yea fully recognized there was the possibility for things to snowball in a really bad way for mafia and i think you did a good job erring on the side of caution - always preferable imo to have a scumsided setup over one where scum get locked out by mechanicsDrWilgy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 1:59 pm Vasher's further secrets and wincon:you will absorb a breath from someone assuming you are voting for the flipped player when they are voted over. The entire premise of the game when I was thinking about it was PR economy. If PRs aren't immediately available, but they have the capacity to exist based on a value how would this work? when I was doing the math for it, the averages equaled to about 1 Civ doctor being made with 1.5 shots and while difficult a single bullet proof wolf being made.
HOWEVER lol, I also expected this game to have a high roll on variance. Civilians had the potential to have 8 doctor shots (while unlikely that's a pretty big number) and wolves had the potential for 2 bullet proofs being made.
Vasher's role somewhat reflected this variance. Had Vasher's bullet proof been used, it would've been a very difficult survivor role, but they have a 2nd life by default. Had the players Vasher voted moved their breaths before they voted there, they would've been stuck in the game longer.
If I were to change anything about the balance, I'd maybe mess with increasing the bulletproofing requirement by 1 and then decrease the doctor requirement by 1 BUT make the cost 2 breaths instead of one. I feel that would've pushed the balance more in the favor of a 4 misyeet game rather than the 3.5 we experienced.
All in all it was very interesting to observe. I feel that there was quite a bit of interesting discussions about mechanics, but not all of them came to light. I had honestly thought Neon was about to bust the game open asking Lucy how many breaths they had left as the drab check mechanics could lead to either revealing that players are lying about their totals or figuring out Vasher messed with the total breaths in play. Curious to see what would've happened had there been more time in the day.
however i think town didn't really make good use of the mechs. not your fault, just i think not enough people were plugged in enough to make it work
