My towncore includes Sloonei, Vivax, Eloh and Kate.

Wilgy and sig are not in my PoE and I have town reads on them but if there's mafia who are not in my PoE, I think it's those two.

(And I spent far too long trying to work out why that didn't add up to 12 people).
Can you explain them with a sentence for each one?
I am mostly curious about me and Faraday.

Also I have Wilgy in my town core.

I believe in being accountable for how you vote and use an explanation, but I think it’s problematic (and this goes beyond myself, it’s problematic on a level of solving the game well), if people are discouraged for voting in ways that create pressure and the opportunity for mafia to show themselves, for me that’s a net negative to the town.
If Bea is outed wolf there is not much to say.
I play usually at MU where the day ends in most of the games when majority is reached. Often town forces the majj to end the day in such cases.
The MU hammers are not my favourite. But the last time I played there I was mafia and manipulated a couple of hammers to my ends to win.

There’s a philosophical thing going on here about the purpose of a vote that I find frustrating but it also feeds in to why I like non-changeable votes to begin with.
I never played with locked votes except lylo and I would probably adapt to it.
Seems less fun tbh

Golden, I saw you mentioned me upthread. You, of all players, in this specific game I thought would know I'm civ and would even guess my role. I think if you read the posts, you'll see that it's in there.

I actually think I'm the opposite. I feel more pressured to contribute as a baddie because I have teammates to look out for. I guess technically I do as a civ too, but it's less immediate.

Anyway, Scotty and G-Man are reading civ to me, mostly due to tone. DH, from what I've read, almost seems to want to die, and I'm getting the vibe that his recent posts are some kind of baddie ploy. I will put a vote on him for now, in the absence of strong reads on anyone else yet.
DF gives G-man an unsubstantiated town read, along with Scotty. He cites "tone" for each of them. Okay then.

Another promise post, and then a post in which he says that LoRab's tone reminds him of her past baddie tone and he votes for her. That's it. Four posts. @DFaraday Now that you are not cursed, can you point to a few of LoRab's posts that led you to the wrong conclusion about her tone meta? DF is about as inconclusive as it gets. With no real room for null reads at this point, I have to put him in my poe. It's not because I find him suspicious, but because I have no reason to townclear him based on his content thus far.

Votes: Missed D1, LoRab D2
This is what struck me as defensive baddie:
LoRab wrote: Fri Oct 28, 2022 6:20 pm You know what I love--players telling me how I should play the game. Seriously. It's my favorite. Almost as much as when people say that civvies deserved to be lynched.

I wish I were bad--I find being bad much easier, but here we are. I'm civ. I wish I were able to help the civvies win.

If I'm lynched, go after Kate and Bea next. Scotty isn't making me feel great. Llama may also be a baddie--I keep going back and forth on him. And Dr Wilgy needs to stop licking people and hiding behind his goofiness--it is making me increasingly suspect him.
To me it almost came across like trying to garner sympathy, but I was obviously wrong about that.

I also now see that SVS replaced DH. That makes me feel much less confident in my baddie ploy theory.
G-man asks DF to justify his LoRab vote, and DF responds with a direct citation. Solid response. DF's response to G here tells me very little, but (as I said in my previous post), I think G-man's treatment of him here looks like a mafioso in search of more "suspects" to push.
Spoiler: show
DFaraday wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 7:50 pm I don't suspect either G-Man or Sloonei, and I won't be able to read the cases on them before the vote closes, so I will go ahead and move my vote to Michelle, on the grounds that I feel less town about her than anyone else really. As in, nothing has stood out as civ.
DF abstains from yesterday's vote because he suspects neither of the two main candidates. Fine. His town read on G-man is at least consistent, although he never quite articulated why it existed. This is not the worst, but there is nothing in DF's posts that counts as "good" either. Inconclusive.
I pretty much play based on vibes and tone unless it's a small game or I've made it to the late game. I've never been one for ISOs and data analysis, even when I had the time.

And I didn't abstain from the vote. I voted third party. :noble:

Image
Voting third party is not clearing anyone because from mafia pov they are not teammates.
Because so many are saying you sound civvie I am thinking at it and I am waiting for something from you to make me find my own read.
I don't trust self meta, I was burned by this countless times.

@Elohcin Walk me through why you think Sheepers are more likely to be mafia and what your current thoughts are on the more sheepy players please.
First of all, sheeping is a new term to me. When I was told what it meant, it sounded to me like lazy play. "Oh, I trust so-and-so, so I'm going to go and vote who they vote." So early in the game, that is ridiculous. Unless you have civvie BTSC with that person you trust, you cannot know for sure if the person you are trusting is civ. A few days into the game, and it is still risky. Late in the game, even if you have info on a person, it still LOOKS like bad behavior, like you are just being lazy and jumping on a train, even if the train just has an engine and a caboose and you are the caboose. Like I said in my first posts about this, I think all players should read the thread and make up their own minds. It's okay to agree with someone and vote like they do, we all do that all the time. You agree with them because you read and accessed the situation yourself. But to blindly follow someone's vote just because you think you can trust them is silly and lazy. No one would have gotten away with that back in the day and they shouldn't now.
I hear you- I find it very difficult to ever have a mindset of sheeping, but as devils advocate, I can say sheeping can be both lazy and productive. If you are feeling not confident in your reads, and do have trust in a civ player that is taking charge, perhaps it’s not a terrible idea to just vote there. Lazy? Yes. But an uninformed faith vote is more productive than a vanity vote for a 3rd wagon that means nothing in a game where town’s only real weapon is the vote.
Okay, I can see your point, esp about the vote being the only real town weapon. But, how can you be sure you are following the right wagon/person?
Only in that if I haven’t been following along and previously trusted a player or two, follow the leads of those player might be the best move you’ve got.

Lazy -and- productive
This is correct :nicenod:

Sadly we need to get correct townreads on a wavelength to stop that erratic behaviour from being normalized and that‘s hard to do when some of which a part has to be town are barely playing.
Who would you say you trust most at the moment aka who is in your town core? I see the tinfoil on Sloonei leading us astray.
Mostly I trust flipped civvies :>

Realistically there‘s three wagons present and we‘d want a conformation that forces the febs hands.

I assure you that Sloonei voting me doesn‘t further that goal. I am not advocating to lim him today, but I have a strong suspicion he‘s not going to get NKd.

As opposed to Sloonei I‘m working with the wagons we have now. Or trying to.
Yeah I agree that Sloonei isn’t a top priority today, but I can succinctly say that flipping him would help the solve.

A lot.
Whot's yeir ruod fer Sleenua?
He says words. His first 2 days were entirely forgettable and often even shruggy. Last night and today he started doing deep dives into ISOs which is more patented civ Sloonei, but here we are towards the end of the day, and he is currently sitting on Vivax, who wasn’t even on his radar for the day (at least outwardly)…for the lols.

He is someone I distinctly don’t trust but also distinctly am not crazy about immediately voting off the island in case I’m just totally wrong. I know civ sloonei is strong for town. I’ll give it one more day before I start pressing F for doubt.

A lot.

Why are here only 2 votes?

Is everyone else in weekend trip? O.o
Keeping in mind this is 12 hours into Day 2, so first, this question isn’t really that pertinent, and second, coming from someone seemingly not paying attention, she seems concerned about votes.

THIS post was made a few posts later after having that exchange with Wilgy

So let me get this progression right:
-‘I am here, reading the current post and responding to whatever it is’
-‘Why is no one voting?’
-‘oh no, splints is dead’

I’ve waffled a lot just in dissecting this, but what this really comes down to is (and I’ve played multiple games with Michelle but my memory is bad concerning how she ‘normally’ behaves as town)
-Does Town Michelle really jump in to a thread and start engaging with it without looking at the start of day to see…rules/restrictions/deaths/info from the host post?

If yes, then I think her posts look just fine. Her progression is there, and this case is a nothingburher (mmmm)
If not, then Michelle is making some weird attempts at being in the thread and is scummy.

Re: Anniversary Game 1 - Classic Syndicate [Day 2]

Hi again, I walked today a lot, visiting the town after we finally reached our destination.
Poland is beautiful in autumn, the leafs have all possible colours and the weather is perfect.

Now i only skimmed and I don't have time to make a solid opinion myself
I think the best option is to sheep someone but idk who. We don't have a consensus but this is not bad per se

After my interaction with drW I still think he is town, and i understand he is voting Sloonei because Fingers suspected Sloonei. Please correct me if i am wrong

I know I had Bea as town and I had a town read for llama but I forgot why. I can reread and find out mondqy.

If we think at NKA, Sloonei can be mafia who killed Fingers but also can be town framed by the kill

@Sloonei is voting me because allegedly I should be more active. This is weak, why are you doing this? I didn't find any question from you and also I was AFK.

If I stop posting means I am sleeping, hopefully I can be up for eod to find a vote

1. I feel that when I was younger my gameplay was very much shortbread in style. Others may be able to comment on this better than I.

2. Idk. What do you think it means?

3. It's not that bad, it's only cheddar.
1. Looking forward for input from the others then!

2. An attempt to read probably?

You consider making a VC post as civ behavior? Just to be clear what you're saying here.
Yes, you are correct
Wouldn't it make equally as much sense that a NON civ made one? Whether for informational purposes, to gain favor with the thread in general or, most importantly, to appear civ?

You’re one of the most active posters and don’t even have a strong suspect.

See, here’s the rub. Unfortunately, as one of Syndicate’s champions from Champs a few years ago, you have a huge precedent. Whether or not it’s fair, I think there’s a high expectation of you. If you’re town, you’re bound to be a valuable asset down the stretch.

I’m just not getting that spark that I expect.

You being here at end of day while you’re the top wagon is frustrating, but not offering a worthwhile alternative is just not a great solution either :shrug2:
I don't think the best vote is Sloonei D1 but you made a pretty strong case
