I wonder how many ships there are? Someone said how many there were in the series, I think, didn't they?
I'm sooo happy the pilots came back.

I'm guessing that our Admiral Goldama has a specific amount of rez ships in his grid. And after we find them we *might* find the hub ship ala battleship style.

That said - IDK if it's right or not - but wouldn't it be cool if the Cylon's were engaged in a similar not in the thread version of searching for Galactica that we are doing with the rez ships? Since they are chasing us after all....

I'm positive that if we ask our lovely host he won't confirm or deny it - it's just a mechanic I can see being implemented in this theme.

And now I wonder about peeps who've asked where they think "we" are located....

I can't wait for matt to read this and his brain to asploade with thinking I have inside info an I'm now bad again. ;) :p

[secret role] Might be human. Might be cylon. Might be stationed on Galactica. Might not. Who really knows.
Is there anything we can derive from looking at the role list this way? Lore people- can you tell us about any factions or interplay between these two groups that Golden the Coward ;) might have brought over into the game?
Here it is.

As far as the humans go, the lists make perfect sense. Since there was a fleet, and certain people were on different ships. So I haven't analyzed each human on the Galactica and each human elsewhere, but in general that makes sense.

Beyond that, here is what I've found on each of the cylons, relating to their currently assigned locations. (Yes, this contains spoilers, read at your own risk if you haven't watched the show and want to watch it still.)

On Galactica
Spoiler: show
Cavil - One of the Number Ones, prior to being discovered among the Fleet, posed as Brother Cavil, a member of the Colonial clergy. However, contrary to his assumed role, he did not share the other Cylons' religious beliefs and frequently mocked them.

Doral - "Number Five", known to the humans as Aaron Doral, appears to be a man in his mid-thirties. He is initially encountered aboard Galactica, where he is operating as a public relations executive. Later he is active both within the fleeing Colonial fleet and on Caprica. He seems designed to network, almost to the point of being the sleazy used-car salesman type, but with a sadistic, violent side.

But Doral is a humanoid Cylon in reality. The Doral model's purpose is to attempt to sow the seeds of discontent or confusion, particularly during crucial life-threatening situations. Doral models endeavor to undermine authority that threatens his objectives. Doral models are more covert than the dazzling Sixes, assuming an ordinary "everyman" appearance blended in what may seem to be insignificant behind-the-scenes issues (such as converting Galactica into a museum).

Boomer - Sharon "Boomer" Valerii is a copy of the humanoid Cylon model Number Eight who is initially planted as a "sleeper" agent in the Colonial Fleet. She is unaware of her Cylon nature and serves for two years as Lieutenant Valerii on Galactica, where she is assigned as a Raptor pilot and also engaged in a secret relationship with Chief Tyrol. After the Cylon attack, her underlying programming repeatedly emerges which leads her to unconscious acts of sabotage. Growing confusion about her true self result in a deep depression and a failed suicide attempt. After Valerii returns from a successful mission to destroy a Cylon basestar, she shoots Commander William Adama in the chest, wounding him critically. She is incarcerated in the brig and soon afterward is killed by Cally Henderson.

Athena - The Cylon who eventually comes to be known as Sharon "Athena" Agathon is a Number Eight humanoid Cylon copy.

She is first encountered by Karl "Helo" Agathon when he is stranded on Caprica. Initially assigned to seduce him by impersonating Lieutenant Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, as part of a Cylon cross-breeding experiment, she turns against her people and helps him escape the planet. Pregnant with Helo's child, Helo is shocked by her true nature but ultimately accepts her lovingly as the mother of his child.

Once on Galactica, she is imprisoned and long seen as a mere object.

Not aboard:
Spoiler: show
Leoben - Number Two is first encountered at the Ragnar Anchorage, where he poses as an arms dealer and calls himself Leoben Conoy. It is likely that he was assigned with the monitoring of this depot station as the war began, gaining intelligence on battlestars that visited there. Alternatively, he may have been tasked with stealing away or destroying the ammunition (or the station itself) to prevent its use by the Colonials.

D'Anna - "Number Three" is a model of humanoid Cylon, female, blonde, and marked by a religious curiosity—notably surrounding the verboten Final Five—that sets her against the other Cylon models, notably the Number Ones.

The model was first introduced in "Final Cut" as an infiltrator in the Fleet under the alias "D'Anna Biers" posing as a reporter for the Fleet News Service. She appears to be more of a tabloid rumor-and-innuendo format news journalist and less of the conventional Fleet journalist types such as James McManus.

O'Neill - "Number Four", also referred to by his human name Simon O'Neill, is a humanoid Cylon that speaks calmly and purposefully, and tends to use logic as a means for his operation or resolving issues (TRS: "Torn"), and is not as religious as his counterparts.[2] This model appears to be the medical specialist of the Cylons and also takes on the role of a doctor or medic when functioning as an infiltrator (TRS: "The Farm", "Six of One", "The Plan"). Apparently the infiltrators of this type are more likely to use their medical skills subversively than to engage in direct combat.

A Four captured on an infected basestar near the Lion's Head Nebula is interrogated on Galactica. He reveals information about the ship and the Cylons' motives for abandoning it, in exchange for a cure promised by the humans. However, there is no cure, only a treatment.

Caprica Six - For two years, Caprica-Six lived on Caprica. Seducing the ambitious, self-obsessed, arrogant Gaius Baltar, she fools him into believing she was a corporate spy, seeking to gain advantage over her competitors in order to secure a lucrative defense contract. Over the course of two years, she used Baltar to gain access to his work -- even to the extent of re-writing many of his own algorithms -- in order to subvert his own Command Navigation Program for use in the forthcoming Cylon attack to cripple Colonial forces with no warning. (Never appears on Galactica in the flesh.)
As far as gleaning anything about alignment based on their location, I don't see it. To me, the alignment (based on lore) would likely look like:

Cavil vs D'Anna

Cavil Faction: ones (Cavil), fours (O'Neill), fives (Doral) and Boomer (Cavil also hated the Final 5, wanting them dead and/or boxed), the Hybrid (if it exists) may be in this faction, or work as an indy

D'Anna's Group: twos (Leoben), threes (D'Anna), and Athena, Caprica Six may be in this faction, or work as an indy

So it looks like they're all just all over the place. And I'm just doing this after lots of reading. So I could of course be wrong, but I think if the factions/groups follow show lore, this is the way it will look. Hybrid and C Six are an unknown, afaik. Though I do know that D'Anna angered the Hybrid at one point with her actions, so that's why I would put it with Cavil, or as an indy.

I'd love to hear more input from other show watchers, or wiki readers.
YES! I agree - so long as the cylon's are following the lore. Given the fact that we KNOW the final 5 are not necessarily following lore due to who is alive at the time of activation - I can see our host doing something true but wonky here too ya know?

I honestly - lore based - feel like the Hybrid is likely the secret role. I know it's been pointed out that Hera (Athena and Helo's baby could be) but IDK. Hybrid feels more likely for true Indy. I can see Hera. I keep going back and forth about secret role.

AWESOME!!

I know I've advocated that *some* cylons can be and most likely are good. I believe this as much as I believe that cheese makes most everything better.

But - the more cylon rez ships we destroy - the better it is for us because a) The civ aligned cylons are now just like us humans. They live or die with each lynch and NK - and b) When we find Cavil we might be able to kill him. I want to kill him and his followers so badly.

Someone made a valid point that stuck with me regarding his avoidance of the Rez Ship search. Why completely avoid the topic if your nervous about it being found?

Matt appears to be the rabble rouse who continues to distract people with in-fighting. It reminds me of two characters that were at odds in the show from a political standpoint. So I'm on the fence about bad or good honestly. But if any of that was based on character background personality it certainly was entertaining.. If not... Well then this just took a turn for the worse.

Fascinating indeed.
Which points are valid and valuable?

Why are you feeling like matt and JJJ are not good?

Which characters in the show do they remind you of?

Do you trust anyone yet? If so who and why?
Who do you least trust? Why?

Not on Day 1. Now... way down the line and well into the game - maybe so, but still depending on how "civ like" you played. (Which is totally subjective, and based on each person's opinion.)
This especially if we are talking about Athena. Down the road, I could see cylon's trying to set you up knowing that you are not one of them.

I think - for realzie - the VERY fact that despite all that she has gone though, the fact that she says she still is enjoying the game and is still passionate about it is a good sign not a bad one. If you look at her *actions* they have been civ leaning. I don't know what role she has, but I don't doubt my read of her being town based on the fact that she has had a rough patch or 4 and still enjoys the game means she is bad. Ya know?

I just answered my own question. So yes, I believe we'll be down to 1 sortie every 12 hours. If everyone agrees, I'll amend the schedule, and post it, and then we can SORT out who wants to do what when.

As I've said since the beginning - I have a hard time seeing athena as anything but good because of her role in the lore. I COULD be wrong. I've also always said that - but I've been asking for the BOTD here because it feels against the nature of the show.

everyone - incuding indi - who pointed to jjj's post about absolutely trusting epi based on his role card flip missed that I was the FIRST person to say - if he does something suspish we should hold him accountable, till then I give him *and* Athena the BOTD.

Interesting LoRab. I see you jumped a vote on LC and have stuck around to throw out this opinion. Is this to cover your ass if LA flips something bad or murdering like? (I'm sorry, I'm not getting the whole concept yet)

Just something to watch. Just know I am. :eye:
I've been starting to doze off in front of the computer for an hour or so, and didn't want to miss the vote. I'm not confident in my vote, but I felt suspish enough to vote. And then continued to contribute when I didn't actually fall asleep.

Not sure why you find that nefarious. I'm not bad. I don't have BTSC with Nutella. I don't know what else to say, because nothing else has been mentioned about why I'm suspish.

I'm confused by this, because later you say that I'm more suspish than she is. I'm not connected to her. At this poing, I don't trust her and I find her more suspish than I did when I voted. I don't know what esle to say, because you haven't really said anything about me.

We all know that marmot is a special snowflake, but we just don't let him know exactly what we mean by special.

I signed him up as marmot in the sign up thread, and have been copy and pasting the player list ever since. I don't want to mislead anyone with player names, I'm not going to hide information in places like polls, or incidental parts of night and day posts etc, because it could unbalance the game to do that.

I call him marmot because I call him marmot. If you have a problem with this, I reserve the right to assign you a nickname and call you exclusively that. Probably some kind of animal that tunnels for golden things... :ponder:

bea wrote:Ok - I'm well rested and my first cup of coffee is almost gone, so this has a chance of actually making sense!

I will start with thoughts on people -

I like where Matt, Indi, Rico and Drum have been headspace wise. I have the good feels for them.

Though I may not always agree with what she says, I think Silver is fighting the good fight too.

Peeps I'm worried about:

Zeebs - I don't know if she's got a lot going on or if she's changing up her game play, but her play here reminds me of when she and I were bad in Rocky and Bullwinkle. When she was Boris, she was very agreeable in the thread and hid behind a single suspish the whole way though. It went mostly unnoticed for a long time. I tend to associate civ Zeebs with being a little more vocal with what she thinks. I know this has caused some round and round with her and others before so I've been trying to give some botd in case she's changing up her playstyle because I can't imagine having a go with someone every fracking game is fun. Still, I've got my eyes on her.

LC - so the whole sortie thing kinda reminded me of the Talking Heads game where LC came out with a junk case on me. It was junk. It was such junk that I actually defended him when he was all "Oh, it was just a joke." I said no way would bad LC make a case THAT lame against me. The RYM peeps weren't having any of that and lynched him anyway. Lo and behold - he was bad and for the next two cycles everyone was convinced I was the second part of a gambit that I totally wasn't a part of. His kill all cylons stance gives me some pause though. I can't see a bad cylon having that store of attitude.

LA - I can see where peeps are worried about her. She really is a little nubby when civ and an expert at faking the nub when she's bad. I know she was super busy graduating and stuff. I can see why some people would say her comments on ika were adding fuel to the fire of a bad situation. I need to see more from her to make up my mind.

Speaking of people I need to see more from:

I'd love to hear more from Black Rock. Again, I know how similar our schedules are and she has a family to care for on top of it. Game start was super bad timing for peeps who work in food service on a holiday weekend. This thread is a bear to get through. having spent all of yesterday slogging through it, I'd say skip where it's appropriate to skip. You'll know it when you get there.

DF - I agree with whoever said we should give him some more time. I know how much I was looking forward to this catch up. He consistantly gets more involved as the game goes on. That said - DF - if you can give us anything along the lines of reads or where your head is at it would be greatly appriciated. :)

I'd also like to hear a bit more from our newer players.

Ina - people were in thread speculating about a replacement for you. Did you ask for one and I missed it? Out side of the shear volume of the posts is there something in the game that you are struggling with and it's hindering your involvement? Please feel free to post any questions you have. We really are a friendly group. Even when we are yelling at each other!

Sok - same for you - is there something besides the volume (I can't really help with that - they are a chatty lot) that's holding your back from posting?

Not sure where my vote is going at this point, but here's where my head is at.

Gonna make some game structure comments in another post as this is getting longish.
I'm mostly lost trying to figure things out and where I fit in all of this to be honest. LOL I chime in when and where I can but most of the conversation is all over the place. Feels like mostly misdirection to be honest. But as far as contributing I'm kind of at a loss for how. I can't vote for someone's demise unless I'm fairly certain. Another thing that dawned on me is I'm not sure how we gauge when Night and Day changes. is that in line with a specific time zone? on the literal day.

I'm reading all these posts and people seem to be trying to help now, no one seems overly eager other than maybe JJJ who I suspect I know which character he's drawing from. Which puts me on the fence about his allegiance. I'm pretty sure I've got Silver's character background down and I'm pretty sure they are a Civilian/Townie whatever you call it. outside of that. The only person who I was for sure needed to go is now gone. LOL Missed that vote.

This is my first game, so I'm trying to get a feel for how its played and even after so many posts I still feel kind of lost. And not really sure how to contribute.
ok - so where are your questions? what do you most not undrerstand?

I am neither cornered nor a baddie :shrug2: I'm afraid I'll get lynched for basically the same reasons I do in almost every game, it's really frustrating at this point but I don't know what to do since no matter how or what I post people seem to read it as suspicious.

linki @ SVS I have no memory of how I played in recruitment (I assume you're talking about the latest one) and I don't know what you mean by "anyone but me" but I swear I'm just innocent and clueless this game.

linki @ bea: I might still vote for zebra even though I feel less strongly about her, but I kind of think I'll be voting more out of self preservation at this point and she has some votes to compete with those on me anyway. I'd rather not vote LC but if it ends up being a choice between voting him and getting lynched myself I'll do it. I'll wait as close to the end as I can though (without missing it this time  )

linki- silver - I get where you are coming from. I really really do. FWIW Day 4 is my cut off point. I feel like low posters are fair game at about day 4.

By then - I've seen what I need to see of people like DF or BR to have *some* sort of opinion. They are players who are NEVER going to post as much as you do. But when they are civ - their small posts contain meat in them. See my discussion with svs re: BR. I didn't ask for a break because of RL - but enough people here know what RL is for me being the GM of a pizza place in a big city and holiday weekend is holiday weekend. For any of that you could have lead a lynch against me and it would have been low poster justified. I'm only very lucky that I had these two days to catch up.

Who of the people who have been vocal do you have suspish on? Cuz something tells me Cavil is around here. And he's a talky SOB.

Indeed. I'm not even sure if we have a mafia team.

Athena was Cylon but not evil.

@bea, this is why I don't think BR is bad. She asked me this question less than a minute after my original reaction post.

Why do you? What am I missing?
I saw that post and I agree with your assesment of it. I don't think she's bad yet - I just want to hear more from her. Mostly for selfish reasons. I feel like we are mafia players who's boats always seem to pass in the night when civ. She goes early or I go early and I never really get to play and interact with her. Ya know? So I'd like to get as much opportunity as I can before history may sadly yet again repeat itself. Make sense?

I did, Golden commented on it around ~850 posts in. Nothing in the game, I started a new job and don't have the time I did when I signed up, so I can't really be on, and I thought I had time over the weekend but then I was busy with other things and that was kinda the deciding factor. I can be well-active, I was in a game on MU that finished just before this one and I was fine, but having so many players and so many posts is preventing me from being able to keep up in the little time that I do have, and it's not fair to the town for me to get mislynched because I couldn't keep up to be able to contribute something worthwhile. So yeah haha, that's where I stand on that, as far as I know I am subbing out but I just wanted to answer you beforehand since you asked so that my replacement doesn't get unfairly suspected because of my absence which is not game-related. If that breaks a rule or something, I'll take the infraction haha.

Also, I realize that I missed it, so for the sake of it: So Say We All!

Thank you so much for your response ina - since you are trying to slug through while you are here, do you have any questions? Thoughts? I just read this thread pretty much mainlined 40 pages or so in a day and a half so lots of it is semi-fresh. Do you have any thoughts on what you do understand is going on?
