Re: The Donner Party - A New Beginning
I don't know what is more headache-inducing already, the bendy rules or Epig's WoF interpretation of the poll.
My only dillemma is regarding the Forces' deaths. Wasatch cannot be lunched/killed before the other two Forces do, but the other Forces die, in a certain order, after Wasatch does. Is there a contradiction in this or do Great Salt Lake / Fremont die instead of Wasatch, if he is voted for lunch or targeted for a kill on a particular day/night?
I'll choose U. A lot of our names end with U, but, especially in arts, the U in artists' name often got changed to an O, in international (especially French) variants: Enesco, Ionesco... So the U is a more precious vowel. (wtf am I saying)

I interpret this to mean that if we try to kill Wasatch, he doesn't die but one of the other members of his team dies in his place, until they are all gone.Ricochet wrote:I don't know what is more headache-inducing already, the bendy rules or Epig's WoF interpretation of the poll.

Yeah, that's how I read it. But if it's a lynch, wouldn't it make it easier to know who Wasatch is? Unless after that, he changes his role.thellama73 wrote:I interpret this to mean that if we try to kill Wasatch, he doesn't die but one of the other members of his team dies in his place, until they are all gone.Ricochet wrote:I don't know what is more headache-inducing already, the bendy rules or Epig's WoF interpretation of the poll.

Myes, but in that case, wouldn't Wasatch's identity be compromised*? i.e. we vote to lynch player X, GLS/Fr are announced as lynched instead, so we'll realize player X was Wasatch and then just proceed to wipe out the whole Forces in two-three days, max.
*unless the roles will be reshuffled immediately after the lynch and Wasatch's identity will get lost again

I think "in your wagon train" means any player.

I'm not sure. Every other protecting, blocking role is phrased as "any player" except this one.thellama73 wrote:I think "in your wagon train" means any player.Ricochet wrote:Oh, and George Donner can only protect someone from his BTSC group, right?

Rox~ does wagon train mean any player, or does it mean BTS group?
Cause iirc, the RL Donner party split up into several trains. So that is a plausible interpretation.

So I was really excited about this game starting but now I kinda of scared lol. With the roles changing and everything this seems like its going to be a game of luck, but we shall see.
I going to vote for the letter u.

Re: The Donner Party - A New Beginning
Yay! Hello Snowman and Zomberella!
Typically, most mafia games around here start with a pregame "Day 0" phase where the poll can be themed off of whatever theme the host used to construct their game. The polls can have some outcome on the game or they can be just a way to get people acclimated before the lynching (in this game, lunching) starts.
I'm leaning towards the former for this one, but I doubt any of us can discern what it'll do.

I thought rotating powers would make it a bit complicated, but I knew there'd be a lot of BTSC, and Roxy games are always fun.
However, I didn't realize there would be rotating alignments.
At least, if they make it through this game, subsequent games should be a breeze.

Now, I wonder if the wheel of fortune thing is related to the rotations. Like if we find the right letters, we switch to a new role or something.
I'm going with u

Alex brought a zombie and a snowman to the party. One is equipped to eat other people, and one can survive the winter without food.
I feel at a disadvantage here. At least as a marmot, I am suited to high altitudes and cold weather.

So it appears we have 16 votes already! That means only one player hasn't voted yet, and I think that player is Ninja Blooper.
Other than that, I think only one player voted but hasn't posted yet: TySlayer.
Hopefully the Host can start D1 soon then!

I'm just shocked (pleasantly) that so many players have checked in already, so maybe the Host can give us an earlier Day 1. Otherwise, for now I eagerly await the game's real start.

Re: The Donner Party - A New Beginning
As night draws down everyone gathers around the Donner's tent.
Mr Donner clears his throat "Everyone get your nights rest - we leave at dawn!"
With that everyone returned to their own tents and turned in for the night. There were many a dream about the adventure and riches that awaited them on their upcoming journey.
Weather and Hunger smiled at each other and spoke "and so it begins!" they laughed themselves to sleep.
This will considered an even night for all intents and purposes - no kill powers can be used all other powers will be in play this night.

Re: The Donner Party - Night 0
Has anyone had any luck thinking about how to attack this game's unconventional role alignment possibility?
I still haven't cracked this game and figured out a way to enhance the civilians' chances to win... There has to be a way other than just luck, but I haven't thought of it yet. I suppose understanding the mechanism by which roles and alignments will change might alter that, but other than that, I just can't think of what we're going to do this game in terms of evidence and case building.
If everyone's roles change every night, I can literally think of nothing to do than to blindly lynch players.

I don't want to live in that universe.

If we're going to lynch essentially at random, I'm fine with that.
