Thanks for the game! @G-Man. I admire the effort you put into your flavor and setting the tone of your games.

Re: Mafia (DAY 6)
I like the idea of 30-post per phase games being a thing, but that's only if everyone can get close to hitting it. Like if the post cap was 50 or 75 for instance, would that make people that post 10/30 or 15/30 have an increase? I dunno

We have 7 players left. Possibilities are 2 mafia 5 town or 3 mafia 4 town.
If we lynch another town today, we might be in trouble.
If scirrus is mafia as we suspect, who would be e teammates. Poison? KZA? Enrique? Both KZA and Enrique have some lynch manipulation so we might be in trouble. Really hoping it’s poison and scirrus and that’s it

Who has expressed thoughts that come from mafia?
KZA has also been just riding the wave, not really stirring things up, and linki tells me he just back to say that i should be voted just because I got a kill on someone, right after Enrique suggested I be killed
Only other person i'm really suspicious of is JJJ but he's "townier" than the other two. I felt that some of his suspicion on me throughout the game has been fake and inorganic, especially when he had a notable strong town read on me early on. And some thoughts seem not quite as fleshed out as I would guess. A little too much deferring to mechanics over behavioral reading. I mostly have this read because I consider him very skilled but yeah. It is what it is.

The newly elected board members stormed down the hallway of the township building in pursuit of the Lenker brothers. The angry voices of their fellow homeowners echoed out the meeting room doors and down the hall.
The meeting had been a total shit show, which wasn’t too far from the norm for the Lenkers, but this was a new low. They came prepared to pull a fast one at light speed, and their lawyer certainly made that possible. It wouldn’t have surprised them if this was how they dealt with all of the neighborhoods they swindled into existence. The Lenkers’ lawyer knew all the tricks of parliamentary procedure and moved the transition of governance of Piano Estates over to the homeowners in exactly 17 minutes and 12 seconds.
The greedy property management representative, who they would later learn was a cousin of the Lenker boys, seemed to take glee in raising his price every time someone interjected during his three minutes. He priced himself out of the market quickly and also lit a fire under the homeowners to push through a half-assed election of officers that was both contentious and controversial. Nobody felt good about how things went down, and the new board was going to make sure the Lenkers knew that before they could slither off into the night for good.
“Just what in the hell was that you just pulled?” one of the board member yelled at the Lenkers as they climbed into the overcompensating oversized pickup trucks.
“A business transaction,” Corey Lenker replied from the safety of his truck.
“Our lawyer has copies of all the necessary documents for you,” Justin Lenker replied. “Maybe you should go back inside and start reading them.”
“Maybe I should drag you out of that truck and kick your ass right here in the parking lot, you beady-eyed piece of shit,” another board member shouted. To be fair, both Lenker brothers were indeed beady-eyed pieces of shit.
“Look,” Corey Lenker said, “we’re sorry about the abruptness of all this, but we have no choice. We want out and we’ve sold more than enough of the required homes in Phase 3 to execute our rights as developers.”
There was a curious look in Corey’s pale eyes. For the first time, the board members saw none of the usual calculation and scheming they were accustomed to. This was the look of raw fear.
“Why?” someone shouted. “Just tell us why so suddenly and help us understand.”
“I’ll tell you why,” Corey replied.
“Corey, don’t” Justin interjected.
“We’re out because it’s not safe for us anymore.”
“Corey, shut up,” Justin barked.
“What the hell does that mean?” asked someone else.
“We don’t need to be mixed up with the mob, okay?”
“God dammit Corey,” Justin screamed.
“The mob?” someone laughed. “Really?”
“Yeah,” Corey sneered. “Some of you assholes have connections that we want nothing to do with.”
“Who told you that?” another board member asked.
“Word gets around, Corey said. “Developers compete but we also talk to each other. Everybody has connections and we’ve got wind of some of the people we’ve sold to. We’re out, now good night.” He rolled his window up and started his truck.
“Oh now you shut your fat face,” Justin groaned.
Three of the board members stepped in front of Justin’s truck, just in case he was thinking of taking off suddenly. He could be the reasonable one, if you applied the right amount of pressure.
“And what are we supposed to do about this information?” someone asked him. “You know word will get around. People are going to panic and turn on each other.”
“I’ll offer you this,” Justin said. “Anyone buying a home with an HOA is bound to the covenants, by-laws, and use restrictions whether they read them or not. End of story.”
“What does that mean?”
“Go read your covenants and pay special attention to page 37. There’s a little something in there that might help you when you sort out who’s who. Good night folks and good luck.”
The board members stepped away, not satisfied but aware that the Lenkers would be of no more use to them this evening. Their trucks pulled away, growling with all the overpowered diesel fury that money could buy to cover up their insecurities.
“Now what?” someone asked.
“Let’s get reading.”

I'm honestly of the opinion that their being no factional kill is most likely.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 10:39 pm I'll think about this silly nonsense for a while. I am most likely to vote Enrique or Poison.
This is especially annoying as it doesn't even affirm anything about mafia numbers (if mafia exist). 4:3 and 5:2 are both still possible. So is 6:1 if there's an arsonist or something similar.
I am officially at a state of not giving a single shit about role block targets. Unless I am missing something, Grogu flipping civilian means at least one kill had to be abstained if there is a factional kill at all. Nobody else could have had their kill prevented on Night 3. If I am being an idiot here please someone yell at me. That means I don't care about the Scirrus or Enrique blocks. I am left assessing players for behavior at face value and guessing at the applicability of their role claims to some enemy faction.
Or like some kind of really delayed arson, but if that's the case there's probably only 2 mafia. Or the arson is assigned to a person and that person is Poison, who got blocked last night. But that's a VERY specific scenario which i'm not willing to bet the game on lol

Figures.
I want to yeet one of Poison/JJJ/Enrique
Poison literally just showing up, claiming results, and dipping. Nah.
JJJ because my dumb feels say he's mafia and orchestrating the 1 by 1 fall of townies.
He has the highest post count but most of his posts have largely about mechanics and maybes and "these are the possible scenarios" and he has been a supporter of every town chop so far.
Basically he just hasn't taken up as much as town leader role as I would expect.
This is probably hypocritical of me but at this point I don't really care
Enrique because he's been around the top of everyone's sus list but never actually got close to be eliminated.
Someone tell me why we should yeet someone outside this. Give me a real good reason. I might consider it

Re: Mafia (NIGHT 3)
I'd say it's possible, he did, after all, just make that big post above where he explained how it wouldn't be weird for mafia to abstain from kills.
Do you have an opinion on this?
I trust that the members of the town are all not lying about the roles, by virtue of them being town. I believe fingersplints and yourself to be town so therefore, legit. Enrique's role is legit bc it was proven by the vote count. Doesn't reveal anything about his alignment. JJJ's hider claim i'm inclined to believe. Poisons claim, dunno. She could easily be a tracker regardless of alignment. It's also not a hard role to fake. Grogu, meh. KZA's role is a little harder to believe bc i've never seen anything like it but for this game? I wouldn't be suprised if it is true.Epignosis wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:02 pmWhich claims are you trusting to be legit?Scirrus wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:31 pmIn the event that we're both mafia? Lmao you know thats not the caseEnrique wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:25 pmSo what option exactly *wouldn't* have looked terrible?Scirrus wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:12 pmDid you expect him to be lying about his role if he is mafia here? I don't see why he would considering the tie was between townies. He has no need to lie if he's scum.
I could only see him lying about his role is if I am scum with him. Telling the truth makes Enrique look terrible with the Alison flip and I don't know why he would do that lol.
And this isnt the case because I'm town anyway so
claiming something that would have made you looked better. Mafia have the benefit of lying to give themselves an advantage in a closed setup like this.
I am trusting town's claims to be legit. I assume mafia is too. My early claim of 1x vig clearly didnt help me bc i got blocked later and all I could really say is
"srry im vanilla now"
It doesnt do much to inspire confidence
Yeah I was confused about this as well

Re: Mafia (DAY 4)
So this means I HAVE to be scum to you, right? Why aren't you voting me?Grogu wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:54 amNot at all. That means that if you blocked the kill last night then scirrus just makes NK again. Which just tell us I’m not scum. Wolves are just not submitting if you truly blocked me. Or how else you explain no kill if I’m town?fingersplints wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:43 amThe only player blocked last night who cannot be blocked again was scirrus. Potential slip up here?

Re: Mafia (DAY 4)
Wait so your hider directs all actions on you to your target instead of just kills? @JaggedJimmyJay

Re: Mafia (NIGHT 3)
For what it's worth, my vig kill was not compulsory, and if I did not use it by N3, I would have lost it anywayJaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 3:39 pm I find myself wondering now if Grogu's role is opposite to my own because it's oppositely aligned. Whether it's "useful" may not be meaningful. Alison's role was useless. But also:
My role is nearly useless. For a civilian to effectively use a hider role requires incredible good luck, and almost any other application just causes extra needless confusion that is harmful to the team. The only truly good impact it can have is to draw a night kill and direct it to someone else. I was robbed of that capacity well before Night 1 was over, so for me the role is worthless. I'm also obligated to use it. I don't know if that applies to anyone else.
Grogu's role would be nearly useless for a mafia team. He can technically sacrifice himself to a town vigilante in order to save a better-positioned teammate. Such an eventuality is possible, but through the lens of a randomized role list it ought to seem pretty rare. That kind of parallels my role in the opposite direction.
This is super speculative, but we have no choice. We must speculate.
is your role the only one that's mandatory?
