Ok, so basically guillos "case" is that I should have recognized that michelle was wolfing based entirely off of her post count, and while it is true that michelle posts lower as wolf than she does as town the shot yesterday was a gut feeling and meta application more than it was deductive reasoning to arrive at michelle is a wolf. Guillo saying "HK is wolf because he didn't make the gut call I did" is lame and wrong.

I read zero about the set up when i signed up for it. Zero when it begun.

There is when i realized that i fucked up by signing up for a game that is not really mafia, that i'm being forced to let Nanook decide for me who is the chop and that on top of that, I have to protect him or we auto lose. And then all of that math talk… like, im here to play mafia… but im not and i still dont know what im supposed to do at night so im just gonna protect Nanook until i die cause that is simple enough

I'm looking at this game like it's mafia, just that Nanook is the person who's got the ability to cast the only real vote in the game. It's still on me to help find trash pandas, protect my townies, and be town myself. I just don't have the authority to remove someone from the game. Doesn't mean my contribution isn't meaningful.

I'll try to articulate then.
You have a tendency D1 to be fluffy and go with the flow regardless of what you rand, but more so when you're not town. Not because you're bad at trying to fit in and get things going as a wolf, you're a scary wolf, but because it's an easy way for you to blend with the crowd and scrape a few town reads.

When you're town you're more focused on what's going on because I feel it's important to you. Your early posts here were more focused than fluffy and there is a tone in them that seems pure to me. You have an early post talking about several different people that doesn't feel faked, and your next post, where you discuss mech, you conclude with a reminder that we need to find the trash pandas when most people were content to let their mech posts stand as is. You're reminding us that there's a team of baddies that we do need to find.

If you're a trash panda here there's no reason you need to add that last little coda to your post, you can just talk about mech like most everyone else was doing.

I dunno, that's a long winded way of saying "I think you're town because reading your posts makes me feel good about you" as opposed to "I think you're a trash panda because reading your posts makes me concerned about you"

Nanook is a good wolf hunter

This is the worst case scenario and I doubt it will be like this, so we should do this every day depending on the flips to check the gamestate.

I think defending Nanook and scumhunting in the classic way should bring us the win

like ok, I play and host a LOT of secret hitler, which is very similar to this type of setup. You've got a team with knowledge and you've got a team with numbers.

The team with numbers wins by keeping the team with knowledge out of the pool of government. We've already accomplished that with having a Red Panda to lead us. We aren't making decisions at the end of the day other than where and when to protect. It's not on us specifically to "remove" another player from the game.

In SH you also don't get to remove, you have to use social/thread pressure to freeze the badguys out of the game.

Where it differs is that we aren't voting on governments here so there's no real track record of who's onboard with things or not, but what we do have is semi-traditional wolf hunting. We've started that already with potential wagons on DDL, Michelle, and NAA.

Now that there's some votes cast we can talk about those votes, see who's onboard and who's not, and why, and go from there. eventually this will give us a pool not only to remove from, but also to not worry about protecting, which allows us to focus our protections better on those who are going to need it.

My point here is this: It's smart for both teams to at least appear to be in step with The Plan so we can't scum hunt by looking at people who are opposed to the plan. What we have to do is look at tonally how they're supporting the plan, who appears to be approaching things straight vs with agenda, and that kind of thing.

Like most games today is a crap shoot but tomorrow we'll have knowledge on who defended the removed player should they be a raccoon, or who was pushing them should they be a giant panda.

tl;dr I think michelle is fine for now even at low posting.

creature has the right of this btw. Yes there's mech to be concerned with but more importantly there's trash pandas to find and eliminate and while we're mostly talking about mech we do need to start figuring out how to talk about alignments.

Trash Pandas win when they kill nanook. We win when they're all gone. Obvs it makes sense to have some amount of protection going on nanook every night, and we have the saves to do it. As the game goes on there'll be people less likely to be pandas, we don't save them.

What we don't do is play games with how we're saving. Conservative play here I think makes the most sense. On even nights we need 2 people on nanook, odd nights only one. There should be nights where some pandas don't save at all.

yeah, absolutely. So what we ought to do is create groups of 4. We shouldn't create these groups till like 20ish hours or so have elapsed in the game day so that we'll have some kinds of reads, but we create groups of 4.

Odds are very low we'll ever have more than 1 trash panda in a group, if we make them well. Then we assign groups to protect each night.

So say G1 is me, you, creature, guillo. we assign G1 to protect N1. We'll tell G1 people "at two of you protect nanook tonight. Then we have to trust that we've hit 2 townies in the group and they protect.

There's a lot of trust involved but it's basically a secret hitler variant where you've just got to get to a circle of trusted players ASAP and then work with those trusted players to do the protecting. Likewise we need to continually add trusted players to the groups so that we keep nanook protected.

Since we're not dealing with majority votes to eliminate during the day we don't really have to worry about things like parity, as long as there's more town than trash we should be fine.

I'm sure I'm missing shit but tihs is the basic idea I came up with.

there's 40 saves vs the trash pandas. N1they get 1 kill. N2 they get 2. This pattern repeats.

Trash Pandas win when they kill nanook. We win when they're all gone. Obvs it makes sense to have some amount of protection going on nanook every night, and we have the saves to do it. As the game goes on there'll be people less likely to be pandas, we don't save them.

There will be people more likely to be pandas, we save them.

What we don't do is play games with how we're saving. Conservative play here I think makes the most sense. On even nights we need 2 people on nanook, odd nights only one. There should be nights where some pandas don't save at all.
