Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 7)

I am curious about something; when I got my role PM, I was told by the host what my power was, how it worked, etc., and was ALSO told, that should a certain thing happen, that things could change.

Did anyone else have that in their role PM, a qualification?

I am OK with my vote where it is. I think MM being the controller makes sense.

As for today's lynch, I'm still inclined to distrust MM and think that's where we will find our Top.
This makes total sense to me. Looking back, he was kinda annoyed when we tried to find alternatives to "Timmer" during the Timmer curse, didn't he? And I have never been forced by the Top, and if that role was connected to Timmer, I think I would have been.

I am going to trust Bass, who I am like super sure is not bad. Voting MM.

I read the night story and thought maybe what happened could be related to this:

The Trickster – The most inexperienced Rogue and a notorious prank enthusiast. Leaves a “trap” on one player during even nights. If that player is ~ar~e~e~, the a~~~~~ ~s re~erse~.

I don't know if someone already solved this, but I read it as: "If that player is targeted, the action is reversed".

So it made me wonder whether the Trickster trapped the victim of the killer tonight, and the action was reversed. If that's what happened, then it means Daisy could have been a killer
I think you're right, someone definitely tried to kill The Trickster last night. Not entirely sure if SD was that killer, as the post writes her as a passerby minding her own business, but that could be just fluff writing for obfuscation.
Based on that word "reversed" I am not sure that that is exactly how it works, I think the Tricksters TARGET was the attempted kill, and it was deflected to that persons target, perhaps? I have been wondering about this since the Bullz kill. The vagueness of that post made me think there was a deflection role of some kind.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 5)

Yeah, I thought that was what you implied. I tend to not pay much attention to the laying traps thing, and just blurt crap out.

Sorry I have been so absent this week, my brothers 3 month old car is toast, he's got crutches (sprain, and knee issues, no breaks) but that's about it. Considering he was hit by a Dodge Ram speeding through a yellow-to-red, it could have been one hell of a lot worse. but barring Armageddon, I would think I will have no problem putting in normal participation levels.

 My post was a couple of things. It was an explanation of a suspicion and a compliment. It was a promise. It was a defense. At the bottom, it was a humourous observation.

What it was not was a case. :eye: I'm VERY interested in how you read this post and say that it's just "wrong", and how you could call it a case.

You didn't read it, you're just paying it lip service. You obviously have something going on besides actually reading the thread completely, but to react so dishonestly is seriously suspicious. You could have said "LC, I've been so busy, I need to go back and really read your post", but you didn't. I was actually not too invested in the idea that you are the Top, but I'm pretty damn sure now that you are bad. Like the lynch of Bass 1.0, behaviour is very revealing, and you are undeniably trying to be deceptive with me.

Here's my post, for the record.

I think I did one good thing this game, I will find out end game (maybe 2) but for the most part, i have sucked. Timmer has been poking at me since he subbed in, LC has been insinuating in my direction (and insinuating LC is bad LC, imo) most of the game, and then MP comes in and says things that he knows will get my Irish up, and basically says, "This is how *I* am interpreting the game. If you don't like it, lynch me". Awesome.
I think you're looking at my suspicion of you in the entirely wrong way. It is nothing but a compliment that I suspect you first of this, I think you're clever enough to put a plan like this in motion, that's all. Between that, and the fact that the "participants" in this plot are all people you are close to as longtime Mafia friends, I think you owe me at least an acknowledgement that it's not unusual that I am looking in your direction. :noble:

I also think it was an overreaction to a temporary vote. But I'mma let that slide because you have had a stressful weekend. :srsnod: I promise I never have, and never will, attempt to use your life complications as a Mafia strategy - I swear the timing of it was unrelated. :hugs:

I just want to address "insinuating in your direction" as well. I'm trying to think of what you mean by that. I can only recall mentioning you once before, when I was suspecting Roxy, Bass 2.0, Aces, and you of some nefarious dealings. Well, it turns out Aces was pretty bad, Roxy and Bass are possibly good, possibly not. I don't think that I was insinuating in your direction, you were just someone who was part of a group of people that had sketchy-looking stuff going on (namely, Roxy's vouch for Aces, Bass' vouches, etc). I'm fine with "insinuating LC is bad LC", whether that's true or not, because I don't think I've been particularly "insinuating" in this game.

OK, this is my opinion of you. Like I said, several times actually, lots of things you have said this game sound like baddie things to say to me, but your tone is not bad. I don't think you are bad, tbh, and kinda have an idea why you might sould as you do to me. I think I read you fairly well, and you have been making tentative stabs at me most of the game until you came out and said it. But, alsa, my opinion of YOU does not make ME bad.

I think Bass theory on his Mom makes a million percent sense, and Timmer trying so hard to prove her bad after her death is really what brought it to a head for me.

We did not get a role reveal on Roxy. I would prefer to have some control over my contribution to the game in this way. I would rather by lynched today than NKed tonight. So then even though I have sucked seriously as a civvie (yes, MP, I said the "C" word), my death will have some value this way. If someone I actually suspect looks to be lynched, I will consider changing my vote that way.
Dude, this is so bullz' shtick. Come on, you know this. XD
No, it can be anyones schtick. I was incredibly frustrated. Several people I don't think are bad were voting for me, I came back from a 4 hour drive from a hospital in another state to find votes, for silly reasons. I had a hissy fit. You have seen me have worse hissy fits. And sometimes, you know, proving someone else wrong is more important than being proven correct yourself. This was one of those occasions for me. You're wrong, and I don;t want to be NKed and see a bunch of people talking about how bad I obviously was after I am dead, when I actually think I have had a pretty positive effect on the civs in this game
Was this your big case? Let me know if you have anything else. But I am sure you don't cause...

It's wrong.

I am moving the vote to Dreamy. I think her vote was really opportunistic, and the case she is saying is so convincing is pretty much gut, yes, LC?

Again, sorry for the spottiness.

I don't know. I do know he was upset about what happened in the thread in a real way, not a fake role playing way. That is really all I am comfortable with saying. Although that could be a separate issue from being controlled, I suppose. Like he was controlled to push a certain viewpoint and vote a certain way, but that did not mean he would not be getting upset by reactions to him?

I dunno. He also denied it very vehemently. People who have been controlled, is this an OK thing to do when controlled? Like are you told, "First rule of being controlled is no talking about being controlled?" There was no wink wink EXCEPT that part where he said he did not want to die, and that he loved this game. THAT part sounded pretty much...like a cry for help?

I can talk myself in and out of this one.

I can't decide with SVS. Most of the time, she seems genuine to me, but then there are those moments when I think she's devious enough.

MP, you talk a lot about how we should play this game, yet basically you only talk about the meta. The only person you mentioned as possibly not trust worthy is SVS. Besides, no matter what way we play the game, we try to take out those we don't trust. So what's the point in talking about it. If you have a plan, say it. If not, this just seems like trying to stir things.

I think the fact that there were two parties trying to kill Bullz and the story is so vague means one of these three: MP, Devine and Dream, are bad. Not sure exactly when Dream joined and whether he/she were already here during the night. Since once of them is very likely a killer, I think we should focus on them. Unless I'm misinterpreting what happened at night.
Now see, I had a theory that Bullz could have been a killer, and it somehow turned on him. Maybe his potential victim had a Bomb type deflection or something of the sort. Which was why when the person trying to kill him found him, he was already dead. There were two kills in that post, and one of them was a fail, imo, not both targeted at Bullz. That's why I think the post was so vague.

But I have no real reason for thinking this, but it makes me think Bullz probably was bad, although not knowing who HIS victim might have been kind of halts speculation for me there. Although your point, about returning killers, is also a good one and probably more plausible & less speculative for sure.

Don't take llama's words too seriously would be my advice. He might suspect you but his reasoning seemed willingly silly. He also said he would consider changing his vote.

Glad to hear everything turned out okay with your neice.
Well, MP telling me that I made no sense is something he KNOWS is going to upset me. He KNOWS it. But he said it anyhow. That does not read like civ MP to me. That particular post of his that you quoted is definitely written from a non-Old Rogue perspective for sure. An interesting point that I would not have noticed had you not pointed it out.

Also, I'm not an indy. But thanks for not automatically thinking I am bad :) And I agree that Bass would be putting a huge target on himself to say what he said just for cred. And Thank YOu. It's scary cause she's non verbal autistic, and it's hard sometimes to tell if something serious is wrong. She acted exactly the same, my sister said, as she does when she is having bathroom problems. So they gave her laxatives for over 24 hours before they called the doctor. They live hours from here, and there are pets here etc., so logistics etc. Rough weekend :faint:

I think the way I reacted to those two votes tell me I should not be here tonight.

And yeah, MM harsh. And OK, that is what i did. I thought you meant you were forced to vote for Bullz. Then not knowing what you were forced to do, not sure how LC could say it was anti-Timmer, or how I could defend against that. And as I said, I don;t plan on defending against it tonight. The VS in her name stands for "versus" and implies an adversarial relationship.
Well, since you bring it up... I was waiting to see if Timmer thought this way, because S~V~S is actually the person that I think has been mind controlling people. Rabbit, Metalmarsh, Black Rock... with a clever twist of focusing people toward Timmer. These are all players that I could see S~V~S targeting. I wanted to see if Timmer thought the same.

*votes S~V~S*
Absolutely no mind control here. MM says he was mind controlled towards Bullz. Why does that implicate Timmer? MM suspected Timmer~ getting him to vote for someone other than Timmer would be ridiculous in your scenario.

And I would mind control people I did not think would try to work a way around it, and all of those people would, tbh.

And next time you have a kid in the hospital, see if I give you the BOTD. Nice to wait until today to throw a vote at me :pout:

It has been a very long time since I've played-- years to be exact-- but it's almost like riding a bike.

The first post that I saw and decided that I wanted to keep an eye on her was this one by Sophie. Just seems like there's not a lot of substance in her posts to back up her statement. I don't know if this is how she typically plays or something, but atm it just bothers me, I just want to hear something more. Until then: :eye:

Then, as the day went on I noticed all the Timmer stuff, but something in his defense kinda makes me want to believe him. If I'm not mistaken, didn't this start with a cursed SVS? If so, I'm inclined to believe that maybe Timmer isn't bad but perhaps a victim of a set-up and I don't want to throw a vote there if that is the case. If SVS wasn't cursed then and she was going at him hella hard for whatever reason, that doesn't sit well with me. IIRC, SVS is quite the talented player and she could easily be messing with my head. Due to my own confusion on this matter, mostly from skimming the previous days posts and trying to keep this all in order in my head, I'm not inclined to vote for Timmer atm, either. Or SVS for that matter.

Then there was Bass's post that gave me pause. IMO, it seems like the reason you're so adamant about Roxy having been Capt Cold is so that it would give the you civ credit. I will admit that it was your most recent posts that truly stuck out to me caused me to look at your previous posts regarding Capt Cold and form my opinion.

There's still a lot of time left and that will hopefully give me the opportunity to do a bit more thorough re-read to see if there's something else that sticks out to me.
I was not cursed

My niece has appendicitis, and shes not verbal, so they were not sure how long it had been going on, and were worried about peritonitis. She is OK, we're all tired, but OK. What gave you the idea I was cursed?

And knowing Roxy, I thought Bass' idea was utterly plausible. I have to go read more and see what happened.

I started from the bottom up and saw this. I have to go see what happened.

Guys sorry to be afk all day. My niece is sick, she has appendicitis. I am unlikely to be back tonight, & will be gone most of tomorrow, too. I will pop in when/if time allows. Again, sorry, gonna vote now for Yimmer in case I don't get back, although I am sure I will.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Night 4)

He said that Eloh, whom Timmer replaced, was bad. Looking back on it, I can't see any reason how he would benefit from that if she were other than bad. Even if he was bad himself, it would be a cred thing for him since she did not want to play anyhow.

The more I think on it, the more I think I believe Epi may have been right.

I would like to know who Timmer, and LC, want to lynch.

I also find it odd that this night, the host did not really specify who killed, just how many. That is different, and I wonder why that is.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Night 4)

Soneji hasn't posted in days.

And I think Timmer is bad. I am not sure if I can really articulate why. I gave him the BOTD yesterday because he told me something I know to be true, and he had no way to know that. BUT that does not make him a civ. He called out me & Roxy from his first posts in the game, and I know he was wrong about me. And, in retrospect, I think Epi was right, although at the time I thought his whole story was crap. Having gone back & reread him, I think I may have misjudged him, and I think Roxy may have as well.

I will go back tomorrow and try to see if I can put a case together out of the thread based on what my gut is telling me.

I think Bass has a really good point about Roxy. And I think there might be some serious opposition not just from real CC, but also from real Heatwave if what he says was not so. And I think it's because Roxy was CC.

I am looking forward to your thoughts, MP. Also to Dreamys.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 4)

I mainly asked MM becasue I am tending to trust him this game. The thought he had on why try so hard to prove Roxy was bad is the same one I had. It was really the main reason I finally voted for Timmer after suspecting him literally the entire game. Then I reread some notes I had from chat with BF, and decided to see what Timmer would say about that. From my perspective, he said the right thing. Since he did not know what my perspective was (and that is the best I can do re un-vague) that eased my feelings about him quite a bit.

But I still want to hear what MM has to say before I make a decision.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 4)

I don't know, tbh. Timmer was lumping us together as a unit from Day One, and that gives me a touch of Stockholm Syndrome regarding her. I would have much preferred she be lynched than NKed; for me, it would have helped me sort out my feelings re Timmer.

She was making some very strong statements regarding herself, and I am more used to Roxy making more vague implications when she is bad.

Can you tell me, Timmer, within the limits of what is acceptable, if you know why BF thought you & he interacted Night One? Even a yes/no would help me.
Nothing I would call an interaction, really. But if you think of all of the different ways two people could be technically linked in the course of a single mafia night (map btsc, role btsc, someone targets someone else with their night power, stuff like that) then yes, there is a certain something between us that night. And yet no. Because whatever the thing is that was supposed to be.... wasn't. And I have no idea why. Does that fit with what BF may have mentioned? I don't think I can say more than that.
Yes this makes sense. Thanks.

And he went to look for you after our time was up. What else would I have meant? Sometimes people make me feel like I am speaking a different language, when I know I am not ha ha.

Sorry if this is boring you LC

I will likely switch to Aces or Daisy.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 4)

I brought it up before. BF seemed to have some kind of result night one that involved Timmer. He seemed to think that Timmer had learned something about him, maybe? Not sure, no outing rules=vague. For my own equally vague reasons I had my own thoughts about this situation.

I just want to know if Timmer knows what BF was talking about or not.

I don't recall what you speak of here, what interaction?
I was asking Timmer, which might be why you don't recall it :p

I mentioned it earlier. After Night One, BF seemd to think he had had an interaction with Timmer in the night via night actions. We were in a good place to be on the map, but he left to look for Timmer, based on something he was vague about due to no outing.

But I want Timmer to tell me if he knows what that might have been about. Just yes/no if that is all he feels comfortable with. But I kinda need to know if he knows what BF was talking about.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 4)

I will say that based on what BF told me, I believe him to have checked Timmer on Night 2. So it is unlikely that Timmer is CC or Heat Wave. And LC, I see your point, but the role list says the Old Rogues are the closest thing to a civvie option. So
