What do you like most about your country?

the amount of opportunity people have here relative to other places. the us gets a lot of shit nowadays but i benefited a lot from being here personally. being a person of color and trying to make it in another country woulda been much harder. (currently i'm in a //rut// but ya no, shit happens.) like even in canada i didn't have the opportunities i have here

not sure really. in the immediate future i wanna be an addiction counselor, so i'm starting classes for that in the fall. i was pre-med in college and then didn't get into medical school which.... ;__; i don't got the strength to try that again. i thought about getting a masters in social work but the cost vs reward isn't great unless i make it my long-term career.

nope :B i can have a super basic convo in japanese but that's about it. i never learned somali which is hella lame. idk my parents thought it wasn't worth learning and then i didn't try picking it up when i was older

i studied sociology. i actually came in as a molecular biology major but hated the lab component of the first class i took so i was like "alright im out." the next semester i took a sociology class to fulfill a requirement and i loved it so yeah. it was on social networks, which is ironic 'cause i don't got friends nor a life LOL. also it meant i had more flexibility in what i was gonna write for my thesis

i did case management straight outta school tho and h a t e d it, but i think it was job-specific.

i've been into comedy since '14, and i did improv until i graduated from college in '18. i was tryna find ways to do comedy on my own, which is how i got into stand up. i like making people laugh and defying their expectations of me before beginning my set. (i do morbid deadpan and i don't look like i should be into that, haha.) my favorite memory is when i did stand up at a talent show this past halloween. it was the best set i'd ever done.
