Well the last three people I cleared off timestamp reads didn't replicate it in their scum games so I'm still gonna trust it. I will be using timestamp reads until I get burned for them and it's been 4 years and I haven't.

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 3]
I think Creature's EODs have been really townie, and the way he snapped at someone accusing him (can't remember who) and said that anyone voting him is scumclaiming because he's obvious town off EOD1 is a burst of aggression and entitlement I think is a lot more likely to come from town Creature.NateTheLesser wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 4:09 pm Putting this vote down for now:

My top suspect is still Fingersplints for the same reasons as yesterday, with the additional point that Seanzie was pushing her for a time yesterday and is now dead. But I also want some more heat on Creature. I know a few people have voiced a townread, so I'm interested in hearing more about whether it's because he's playing to his town meta or something more than that.

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 3]
JJJ/Ender has blown up with surprising speed and ferocity and I am struggling to understand why in the absence of a clear catalyst. You've both made it clear that you have gripes with the other's posting and it's more than just Seanzie's death, but in actually explaining your reads, you both tend towards generalities like "they're not cohesively town solving" and "their posts continue to be fake". Neither of you seemed particularly interested in attacking the other yesterday and now within 2 pages we have a thunderdome.
Can the both of you briefly describe what your thoughts were on the other person yesterday and how they evolved to such harsh reads today?

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 3]
This isn't a horrible readslist. I would put Dizzy lower but it seems like you are re-evalling him anyway. I think Creature is town too but for slightly different reasons - he showed up at two EODs where a town LHF was run down and spent the entire time bitching and whining about how we're getting it wrong when he could have just sat there, voteparked falcon/Wilgy and started eating popcorn if he was scum.EnderWiggin wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:29 am Lemme just do a quick sort:

JaggedJimmyJay
EnderWiggin
Note: This is not a thorough rereading, just wanted to get my current state of the game thoughts into thread.
My Dizzy D1 read will have to be re-evalled. I can't hold that one just because I think I have meta. I will not lie that I am pre-disposed to thinking town. Will appreciate other reads.
Creature is not a slot I think we should care about today. If he is scum then he's on the back of several other good scum but I honestly think EOD1 is just kinda clearing for him.
Boq is my blind spot and the fact that he was the first one to bring up the JJJ/Him/Alison probable wolf is just browny points and I love it.
How confident are you on your Rondo read?

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 3]
I agree with Boq that JJJ/Boq were the two most likely shot targets for mafia to make last night. (As he says, I don't think I'd be shot because I had some sus on me, and those two had none.) There are two main possibilities in my mind:lucy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 4:00 amI thought the kill directly points to you, by keeping you and Alison alive it makes it confirmed one is mafia or you'd be killed off more expeditiously before a solve can happen
1) JJJ/Boq has a mafia in it.
2) Seanzie was tunnelling a mafia and was killed for his reads.
If it is 1), I'd say it's more likely to be JJJ. If it's 2), it's probably Ender.
I have limited time today and will likely be focusing on those two + fingersplints as my priority investigations.

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 2]
Here's where I stand. Treat this as my legacy, too, as I will have to go for breakfast soon.
I continue to townread Boquise, lucy, JJJ and Marmot. I didn't like lucy's response to Seanzie and Marmot accusing her, because it felt like she was falling apart a little, but her recent posts have been decent. My read on the other three hasn't changed.
I townread Wilgy at the start of today, but it feels like he has fallen off a little and is coasting a bit on my townread of him. I realize it is close to EOD, and I don't think I'd vote him today, but I expect to see more from him tomorrow.
Creature has looked good to me today; not blindingly townie, but he's had his share of townie moments in his contributions. I feel pretty okay about him.
Seanzie has towntold quite a bit today and his pushes feel scattered (jumping from suspicion to suspicion) in a way that I associate with his town play. I don't have any concerns there.
I don't scumread Nate any more - I was worried he didn't really seem to care about his pushes or the gamestate, but he's explained it as not feeling the need to really push hard because everyone seems to hop on the wagons he makes. I believe him, I've had similar feelings myself in the past, and others have placed his play this game as being compatible with his town meta. Also I liked his analysis on fingersplints' falcon vote.
Rondo continues to be a fountain of chaos and essentially live Mac vouching for him + the fact that I don't think he would kill Mac. I wouldn't vote him today, I think, but my patience is fast running out. I don't really want him at endgame, and he's not contributing meaningfully. I don't even know what his scumreads are.
I continue to suspect fingersplints: see my case above.
Ender and Dizzy haven't really done much to redeem themselves since I initially stated intent to push them. Ender basically went "so vote me then" and then dipped. Dizzy has produced more content since, but his push on me doesn't make sense to me and he's expressed nervousness/fear about my reaction to it in a way I have never seen him do when he is town pushing me. I suspect that he was afraid I'd come in and obvtown it up and he'd eat the backlash in a bad way. Both of them remain squarely in my POE.

So expectations I don't know why you would have. All the words are kind of unnecessary tbh

I'd expect a troll who really wanted me to attack them to at least tease or bait me once or twice, but you've mostly ignored me, even in the face of constant provocation (ie. me talking about you a bunch).RondoDimBuckle wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 10:19 pmBecause I am a giant troll and love when I can elicit an emotional reaction from people. Such complete unnecessary construction of bs.
So I'm interested in Alison now.![]()

I would. Do you think I wouldn't go after textbook scummy behavior as town?
not sure, which is why i have asked around tbh. I dont know your level of nuance when making your reads tbh

Also, I think your point about Fingersplints (that she would have known as wolf that you were widely townread yesterday) is a fair one. Was there more to it than that or is that enough for you to townlean?

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 2]
I mean it depends on the quality of the playerlist. Champs finales are going to have much less town trolling than the average anime forum casual game. This playerlist has a high quality, and Dizzy and Ender in specific are town players I respect, and who should know better than this.Boquise wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 6:04 pmoh you are awake!Alison wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 5:59 pmI have played with townies who play in anti-town ways. Ender's continued refusal to explain his reads hits the same notes for me. I am struggling to understand why they would approach the game like this if they are town.
Have you not played with town playing suboptimally for their faction before tbh?
hmmmm
i hard disagree on them being much rarer than wolves. Otherwise town's win rate in champs would be upside down tbh
Regardless of those considerations, if for whatever reason someone insists on being stubbornly anti-town and refuses to budge, I have no qualms in removing them from the game. They could easily be scum, and even if they're town, we don't lose much. I certainly wouldn't want them around in endgame.
(I see Dizzy has opened up a bit more since I originally made that post; I'm explaining my general philosophy towards people who openly do anti-town things.)

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 2]
I get the impression that you know Rondo well and in the past you have taken the lead on attempts to read Rondo because of this. Does it bother you at all that you've been essentially null reading him for most of the game?EnderWiggin wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 10:33 amThere's not a huge amount to talk about with Rondo. He has a lot of content you can probably read past and will do things just to poke buttons without believing in it a whit.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 6:34 am Rondo's posts are chaos.
I struggle to find concordant processes or threads of thinking to interpret; everything is kaleidoscopic and inscrutable. @RondoDimBuckle you're the only one that can help me to change that, unless anyone else here knows you well and is willing to talk about it (Hi, EnderWiggin). As it stands, I don't think I town read this slot. While the immense activity is great, it's also chaos.
I've only ever seen him wolf irl so I don't know how much of it works in forum mafia, but in irl he likes to make it difficult to link him and his partners together, especially when it comes to drawing attention to himself. He's saved partners purely by making himself more suspicious.

I'd say I have an average read on Creature. I've been right; I've been wrong. I tend to POE more often than not, but I think most people do because of the way he plays.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 6:13 am @Alison Do you read Creature well, or am I misremembering?

This is pretty much a TWTBAW read and I don't really buy those arguments.Boquise wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 3:16 amMostly basing it on experience.
There really isn't a town motivation for it, which is the key. Scum knows that and knows that people suspect them if they withhold information. Town can imo play in a more "selfish" (for the lack of better words) manner tbh
I think Ender should be pushed still because my experience takes aren't 100% tbh

Re: Halvøsen Ridge [DAY 2]
The only point of hesitation for me is the fact that she looked weirdly uninformed about the Boquise thing. But I don't think it's clearing - maybe scum chat is dead, maybe she checks scum chat as infrequently as she checks the main thread (which would make sense if she's busy IRL), maybe she's just savvy enough to fake a derp clear. She did fool us all in Fargo.
It's not enough to make me pull back from voting her.
