Thats one for Dom's sig!

The speculation on Dom being less prickly, though, doesn't raise my eyebrow about Dom. I felt like he gets tense when he and Mac are exchanging pleasantries, and is normally relatively sedate and nice so all I'm seeing is normal Dom who hasn't had any recent exchanges with Mac.

I haven't really focussed on Dom this game... I don't have any sort of read on him, and 'nice, normal Dom', doesn't equate to a particular affiliation for me.

:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: Now I really want to see that in Dom's sig. :haha: :haha:

I *think* what people are perciving as "prickly Dom" was when he had issue with the tone of the game (IE - things getting too personal, words being said - even in jest - that felt agressive) - and Dom being very Dom in his response. If you take that bit out, well....yea ...IDK. I have a general Dom feels like dom sort of read on him. That said - I have that on him regardless of allignment. When I hosted him as bad in Dr. Who - I said more than once I would have thought he was civ if I was playing the game. So yea. IDK how to read dom.

But "twin forces of evil", "second guessing myself", "of two minds", not to mention the recent post of his where I was originally suss of him for "coin flip", c'mon now Bullz.

Also, I'm not even necessarily advocating a lynch of Glor, but he laughed me off and then said "I expect more from you Matt" so I gave him more.
While I do appreciate that you did give him more, I have to say, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Hey, bea :) I'm very pleased to make your acquaintance :bighug: That's a good point, but no. To be honest, I was more relieved than anything when I found out I was silenced. Do we know who is silenced today? Is everyone accounted for so far?

As far as my suspicions right now, I don't have a lot. The whole Sig situation has shaken my confidence to the core. Typhoony seems rather strange to me this game for reasons I can't quite put my finger on but looking back to Pikmin Mafia, he was Captain Charlie and his identity was revealed only to me. The funny thing was, even though he was Town, had I not know he was, I think I could've been forgiven to think he wasn't. MP is kinda interesting - I was Mafia with him in Star Wars and as a consequence, I have the greatest admiration and respect for his ability. From conversations I've had with him, I honestly can't seem him as one of those 'Self-lynching' types - I think he's too proud for that despite what pressure he may feel from his real life circumstances. We've got a long way to go this Day phase but I have to say I can't see myself voting for him at this stage...
So do you suspect Typh? You say you "could've been forgiven" in thinking Typh was bad when he was good in Pikmin. I'm not even sure how that correlates to this game. Are you saying without the handicap, you would have read him wrong, and now you are nervous you are reading him wrong this game? I feel like your intrigue of him is circular and non-committal.
And MP is "interesting". I agree, he's an interesting sock, indeed. But you say you probably won't vote him, because he's too proud to self-lynch.

So you were away for a day and have no suspicions whatsoever?

You are interesting, Glorfindel.

Anyway, I do think you're bad Mac, but it is hard to pinpoint who your teammate(s) might be. And when Turnip takes nothing but your word over his awesome case, that is curious. If it wasn't you in the situation, I think you would find it curious as well.

Linki - :meany:
Turnip Head backed off of him Before the Black Rock lynch, so if he saw the crumb, he saw it before he started pushing Black Rock specifically over Mac. When I asked him to link me to his cases, he only linked me to the one on Black Rock. When I went and found the Mac case, and voted for him, and Dom not long after me, TH came right out and said, let's lynch Black Rock and talk about Mac tomorrow.

TH was trying to save Mac before the lynch even was set.
Do you think that makes the situation look better or worse for Mac/TH? I think you may be right that he was trying to save Mac, but not that he saw any breadcrumb.

Btw Turnip, Glorfindel obviously claimed Two-Face so I guess we should just take him at his word and stop sussing him now, right? :evileye:
FWIW - and I know it's not worth much to you matt -

I think reading along - that TH saw that he could be wrong about Mac and wanted more time- I started to see the errors as mac posted them during my catch up too. I can't say anything pro/con toward the breadcrumb cuz tbh, I'm here in my catch up and I just haven't gotten that far yet.

IDK if I believe that glorf was claiming two-face. Is it possible that you're just reading too deeply into a coincidence in phrasing?

OK, well thats not going to be so hard. This golden has his first night at home for a week tonight (thank goodness), he doesn't have to take any work home, and he doesn't have too many prior commitments beyond hosting Zodiac Mafia (which also coincides directly with my effort drop off here, as what time I do have goes to that first). it has been ok so far. It's when I vanish for large periods and people start suspecting me because I'm not responding to them instantly that we'll have a problem.

It's not like I didn't know exactly what would happen. But this is simply the reality for me right now. 2016 golden will not look like 2015 golden. There will be phases where I simply cannot play.

bea wrote:Now that I am caught up - here is my main issue with typh = penguin = the reason MP has a number 1 favorite vote evah.

The blackmail aspect of the role feels like a cursing role. I would think that typh has played enough games with skilled people at cursing roles to write stipulations into the curse to make what MP is doing null the curse. He was around for all of the Hunger's various forms if I remember correctly at the *very* least. What ever MP has been hit by feels like it was sent from someone who hasn't had a lot of experience with that sort of role and doesn't quite know what to do with it.

linki - so you are saying that the riddles is a thing HE has to do as part of his role then, not something he targets someone else with?
That doesn't make sense to me. Why would the hosts make him out himself so hard if he were the Riddler? Are you seeing it something like Mr. Popularity - where the more attention he gets, the more powerful he becomes?

linki again - IDK if it was lear for sure. I guessed. I didn't want to cheat and google it.
If not the Penguin forcing a vote, what other role is it? MP says he hasn't found the antidote to the poison, and he can't be targeted twice in a row, so we know it isn't Poison Ivy. I would hardly classify being forced to vote one person as an extension of Joker's "insanify".

As for why Matt is posting in Riddles: :shrug2: I think it has to have something to do with his win condition. The Riddler intrinsically wants the cops to figure it out, but only after they suffer through the strenuous process of solving his riddles.

It was indeed Lear; you know your Shakespeare!
dunno if not penguin who? my issue was more the linear line of thought that was laid out. Or to be more clear - I don't think typh did this to MP because I think he would have accounted for "making it obvious" in his cursing. The sort of "you have to post x is your number 1 suspect" in every post feels like it came from someone who's not played many games with cursing roles.

And yay! Those 5 Shakespeare classes I took in college are finally paying off for me! (I was an English teacher in another life.)

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 3]

Now that I am caught up - here is my main issue with typh = penguin = the reason MP has a number 1 favorite vote evah.

So to reiterate here's some of these :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye:

For Turnip Head, Lorab, Bass and bea.
This is Mac's first mention of Nero. I don't know what natty means but in context it's a defense of his character in the same post where Mac says he hasn't read much content.
MacDougall wrote:

I like the question Typhoony but I also like Nerolunar's theory here. I think the idea that Riddler would leave evidence behind of his crimes is pretty solid, but I don't think that'd be as simple as us being able to select the asylum and get one...
More of Mac finding Nero's contributions valuable.
MacDougall wrote:
Turnip Head wrote:I think the most suspicious thing to come out of this was Neru throwing shade at me and then backing down when I called him out on it.
Was weird huh.
This won't show up in a search because I was calling him "Neru" for forever and Mac was responding to my post.

For those who have not read this 90 page behemoth, Mac made a big deal over me using the word "we" to refer to civilian behavior, and Nero backed him up with a definitive statement about how it made me bad. When I called Nero out for sounding so sure about it, he backed off with a "No haha lots of time left." After Mac and I hashed it out for 100 posts or so, I made this comment about Nero and Mac gave this half-hearted agreement. I believe Nero simply got too confident in following a teammate's suspicion here, and upon realizing that he backed off.
MacDougall wrote:
Turnip Head wrote:[snip]

All this really shows is that Mac is cognizant of my suspicion of Nero.
MacDougall wrote:
bea wrote:So basically you are saying yes Matt was likely cursed but here is why it most likely wasn't by the Joker. Yes?

Linki. Yay!! I understood something!!
I'm not actually dismissing the possibility that he was cursed by The Joker. Maybe The Joker can do that as part of his secrets. I am dismissing the possibility that it occured via Matt having targeted him.

Matt's suspicion of Nerolunar is based on Nero talking about the Riddler. Matt is probably The Riddler and thinks Nero is the cop that needs him dead.
In which Mac calls into question Matt's motives for wanting to lynch Nero. This is a bizarre post, mostly because Mac had been defending Matt up until this point. But this not only discredit's Matt's suspicion of Nero, it discredits his motives entirely by speculating that Matt is the Riddler himself. If you look through Mac's posts, this is the only point in the game where Mac questions his civvieness, when it relates to Nero as a suspect. Mac reads Matt as civ in all situations except where it relates to Nero.

Matt eventually seems like a goner, but then Enrique comes in with his 180 on the subject, and people are looking for a new lynch target.
DharmaHelper wrote:Lets lynch Nero.
MacDougall wrote:Let's not just lynch a guy based on a player saying let's lynch them. Let's decide on who the best candidate is.

I tactically stopped attacking my suspects from Day 1 today and it revealed some interesting stuff. Under the microscope Turnip Head contributed plenty of discussion. As soon as I took the microscope away his contribution to discussion screeched to a grinding halt. Why?
This post is a direct response to DH saying we should lynch Nero. He doesn't name Nero, instead tries to pivot back to his earlier suspicion of me by mischaracterizing my play as "screeching to a grinding halt".

Mac follows up:
MacDougall wrote:I think sig and nero are both reasonable candidates and wouldn't actually mind seeing either of them flip. But, I would like it to be based on something more than DharmaHelper blatantly inviting lurkers to drive by vote whoever he says to.
Enrique is the one who suggested that we move votes toward sig or Nero. DharmaHelper only said Nero. This post is a defense of Nero and only Nero.

MacDougall wrote:Sig and nero... Sig, the ultimate in mislynch meta and nero who I've never played with before. Both ping me for different reasons.

I think I'd endorse Nero being lynched over sig.
This is the first indication that Mac thinks the thing I mentioned on Day 1 was "the most surface scummy thing that has occurred". But Mac never votes for Nero on the basis of that and never interrogates Nero the way he had me for the "we" thing.
MacDougall wrote:Nero is a good lynch today imo. Y'all should just go watch some TV or something and wait for the outcome.
Nero had 7 votes at this point and there was about an hour and a half left. Weird post.
MacDougall wrote:Reveal that not civvie plz.
MacDougall wrote:Reveal dat Catwoman or someshit
This bravado rings false. The Catwoman thing seems like an allusion to the fact that Matt thought Nero was the Riddler, and Enrique thought Nero was the Joker. To me it feels like Mac knew Nero would flip mafia against the evidence, and while he wanted to sound confident he also wanted to poke fun at the conspiracy theories.

On the Nero side of things...
Nerolunar wrote:Honestly Matt I think you fear for your own life. Trying to raise a mob against me and what not.

Strong Civ reads: Juliets, Mac and Golden. They seem very genuine and has brought on some good points. I find myself to mostly agree with these people. I should include Scotty here too since I too believe that Wilgy was Robin.

Slight Civ reads: Sorsha. This guy seems very reasonable but doesn´t post that much which strikes me as odd. Dom and MP also strike me as civvy.

My scum reads are Dharmahelper, Matt and Metalmarsh. Especially Metal as he has not explained his weird behavior of voting Zebra at the beginning of day 1. I have ased him that question a few times now and keeps ignoring it. If he doesn´t answer I might go ahead and vote him. Dharma because he only usually pops in to comment on something then leaves. Matt because he is being somewhat desperate to get rid of me and his weird conspiracy that is simply not true.

Linki These knock knock jokes are getting so annoying.
Nero didn't make very many posts that were about his thoughts on other players, but I specifically asked him for this one. Of these players, Mac is the only one that Nero had any sort of contact with, and Nero labelled him among his civ reads. This is something I think Mac would tell him it would be okay to do. The whole thread has read Mac as town, why shouldn't Nero?
Nerolunar wrote:
Glorfindel wrote:I've had cause to come on and check this game thread a number of times today and I honestly can't recall an occasion where I have and Magnus (Nerolunar) hasn't been on as well and yet (once again) you post so infrequently my friend. I am overwhelmed. I keep a tab open in my broswer and refreshes it occasionally. I hate having to read more than a few pages in one go, so I take it as it comes, especially that it´s Sunday and I don´t have anything else to do.

I believe both Mac and Bullz are town. They both seem genuine to me.
Nero once again calls Mac a town read. Both of these posts took place before Enrique did his 180 on Matt, so at the time Matt seemed like the sure thing and there was no reason for Nero to feel like he was in danger and no reason to heavily distance from teammates.

Let me know what you think y'all. I know it's difficult to look at Mac's posts from this context but if you search his posts for "Nerolunar" and "Nero" and read the bits of the thread surrounding his mentions of Nero, I think there's good evidence for them being on a team together.

This...makes a lot of sense TH.

Golden wrote:Turning this around to TH's perspective Enrique.

You are claiming that TH started this game with a plan to claim Alfred, despite the fact that Alfred was otherwise alive. He then followed that with a plan to imply Matt was Batman, even though Matt could turn around and state he wasn't Batman. And he did all of this in the assumption that even after he implied that Matt was Batman, and Matt wasn't Batman, everyone would continue to believe he was Alfred and he would coast by on civ cred.

That's your theory.

Now, I'm not saying it is wrong. I'm just saying that TH coming up with the idea to fictionally claim a role that was 1) alive and 2) SO easily disprovable (by both the real Alfred and by forcing him to claim who Batman was, and being able to prove him wrong) doesn't seem that sensible, from TH's perspective. In fact, it seems pretty stupid. And the fact it seems pretty stupid that he would do that is a persuasive factor against your theory.

That's not to say your theory is wrong. It could be right. But you are so absolutely utterly convinced that there is no other explanation that you are trying desperately to fit all the facts into it, but when I point out facts that don't fit you just criticise me, instead of seeing me for what I'm doing... poking the holes in your theory and seeing if they can be filled.

This is how you catch baddies in an open minded manner. You create a theory. Then you test the theory. I'm testing the theory. But you and zebra get incredibly defensive about it being tested. You are both so utterly convinced you absolutely have to be right that anyone who questions it is sticking up for TH, blind, not seeing the facts, misunderstanding or not posting straight. You call zebra's posts obvious but then when you read it even you see it wasn't obvious. The very simple thing to do is to actually try and evaluate the holes and think about what they mean. But neither of you seem the slightest bit interested in doing that. You are so entrenched in your views that you just refuse to even come up with rational explanations, instead just reject the idea that an explanation is necessary and reject the idea that I could have a point when it comes to other explanations. And calling me closed-minded back, as though somehow the point of this is oneupmanship and being the one who comes out on top instead of trying to actually solve the game.
I'm exactly this far behind.

Also - very nice post Golden.
