Re: Muppet Babies - Day 3
@Spacedaisy
Here it is, sorry I forget to post it earlier.
ORANGE CRANBERRY BUNDT CAKE
2 1/2 cups flour
Orange zest (3 Tb if fresh, 2 if dried)
2 Tb Cointreau (any orange liqueur will do, I use this one, plus *optional* more to soak berries)
4 eggs, room temperature
1 cp fresh cranberries (OR 1 to 1 1/4 cp dried soaked overnight in orange liqueur) and @ another Tb of flour for berries, you might need a tad more if you use the soaked
2 cups sugar (1 3/4 cups if you use the dried liqueur soaked berries)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
GLAZE
1Tb butter
1 cup powdered sugar
appx 3 Tb heavy cream
1 Tb each Orange juice and Orange zest
1/2 tsp Orange Extract (or if you don't have this you can use some of the leftover liqueur from soaking the berries)
*If using dried soaked berries, put the berries in a flat (if possible) container with a cover, cover with liqueur, cover container and leave on counter overnight up to 24 hours
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
350* oven, preheated
Bundt pan, greased and floured
CAKE
Mix together the orange zest and juice, orange liqueur and eggs and set aside. In another bowl, toss the cranberries with 1 Tb of flour (drain the liqueur out first if you use the soaked berries, and drain it well)
Mix the dry ingredients (sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda and 2 1/2 cups flour) together . On low speed (this works best with a stand mixer, hand mixer is a littler harder, but I used to make this with a wooden spoon and a whisk; it was a work out but it came out fine), add the butter 1 TB at a time and continue to mix until it takes a fairly uniform crumbly texture. While mixing, slowly pour in the set aside liquid ingredients until combined. With a med-high mixer (this would be where the hand mixing work out comes in) beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes with the mixer.
*BY HAND* with a spoon, fold in the cranberries. Pour the batter into the pan and tap it gently on the counter to even out and lift air bubbles.
Bake 50-60 minutes depending on your oven (I have an electric oven now, and it takes @55, when I had a gas oven it was closer to 50, I'd start testing between 45-50 mins) verify with the toothpick test, if it comes out clean you're good.
Let it cool in the pan on the counter for about 20 mins-half an hour, and mix the glaze.
GLAZE
Whisk together the ingredients (don't be tempted to melt the butter; it whisks easier melted, but the texture is different), start with 3 TB of cream, drizzle small amount more in if you want a bit more creamy texture.
Remove the cake from the pan, slowly pour the glaze on and refrigerate to "set" the glaze before serving.
It's a versatile cake, good enough for Thanksgiving company dessert next to the pumpkin pie, but also perfect for a cake to keep around anytime for a quick snack.
Re: Muppet Babies - Day 3
Dennis can also be a kill playing to people who think Six would get a kick out of killing his family (virtually, lol), because that seems to be a thing some people are thinking. Dennis might also have been a person who might have brought some more insight to the thread on Six.
That is my supposition; that Dennis was killed to isolate Six and make him easier to eliminate.
Here's Daisys last post. (I snipped out the spoilered quote on top)
So unless he protests, I think, like I said last night, I doubt he's having a super blast in this game with everyone he knows gone, he might be OK with exiting the game.
I would prefer to yeet Daisy today, but if you insist on Six and he's OK with it, OK. But i sincerely think yeeting Daisy will end the game.
Daisy missed the vote. So (and I know everyone doesn't agree) of her POE, Neon was town. I think most if not all of us town read Mata, I town read Falcon, and I think I'm not the only one, his interactions with Neon look so so civ to me. This leaves Six in her POE.Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 12:57 am
But I think what my gut reaction to it was that it didn't feel like an accurate description of Dennis. I had done that reading day 1 and when I read this it was like, this doesn't stick right, why doesn't it stick right? I think it just was really different than the impression I had of Dennis. I think I'm falling on the side of giving Dennis a town lean at the moment.
I'm still feeling town lean on Wilgy, I don't know about falcon. I feel pretty comfortable calling Mac town. All the moves look just like his normal civ game to me. Despite thinking SVS is wrong about me, I think her take on Dennis makes me feel like I could say town lean there also so who does that leave in my PoE?
falcon, Mata, Neon, sixstrings
Meh.
Re: Muppet Babies - Day 3
Don’t you think if I was NKed everyone (including you) would point right to Daisy?
@Matahari another option would be framing Six as several people seem to think Kate would find being NKed by her husband fun.
I have reason to think everyone in here is town, except Daisy. But my guess is that Six isn’t having much fun anyhow in a thread full of strangers, so imma stop trying to talk people out of it.
Re: Muppet Babies - Night 2
She voted him three hours before EOD. When I came in it was @ 1 hour before EOD. And it was tied then. It would have been sketch af for her to move the vote at that point. But if you read her posts she left herself an opening to do so.
Explain Radishes moving his vote in GOC. You can’t.
And again, I think you’re ascribing Mafia motives and attitudes he may not have developed as yet.
I’m voting Daisy, and you can vote the nub you think killed his wife and now his son lol.
All the reasons you think he is. I don't know him, but I know her. She wheedled him for months to play. She loves mafia. He would not kill her night one on his own, she would NOT think it was funny lol. If sig was still alive, yes. His "plz help me" posts have also seemed genuine to me. I have seen him in the tray, and he seems to spend a lot of time in here for someone not posting much, he's reading. He's just a nub who is playing cause someone else talked him into it, not because he happened on a game and thought it was awesome. You're ascribing mafia mindset logic to him, imo.MacDougall wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 6:12 pmWhat reason do you have to think he is?S~V~S wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 6:11 pmI would rather yeet Daisy first, please. If I am wrong, I will sit down and shut up. But I very seriously don't think I am.
And since there is only one baddie left, why tf would he make a decisive vote to yeet a civ? Any one not him is a good thing, lol, if he's bad. He would have voted Dennis for not cleaning his room or summat
That confused me because I’m used to constantly reassessing things from the entire game. So I wasn’t sure what you were meant.DrWilgy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 4:24 pmI'm not entirely sure what you are asking.Matahari wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 4:00 pm @DrWilgy does the new way of playing stick to a cycle? Do you not go back and look at whole game behaviors when evaluating a player? Or are people just judged by what they’re doing today?
Sometimes a person can say something early in a game that is reasonably innocent sounding but a few days later, it can look very bad.
Are you asking if my opinion of you is day to day static? If so no, that would be silly.
When I first read your post on Mac having a mistake, I interpreted this as 'you saw this 'mistake' and are going to go back and find it on re-read now.' Not, 'I'm doing a re-read now and found a mistake I didn't see before.'
The former raising the question 'why is this happening only now?'
I would be very surprised if Mac was bad. When we had that thing N0/D1 where he dangled bait and I bit, he felt genuine. He listened to what I said, and he let me off his hook. He felt like he was engaging in good faith.
There’s no reason for him to have done that if bad.
Who are you most suspicious of? Aside from resolving and analyzing how many misyeets we have? I mean, we have 3, but wouldn't it be more awesome to do it in less?
Analysis is good and it has its place in games, town can't win without it. But does anyone vote based on suspicion anymore or is it just POE analysis?
Reply here got sucked into the prior post. I think if there was something in the back of your mind that might be important, and you were, as you say, forgetful in general, you would go find it.
Mind meld. I was literally thinking why would Dennis kill Kate when she was defending him? That doesn't look to me like a solo Dennis kill. I think it actually is a better look for him being possible town.Spoiler: show
You list Six Strings as one of your POE. Do you also think he might, as a nub that prolly got cajoled and wheedled into this game, and had never played before, as a solo baddie, kill Kate Night One?
Spoiler: showI love that you call me well crafted and I can't recall what the other word is. You really are obsessing over nothing. I'm a stream of consciousness kind of poster. See prior post, I thought the point was important enough to pull it out.
Mind meld. I think the only vote on there I don't trust is Neon.Spoiler: show
Maybe you (and everyone else) need to reread her day yesterday. I think half of what she says is NAI, and the other half doesn't sound even remotely wolfy to me.
If I was setting myself up to move my vote, why didn't I? This makes no sense. I never would have moved to neon because my biggest suspicion of Neon at the time was based on how sig would flip. Why would I vote Neon first? You have some conf bias going on, I have not been excessively waffling.Spoiler: show
Because, based on your post times, you did not come back until about an hour before day ended. At that time, it was tied, you asked the hosts how ties were handled, and appear to have left again. The thread was jumping and making a major move like that would have looked supabad imo. Look how much suspish Neon took for it, and as one of the potential yeetees, it would have been understandable from her. So you didn't do it. Sig made a "thanks for nothing" post , and you were gone again. And I came into Day Two SURE Neon was bad, I changed my mind midday, after watching her post, so not sure how that would be "confbias" or whatever jargon. I think you have been waffling, not sure about 'excessively', but definitely waffling.
And it makes sense to me![]()
Ok, I'm off to see whatever it was.
OK, I pulled this out from the main post becasue this leads to a very specific point. THAT IS THE POINT. The fact that this is so well crafted and carefully worded, in a multiquote post that took some time to make, yet you had this thing in the back of your mind, that may have made a difference in your out look, and you didn't take the time to look it up? Knowing you likely would not be around?Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 12:36 am
Anyways like...I think aside from vibes I don't think Daisy needed to stay on Sig.
Sure Daisy left outs but those outs presented themself and they were never taken. That doesn't feel W/W it feels like a towny who's unsure of their reads in perpetuity.
And I want you to get that win, too.
OK, dinner than reading in another thread.
Well, if Daisy puts up a plausible defense, maybe I'll start suspecting you again and I'll move my vote back, since that appears to be what you want. I started rereading the EOD with the thought in mind that you and I almost never see eye to eye, and that it's NAI for us, and that made what happened more understandable for me.
And any part I had in 'not fun' I'm sorry, that's never my intent. I'm not always the best at reading the room.
@Neon, and you didn't like it when I voted for you, either, soI just think those posts of hers look bad as all hell. Giving herself room to go either way. We have a day left in day, maybe she'll spank me and make me look like a fool.
I do not like this vote nor because you are voting someone I vibe read town but because you've chosen to move off me even as I've admitted intent to behave in an even more anti town master by self voting and giving up. I feel like you know I'm going to flip town and you don't want to be on three wagon of the towny that gave up because it will look better and you can say you were the first to realize that I was being honest with my emotions and use that to clear yourself.
No, I prefer to vote for my strongest suspect. And right now it isn't you.
I don't think me moving my vote puts you in and danger of living lol.
I almost gave up today, I was stressed by this thread and spoke with Splints about it, but ultimately decided not to. Being stressed or unhappy in a thread that feels toxic to you isn't anti town, it's human.
Think of it like this; if I'm right, then we can both get the fuck out of here. And if we lynch you, listening to your frustration today, I don't think the game will end.
@Matahari It's really only those two posts. The one for sig, where she kinda shaded Neon a bit too, to possibly leave her room to move her vote safely should the thread allow later. And her last post, where she thinks theres "something" hinky about Neon v Dennis, but she doesn't quite recall what, in a multi quote post, again leaving room to go either way plausibly. Otherwise, they are pretty level and unassuming.
Super well crafted posts.
People I'm Not voting for:Matahari wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 5:51 pmMy reads will change from day to day, as thread info comes in.falcon45ca wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 5:15 pmSo what are your actual reads then?
If you're actually considering all sides of the situation and entertaining the legitimacy of them, then surely you must see how to town there's gonna be the appearance of hypocrisy
As of right now, I have as probable town: SVS, Dennis, Daisy, and I’m keeping Strings in this group for the time being, even without much info to go on. He’s new and I hope he gets enough time to enjoy playing.
Everyone else is just in a gray area right now. I don’t hardcore suspect anyone but not sure if anyone in this group is town either. I need to see more from them.
Yesterday, I did suspect Neon a bit, but I think maybe I’m just not used to her posting style, and I am trying to be fair. I want to wait a bit and try to see if I can understand her pov.
I also had doubts about Mac towards the end of day 1, but I could also see how a civ might change their mind and try to get people to ‘re-open the case’. I’ve done this before so I need to think on this some more.
At this point, I would really like to see what everyone thinks about everyone.
Wilgy, Dennis, Mac, Six
People I Would Need convincing to vote for:
Falcon and Now (ALL NEW!) Matahari
People I could consider pending input:
Daisy, that one post was so well crafted to leave her options open.
And I already voted for Neon, but I'm not married to that. I felt good about her until the end of the day, and the way she went for Dennis overnight. I have to read her and Macs interactions. Also sig interactions, I started doing that this AM, but never finished becasue work (boo hiss).
What are you seeing about Daisy that I am not? That one post I quoted earlier, about Neon and Dennis ... that keeps poking at the back of my mind.
Look, Neon. I was trying to find common ground with you because I found you towny earlier; in my vote post, that's why I voted for sig, not you. But I found it hard to move past your joining sig on his last minute Wilgy Wagon attempt. I have more reasons for thinking many here are good rather than bad. I was hoping we could find some common ground., so i asked you why you townread the two people I am conflicted on.
I was hoping to understand your position, and also help to inform my own, not force you to do something you loathe.
I wish every game had only 11 people in it, lol. And that I know most of them well enough, and there isn't anyone I've never played with, it's so much easier to have actual opinions.
This is where I'm at,
Dennis- town
Dr Wigly- town
falcon45ca- lean town
MacDougall- Town
Matahari- leans someway, could be that I am always paranoid of Matahari. It's not that I disagreed with much of what she's said (and whether or not someone agrees with me isn't AI), it's that I don't particularly understand it. Like this vote post,
Neon- lean badMatahari wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 2:09 pm I made a list of possible teammates while rereading the thread again, and Neon’s name came up more often than Sigs did. Well, she was on one more team than Sig. I’m going to put my vote on her for now, unless something major happens to change my mind.
[VOTE: Neon] aubergine
SixStrings-lean town, but not for reasons of anything he's done. I doubt anyone busses their wife, who is their only teammate, in a game she loves, when they themselves are not very invested. This would not end well for him.
Spacedaisy-leans ???; very smooth well crafted posts. Daisy always feels level and even to me. I will say in rereading her, this felt very wiggly to me, almost as if she was positioning herself to justify a vote for either Neon or Dennis with this post, depending on how the thread played out.
Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 2:06 pm
I feel like there was something between Neon and Dennis that felt off to me, but I can’t remember what. I’ll try to go back to find that after I get done working. I may or may not be back in today, Monday is the day I try to stuff in as much work as I can because it’s the last day of the pay period. I make no promises about my involvement in Tuesday afternoon.
Sig/Neon
Sig/Wilgy or Falcon (Wilgy because his questioning of Sig seemed softball; but possibly he is just very polite, and Falcon because he early voted Sig, but changed to Neon later without much explanation.
Neon /Sig
Neon/Dennis (early on, I thought her weak case on Dennis could have been an attempt to distance.
Neon/Wilgy or falcon (again, it was early on and I changed my mind throughout the day
Neon/Mac- this was a stretch, and added on later in the day when I briefly thought maybe they had been working together and then suddenly both started backing off Sig like they didn’t want to be associated with a possible towny Sig getting lynched on day 1?? This was definitely a stretch, but I’ve seen wolf teams pull off some weird stuff before. Anyway that suspicion was fairly brief.
I had hoped this list might give me a stronger feeling about whether Sig or Neon was bad, or both of them. I ultimately decided that they were a probable team. That is not how I feel today though. I’m waiting for Mac to post his detailed reasoning for his actions yesterday (he said he was going to do this) because Sig/Mac could also be a possibility.
I hope this wasn’t confusing, I’m an over thinker for sure. I’ll try to post more throughout the day but it’s difficult because I’m babysitting.
Interesting...doesn't like that, tho I sussed Sig, I moved on to Neon...whom he has as a SR it would seem for the entire day, and even has them as a neon/sig w! team
Hypocrisy is often towny, but this also is just gross
I need to read not just skim you, but as you know you always make me a pit paranoid as you tend to read deeper into things, so it can be hard to tell for me. Although I did figure it out in LGM, and you really don't look much like that here.
