i find the arguments for chopchop being town to be totally uncompelling. i'm concerned that chop will manage to coast throughout the rest of the game if he manages to squeeze himself out of a chop todayMacDougall wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 6:55 pmJust vote for Rej like a sane person. i don't really care which one dies, in all honesty
the only reason im voting chopchop is because there's significantly more resistance in favor of him, and im worried about him slipping away in future days

i think that marmot being ~detached~ from the game is non-alignment indicative, but a number of his posts give me the sense that he's uncomfortable w/the thread in general. this post exemplifies the broader trend of marmot seeming tonally out of place w/the rest of the thread:Kylemii wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 4:58 pmwhy is thatstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 4:57 pm biggest takeaway i got from my catch-up is that marmot is scum

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Day 2]
thank youUrist wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 11:58 pm here are some reads, delivered as promised:
Alison, ChopChop, DaughterOfOmega, Grogu are all being given passes due to role-related stuff.
I had some suspicion of Alison pre-claim due to some stuff from d1. In particular, she pushed both c4 and bo, was suspected by esooa, and I felt like she was trying to pocket me a little bit with the whole "oh no we're on the same page something is wrong ha ha" thing. Additionally, the mac read late d1 was pretty bad / shallow; that's what got me looking at alison to begin with.
Esooa pushed a few people d1, but at EoD she was most suspicious of Bo, Alison, Dom and ChopChop. Of these, we can remove Bo and Alison, and I really don't think Esooa is the kill if the enclave are specifically looking to protect ChopChop.
So from a straight kill-analysis perspective, Dom looks the most guilty. His absence from the thread so far is worrisome as well. His d1 did look genuine even if he was pushing a townie (c4) and someone I think is probably town (spf), but kill analysis is definitely a thing.
falcon45ca seemed fine d1, but recently my view of him has gotten a bit more negative. I really do feel like the vote on Alison was a way to sneakily remove his vote from Rej. Tinfoil aside, his focus on Alison throughout the day and his declaration of Grogu as his third-top suspect both ping me a little bit. If Rej flips enclave I would look more closely here.
Marmot kind of TMI'd c4 as town on d1 I think. He never really interacted with c4 at all, and just decided that he was town. He also promoted the BoKnows wagon but never voted there, which is a big red flag for me. He also was voting ChopChop for a while on d1, but refrained from doing the same d2 even while saying that he still thought ChopChop was mafia. I think that if Chop is enclave, I'd look sternly in Marmot's direction foremost.
NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME is playing his town game, pretty sure. Can't say much more than that it's meta-based.
Poison I still think is likely enclave. She popped in at some point d2 to make a few jokes and sit on ChopChop's fence. She also spent some time specifically looking for vault city members. There are also more questions than conclusions. Like I just read her iso and I have absolutely no idea what her reads are supposed to be. I would be down to yeet this whenever.
Rej just pops in whenever he's mentioned and says nothing of import. Probably enclave. I deeply regret placing what was probably the deciding vote to save him yesterday.
staypositivefriend seems town. I had a slight maf read on her at the start of d1 which I continued throughout the day mostly to annoy her but also because I felt that there was partner indicators between her and c4 at the beginning of the game. Esooa also had a town read on her so I'm comfortable to sheep that for the next few days regardless.
TonyStarkPrime I don't have a strong read either way, probably slightly further on the town side. I'm not interested in solving him any time soon, just mentioning him because someone specifically asked me for my read. I do think that he might be enclave with Poison due to some of the interactions there, but there's mostly interactions from Poison's direction so I wouldn't be interested in continuing that line of thought unless Poison flips enclave.
tl;dr:
Alison, ChopChop, Grogu, DoO, Nanook, spf town of varying degrees.
Rej & Poison primary enclave suspects.
Marmot & Dom are secondary suspects.
falcon tertiary suspect.
No strong reads on the other players.
i could nitpick this but it just helps in general to hear you explain your reads with any level of detail

Also I am a mislynch bait, I will be afk now until few hours before EoD. Feel free to ask me or involve me into something.
Also take care of @Poison, unmotivated playstyles are part of her scum meta or she is genuinely busy. Feel free to talk to me Poison-chan!
So I am off for now, maybe up for an answer before I finally hit da pillow.
@Rej I'm here, let's talk, we played quite few games together right?
what did I miss? suddenly you are available D2
are you town or do you have scumfriends motivating you to be active? healthy scum dynamics keep you active huh I will be more active tomorrow hopefully
I am slanking and busy lmao
also I just figured out that we mislynched last DP and with it we lost another town
one mafia got night killed, nice I have no clue what's up
i still maintain that it looks like rej is trying to replicate the specific dynamic he has with poison, and that he has no idea what to do outside of that. seems borderline frozen

could you kindly re-summarize it for me?
FMPOV whenever people start pushing one of my top mafia reads I get pretty excited to get who I want killed, and instead you had a perspective I don't see from town.
for me, it wasn't that i wasn't going to receive credit, it was that i had spent the entirety of d1 ringing sirens about rej, and i felt that i had trouble getting other people to acknowledge my read on him because of the amount of pressure i was under. seeing the momentum swing against him out of nowhere at the end of d1 after i had already been trying to do it made me a bit frustrated/unheard
i'm over it of course, but i hope that clarifies my reaction for you

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Day 2]
i see your point now. there could exist a world where urist realized that his partner was outed, decided to ask him for his message to force interaction, and then decided later to shift his strategy to defense. the mindsets are not inherently contradictory, because they can exist in a sequence that checks out fairly reasonablySloonei wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:33 pmI do not see these as conflicting mindsets. Hypothetically, a Mafia Urist can recognize that his partner has just slipped and so he decides to start interacting with him in whatever ways they can to appear not-aligned. Pressuring him to share his message is one way to do that. Defending him when the overwhelming trajectory of the thread is that he's going down is another way to do it.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:27 pmi agree, but the specific conversation we're having about urist right now implies that urist is being pulled in two different directions. does he want to get ahead of his partner being outed wolf by pressuring him to out his message, or does he want to defend chopchop and shield him?Sloonei wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:24 pmAlison and I had this conversation already. Well, I posed discussion questions to the thread and she gave the obvious answers. Bussing Chop is the "Level 1" play. Defending him is "Level 2." but at the same time, im an open book. feel free to ask me questions about anything if any of my reads are not clear
but if urist wanted to get ahead of it, why defend chopchop in the first place?
maybe im just talking myself out of an easy level 0 partner read, but it does feel a little too obvious
because when you say that urist possibly wanted to "get ahead" of his partner being outed, then i take that to mean that he wanted to bus his partner early on - but that seems to conflict with the mindset in his most recent posts
And if he is using the outted message as justification for town-reading him, then I think it's difficult to say his mindset is even contradictory there. If anything, that's a consistent progression.
I am not committed to the idea that Urist is mafia. It's a possibility I'm considering. I'm assuming his alignment for the sake of discussion in this post, obviously.
i am still getting the sense that this particular pairing is ~too easy~ - but i've been scumleaning urist for a lot of this game so i'm still working out what to do with that feeling

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Day 2]
i think the argument of: "why would chopchop out his entire message if he was scum?" is a flawed one - it is very plausible that chopchop just assumed that space would out the message if he didn't, and that he simply wanted to ~get ahead~ of the pressure by outing it right away
but even then, urist (iirc) was directly asking him to out the message. if he said "no" and refused to out it, then it would just make him look scummier

none of his reads or his takes today feel authentic or soulful or like theyre coming from the thought process of someone who is carefully evaluating the game. his push on alison that he shortly dropped after is weird. his belief that chopchop/space are both scum that he then immediately dropped in favor of defending chop is weird. his reasoning for wanting to chop rej over chopchop is weird. his energy today compared to d2 is dramatically different, and not in a way that i particularly like. he feels somewhat deflated and like he doesn't know where to take his solving or how to position himself in the thread
he would probably be on whatever team chopchop is on, since he's been soft defending him for a while now
like would that be worth my time to do or are you just going to take it and say "nah he's still prob maf"
i think you should do what's gonna help you solve the game the most

perhaps the urist/chopchop pairing is a little too obvious to be correct
still feels weird though

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Day 2]
that's not how i perceived it at all tbh - there's been a fairly aggressive tinfoil against sloonei (partially from me at certain points) and i've seen the sentiment of: "mac/sloonei/alison" has a scum echoed either directly or indirectly a number of times nowAlison wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 5:34 pmMy perception of the thread consensus is that myself and Sloonei have been widely townread with a couple of tinfoils, and Mac has been widely suspected but became more trusted after he re-entered the thread.staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 5:33 pmi've perceived the thread consensus as: "the group of alison/sloonei/mac is not pure" for a while nowAlison wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 5:31 pmWhy would you be gullible for believing this?staypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 5:30 pm perhaps im just gullible but i feel it is entirely possible that alison mac and sloonei are all town

if it is, then i think she'd be angling to get chopchop chopped (that's an awesome sentence) instead of hedging on his alignment and getting worried about him being town
i think daisy is probably town regardless of chop's alignment
