expecting to be ridiculed for this but i'm starting to think mac is just wolfing
see more reasons to think he's scum than to think he's town
pursuing the policy chop angle is weak and i'm not just saying that because kaz is a long-term pal in good standing of mine.

Re: Traitors for Exile
This is exactly why I did not care for The Godfather.MacDougall wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 11:40 pmThat is to say that while I do believe people will be predisposed to solving, including each traitor, we need to encourage and force a threadstate that insists upon it, and do away with all of the chaff ruthlessly, and force the traitors to actually help us kill each other by genuinely solving or outing themselves trying to kill obvious town players.MacDougall wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 11:36 pmYou are overthinking it. The fact is that everyone in this game is inclined to genuinely solve, therefore the thread consensus is >rand compared to usual. Therefore exeing counterwagons is also >rand compared to usual because the thread sentiment is more accurate. Use the hive mind. It's multiball mafia theory and it works, trust me.Gira wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 11:19 pmeh, the general theory behind wagonomics is that scum position themselves tactically based on the alignment of dueling wagons, here they aren't informed of their teammates so they can't do that, meaning that trying to guess where traitors are positioned on wagons is useless. the idea that someone got wagoned and is therefore likely to flip scum seems a bit of a fallacy? the masses are wrong all the time, on most sites people are no better than random on day 1 wagonsMacDougall wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:53 pmNot here they aren't. We haven't got much else empirical to work with so lower percentage things become more valuable. I think KZA has a good chance to be a wolf just simply for having been run up. If a bunch of people who were all realsolving (keep in mind that's occurring here, it's no different than multiball in that sense) all sort of coalesced on KZA, then it's pretty strong. Wisdom of the crowd is a big time tell here.Gira wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:48 pmwagonomics are irrelevant thoMacDougall wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 9:42 am The only thing that chop tells us is that giving zero fucks is in people's town range. We probably should kill KZA technically because clearing day 1 c/ws is usually a good play. Definitely not exiling him.
Exile Wiml imo.
If town really wants to win that game, the simplest method is to put in effort and create a threadstate that is anti-bullshit. I know I contributed heavily to the bullshit day 1, but I really wasn't ready to start the game when it started so I was kinda being a direspectful turd. Having had a chance to think about it sitting on my ass in a chair as opposed to half asleep with a phone hanging out of my hand, I realise that was anti-town of me and I intend not to do it anymore.
Strategy to win this game: Force everyone to realsolve. The wisdom of the crowd will be strong in this game. Trust the consensus. Force everyone to share their reads. Stamp out bullshit and make it a very serious and unfun game.
That's our path to victory here.
all that being said it's nightless so i don't give a crap if he dies at some point
That is why if KZA follows through with his plan to just oppose my strategy, and especially given he was a d1 c/w. He can just die.
In this particular strategy, if a town decides to gamethrow, and have no better strategy, fuck them. I'll just policy not sign up to games they sign up to in future because it's straight up throwing.
If you want to argue with the validity of the strategy and follow your own positive proactive strategy that's fine. But "fuck Mac, I'm gonna just be an anti-town cockhead" is policy lynch for me here and starting right now.

this is town kaz:
https://www.mafiauniverse.com/forums/th ... ost3945425
blunt & straight-shooting. maybe not usually gonna come up and say outright mean stuff to people before he's really frustrated, but there's always an aspect of wit and telling-it-as-it-is that i'm not really seeing. he's asking questions and not giving a follow-up, basically just doing busywork of his own elect. i'll reconsider if he shoots me down on this but right now i am thinking he might legit be wolfing imo.

Re: Traitors for Exile
give me a second. i saw this a few minutes ago and was going to look through a town game of his just to make sure i haven't lost my memory of his meta (it's been a while since we've played together and i have a genuinely bad memory). but compared to what i remember from him he feels stilted compared to his usual self. i feel like he's trying to mimic towny behaviour, pocket people with a list that lists safe takes as town and then has the majority of the game in one tier that he says could be chopped without actually pointing the finger directly at one in particular. (does kaz give 1st round lists if he's town? i don't think so. actually thought he was someone who considered 1st round lists stupid.) weighed on a scale/balance of probabilities i think his takes are more likely inorganic than organic if i give them the tone/gut test.
but yeah i'll review an earlier game(s) of his before saying this is all fact. maybe i've just forgotten his meta, or maybe he's playing differently because his metas evolved.
i still think independently of the meta aspects of the read he's done some scummy stuff and doesn't exactly radiate trustworthiness in meaningful effect.

i'd say much to most of it is tone, some of it is that beyond the tone you just don't seem as easygoing as usualKZA wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 10:06 pmAre you finding me scummy or is it mostly a difference in tone you're picking up?
fwiw I understand why I might attract this kind of read when I come in and play focused, TSP had similar thoughts on me in Fargo where I flipped town
well I'm cozying up even harder because of posts like this
what sparked that post in particular was the list you posted. it felt like it was crafted to be offensive to the fewest amount of players as possible. it didn't have outright egregious or bad takes but it also didn't really inspire anything

Re: Traitors for Exile
you have some really good insights and sincere-sounding AtE but then you keep sandwiching it between lines that seem prototypically wolf.MissSparkles wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 5:36 pmIt’s just he’s comparing apples to oranges, so i’m like well this isn’t a fair take on me when you don’t know me and he’s applying what he would do unto me, so i’m like ehhh.Wiml wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 5:29 pmI understand your concern (it's why I asked for a clarification on the read on you in particular: I had a similar wariness to you about the read, although I thought 112's entrance was towny overall).MissSparkles wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 5:01 pmWhat did you really think about his input? Be honest, i might be biased based on knowing i’m town so I want you too weigh in.Wiml wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 4:22 pmThanks! There's not much I can add to this but I appreciate your clarification.112 wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 4:15 pm @Wiml MissS is forcing every post. trying really hard to look involved and contributing right off the starting line. she's talking more than there are things to talk about. i take her as scum who really wants to have a good scum game this time.
tbh some of the read comes down to me seeing my own scum game in her right now. she's playing like i do when i'm geared up for a long wolf game.
Doesn’t it feel like a scum read just for the sake of it and to be different/offer an alternative thought to my playstyle so I don’t continue getting town reads and become a problem for the traitors? Traitors can’t kill off correct universal town reads in this game and I was only getting town reads before he brought about his “suspicions”.
Still more confident in Cat, but it’s definitely something to think about considering if he is a Traitor there’s no doubt he doesn’t also think Cat is too.
After reading the response, I honestly don't have much to respond about the validity of the points said there but I think the thought process behind the read seems pretty genuine (from the comparison to past scum games as well as the small amount of narrative building which is something I find comes as a result of genuine solving more often than not) and I can see how 112 could realistically think that you were going for a look towny -> powerwolf strategy.
I think particularly the line "she's talking more than there are things to talk about" reminds me of my last wolf game and how purposefully overactive I was and I can understand this point in particular coming from a town who is relatively paranoid at seeing a player possibly setting themself up to try to go deep.
So tl;dr I think the explanation is fine!
I’m generating things to talk about is a lot more accurate and engaging numerous players is a much fairer assessment on my play rn.
Like i’m not just talking for the sake of it i’m actively prodding people, putting people in action, offering reads and my own take things.
Sure this works better in a game scum know who each other are, but I’m not gonna change the way I play based on own game, especially not when I’m pretty confident I have scum.
a few posts above you said you're "used to it" and i'm not totally sure what you meant. i mean you probably meant that you're often misread when town, but i've seen people get flustered, say something like this and ultimately flip red when they've been caught too many times consecutively. it's low-quality AtE at best and i don't see why you'd feel the need to drop it in the thread if you're town.
then further back you're like "knowing i'm town n all" as if making a point of expressing what each of your posts should naturally imply. i don't see the reason to note it.
also i don't like how you're talking in some places as if it's obvious that you're town/people should be reading you town. it seems like you're trying to evaluate your own place in the threadstate/collective consciousness which only wolves usually do tbh
like i'm probably not going to vote for you, it's early in the round lol. but you do seem flustered like i said.

It would be easier in my first scum game on a new site too just lay low especially in a game with no NK.
Again feels fake and just trying to push the envelope, stopping the vocal towny by placing doubt.
