote for me. I asked 3 tumes for his reasons, finally he said, search my posts. And I did and I could not find it, and asked him to link me to it two or three times, and he ignored me,even though he replied to posts both before & after mine.
Glorfindel, you did say you would vote for SVS and she did ask for your reasons. Why, especially after she couldn't find anything in your posts, did you ignore her request for a link?
Hey, Juliets :). Basically for two reasons:

1. I didn't understand what she meant. If she wanted me to copy my post (please refer point 2). If she was expecting something else, I don't know what she expected or how to perform that operation on this site.

2. Given that my post was within a single page of her post, I considered her request vexatious,

I'm happy to cooperate with anyone who shares my desire to have this game turn out right but I'm harbouring grave doubts that S-V-S truly does. I note my question to MP remains unaddressed, I know he probably hasn't been around all that much but out of courtesy, I expect a reply when he does.
I DID look for it, I couldn't find it. I just looked for it again. I can't find it.

This. Initially I was getting not the best vibes from TH, but that cleared up. I think he is very much playing for the civs here. He has been working hard to try to keep us on track and avoid all the tangential stuff he & I saw fragment the civs in GoC.

You still like Turnips? I've never seen such a bad and/or indy player shove in my face how bad and/or indy they are, yet nobody wants to get behind a Turnips lynch. Does everyone still think he's Alfred or something?

Going back to another "confirmed civ", why isn't Mac dead? Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense for him to still be breathing. Derp.
Why do you think TH is bad and who thinks he is Alfred? The case was that he wasn't Alfred.
Despite dropping many hints in that direction over the last few days, there have been a distinct lack of TH or SVS (or anyone else) rejecting my assertion that SVS could be Batman.
I am not, but why would you want me or anyone else to out my role if I was??

I'm told that I'm not suspicious because I'm not 'hunting' Mafia? Can you not see the blatant hypocrisy of what you're saying? I presented a strong case against MM and apart from two players who at least considered my case, it was completely ignored. I'm being condemned for voting for Sprityo when any number of players voted for him but they're not suspicious. Take for example, Typhoony. The guy has numerous posts and nearly every single one of them devoid of substance. His votes are unsubstantiated. Where is there any questioning of him? Where is the interrogation of the type to which I've been subjected? And you still want me to buy that you two are impartial? I think not.
Your case was not ignored. It was irrelevant because the guy is dead. I don't condemn you for voting sprit. The core of my suspicion has nothing to do with Star Wars-- please read my posts.

Show me that you're town. Stop claiming I'm not impartial and refuting claims that I didn't make and go lynch a baddie-- something you've been hesitant to do all game.
I brought forward my case on MM a day and a bit before he was NK'd and it was ignored. There were probably more players campaigning for my lynching than there was for his. I'm trying very hard to lynch 'baddies' but it's a little difficult when I'm constantly having to defend myself from the false and mischievous allegations that have been constantly directed at me.

In any case, should Typhoony remain with us after the end of this Night phase, I think based on his performance so far this game, he is someone we need to look at very closely.
Typhoony does not write long elaborate posts, true. But he says what has to be said. I have no intention od voting for Typhoony anytime soon. You do what I used to do when I was bad, write long paragraphs of text that don't actually say anything. While I can never hope to be as succinct as he, I have learned alot about getting to the point from him.
Turnip Head wrote:What are you trying to say Golden? That I didn't do enough? After I basically gave myself an ulcer defending SVS the other day, and you replied with "I can't understand why TH is defending her so strongly?"

I made the points in sprityo's defense that he wasn't making himself. I tried to get people off of him and onto other suspects. It's weird that you're acting like I should have done more when YOU'RE the one who wouldn't consider the points I was making.
And I appreciate it when I would not even defend myself that day. I really had just thrown my hands up and said, "Fine, I'll show them" that day, and I appreciate you putting in the effort for me. Yesterday was different. Yesterday the self vote was more of a pressure vote. I wanted to see who would put their money where their mouth was.

So basically I dared the people who suspected me to vote for me. And DH did it becasue DH actually in his heart thinks I am bad. And I can respect that. He is wrong, but he has the courage of his convictions. He made his case, he thought I did not answer him adequately, I said alot of "C'mon lynch me you'll be sorry", and he said fuck that. And he voted for me. Good for him.

Golden & Glorfindel didn't becasue they don't really believe it, imo. They are bad.

This is my point; I am being used as a distraction to draw attention away from the real baddies. And I can think of nothing more tedious that having to defend myself against the same tepid *meh* accusations.

I would like to lynch Spityo or Glorfindel or even Golden. But every time people start diuscussion about others, I come back up. So if you want to lynch a real baddie,do it. But if you choose to lynch me, you will be able to move past it and get the game back on track. Either way, yay civs.
And maybe that is my point too my friend - you see me as bad when I simply am not. I have no idea how I can convince you otherwise - convince you of the truth. The fact that you have self-voted concerns me greatly too.. As I've made reference previously, I think self-voting as Town is irresponsible unless there is some 'greater good' that that may be achieved as a result and I take your point about feeling like a distraction. I may be making a heinous mistake here but I'm not voting for you today. I'd like to look again at your performance this game from more of a holistic perspective - I just want to be certain about that decision (well, more certain).
Lots of empty words backed with no town-minded effort to find mafia.
Thank you MP for that utterly irrelevant assessment of my post. I'd respectfully suggest to you that your limited time and energy would have been better spent addressing the questions that I put to you last night. I think that would be a far more constructive use of your time in assisting our cause.
Why is it irrelevant?

I feel that I am a distraction. Every time it looks like we are going to move on, one of the same few people brings me backup again. If I am gone it will force them to move past that. Why else do you think that every time I make a fuss, they back off?

And I am annoyed that people I think are civ, who should know better, can't get over their predisposition to think I am bad.
