My experience with you was one scum game where you were pure af but also had an absurd amount of agenda, and one town game where you had good reads. Apparently that was your first scum game so it might not hold as well anymore, but it seemed like an accurate meta read.

can you explain this a bit more
my understanding is that your scum game is fairly rigid and focused on asserting specific agendas/narratives within the thread - i haven't felt at all like you've been trying to reinforce any specific narratives with your approach in this game. you made a post defending me and then immediately made a post pointing out something about me that you find suspicious. you came into the game w/a slightly aggressive push on sloonei, and then your tone toward him subtly softened after you had an exchange. you've been pushy about getting people to acknowledge your long con read, but in a way that feels more like it stems from the frustration of being unheard and not because you want long con to perceived in a specific way

it just feels agenda-free, and i usually take that as a good sign for you. this post made me re-skim your iso, and i will say that viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2055&p=736533#p736533 made me a little nervous lol - made me wonder if that post was a roundabout way of trying to pocket me, by playing up your concern about me
can I ask what differences between Sloonei and myself causes the difference in confidence between a town lean and a town read?
i feel that i have a stronger baseline for how sloonei approaches the game as wolf vs town (since i played in 2 champs games with him and then wolfed in one game with him), whereas my read on you is partially predicated on meta that is mainly guesswork
what did you use to form the basis of that guesswork?

i asked you that question because your progression toward me rubbed me the wrong way a little bit. you came into the thread with a piggyback of a suspicion that sloonei had already outed - but then you misunderstood the reasons for his suspicion, and then still doubled down even when you got corrected. when i paired that with the fact that i felt i had already gone into detail about that progression already, it made me concerned that your scumhunting was coming from a shallow place. it wasn't an actual scumread though - moreso just me getting pinged in the moment and wanting to see how you reacted to shade
by the way, Jess (spf) being sort of destabilized in a sense from the game because of getting pressured as town is a real thing. She's mentioned it as town a ~couple times before, so definitely could do it again as mafia to sort of level her play/say a "towny" thing ig, but the fact she's not under any, kinda, *real* threat here makes me feel like it's not just an excuse/attempt to get pressure off herself, but a real statement

Unsure how confident I am on this
I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.
idk how to explain it succinctly

basically; the fact Jess is explaining herself in the way she is, makes me feel like her emotions are genuine, rather than an attempt to get pressure off herself

Mostly because she's not really under enough pressure for me to believe that scum!Jess would need to give what amounts to AtE to get that pressure off her, and rather it feels like town!Jess expressing how she's actually feeling

little bit of a weird meme but I don't think it was a response to pressure really

That being said he has a few off things in his ISO. Mostly, I disagree his response to SPF was towny. It felt overly emotional in a performative way, similar feeling I've gotten from a couple of his other posts. I've played with c4 a couple times but tbh never paid particular attention to him (lol at this because I do remember the most previous game he said people don't pay him much attention), so I'll probably read those some time to see if he's normally overly emotive but I don't remember him being so day 1?

Also didn't like the way he responded to my question of "if you care about thread discussion so much why didn't you ask me about my read;" he said it was obvious and he didn't need to question me about it, then said he thought the read I was talking about was on Falcon not KZA and to give him a sec, then never actually talked about it again

nah sadly, it was in the ballpark, but it wasn't The Thing

i actually do think his concerns are towny though
Has anyone revealed themself to be a mafier yet?
not particularly - i feel that finding the scum in a 26 player list on d1 is like finding a needle in a haystack, but finding the town is a much more achievable and realistic goal

ive primarily focused on collecting townreads and then working backwards from there to get scumreads
Who are the town reads?
you, foresight, long con

other names (tonystarkprime, esooa) pending
I can never get a real town read Q-Q

Unsure. I feel like your reasons for being wary of me make sense from a civilian perspective, but your responses to my questions have felt like you are trying not to extend yourself too much, playing it a little hostile rather than just answering the questions I am asking. But sometimes my questions just do that to people, so I'm not going to commit to a read on that just yet.
I've tried answering the best I could. Tbh I'm kinda hostile as a default which isn't good, so I've been trying to not be that. You asking me why I decided to participate in a conversation you prompted felt really *icky* to me so I probably was more hostile there but I was actively trying not to be if it helps lol
I get under people's skin when I do this routine and I think the expectation is that I am trying to be more difficult/interrogative than I actually, so yeah, it is understandable to have those feelings.

I appreciate you putting up with me and your more recent answers have been reassuring. My goal with these sort of questions is to reach a place of better mutual understanding, and I feel like that's happened. At least it has on my end.
it's helped a bit

and yeah I know they're for mutual understanding and that's the best way to do things imo, which is why I've been trying to be less sorta

aggressive and more discussion focused

so I don't mind it at all

How seriously do you treat early-game reads?
depends on the player. For you, not very seriously
I meant your own reads, or reads in general.

When you say "for me" do you mean the reads that I have stated? Why? What is your perception of me? I think this is our first game together, or maybe our second.
need to do stuff for a few minutes so a quick response then will answer more later

I meant I treat my current read on you as not very serious and likely to change pending what you do later
Isn't that true of all reads?
maybe? Not all, but I said that as in, "it's likely to change;" or, I wouldn't be surprised if it changed, because my read as of right now isn't very strong

Noted.

The reason I asked is that you seemed to be assigning more weight to my Long Con and spf reads than I am myself. I believe in the reads I have expressed in them so far, but I do not consider either of them to be even remotely close to solid. They are my initial impressions on the game.

There is not much more to the LC read than what I have said: I thought his attitude when he joked about being masons with me looked like a happy and carefree LC. The whole "claiming masons is easy" thing is not a line I'd apply to LC in particular: he's an old school Syndicat. The trend of claiming masons on Day 1 is a strange new custom we're not used to here. So I don't look at it as a routine thing for him to do. I just thought the post suggested he was coming at the thread from a place of ease, not straining to integrate himself. A vague impression, but an impression nonetheless.

I thought his response to the suspicion was snarky but laidback. I didn't mind. Scum LC doesn't get rattled by early Day 1 pressure.
if that's why then okay; that makes more sense

I figured you were saying it was towny because of something along the lines of masons are a town only role.

I still think his response was bad. It doesn't have to do with being rattled, it has to do with what was imo an unnatural change in behavior when I pointed it out

as for how seriously I'm treating your reads; I don't expect you to strongly town read LC, but I do expect your (less serious) town read to have valid reasoning, which I didn't see before

what's your read on me?

I'm not so sure about that. Honestly, calling attention to your reads in such a way I almost always dislike; it just feels showy to be

but it's also something that I've seen come from town *at least* as often as scum

I have a theory: she doesn't like that I correctly called her out as scum, and is motivated to get discussion moving elsewhere, with her as the towny discussion motivator.
you're right I had an interest in not talking about your read. Mostly because it was bad and annoying me
