No, that's from a while ago, although we actually did get snow this morning. We're not sure exactly how old he is, when we adopted him they thought he was 4-5, and that was 4 years ago this summer.dunya wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 4:37 pmok Jake is an absolute cuteyyyy! There's a few more pictures here... The second and third are very typical Jake poses.Spoiler: show
also, wow, you have a lot of snow there! is that recent? We are still snowed in here.![]()

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
More like the "dunya interviews colonialbob" room
I don't remember what I made for dinner... shame on me. I was too focused on the upcoming question to remember much else apparently.
I don't know that I really had one? I did the standard "pretend to be a sports star" stuff as a kid, but I'm not sure if I ever thought I would actually be one when I grew up. For a while I wanted to be an editor, I guess.
I listen to a lot of different stuff. My go-to Pandora stations are Childish Gambino and Blackstar, but I also have a Dead South station to switch it up. I don't mind pop on the radio while driving, although there's certain artists/types I don't care for (Drake, for example). Sometimes I'll go back to 90s alt rock for a bit too, as a change of pace.

Mmm tough question. Yes but it's a tough answer because you run into exploitation problems. If somebody is doing it because they actually want to, that's fine with me. But if they're being coerced by a significant other / acquaintance / family member it's obviously problematic.

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
I didn't miss it, I'm just having trouble coming up with 3 whole wishes! (That aren't of the "world peace" variety, because those are boring.)
We were living in separate states at the time, so she came in to visit for our anniversary. I made her dinner, then put up a video of the night sky on the TV (she likes stargazing) and we slow danced to a couple of her favorite songs, then I proposed.
Then (after we called parents and stuff) we watched like 3 hours of say yes to the dress.

(Is that weird? My last grandparent died when I was like 4 so I've never really known life with grandparents)

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
Ooh.
Honestly, probably that I'm not actually smart. That I know random trivia but when it comes to actually being intelligent and solving problems etc I'm actually not intelligent and can't do it and I'm just kinda floating along doing just enough to get by but not to excel.
It's more one of those "background existential dread" tyoe fears, not like "AAH SPIDER", but it's the first thing I thought of.

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
Hah nice! I like the idea of a future trade concrete promise. Got to play another game of Bohnanza this weekend... two of us tied for first, and the other two tied for third (or last). Enjoyed it though!nutella wrote: ↑Fri Mar 30, 2018 11:20 am Omg Bohnanza. The bean game. I've played it with my boyfriend's family and we have a house mechanic of "future beans" where you give someone a jelly bean as a promissory note for some future trade-off. Really changes how the trades work lol
I think I've played Innovation as well but don't really remember how it works

Best beer? I don't believe there is such a thing. Maybe my favorite is Velvet Hammer, from Peticolas in Dallas... but I have plenty of favorites.
Best Futurama episode is War is the H Word. (Hah you thought I'd say Jurassic Bark didn't you)
Already answered - no! And actually not especially.is your name actually bob? do you have a special affinity for the colonial period?

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
Of the ones I own, I really like Scythe, Roll for the Galaxy, Bohnanza, and Innovation. One of my friends has Star Trek: Ascendancy, and despite not caring much about Trek I love the game. I also like legacy games: I have a group that's playing through Charterstone, and I loved Pandemic Legacy. I also have several games I own that want to play more, and hopefully I'll get a chance soon!
I also saw your regret was joining Tau Beta Pi... I agree! I also joined for my resume, and also felt like I got zero out of it.

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
I'm a pretty laid back person in general, so my default mode is kind of content. Right now I'd say I'm somewhat less content than I've been in the past, but hopefully moving into a bigger place this summer will help (we moved from a rental house in Texas to a one-bedroom apartment here two years ago... and we're paying more in rent.

I think politician, because I have some strong opinions on how things should be done and think we could do a lot of things better. Unfortunately I think I'd be very frustrated by that career. If you had to choose one, would you rather be a politician, manual laborer, or clergy? Why?
Just like, my favorite things? Or things about myself I think are maybe interesting? I'll give you one of each for now:Are there any other favorite things no one has asked you about yet?
Favorite TV show: Futurama (all-time), The Good Place (current)
I'm a big beer connoisseur, although I wouldn't characterize myself as a snob. I tend to like darker styles more than hoppy IPAs.

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
It was a middle school nickname, actually, and I ended up adopting it as my internet pseudonym for reasons unknown even to me.
HCRealms is a website for a game called Heroclix, which I briefly played a few years ago. I saw the mafia section and it intrigued me, so I signed up, joined a game, and ended up loving it. I've never played in real life, though.wow! I would have imagined a lot longer. How did you get into online mafia? do you play it in real life too?I just checked, and I joined HCRealms (the original site I come from) on March 28, 2015... so almost exactly 3 years!
It's a collectible card game, sort of like Magic only way less popular. Way better community though.I have no idea what that is. What is that?My current main hobby is the Game of Thrones Card Game
also: fav character from GoT?
And hmm... I like the show's Tormund, and Jaime in the books is turning into a really interesting character, but overall I'm on team Arya.
Late 20s! And I'll see if I can figure out how to upload pics of him.ohhh any pics of Jake?Yep! This year will be our 5th anniversary. No kids yet, but we have a dog named Jake who sometimes demands our attention like a child. He can be very dramatic.
are you in your late 20s or early-mid 30s? I'd guess the latter.

Re: colonialbob - Interrogation Room
Oh boy, here we go!
(Word of warning, I'm traveling this weekend, so I may not respond much until Sunday. But I promise I will get to all the questions!)
Other than that, I enjoy boardgames and video games, currently mostly Stellaris. I also like pretty much any sport, although I don't play any nearly as much as I would like anymore.

Nope!is your name really Bob?
I'm an engineer. My degree is in aeronautical/aeronautical engineering, but my job is really more just mechanical engineering. I do work on things that go onto planes, though.what do you do for a living?
I currently live in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. I'm originally from Texas, and living here is... ok.where in the states do you live? are you originally from there? do you like living there?

My current main hobby is the Game of Thrones Card Game - I'm very involved in the online community there, and am actually the main community rules expert at the moment (doing things like FAQs for every new pack). I'm actually travelling to play that this weekend.apart from mafia, what are some things you do for fun?
