A racket based on my favorite console-exclusive game ever (1993, SNES)

The setup is closed. Expect a low degree of role complexity and no special mechanics beyond non-vanilla roles.
Vanilla roles exist in some capacity.
The game features only two factions: civilians and mafia.
Given the small size, the post cap will be generous: 100 posts per day phase.
Night phases are open.

GENERAL RULES/NOTES

~ Role claiming and infodumping are legal.

~ All members of the winning faction will be declared winners, dead or alive.

1. The most important rule is to always remember that we are playing a game together on an Internet forum. Be kind and considerate as you are also being competitive, and be mindful of how your words might be received by others beyond the scope of a Mafia game.

2. Do not engage in behind the scenes chat (BTSC) with other player(s) unless your role gives you the explicit right to do so.

3. You may not edit or delete any posts in the game thread.

4. You may NOT target yourself with night actions unless otherwise stated.

5. You may target the same player on consecutive nights unless otherwise stated.

6. [mention]dunya[/mention] is your Facilitator for this game. She's the best. If you're getting irritated, frustrated, or pissed off, then I encourage you to send her a private message. She'll talk through it with you. She'll keep an eye on the game as play proceeds as well.

7. If you're dead, then please do not post anything remotely on-topic in the game thread. If you want to make an off-hand and off-topic comment, use this dead-read color. Please do not abuse this privilege by posting frequently. You're dead.

8. The same goes for non-players, who should use this non-player-blue color. Keep it off-topic.

9. Votes can be changed at will.

10. Day phases will last approximately 48 hours and night phases will last approximately 24 hours. I will adhere to this as strictly as possible, but if life forces me to make adjustments then I will do so.

11. All roles will be revealed to the degree I deem appropriate when players are either eliminated or killed.

12. I will use this font. You can use it too if you want. Just don't impersonate the host.

Given that I don't expect folks to have much knowledge of this theme if any, I am not going to treat flavor like a retelling of the story.
Instead I will talk about the literal video game and the unique experience that is playing it.
It maps nicely to the game of Mafia, depending upon how you play it, in that it is a frustrating challenge right away.
Day 1? Level 1? Expect to be irritated, and perhaps even find the game nigh unplayable. But forge onward to great reward.
It's hard. It's extremely hard. The characters aren't balanced. Treat them as difficulty settings.
If you're poor Kamil, you might not survive your first encounter with a goddamn bird. Good luck.

It is Day 1. You have 48 hours to eliminate a player by vote.

Hi all. I never played 7th Saga. Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star, Dragon Warrior... those were solid early RPGs. And Shining Force!

So, is that tutuu post lie-detectable? Asking for a friend.

i feel relieved that my gambit worked. i was legit worried (even tho i didnt show it) that it would backfire and i would feel guilt towards my mafia teammate. but i have a feeling it will work, and people will townread me for this. so this makes me feel rly, rly, rly relieved, and good. life is good! its like .... its like coming out of the closet. coming out of the closet about something LGBT related about you. i feel like im dancing in the rain rn, going in circles, screaming off the top of my lungs "I AM MAFIA" and i feel FREE. and RELIEVED. and UNBURDENED.

so I'm sort of breaking my own rule by saying this since I was explicitly trying to go for a more "read people on the first post of the game, go by gut reads, don't give explicit reasoning, play in a less logical fashion" style to see how that worked out for me (and since both the syndicate's first post read advocates are in this game I figured that would work here).

but I'll give reasoning here anyway because I'm alison enough that I can't resist. while it's probably within scum range for tutuu to do this as scum, I think this is >rand town because I do not believe that tutuu would wish to risk me attacking her/trying to policy her really early in the game if she was scum. it's much more psychologically easy to do this as town because if I kill her and she flips town she gets to feel like it wasn't her fault/that it was my tunnelling that made town lose, whereas if she flips scum it's just embarassing for her

that is a nice analysis. it is true that im afraid of embarassment. however, one fatal flaw is underestimating how much im willing to gambit and how impulsive i am in my decision-making, in case i decide that doing this will put me at zero risk of getting flipped in the first place
