this one was nothing compared to anni
a player in that game was a hellbussing mafia gladiator that thunderdomed ppl in the thread and then if they bussed one of their teammates by gladiating them they got an extra strongman kill that night
imagine trying to solve for THAT. that was me in anni endgame

Re: Philosophers' Mafia [ENDGAME]
yea, i think hosts who put bussing roles in the game underestimate just how hard it is for a village to pull the trigger on that. they really aren’t fun to play with and i think are unreasonably difficult to solve for tbh. even without that though, nanook played well. i think a less capable player probably still diesel some point even with that roleLong Con wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 8:07 pmReally hard to suspect the guy who publicly daykilled a wolf. was a pleasure villagier with you again, as it always is!nutella wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 12:50 ami know i went back and forth on you a fair bit but fwiw i really did get there on you on the last phase i was alive when i had used up my 5 posts. i had a long rant written up over those 8 hours that i couldn't post in which i was utterly convinced tutuu was the wolf for multiple reasons, one of which being that you and hally were both just so townie. i just never would have realized it was nanook lol. and during that whole phase i was assuming that tsp would let me post before night actually ended but since it wasn't even clear i was messaging him all frustrated but then he just locked the thread and posted my death and said he wouldn't have allowed me to post before phase change anyway, and then it was probably for the better that i didn't get to post all the bs i had written up after all lmao.
then i joined dvc and he posted the spoiler shortly thereafter and i felt a lot better because at that moment i realized that it was probably never going to be a town win and that it wouldn't be my fault lol. (@hally i commented that it in fact felt *extremely* similar to when i entered dvc for haunted by slep and was just like "....oh." in the sense that it was the one world nobody was considering and so i wouldnt even have to feel bad that it was going to be a town loss)
in retrospect it's funny bc i was scumreading nanook a bit on d1 but not really enough to go anywhere with it and then i just cleared him from the vig with everyone else.
anyway. i feel bad for the iaafr modkill and how i had been interacting with him before it. i feel bad for misreading him and amy and hally and tutuu all at various points. a lot of things went wrong this game, and it wasn't just the fault of the host or the setup or the mechs and it also wasn't just the fault of the town. there were multiple bizarre factors that combined to make this an overall extremely weird experience and, well, it's over now and we can breathe and laugh about it. and hey, at least i personally murdered a wolf.![]()
one of these days we’ll actually get the win

i’m happy this at least went better for me then anni end game
i definitely learned my lesson from that game as far as questioning mechs and stuff late in games and relying more on reads instead
i probably would not have even considered nanook could be wolfing at the end had i not just had that awful experience
so like, me making a fool of myself in anni has a silver lining at least

Re: Philosophers' Mafia [ENDGAME]
i thought you were very much town!amy for the whole game really
only reason i considered you was because it just got to that point where mech wise everyone else seemed more clear
but even when you should have been basically outed wolf from my pov (as tutuu said), i still didn’t wanna push you because you still seemed towny to me
so like, i think you projected town just fine. but when villagers start to run out of options or it seems like mechanically someone has to be clear, they will twist themselves into knots to wolf read even the most obvious of villagers
(see: me end gaming in anni and hard clearing every remaining wolf on faulty mech)

well regardless of the outcome i’m extremely happy with my play this game
i subbed into a ridiculously tough spot halfway through D1 and destroyed the wolf team immediately
caught radishes, linked him to kza, caught bob, sussed nanook a ton and then got there on him in the end
overall i really cannot feel disappointed in myself despite the outcome
this was one of the better village games i’ve ever played reads wise and i think we win easily if not for the mech shenanigans and/or modkills. even with tutuu fpsing we still could have won because i still found her anyway. but lol mech

and also that nanook Knew Too Much
but then i doubted myself after i ran out of posts and redirected tutuu to nanook instead of the other way, which is potentially what ended the game?
idk man
cause tsp's a dweeb who wouldn't allow the 1-1-1 f3

Re: Philosophers' Mafia [ENDGAME]
no tutuu said she manually targeted nanook. so my redirect went through. i don’t think there was a jailkeeper. probably just a roleblocker. idkAmy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:41 pmtutuu manually targeted meHally wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:39 pmwhat happened the night before? i redirected tutuu to amy, so she got italianNANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:31 pm Gg guys and gals

so probably either you were the one JK'd, or the JK only stopped killing actions from affecting the target and nanook was bullshitting to say otherwise

Re: Philosophers' Mafia [NIGHT 6]
do jailkeeps stop peeks on the jailed person from going through? that isn’t standard where i’m from. they just block the jailed person’s actions but the jailed person can still be peekedNANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 10:19 pmLook up what a jailkeeper does pleaseHally wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 10:17 pmnanook i just realized your solve is still mechanically impossibleNANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 10:14 pm I guess it would be fairly karmic for me to lose a crushing f3 to cause my other town won’t pay attention in a TSP game after he’s lost that way in two of mine kek
Still fucking annoying tbh
if tutuu is a wolf jailkeeper and jailed me so she could kill nut amy would have gotten a result on me
amy’s peek on me failed. how could amy and i both get jailed on the same night? not possible
wolf!tutuu still mechanically ruled out
other ideas?
hang on, will confirm

Re: Philosophers' Mafia [NIGHT 6]
if wolf tutuu jails me to stop my redirect and kill nut, amy gets a result on me
if wolf tutuu jails amy to stop her from peeking me, my redirect goes through and nut doesn’t die
these are mutually exclusive in a wolf!tutuu world, yet both happened
tutuu still lock clear

Re: Philosophers' Mafia [NIGHT 6]
i actually believe town!tutuu could be so tunneled in her view of amy/me as wolves that she would fake a red peek if she didn’t get one out of fear i redirected her
i wish she had told the truth so i wouldn’t have to make a judgment call like this, but that’s what i think
