I can probably afford a slightly larger POE pool by the numbers, so consider that third tier "pseudo-POE" if you want. I do read those two more in the town direction than not though. This feels pretty good for a Day 1 product so all y'all pat yourselves on the back for doing the work to project your town hearts if this list is at least mostly accurate.

lost monkey - I dont really have an issue with him as much as some other people seem to? he seems generally fine to me, maybe just taking a little bit to get into the game but I dont think that means he's a wolf. I feel like mostly JJJ's been on his tail a bit which makes me go hmm. will need to see where this goes

MacDougall - I am also getting slightly different vibes from him vs the last games I've played where he was town. but idk if that means much bc I get the sense that he really just does his own thing and doesn't seem to care very much how it makes him come across. which is fine but def makes it very hard to really do anything with being able to read him.

Made - we know each other pretty well outside of mafia but im not sure how great I am at reading him in-game. I think the bit is NAI for him though, he is pretty goofy generally and just likes to have a good time, but I think I might need some more posts to go off of to attempt a real read on him. null for now

MartinGG99 - his posts have the sense of being helpful but also seeming a little disconnected from the thread/game in general, with a couple disclaimers about his playstyle and such. this could possibly be performative but I'm gonna lean a little more on the genuine side for now bc I kinda do the same thing

NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME - I feel like he is doing some pretty alright hunting in his own way. I kind of put in him the same boat as mac in my mind where he kinda just does his own thing and everyone else is just kinda like... but im gonna say he's mostly okay for now

I really like your read list. It isn't empty, not even half empty. You give actual reads, and I have a suspicion on all of Gavial, Guillo and Tang, so I appreciate reading you have also on the first two, and show some second guessing on Tang as well. Owner and nutella you got as supisicious and confusing respectively, and I am still listening and reading about what people have to say about them. And of course, the are still a lot of people who need to post more, who are in your null list. I would rather place Seanzie in that list, who you got as slight town, while as far as I know he simply entered the thread, but has pretty much not done anything [AI] yet.

I couldn’t disagree more. This reads lists looks exactly like someone trying to appear productive in a non-productive way.

What do you find non-productive about it?

They are very non-committal, this-or-that, and at the end I don’t feel like anything is really learned.

I think other than alison these pretty much all line up with where I'd land as well though some of them are very barely

Is it common on Syndicate to just agree with a read list, without any explanations or further thoughts (in the read list, and as well for the most part in the response)? To clarify: I tend to give more thoughts or ask questions, because anyone could just place the words town and scum next to a name, and just blend in, without having to show your actual thought process behind them (which are the most AI thing, in general).

I think there the type of player that’s probably very poor play early game but later on can be very obvious of their alignment so in my opinion we should have a Nut flip.

Now while it’s not impossible it’s W/W wagon it’s almost impossible thus I’m willing to accept that if Nut is wolf then the CW is most certainly Town which at least semi-clears Owner.

So you agree she is playing poorly but you wanna keep her because she might get better?
I think she is fluffing, which is kind of disappointing because i invited her to play here, she can do so so much better.

I did wonder for a while about the many townreads and leans, and stuff, and the case on Actv, but overall she looks town to me, and it could simply be town who is well present and sincerly part of towncore. Now Alison has said to be able to day vig one time during this game, and threatens to kill Actv at the end of the day. This also makes me lean more and more to Alison being town.

I wonder what your progression on Alison has been since you've posted these reads, and I have another question: what about Tang, Alison and JJ, made you put the latter two in the scum list, and not Tang?

JJ looks very pockety to me, like his interactions with me and about me are like he is looking for towncred for associating with me and a trap for if he flips scum, i'd get cased and yeeted for post-flip associations. Also i never trust people with too many townreads in a site full of wild cards.

Alison, read my ISO, it's all there and i dont like repeating myself, although... i might be tunneled onto her, i just cant forget that TMI post.

I actually did ISO you right before asking you these questions because I would figure you'd have explained it all, but is not quite all there. Maybe a little bit, but all? No. And you also avoid completely my question on Alison regarding her progression since your read list and the whole day vig threat kill towards Actv. What is your motivation to completely ignore this all, and just end with a simple ''I won't repeat myself''? I have clearly asked you questions that have yet get any kind of answer from you in this thread, and you are just not giving it to me, and I see this kind of behavior from you towards others who want more from you as well.

And what about Tang? Well, I figured Tang, JJJ and Alison were all three strongly present in the game so far, and I actually distrusted Tang the most, which is the complete opposite from your little read list there. So I am hoping you would give me your thought process on why you have nothing to say on Tang. And what about JJJ has been so pocketing that it actually warrants a scum read, and how does JJJ overall play look? Also, I am not seeing the trap you've mentioned.

If you actually looked into my ISO and cant see my case on Alison, i dont think there is any other explanation i can give you to explain my read on her, which means that you actually didnt read it, i suggest to go and actually read it.

Also i hope when you said “little read list” it's because it's actually little and not meant to gaslight my readlist. I really hope so.

I have nothing to say about Tang because i havent focused on her, i remember reacting to one of her posts cause it caught my attention, but a little voice in my head keeps telling me that i may grasping at straws looking for minor details to suspect people.
My focused has been elsewhere and i figure that if she is scum and i dont catch her, someone else from my faction will, i cant catch them all can I?

Nothing drives mafia nuts like townies town reading townies. That's what I strive for.

What you say about Tangrowth is technically valid -- she has a relatively low ratio of post-count-to-reads-content and much of her play to this point has been of the fluffier conversational variety. In a backwards manner, that actually contributes to my positive view of her. I get no impression that she is trying to look a part or move the game any particular direction (i.e. agenda) beyond a few choice questions/pokes/reads. Instead she just looks thrilled to be here, in her first Syndicate game in quite a while -- a significant thing given that she founded the website. Her comfort level is suitable to the town alignment, and there's still enough reading going on in her posts to make her relevant and involved.

Vigilance on the Tangrowth read is important, because she has proven in the past to be a capable mafioso who can outpost most town players in her sleep. On that front I don't fault you or others for being unsure. I lean in the positive direction at this point though.

Just talking with someone about the game can go a long way toward better understanding who they are, how they think about the game, and what might be promising or concerning markers. That it was a mafia chat was and is not meaningful to me. I still left that chat knowing her better than I had entered it, and it even helped me to find her as town in the re-rolled version of the same game.

To say I feel "strongly" about it wouldn't be entirely accurate, but I would say that I am "comfortable" with it. And that's good enough for now.

Good one to ask about, and that's a read that could stand to develop further. I liked Dana's entry into the game, because it reflected the persona I have come to associate with her in limited time together -- she and I actually shared a mafia chat for one day prior to AIM Mafia before the game was re-rolled, and I think I learned a lot about her in there. She's an earnest player who wants to be involved and make her mark, and she will make a good effort to do so -- but only by plowing through her own natural uncertainty, paranoia, and lower confidence. She had a lengthy hiatus of her own until a few months ago and is still feeling out her way around the game of Mafia. To this point I think she looks like the town version of her that I have seen so far and learned about in that chat.

She should provide more reads so I can do more with this read than rely on vague notions like those above.

"solved" no, but I do think I can achieve an acceptable level of Day 1 comfort to orient the game toward dead mafia on the basis of reads like that. I am often wrong about at least someone though, so it's worth asking
