EBWOP, i left out (before the last line, I was too excited, lol)~

It's funny, there are two points being made against me; that I am qualifying, and that I have tunnelvision. Can't be both :haha:

Now I can guess why two people may have voted for me, but some of those votes on me are horseshit attempts to get me out of the way. Right S~V~S? You were looking for any reason to vote for me, and I can sniff it out when you are.

And timmer? Welcome. Glad you could take the burden off my wife. There's a good pal. I'm sorry you probably did not get an Old Rogue role, and, since you didn't vote to save llama, you didn't get a detective role.
Absolutely not. I think you were trying to signal the first day with your sidekick remark. I did not say anything about it, though, becasue there could be civ reasons for that behavior as well. Until the bullshit with Eloh. That was something you threw into the thread to try to distract from discussion of yourself. I don't "try to get you out of the way" if I don't think you are bad. I thought you were a civ for a large part of HSK, and did nothing against you. I don't think you are civ in this game becasue that whole "well I planned to kill her, but I have no kill, so I would lynch her" is more full of holes than moldy cheese. You knew she only signed up to play for you~ and when Timmer tried to join, you, a frequent host, should have been thrilled since then you did not have to try to lynch one of the roles for NO REASON other than that your wife tried to help you out. I call shenanigans, and I am going to keep calling them.

I may get accused of tunnelvision for it, but you all have met me before, right? If I have a bone, I'm gonna chew it. Sometimes I'm wrong, like I was about BF in HSK. Sometimes we're all wrong. But I see nothing civvie in anything you did or said once you started trying to lynch Elo for non game related reasons.

Don't you go playing the personal card, or trying to dismiss what I am saying by calling it personal. This is not personal. I think you're bad.

The point was you said you decided to NK/lynch her before the game even started. SO with that thought in mind, when Timmer tried to sign up after roles went out, you stuck to that idea rather than suggesting to her that Timmer take her role?

Not buying it. Although if LC is right, it won't matter.

I just looked, this thread was opened Sunday at 7:45, Timmer tried to sign up Sunday at 3:48. There was a willing replacement if Epi wanted to play so bad, and Elo did not.

I kinda am not as sure I buy that story anymore. Splints is right; this seems like a desperation play to me.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 1)

Epignosis wrote:Since it has been touched on already, and even though I was trying to be tactful, I will just spell it out.

I got lynched in HSK the day before spring break started for us. I had no Mafia during spring break (I'm sorry- I don't consider LMS Mafia), and was bummed. Flash had been in sign-ups for weeks. Eloh signed up so her pouting husband could have something fun to do. I decided I would kill her Night 1 if I could, or, if that couldn't happen, I would try to get her lynched.

That's right. My wife loves me, and I'm trying to kill her.

With her having no knowledge or interest in the theme, I figured that she would commit herself if she had BTSC, and I would have left her alone (well, in that case, I still might have Night killed her, but I can't).

I say this because I'm not trying to play the Eloh expert, distract you from talking about me, be mean-spirited by going after my wife Day 1, or whatever else I've been accused of doing. She has a gazillion cakes to make, and she signed up so I could play.

That's my hidden agenda.

Thus, here I am trying to remove a player who probably is not vested in this, and who I do not think has BTSC (and is therefore unlikely to be one of the six Old Rogues), and I'm the one with the most votes.

The irony is not lost on me. :meany:

Addendum.
Not sure what I think of this, it rings true. She sounded hounded when she signed up. From the way this reads to me, it sounds like the two of you discussed this before the game started?

I still think you were trying to distract from the looking for a sidekick thing, but whatever. Not sure if I will change my vote, or who I will change my vote to, maybe to Elo if she is so unhappy being here.

As for Llama, I think he only does this stuff to amuse himself (i can visualize him with a neat glass of bourbon, sitting at his desk, snickering to himself about Morlocks & Monkeys) when he does not have BTSC~ but BTSC or lack thereof does not mean much in this game, at least not this early. Especially with the tildes. It could also be as LC says, that he is leaning on an example of overt civvieness in his past.

I have no clue what he's talking about with Bullz. Then I never see Llamas cases, they never seem serious to me.

If I do change it, it will be from phone at work, and will probably be close to a drive by.

First of all, I love this guy already, because of the "I believe in me!" text in his picture.

Here's my solution for the first part of his tildes: "If the beam hits an Old or Independent Rogue whose signature color matches the beam, the two will gain BTSC for a day."

So, I thought it might be helpful to the Rainbow Raider if we talk about who has what signature colour. To preface, the colours of the rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Indigo, despite being, like, the best colour, is often left out. And violet is also called purple in the Common tongue.

Here's my analysis:

Captain Cold: Blue (even though his coat looks greenish in the pic... cold is blue, seems logical)
Heat Wave: Orange or yellow?
Mirror Master: Looks like orange, secondary colour is green.
Weather Wizard: Green, secondary yellow.
Trickster: Most likely blue, secondary yellow.
Golden Glider: Gold... but probably yellow.

Captain Boomerang - Blue
Abra Kadabra - Blue?
Dr Alchemy - Green, secondary blue
Magenta - Violet
Folded Man - Blue

So... my conclusion is that it would be most beneficial to Rainbow Raider and the Old/Independent Rogues if he sticks with blue as his main beam choice, because it seems like it's the most common "signature colour". That should result in the greatest likelihood of BTSC that will narrow down the baddies. And we don't need to worry about Heat Wave, because hooking up with Captain Cold would be just as good since they have BTSC by nature.

I don't know how much the Rainbow Raider knows about the colour beams he can choose. Maybe he's allowed to choose colours like brown, fuchsia, black, silver, and pale greenish-yellow. Maybe the signature colours are different - maybe Abra Kadabra's is black, and just looks blue due to the highlights on his costume.
I agree, I think this is an awesome analysis and Blue seems like a good bet; blue is supposed to be the most popular color in the world, and it would seem that that is the case for superheroes, too.

I followed a bit today, but did not read/follow indepth. Will do that tonight.

Have fun ika

My thoughts as they stand:

1. I'm not convinced that Epi is right about Elo. The pool of post he's drawn his conclusion from is too small. I'd need more time and more from Elo to make up my mind. That being said, I don't think Epi is bad.

2. I'm inclined to agree with DH on llama. If I didn't already have a strong suspect for today, I might have voted for him.

3. I think S~V~S is a baddie. Here's one reason.
S~V~S wrote:I am sure that at some point he will say it's a ploy to see who jumped on his vote/suspicion or something like that yadda yadda yadda.
Like...you did?

That is a quote she made about Epi and his suspicion of Elo, in case anyone needed context. I think this post was made as a way for S~V~S to get ahead of things in case Epi does go that route. She intentionally downplays the possibility, because she's only just now realizing how seriously bad it would make her look if that is what Epi did come out and say. This combined with the, as Epi put it, 'loaded questions' and misrepresentation she's put on Epi's post makes me think she is a baddie.

No it means I have played extensively with Epignosis. He has done similar things to test people in the past.

That was over a year ago. You don't think Eloh has become a more nuanced player since then?

And this setup is different: As far as I know, only two Old Rogues start with BTSC and can gain it. Only one New Rogue can gain it but doesn't start with it.
I think that she has. You are the one making her sound like she has not; no BTS and she loses interest. I have seen her play a sound civ game with no BTS. Perhaps two games stretches her thin. I know I have issues juggling that at times, and I have been playing for a long time.

No...some of us are more discreet about their BTSC. :meany:
That was a different game; we had a five person neutral team. We could openly defend without prejudice. You can air this laundry in that thread, or in a PM :)

@MM, I really don't know if he does. My point was that if you have teammates and you need a distraction, usually THEY are the ones to set it up. Less obvious that way. I wasn't speaking to Epis style specifically.

I was being kinda facetious more than anything; my reasoning was just as valid, perhaps from the standpoint of anyone who has ever had BTSC, more valid. It could be applied to anyone, as could Epis reasoning re Elo.

Wow, busy day.

Re llama, this is exactly what he did in X Men; that does not make him a civ (or an Old Rogue or what have you). It kinda makes him a hypocrite~ he is always screaming to kill low posters becasue they are not helping the home team with their lack or participation. But then, carrying on endlessly about Morlocks or Monkeys or whatever does not help anyone, either. I see DHs point; I want to see if, now that the pregame is over, Llama steps up to the plate.

I am with MM on Epis analysis; that there are a lot of other roles that are not Old Rogues that, at this stage, are not a threat. That may change. But not voting for someone cause her husband says she does not have BTSC (looking at the roles, not many do) is just way too vague and meta even for me.

I don't think Epi has BTSC either becasue if he did, he would have gotten someone else to throw this last distraction bone into the thread, rather than doing it himself. But, same as for Elo, at this point I don't see lack of BTS as as all that much of a threat.

So since we have new players in this game who play with the taking votes on and off to apply and ease pressure mechanic, I am going to Vote Epignosis. I think he has something to hide, and I think he's shoving his wife in front of us as a scapegoat.

Yay changeable votes, my favorite thing :lorab:

I used the phrase, "Voting SVS for no reason." in the Game of Champions and promptly lost.

We can do stuff now. Namely, day 0 is a period of time we can use to get a feel for players before day 1 so were less likely to mislynch. You're not trying to hide are you? :ponder:

Regardless, welcome to our forum. Did you have a reason for voting L?
Hello friend, I don't think we've met before!

Oh, Comic nerd people, any clue what the letters might mean? How many Gems are there? 5? could that possibly be what the poll determines?
Hello!

Personally, I like the inferred theory from LC that the voted letter may be revealed to us from the secrets in roles. Ie, if you believe that theory, you don't want to vote for the less commonly occurring letters in the alphabet.

Also, did you see anything interesting in the roles to point out, since that was your self-assigned task from your first post?
I doubt that it's the letter thing. The last MR hosted game i played had secrets, and they were never revealed during the game. Considering that no blanks are currently given, I expect the secrets to remain-well-- secret.
My guess as it stands is teams.

And yeah bunch of interesting stuff, but i'm going to hold off on saying anything quite yet. As it stands I kinda don't want to touch the roles with a fifty foot pole....at least not yet....
Read the Host Posts, even if you read nothing else.

Long Con wrote:So, first thing on my mind: *secrets* Wow, there are so many secrets in this game! The word *secret* is used, like, thirty times in the role descriptions. Prof. Zoom, Zoom, and Gorilla Grodd have secrets that are so secret that they need to be shown twice! That's some seriously secret stuff.

I haven't looked at the poll yet, but from reading the thread, it looks like we'll be choosing a letter. Barry Allen's dead role check power involves finding letters in secret roles... Host, will we be getting tildes for all the secrets?
This means revealable secrets. Although tbh it is impossible to read the question in that post if you are on the light color scheme, which I am for phone purposes. For this game, I might go back to dark, though.

Looks like last night was tons o'fluff and a few people trying to discuss the game in the wilderness. Seeing the win conditoons laid out like that makes these factions a bit easier to understand, I was thinking there were a lot less "civvies" than there actually are if you go by win conditions.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 0)

I thought Llama took his place?

And are votes changeable, or permanent once cast?
