I have a crazy role, it fits really well into this madness game. Basically if the person i target is targeted by a killing action, i block the person who targeted my target, but i only block the killing part of their action

That actually…makes sense from mafia perspective, to dodge the doc, factional kill someone else, and poison the IC. The rebound is clear.

Ok so I’m currently at : Wilgy, Michelle, Rondo, MR.
there’s probably 1-2 more but that’s a good place to start

In the hypothetically idea i would be in a scum team with these folks, i wouldn't suspect/quoestion Wilgy, Rondo and Mr. R.
You can bring up distancing activities, but this is too much of a strech and you should not keep the suspicion on me before asking me about my claimed actions, and make me claim my role
I claimed i targeted N1 tutuu and N2 Mr R and i don't see anyone asking me why, and with what action.
Town is not focused on me that much and scum is not role fishing.
That means for me that scum knows about my role by one of my targets and i believe MrR is the one, because shows disinterest in interactions with me.
I would full claim if necessary.

Oh, okay, sure. I don't consider 'AtE' and 'frustration' interchangeable.

I don't have much confidence in meta reading 112 because she's erratic regardless of alignment and can easily do things 'scum never do' as scum. (I have a feeling more than once this game someone will say '112 is scummy/towny for saying xyz' and I'll be like 'ehh it's NAI').

I would say 112 showing a bit of frustration would probably be >rand town, whereas trying to 'appeal to emotion' when engaging with her detractors is not.

Im not used to high energy competitive KZA. Unsure if it has alignment significance. Probably nil since ive seen her low energy as either alignment

KZA has (last I checked) a pretty notable comfort/presence difference. High energy KZA is town KZA unless there's been a meta-breaking scum game recently that I'm unaware of.

Like I'll keep an open mind but literally my only read right now is KZA = town.

Took a quick glance at Ruri's iso.

Pretty null tbh. I liked her entrance and general early post. She seemed comfortable. IMO scum tend to prefer to backread or at least delve in to something to look contributive and Ruri essentially just walked in and sat down and waved hello and hasn't left her seat to even get a drink or anything yet. At no point do I really sense her feeling forced or out of place in the thread.

Flipside of that is she hasn't...really done much. I mean, the same can be said of quite a few of us in this game so far tbh. But yeah, a few halfhearted opinions thrown out with little to back them up. On a macro level she's done nothing that really deserves a firm townread. There are maybe a couple posts one could nitpick ala as Tutuu has done.


I was nursing a slight townlean on Ruri from earlier, but maybe that was premature. I don't really see anything better or worse than anyone else though. GTH I still call her town.

i think that @Syn is town due to his lack of self-pres. i have played with both town and mafia syn. if he tryhards its a towntell for him. he can be low energy as either alignment. the thing is, he acknowledged that he is on the chopping block. he saw that he is a top wagon and said "maybe i should go read back". he was online 30 minds before eoD iirc (as in he posted itt). i believe that it is more likely that if he is mafia, he will put the extra effort for his team to leave a self-pres vote. thats how most people feel like, since if they are part of a mafia team on discord it feels more intimate. if you are town you dont know your teammates, you might as well be playing solo.

so i think that syn's complete lack of interest (also the "i just voted for the name closest to mine" stuff are too absurd to come from scum. i think he is town

Agree with this. Also just...I feel like I'm reading my own iso when I read his. Like he hinted he has things irl (deadlines or whatever) and so he's mostly just being sassy, and I just see myself when I'm in the same position. I always get scumread for it too. He doesn't give af in that situation and neither do I.

And like...there are a whole lotta ??s on the Syn wagon fmpov. And that was the wagon that didn’t move much at EoD. Like it was the people who popped off a vote earlier then didn’t stop by for EoD. Unless I am *vastly* wrong on my townreads (most of whom ended up on Dya) then there are scum, and I would think more than one, on Syn.

Whether this in particular makes Syn the bussed wolf or a mischop bait the wolves thought they had nailed down…could go either way actually. But I’m entertaining the latter idea. There’s a whole lot of people who I want to say are town who swapped last minute to Dya, which suggests town were struggling to decide (natural for a large game D1) and scum were content to sit where they were. I haven’t checked everyone on that wagon but I do feel like I didn’t see most of the Syn-voters around at EoD.

So I also want to read Syn as town based on VCA. Which is a stupid and often wrong way to form opinions but I'm doing it anyway.

Scotty posted a couple posts that pinged me and I remember now I was supposed to iso him for Ted and never did. Sorry Ted.

Nanook is probably town. There was no discomfort in dropping the gimmick and his case on Epi felt too nuanced to come from town. Not that Nanook isn't a good scum who can fake townie things, but that just felt like it was coming from a perspective that's harder to fake.

Epi is probably town anyway though. Dayvig thing.

I've never seen tutuu wolf and I'm wary of her because of that. She was super whiteknighty in D1 and that pinged me, but her explanations for why she townreads everyone's scumreads make sense and are takes I tend to share. Her gang of six is pretty different to eveyrone else's and scum tend to include a usual suspect or two so they have room to help push a consensus wagon if they want to. So that feels town to me. But then Mac post his 'tutuu is scary' post and now I don't know.



Any other thoughts I had whilst reading have escaped me.

My conclusion to this is that I find the second scenario more in line with how I read the thread. I'd lean Syn being town and mafia were in no real danger and some parked their vote and some hopped around with the town leaders.

Made was scumread really early on in D1 wasn't he? Why did people decide otherwise? I haven't read his posts much but he's come across as kind of awkward. His shade of Mac at SoD2 where he implied Mac being alive was suss also wasn't great.

Town 112 often doesn't 'showcase progression'. Scum 112 is more likely to. Town 112 is more likely to make snapreads no one can follow.

This version of 112 is null atm. She's still in her scum range but I've not seen anything I want to point at and call out. Not really worth an immediate chop.

They claimed RBer later. Probably a claim close to their real role and they can say it is a way of claiming safe if they are villager to avoid a soup kill. Whether a soup kill exists or not, we don't really know it because 'Role/flavour claiming is allowed but it may not be in your best interests' doesn't imply an anticlaim mechanic that big, but mafia can have a claim vigi for eg.

I was thinking about this earlier. I don't think there's a soup kill mechanic. I know that's the Big Bad Scary Monster of Syndicate games, but it's not actually all that common in games I've been in. I think JPIC's counter to mass claiming is the fact that roles aren't being revealed upon flip. That opens the door for fake claims from scum.

This is not me advocating for a full claim or anything. I hate when games devolve into mech stuff. But I think it's *probably* okay for people to claim if they really want to.

This is very important if they have some sort of soup. Because this is easily scum!MR trying to lower suspicion on claiming in a way where he can say "I didn't advocate for it!"

Rondo finally does the ISO he'd promised and MR immediately ignores it.

As I've read Ender's posts sporadically throughout the game I feel they're /fine/ but he feels very...detached? from the collective. Like he's not truly slanking but I don't feel like his contributions have added much to the direction of the thread, and he doesn't seem bothered by that. (I realise the same criticism can be leveled at me but I *am* bothered by it.)

I haven't opened up his iso and maybe I should. I'd probably end up nitpicking though, and my concern is more on a macro level anyway.

Also when I looked at Dya's wagon earlier I felt there were very few options for an opportunistic scum and it was basically him or Michelle (putting aside certain slots for raisins) and Michelle has been poisoned and so far D2 seems sharp in the way I expect from her.

Dunya hasn't moved anywhere out of my 'eh I dunno' pile at any point so far, positively or negatively, but I'm not sure I'm on board with voting there today.

In an admittedly small sample size, Dunya has never townread me regardless of my alignment. Even in CoV D1, when everyone else was doing it, Dunya was basically the only person still hesitant (iirc it was because I was *too* clean or something).

So it was really weirding me out to see her give me such an easy TR in this game. This is much better.

Scotty feels like he's been posting more to have a presence than because he has a direction to his game. He feels...disconnected, a little bit, from the goings on of the game. I have no qualms about flipping that slot.

Cool stuff. I have little to add. I had done my own glance through Scotty spew and have come to similar conclusions, so I think the collective PoE is a good one.

I know Mac has the ovaries to pull off a fake claim and all that, but it would be a bit...useless?...to claim giving Rondo a role knowing it would be denied. It achieves little for his hypothetical scum team.

Mac is just 'shrug, probs town' until we have anything more to go off of, imo.

Not really. Everyone said the things I was gonna say before I could say them. I like our collective PoE. I could...probably write my own words on them, but I'd end up with a lot of hedging and not really advancing things anywhere past where they already are.

For myself, what I should probably do next is iso Falcon. I've deliberately avoided it because he's the player I'm most familiar with and I was waiting to see if something happened to help me read him.

But overall I tend to trust my instinct about the gamestate and right now I'm okay with it? (Question mark added because I think the post cap is inhibiting my sense of things to an extent.) It's hard to truly gauge after one round, but I don't really feel like this is a game where the mafia are running rings around us or anything. I'm content to fire into the PoE once or twice and see what happens.

The problem with meta is that it evolves. Once upon a time it was easy to read Falcon; then once upon a different time it became harder (for me) as he improved his scum game and could match his tone/style more closely. Recently I felt comfortable reading him again, but less on meta and more so on how he treated me when we were in the same game.

So I hesitate to speak up because I don't want people taking me at my word as if I'm a meta expert. I find when you play *too* many games with someone you begin to see aspects of both their town and scum games in everything they do. I see that here with Falc. On top of that, nearly all our experience has been in the more insular CDC community, and only a handful of games in the last half a year off our home site (here on the Syndicate). Different environments mean changing meta as well, which also makes me hesitant to commit to a meta read.

My main concern here and now with him is that, in my most recent experience, I figured out wolf Falc based on him trying to pocket me, whereas town Falc is usually wary of me at first. In this game, he's...not been blatantly pocketing me, perhaps, but certainly I've seen no attempt to solve me. I feel like town Falcon should've been more reluctant to let me slank my way through the game like I sort of have. I've tried to avoid engaging him beyond non-game stuff to see how that develops and it...hasn't. He's done other little things I associate with town Falc, but big-picture-wise I'm not convinced.

So right now, GTH, I want to call Falcon scum. But if he flips town I'm just going to shrug and re-calibrate my expectations of him for future games together.

My first guess for #3 is Dyson. I am barely here though.

Scotty throws two questions at two low posters and handles them completely differently - LoMo(/Alison)'s question is a serious nudge, Dyson's is a pure joke.

This was the post that directed me towards Scotty in the first place, and, without wasting words overexplaining it, I think Scotty's wolfy intentions with this post are crystal clear and I think it clears Dyson.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the people who got wagoned hard on day 1 or 2 are the last mafia tbh. Feels like that type of game moreso than a deepwolf.

Go pop open Scotty's iso and skim through it. He has way too much interaction with tutuu to be partnered with her. And sure, some scum do that with their partners, but I don't think Scotty does, based on everything else I can glean about him from his iso. At the risk of sounding insulting (which I'm not, because the following basically describes me too) I think Scotty is a fairly conventional wolf in terms of how he's focused on faking solving and nudging along potential mischops and trying to quietly distance from his partners a bit (see the post I quoted in a post above where he handles the LoMo slot). He doesn't treat any other slot the way he treats tutuu.

Also just throwing it out there but falcon has shifted from an orangey-yellow 'lean scum I guess' to a greeny-yellow 'lean town I guess' in my head and now I feel like a bad friend for daring to call him scum.

I don't feel like even trying to parse Alison's iso for potential spew tbh.

I do sort of think that she doesn't throw her partner w!Motel under the bus so quickly and easily though. I don't think she subs into the game to see the state of the scum team and thinks 'I can definitely solo this against Mac, Jay, Nanook, and tutuu.'

I'm not ruling it out, but it just strikes me as unlikely, even for someone confident in their wolfing abilities like Alison is.

I don't have much confidence in meta reading 112 because she's erratic regardless of alignment and can easily do things 'scum never do' as scum. (I have a feeling more than once this game someone will say '112 is scummy/towny for saying xyz' and I'll be like 'ehh it's NAI').

I would say 112 showing a bit of frustration would probably be >rand town, whereas trying to 'appeal to emotion' when engaging with her detractors is not.

Took a quick glance at Ruri's iso.

Pretty null tbh. I liked her entrance and general early post. She seemed comfortable. IMO scum tend to prefer to backread or at least delve in to something to look contributive and Ruri essentially just walked in and sat down and waved hello and hasn't left her seat to even get a drink or anything yet. At no point do I really sense her feeling forced or out of place in the thread.

Flipside of that is she hasn't...really done much. I mean, the same can be said of quite a few of us in this game so far tbh. But yeah, a few halfhearted opinions thrown out with little to back them up. On a macro level she's done nothing that really deserves a firm townread. There are maybe a couple posts one could nitpick ala as Tutuu has done.


I was nursing a slight townlean on Ruri from earlier, but maybe that was premature. I don't really see anything better or worse than anyone else though. GTH I still call her town.

i think that @Syn is town due to his lack of self-pres. i have played with both town and mafia syn. if he tryhards its a towntell for him. he can be low energy as either alignment. the thing is, he acknowledged that he is on the chopping block. he saw that he is a top wagon and said "maybe i should go read back". he was online 30 minds before eoD iirc (as in he posted itt). i believe that it is more likely that if he is mafia, he will put the extra effort for his team to leave a self-pres vote. thats how most people feel like, since if they are part of a mafia team on discord it feels more intimate. if you are town you dont know your teammates, you might as well be playing solo.

so i think that syn's complete lack of interest (also the "i just voted for the name closest to mine" stuff are too absurd to come from scum. i think he is town

Like he hinted he has things irl (deadlines or whatever) and so he's mostly just being sassy, and I just see myself when I'm in the same position. I always get scumread for it too. He doesn't give af in that situation and neither do I.

And like...there are a whole lotta ??s on the Syn wagon fmpov. And that was the wagon that didn’t move much at EoD. Like it was the people who popped off a vote earlier then didn’t stop by for EoD. Unless I am *vastly* wrong on my townreads (most of whom ended up on Dya) then there are scum, and I would think more than one, on Syn.

Whether this in particular makes Syn the bussed wolf or a mischop bait the wolves thought they had nailed down…could go either way actually. But I’m entertaining the latter idea. There’s a whole lot of people who I want to say are town who swapped last minute to Dya, which suggests town were struggling to decide (natural for a large game D1) and scum were content to sit where they were. I haven’t checked everyone on that wagon but I do feel like I didn’t see most of the Syn-voters around at EoD.

Nanook is probably town. There was no discomfort in dropping the gimmick and his case on Epi felt too nuanced to come from town. Not that Nanook isn't a good scum who can fake townie things, but that just felt like it was coming from a perspective that's harder to fake.

Epi is probably town anyway though. Dayvig thing.

I've never seen tutuu wolf and I'm wary of her because of that. She was super whiteknighty in D1 and that pinged me, but her explanations for why she townreads everyone's scumreads make sense and are takes I tend to share. Her gang of six is pretty different to eveyrone else's and scum tend to include a usual suspect or two so they have room to help push a consensus wagon if they want to. So that feels town to me. But then Mac post his 'tutuu is scary' post and now I don't know.

My conclusion to this is that I find the second scenario more in line with how I read the thread. I'd lean Syn being town and mafia were in no real danger and some parked their vote and some hopped around with the town leaders.

This version of 112 is null atm. She's still in her scum range but I've not seen anything I want to point at and call out. Not really worth an immediate chop.

They claimed RBer later. Probably a claim close to their real role and they can say it is a way of claiming safe if they are villager to avoid a soup kill. Whether a soup kill exists or not, we don't really know it because 'Role/flavour claiming is allowed but it may not be in your best interests' doesn't imply an anticlaim mechanic that big, but mafia can have a claim vigi for eg.

I was thinking about this earlier. I don't think there's a soup kill mechanic. I know that's the Big Bad Scary Monster of Syndicate games, but it's not actually all that common in games I've been in. I think JPIC's counter to mass claiming is the fact that roles aren't being revealed upon flip. That opens the door for fake claims from scum.

This is not me advocating for a full claim or anything. I hate when games devolve into mech stuff. But I think it's *probably* okay for people to claim if they really want to.

This is very important if they have some sort of soup. Because this is easily scum!MR trying to lower suspicion on claiming in a way where he can say "I didn't advocate for it!"

As I've read Ender's posts sporadically throughout the game I feel they're /fine/ but he feels very...detached? from the collective. Like he's not truly slanking but I don't feel like his contributions have added much to the direction of the thread, and he doesn't seem bothered by that. (I realise the same criticism can be leveled at me but I *am* bothered by it.)

I haven't opened up his iso and maybe I should. I'd probably end up nitpicking though, and my concern is more on a macro level anyway.

Also when I looked at Dya's wagon earlier I felt there were very few options for an opportunistic scum and it was basically him or Michelle (putting aside certain slots for raisins) and Michelle has been poisoned and so far D2 seems sharp in the way I expect from her.

Dunya hasn't moved anywhere out of my 'eh I dunno' pile at any point so far, positively or negatively, but I'm not sure I'm on board with voting there today.

In an admittedly small sample size, Dunya has never townread me regardless of my alignment. Even in CoV D1, when everyone else was doing it, Dunya was basically the only person still hesitant (iirc it was because I was *too* clean or something).

So it was really weirding me out to see her give me such an easy TR in this game. This is much better.

Scotty feels like he's been posting more to have a presence than because he has a direction to his game. He feels...disconnected, a little bit, from the goings on of the game. I have no qualms about flipping that slot.

Cool stuff. I have little to add. I had done my own glance through Scotty spew and have come to similar conclusions, so I think the collective PoE is a good one.

I know Mac has the ovaries to pull off a fake claim and all that, but it would be a bit...useless?...to claim giving Rondo a role knowing it would be denied. It achieves little for his hypothetical scum team.

Not really. Everyone said the things I was gonna say before I could say them. I like our collective PoE. I could...probably write my own words on them, but I'd end up with a lot of hedging and not really advancing things anywhere past where they already are.

For myself, what I should probably do next is iso Falcon. I've deliberately avoided it because he's the player I'm most familiar with and I was waiting to see if something happened to help me read him.

But overall I tend to trust my instinct about the gamestate and right now I'm okay with it? (Question mark added because I think the post cap is inhibiting my sense of things to an extent.) It's hard to truly gauge after one round, but I don't really feel like this is a game where the mafia are running rings around us or anything. I'm content to fire into the PoE once or twice and see what happens.

The problem with meta is that it evolves. Once upon a time it was easy to read Falcon; then once upon a different time it became harder (for me) as he improved his scum game and could match his tone/style more closely. Recently I felt comfortable reading him again, but less on meta and more so on how he treated me when we were in the same game.

So I hesitate to speak up because I don't want people taking me at my word as if I'm a meta expert. I find when you play *too* many games with someone you begin to see aspects of both their town and scum games in everything they do. I see that here with Falc. On top of that, nearly all our experience has been in the more insular CDC community, and only a handful of games in the last half a year off our home site (here on the Syndicate). Different environments mean changing meta as well, which also makes me hesitant to commit to a meta read.

My main concern here and now with him is that, in my most recent experience, I figured out wolf Falc based on him trying to pocket me, whereas town Falc is usually wary of me at first. In this game, he's...not been blatantly pocketing me, perhaps, but certainly I've seen no attempt to solve me. I feel like town Falcon should've been more reluctant to let me slank my way through the game like I sort of have. I've tried to avoid engaging him beyond non-game stuff to see how that develops and it...hasn't. He's done other little things I associate with town Falc, but big-picture-wise I'm not convinced.

So right now, GTH, I want to call Falcon scum. But if he flips town I'm just going to shrug and re-calibrate my expectations of him for future games together.

My first guess for #3 is Dyson. I am barely here though.

This was the post that directed me towards Scotty in the first place, and, without wasting words overexplaining it, I think Scotty's wolfy intentions with this post are crystal clear and I think it clears Dyson.

Go pop open Scotty's iso and skim through it. He has way too much interaction with tutuu to be partnered with her. And sure, some scum do that with their partners, but I don't think Scotty does, based on everything else I can glean about him from his iso. At the risk of sounding insulting (which I'm not, because the following basically describes me too) I think Scotty is a fairly conventional wolf in terms of how he's focused on faking solving and nudging along potential mischops and trying to quietly distance from his partners a bit (see the post I quoted in a post above where he handles the LoMo slot). He doesn't treat any other slot the way he treats tutuu.

Also just throwing it out there but falcon has shifted from an orangey-yellow 'lean scum I guess' to a greeny-yellow 'lean town I guess' in my head and now I feel like a bad friend for daring to call him scum.

I don't feel like even trying to parse Alison's iso for potential spew tbh.

I do sort of think that she doesn't throw her partner w!Motel under the bus so quickly and easily though. I don't think she subs into the game to see the state of the scum team and thinks 'I can definitely solo this against Mac, Jay, Nanook, and tutuu.'

In the hypothetically idea i would be in a scum team with these folks, i wouldn't suspect/quoestion Wilgy, Rondo and Mr. R.
You can bring up distancing activities, but this is too much of a strech and you should not keep the suspicion on me before asking me about my claimed actions, and make me claim my role
I claimed i targeted N1 tutuu and N2 Mr R and i don't see anyone asking me why, and with what action.
Town is not focused on me that much and scum is not role fishing.
That means for me that scum knows about my role by one of my targets and i believe MrR is the one, because shows disinterest in interactions with me.
I would full claim if necessary.

I read you as mostly town mainly because you are solvy, you are a bit abrasive and demanding but whatever. I have seen a few good posts I like. However when I put my tinfoil hat on the explination Tutuu said about you hitting Mac with poison and having it bounce back on you does give me pause on that possibility you are scum or 3p. Scotty said earlier we are being manipulated by some top posting as well and I know its not me, it cant be scotty or mac/alison. You are a pretty high poster so it could also mean you are scum. But I still read you as town after all that for now. Day 4 I was going to do some actual reads since I cant coast by anymore letting mac win the game.
