I feel better about Scotty than I do about Sabi. I’ll drop a vote on them. When they made that post, about Sean sounding “off”, then asking Sean if he was ok, that was weird.

No one has been able to satisfactorily explain the Sean suspish to me without referring me back to my back/forth with Sean. And I don’t think that made him bad.

But I think if you read the first, say, one and a half pages of today, there’s a ‘let’s carefully examine the wilgy train’ vibe and if there are no wolves in there trying to control the conversation in that direction I’ll be surprised. That’s my gut feel.
It feels to me like there’s a whole lot of steering going on.

Re: Lawyers, Guns and Money- [DAY 2]

@Matahari no, quite the opposite. I knew typing might have been an issue for you if you had surgery, so I knew more in depth posts might be a problem.

Your surface posts would have given me concern if that were not the case. But from what you say, you’re one handed, so I get it.

I have a high, albeit specific, bar for you. No one has an eye for detail like you do. I would think it’s hard to maintain that level of scrutiny as a baddie in a game with one baddie team.

Re: Lawyers, Guns and Money- [DAY 2]

OK, imma start this, but may have to post it incomplete to go get ready for work. But no rainbow lists for me, look where it got Marmot. Maybe.

bea She didn't know the game had started, she started a job last week. I think she'd make more effort if bad, especially if one of the nubs was on the bad team; see breakout re OG's
Dennis Dennis is asking the right questions, at first I thought he was maybe being coached, but I don't anymore. Leaning more town than not
falcon45ca Gonna be honest, only have a passing 'no reason to think they're bad', I have to read falcon and get a more solid read. Loved his CLR joke.
fingersplints No clue, could be bad, could be not bad. I'd like to see her post more, or at all. See breakout re OG's
Golden He looks completely different to me to Game 1 (sorry Sabi). He feels like civ Golden to me, but I need to see more analysis from him to know for sure. I want to reread Marmot to see why he read Golden as bad.
jack shepherd Unlike most people, I thought as a twin, if he was bad, he might be more likely to not want to expose himself much with his brother here. The more civ Dennis looked to me, the less Jack did. Or he could just be disinterested. This game isn't everyones cup of tea.
Kate At first I wasn't really sure; she seemed to think some things contrary to what I'd expect, and seemed fluffier than normal. But that was likly proud Mama, and now I'm seeing more of her civ game.
lucy I have to reread here. I feel like I need to be a tad tiptoey since I have obvs come across as aggro to her. I thought she was bad, and would have left my vote on her if not for the chance to tie.
Matahari See breakout. She digs deep into posts and finds tiny nuggets of suspicion mno one else would see, I've only seen surface nuggets. I could vote here. I would def like to see more from her.
Roxy See breakout. I think Roxy was hoping for a bit of an old home week lol, and her and Splints are :hug: . No real read, I don't feel actively bad about her, also don't feel actively town
S~V~S Bit of a bull in a china shop. She certainly doesn't mean to break china and hurt feelings, but she somehow still manages to do so.
Sabiplz See breakout.
Scotty He seems much more relaxed than he did in G1, BUT I joined that a few days in, so I didn't see his early game in real time. I'm kinda susceptible to buddying, so I'm wary, but haven't seen anything overtly bad so far
Seanzie Breakout. I don't always agree with his conclusions, but I still don't understand why he took such suspicion. He's engaging in good faith, and taking info from a changing thread into account.
Soneji No clue. I've only played maybe 1-2 games with them. falcons clr joke is the strongest mental association I have for Soneji.

OG Inactives: Several of the OG players seem to be ghosting a bit (or a lot). Could be since they're out of the mafia habit, they don't come here when they should be working like some of us :grin: but someone, or a few someones, has said it's possible there is a bad in the inactives, and with so many of them, that's probably true. I really don't like bringing out of thread into the thread, but meh. Odds are one is bad, but if they don't post, who's to know?

Mata: I knew @Matahari was having surgery on her hand, but I don't know if that has happened yet. So it could account for not really posting much or in depth. If I find she is still two handed though, she jumps to the top of the list.

Seanzie: I don't understand the argument against Seanzie, as it applies outside of his interaction with me. Re his interactions with me, I think he either misread or misunderstood something I said, which happens to me ALL THE TIME. ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I say alot of stupid shit and it gets me in trouble. So a me thing. Thought I was bad and went with it. Then maybe reread me, or took my well reasoned defenses to heart (maybe I should put that in orange lol, most of my defenses consisted of, "NO, you're wrong. No Just stop") and changed his mind. I don't associate backing away from a suspect you have been notably aggressively pursuing as a baddie move :shrug: Unless he always comes out of the gate so aggressively as a baddie, I'm not sure I see it.

This is why I forced the tie. ^^ I wanted another day to discuss it.

Sabi: I have some mixed feels with them. I don't understand the aggro push on Seanzie, I get tunnels, I'm a tunneler myself, but their posts are not very detailed outside of their time with marmot. Also, I was glad to see that it wasn't just me who thought it, and that they are salty in general. Whenever I interact with them, I feel like an almost disapproving schoolmaster vibe from them. But I can be salty, too (Hi Lucy!) and don't have much of a filter on top of it. So perhaps that is coloring my read on them.

Okey Dokey, might be back before 6PM eastern, might not. Have fun happy mafia people!

I've now successfully read all of you and expect praise. (I realize this is a surface level analysis, but I felt cool when I thought it and now I want to share.)
I think the issue with the old way of thinking that I haven't seen them bring up is rhe fact that we didn't know Wilgy was a civ, and he was far from socially clear.

Those saying "I wish civ!Wigly was here" well... civ!Wilgy wasn't here yesterday. ???!Wigly was, unless you have tmi (if so, tell me more!)
I'm saying that, mostly, I think. I am basing it on his game in Game 1. Early game he was kinda with his Wilgy shtick when he was even there. Then end game, he settled in and was very valuable to the town. He almost turned it around before the bads finally got rid of him. You can't base anyones value on Day 1, imo.

I actively thought you were probably NOT bad; I did not really have an opinion on Wilgy yet. But i didn't actively think he was bad. I didn't want you eliminated, I wanted more time to talk about it. But I also did not want someone I did not suspect eliminated, either. It was an available game mechanic; why not use it?

Information and worldbuilding/worlddestroying are important. We have miselims for a reason - each one is worth it's weight in information. No-elim costs us half a miselim without giving us any info.
I get that, but a living active player is just as valuable if not more so. I hate ending someone’s game if it isn’t necessary.

I guess I’m the wrong person to have in a game with a no death tie rule :haha:

One gives information, and one gives nothing
Like, if we didn’t resolve one of those, we’d be in a similar position today going…well, should we try to go after Sean and Wilgy again?

Are you actually falling back on that? Do you do that every game? I doubt it.

The only reason I reminded Golden was that he was trying to guilt me out over suspecting you, and I was fairly sure why. You think that's why I shouldn't suspect you? You think we should be able to do things that people find suspicious and fall back on this? I am disappoint.

this is shallow analysis, do you think I was ever limiting my sus pool to 3 people?
It seemed that way to me. I don't think it was shallow, I wrote about it at much more length in other places.

That did seem to me to be all you were interested in, though. And I could not see a town reason for it, like I said in another post, it felt exactly the same to me as if you mainly wanted to discuss people whose player name began with "S"; it had nothing to do with the thread. Golden gave me the impression that I was rude or uncharitable to you, and I am sorry if that is how I cam across. But it is what I felt.

I kind of still don't see a town reason for it. But i don't know you and perhaps I am judging unfairly.

Where would you have me vote instead, and why?
do you see a mafia reason for it?
Yes. Certainly, or I would not have posted about it multiple times. I felt it was opportunistic. I felt it was a false flag, trying to make a non suspicios thing seem suspicious, trying to focus suspicion on "not us" which is what mafia have to do in a game with no other baddies or third party.

But right now I am here trying to decide if and where I should move my vote, so again, who else would you have me vote for and why?

I can see that. For me I would worry about my it being easier for my brother to catch me in a lie because he knows me, so i might low post for that reason. But disinterest is also a good possibility.

In any case, he's safe from me, I don't like to eliminate nubs on day one. But i really hope to hear more from him going forward. Or not, if he doesn't like it, that's cool, too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I need to read Sabi to understand why she's taking votes this fast. Personally, I see myself in Seanzie somewhat, he is somewhat chaotic, and I have always been a chaotic civvie. And at least part of the issue people have with Sean seems to be Sabis read of him. But I don't really think he's bad. And I think perhaps he saw the sincerity in my posts this AM and that changed his mind. Or whatever process he used, I've been deep in a tunnel, and one post someone made, sometimes one sentnce in that post, made me reconsider. In any case, tunnelling someone that hard, and then just throwing the arms up and saying, "Ooops, my bad! I was wrong", seems more of a civvie move than a baddie one to me.
I checked out the Game 2 thread of the anniversary games and Sabi was right about the day one high post count, they had 2k posts on day one, but only like 4500 for the whole game. But most of it seemed to be shit posting, fairly typical day one, just lots more of it. I certainly did not read the whole thing lol, just skimmed a bit. While we haven't had 2k posts, I think we have had alot of content for a super productive game going forward after Day One.
D1 of g2 had 2 vote wagons everywhere when I commented about D1 being weird
there are alot of OG players here in this game, and we used to have non-movable votes. One vote one time. So we can be more circumspect with our voting through habit, it's how we learned to play. We take voting a bit more seriously, even if we don't have to. Call us old fashioned. So to us, a busy thread is lots of posts, not lots of votes. That's why you might be getting some :confused: re that.
It's nai. Ita my town meta that I have adopted to my wolf meta.
Serious question; not necessarily about you, and certainly not meant in a rude way, but just about how Mafia is played currently.
Is self meta taken seriously? In the past, it kinda really wasn't. A person talking about their own game in a defensive mode was something people didn't really base decisions on.
But you do it quite a bit, so I was wondering if this was more mainstream than it used to be?
How was it pingy? Dennis hasn't played or met anyone except family members. He had a read on marmot but not me and atp in the game marmot barely had content.
So explain
He knows me, but it's some time since I've seen him IRL. I follow him on Facebook. I've known him since he was about 18 months old or so.
You say 'some time' as if it wasn't when I was practically an infant. That comes off mean, but I would argue I don't know anyone enough to imagine how they would play but my brother and mother.
It was more recently than that, but maybe 6 or 7 years. I hear about all of you guys through the grapevine, aka your Mom.
Thinking about that in context of the game, you probably know more about how we play than we know about you. That's just a thought.
That's possible I suppose. Maybe that's why it surprises me maybe that people are listing Jack greener than you, but that is also colored by how *I* would feel in that situation, too. So hard to say.
What do you think of Jack? If you said it, I missed it.
OK, off to play catch up.
Ok, spawn.
Please, I beg of you.
Seems like Wild Dennis is ok
Now see my thought was if *I* was bad, and was playing against my sibling in a game like this, I would be afraid to lie in front of them, figuring it would be easier for them to catch me than random strangers.
But what I would do is not much basis for suspish. But if I had to rank them I’d prolly put Dennis greener than Jack.
Most likely town to least likely town
Kate
Jack
Dennis
But none of those reads are particularly strong yet. I'll be interested to see whether today's outcome gives insight.
Can you elaborate? Specifically on why you think Jack is more town than me.
Yeah, I kinda had the opposite feels myself, although not sure how much that was influenced by Jacks Walter White avi lol. So I’d like to hear this too.
If it helps, Lucy did something similar to me one time, even to the point where I had a similar reaction to Dennis. I think Lucy was town then. I'd guess it is NAI for her though.
