I'm detached from the game and probably not catching up because I'm multitabling like five games and my finals week just started. I'm probably dying tonight but in case I don't can someone cliffsnotes mech stuff

I know Michelle green checked ted, and I see TSP flipped green. By default I'm going to vote park Al unless someone has green checked there too.

Roles seem to be linked to flavor to at least some degree. Peggy and Ed are masons, I can order my troopers around, etc.

You are correct that it does sound broken.

ok look if I get soupkilled then you should assume that the troopers are all town (until given reason to believe otherwise) and that the soupkill was meant to stop massclaiming from happening. if I don't get soupkilled then maybe there's a baddie in the troopers and we'll play it safe.

so as far as we can tell, good guys get good-guy-flavored roles and bad guys get bad-guy-flavored roles with good-guy-flavored safeclaims.

doesn't this imply that the troopers are good guys?

Let's talk about the dynamic between Strawhenge and Michelle.

I read it as two players whose playstyles grate against each other, but ultimately they're both villager. Does anyone else have thoughts about this? Those two have been quietly going at it hammer and tongs in the background while we talk about other stuff.

If you're villager the game doesn't end when you die. It's your responsibility as a villa to produce good reads to help the town win after you're gone. Being scumread is annoying. We've all been there. You acknowledge that there is a risk you will be the top suspect at one point or another when you sign up for a game of mafia. Suck it up and play the game. Otherwise you're letting your personal emotions get in the way of your win con.

ted can I be blunt with you?

Unless you reveal as innocent child or something similar there is very little that you can do at this point to convince the town that their suspicion of you is wrong. You've been doing this self defense stuff since Night 1 and nobody has been swayed. If you are town, the best way to play to your win condition is to just hunt like a normal person, and leave a strong legacy for town to sheep. People in the POE always have better reads because they have a free cop check on themselves. So if you are town use that to your advantage and give us strong reads to fall back on after you die rather than struggling against an outcome that won't change.

He did say that yes. I have no doubt it is well within his scum range to do, but it is a point to consider.

I think the way Sloonei had a read on nook early and then held it until he was more sure is townie. I also believe that it is a real thought he had and that he did not make it up on the spot. If he is wolf it is not with nanook. But if he is wolf I think he would have just outed the read early for free townpoints from Jay who would see him doing solvey stuff.

Based on testimony from Hally and Sloonei I am comfortable treating nanook as a clear mafia suspect. However I still think ted, TSP and al sama have been scummier. Perhaps he can fight over whether LC or himself should be exed after those three are resolved.

To put it bluntly nanook is POE'd because of bad associatives with Marmot and based on the way he's playing this game he's unlikely to ever escape it unless his role helps him do so. He is a lesser priority than the "nuke these mfers now" tier because his posting hasn't been as scummy and because he's not actively trying to cause chaos or derail the thread. I know nanook isn't exactly slanking but he sort of fills the same archetype as a slanking POE slot right now.

Also if someone gets vigged it should be Al sama and not Dom. Dom is hard null because a total absence of content usually points towards extenuating real life circumstances rather than anything alignment indicative. Al sama has shown up it's just that all the things he's done in the thread have been scummy af.

I believe Michelle's stubbornness to be within her village meta.
